On a more positive note, spirits seem high in training with the return of Chris and Robert, good news. "Up The Trees".

I know from the rumours we are close to signing Williams, but many of the post I have read seem we have him already, is this the case? And does he fit Dougie's template of only signing players ready to hit the ground running? I hear he is good, but can we afford to sign a player that may not be fit?

Agreed. Thia one is dragging its heels whilst the other two have gone through on mire difficult circumstances. Their must be a small problem!!!!

I read somewhere that he has been training with us and is now fit. Really hope this one comes off.

I think there has been more negative posts on the Banter site this pre season. This is of course due to our circumstances with FFP.
On a positive note, if the current squad we have remains the same, with a few quality loan additions, I for one think we still have a top 6 squad.
I can see MA leaving for 5M, but this will see the likes of Ozzy and Patterson shine.
Chris Burke has looked great pre season, along with the trialist Taylor who seems to have a great attitude, just what we need this season.
Our current squad, one that is well motivated = top 6

The same Paul Taylor that fans mocked on this site because his attitude was bad apparently.Good post Fazz. Someone positive for a change.

I agree with on the negativity, though I really can't see top 6. I think Trickies have to be realistic about where we are and what we have to work with. There's also a lot of quality n the Champ this year. If Forest get to top 6, it will be Bournemouth style luck.

And if MA leaves, hopefully Paterson will shine. I didn't think Forest would want to lose Lansbury though. Did you take this into account? That might alter your prediction.

The most encouraging thing is that Forest are being forced to take the youth seriously. That will only stand them in good stead. Southampton did that and look where they are.

PachucaRed,
No I hadn't taken HL into account before writing my post above. If HL does leave, it really only makes the loan signings more important. I think Ozzy is better then him anyway.
Top 6 still, a squad that has been together an extra season. A sound loan left back will make the City Ground a fortress this year. Holding midfielder (box to box) type player (Teshe?) a quality striker who can link up the forward play.

Good team Cjay, I would swap Oliveira and O'Grady positions, and consider swapping Ward and Mendes on the flanks.

Should we get Nicky Maynard back in, has to be worth considering over Paul Taylor?

Because we haven't had much to talk about this pre season, of course it's going to spark interest and rumour. I think it's great, and can't wait for the player to be revealed. If it doesn't happen, so be it.

Is Ozzy injured, he seems to have more impact than Tesche?

Marco 123

I thought Wilson was good today, Mills was better though. I think we let in far too many crosses today, the team have to improve or this will out pressure on who ever the centre back pairing is, resulting in goals.
