Burnley have made an approach for Wigan midfielder James McArthur, this could mean they've given up on HL.

FinBeavon

1.) Hopefully yeah, It'd be great to think that the situation with Lansbury will be sorted soon and he'll be fit and focused to add his quality to NFFC but if not then I trust the management will find a suitable alternative.

Hobbs, Lascelles, Lichaj and Cohen a back in training according to Wigley.

FinBeavon

1.) Good news the physio department have been on overtime for several months now, hopefully the overcrowded treatment rooms will be a thing of the past too.

2.) I will be so happy to see Cohen and lichaj back in the defence. I just hope Cohen can stay injury free for the season. Great player with amazing commitment!!

3.) 31 Jul 2014 08:16:48
I agree with marty, Cohen is a huge player for us, and its so noticeable when he's out how much of a hole he leaves. Not one of the glory players, but probably the most influential player we have.

4.) Agree Marty. Those two will massively help defence and attack.

Getting excited now

5.) Someone watching the open day training says their all training. except Blackstock. sounds good

Forest considering move for Jack
Collison, now a free agent.

FinBeavon

1.) Hasn't this been rumoured for a few weeks?

{Ed034's Note - yes. been mentioned again today

2.) 15 Jul 2014 15:41:51
not good enough and don't need him in my opinion!

3.) 15 Jul 2014 15:57:10
Wow. so excited that so much is happening! Exciting times.

4.) Be a good signing and free!

5.) I think we do need him - decent player, free agent, we need back/comp for places

why would we not need such a player?

6.) We've got players for that position, younger players who are eager to improve and impress! we've had too many players that have not been good enough lately don't need no more! (in my opinion) FTID

7.) He spent time at Wigan but they don't appear to be interested.

Wigan reportedly interested in Mackie

FinBeavon

1.) 14 Jul 2014 10:07:09
Once again it's only wigan!
the only player they will have of us is if Pearce doesn't want anymore! FTID

2.) Every player is for sale, if the buying club are willing to offer a price that makes selling worthwhile

Personally I wouldn't be too upset to see Mackie go. Wholehearted player, but he isn't a winger and doesn't score enough to be a striker.

{Ed034's Note - i really like mackie and would love him to stay

3.) I wouldn't want Mackie to go.

4.) I think darlow should be sold as he doesn't put enough tackles in!saying Mackie doesn't score enough to be a striker when he's playing as a winger is very harsh. he's a player that gives there left back a torrid time by constantly driving at him.

5.) If we are going to compete then we need players like Cox and Mackie to be able to play with a high tempo and close down when not in possession.
This rumour is only agent speculation because a new contract discussion was not completed last season when the poison dwarf departed

6.) I'm sure nearly all clubs enquire about nearly all players ( except QPR and Harry who enquire about everybody!) Mackie should stay in my opinion. We are building not selling.

7.) I wouldn't mind mackie leaving as long as we replace him. For me he falls in to the same bracket as Cox. Works hard for very little output.

8.) I'd like to keep Mackie too. What he lacks in ability he more than makes up for in work-rate and determination.

I felt sorry for him towards the end of last season, as Forest were dire and he struggled. He is one of those players that look great in a strong/dominant side, pressuring defenders and running his socks off. But when the side look weak he can be a bit of a headless chicken and doesn't have the ability/flair to make something happen.

Hopefully he'll be a key player for Forest next season, on our way up :)

9.) Was excited by the signing of Mackie, felt he was under used at QPR & would shine once given a chance. 5 goals & 6 assists in the championship left me feeling underwhelmed. Like Cox, relentless running only achieves so much. Would prefer someone with a bit more cutting edge at the business end of the pitch.

10.) Uptheforest, my comment about Mackie's goalscoring wasn't based on his time at forest, it was looking at a man you is 28, has played as an attacking player for all of his career and has one once reached double figures of goals; a storming 11 goals when playing as a striker in the conference!!
And as a winger he does run the full back a lot, he just doesn't cross very well or score enough.

11.) Really like mackie, very passionate, very very hard working but have to say all that graft rarely amounts to anything. Think he's done enough to earn another chance this season but needs to improve

12.) I would not mind both cox and Mackie stayin. Pressure will be off both as they won't be regular starters, so maybe can make impact from the bench in last 20 minutes when players tired or be used to see out tight games.

Fawaz has said in a Kuwaiti interview that Forest are in talks with Copenhagen and Costa Rican midfielder Christian Bolanos. Don't know whether it's true or will happen but I'm sure since Fawaz has said it, it must have some truth to it

FinBeavon

1.) My mate is a Copenhagen fan and says this guy is a solid player - bring him in!

2.) Having translated part of the interview he also mentions that he will never change the grounds name in lucrative sponsorship deals like man city and the Etihad as well Arsenal and the Emirates which strip away the clubs traditions for capital gain

3.) Where can this interview be seen?

{Ed034's Note - i have seen it and it is not in english. i am trying to find a worded version of it, so i can translate

4.) Charlton couldn't get work permit in 2006 for him - guess that wouldn't be an issue now. Worries me that he's already 30 though, especially for a winger. No idea of whether the rumour has any truth in it though.

5.) 09 Jul 2014 13:52:25
Not sure he'd actually be a good signing his goal and assists return is pretty bad in Danish top flight it might only be the cpsta Rica manager that has made him play the way he has in the world cup

6.) 09 Jul 2014 14:10:57
so has Abdoun gone

7.) This guy is just the ticket! Bolanos is hispanic for stone cannonballs and we need someone with the balls to shoot straight!

8.) No way in this bloody lifetime that will happen 150yrs next yr we have been the city ground and 150yrs time we will still be THE CITY GROUND

9.) Apparently a free agent so worth a go.

10.) No, not a player for my beloved Forest.
He had a fine World Cup, yes, but I know him really well from the Danish League, and the last two seasons, he has been poor and without power. He is not what we are looking for in my opinion!

Spoke to Cohen at the training ground today and he hopes to be starting against Blackpool on Saturday. Also Antonio's need was bandaged up, but Cohen said it was just a dead leg and he expects to feature on Saturday.

Connor Wickham has rejected a deal at Sunderland, SP could be interested after coaching him at u21. I strongly doubt it, but could be a possibility.

FinBeavon

{Ed034's Note - if he has rejected the money sunderland have offered, he wont be accepting what we could

Our starting back four won't be fit in time for the start of the season, so we've got to put our trust in our youth; (Lascelles, Laing, possibly Riera)

FinBeavon

1.) Couldn't agree more Fin and you're right in saying back four too everyone is worried (rightly so) about our centre halves but Mackie and McLaughlin played full back Saturday amongst others good to read that Fox played well when he came on sounds like CC won't be fit and let's face it he might not even be the same player God knows I want him to be but everything seems so up in the air at the mo : (
Still we ground out a result I guess and there were positives on the whole

2.) I think we will play with 3 at the back in a 3-4-1-2 for some matches with Mackie and Fox as attacking wing backs

Looks decent, got a good record in Germany.

FinBeavon

{Ed034's Note - I cannot see any chance in this, but he'd be a massive signing if we got him
