So it looks like Lansbury will play tomorrow. With the kind of luck we have with injuries, wouldn't it just be typical if he got a serious injury. Put him out for the season so we basically lose him for nothing instead of getting £4 million. This scenario must be in DF's mind when he picks the team for tomorrow.
Also, why not play Antonio up front? He would score loads of goals and could just concentrate on attacking with fewer defensive responsibilities. We have other decent wingers to do that job.

You won't increase Antonio's goal threat if you move him up top. If anything, you might even reduce it. Antonio is best picking the ball up deeper and running at the opposition, not waiting for the ball up front.
Part of our current problem is not getting players around the front man, leaving them isolated. Let's not do that to Antonio. Besides, he can't hold the ball up either. He only goes forwards.

If we could magically bring back any player from Forest's past in their prime to help the team just for this season, who would be the most useful?
I'd go with Stan the Man. Britt could take the whole season off then come back next year fit and firing.

If Reid gets himself fit again we should make him our Pirlo. A deep-lying playmaker with no pace (so he doesn't have to run much and aggravate his injury). We would have to play 4-2-3-1 for this to work and have a very mobile DM alongside him to do all the dirty work.

Looks like Pinillos will sign to provide competion for Fox at LB. Agree that DM is now the priority (even with Mancienne doing ok there in pre-season). If Abdoun, Radi and McLaughin leave, we will have 4 spaces left - Pinillos, Maynard, Taylor and hopefully a DM to complete the squad.

It does matter if we wait until the emergency loan window opens as all deals can only be for 93 days maximum. We cannot sign players on season-long loans during the emergency loan window and they would not be available in December. Fawaz and Forest are just making sure that everything is done correctly and the players are registered after ratification from the FL before announcing the deals.

If it is a loan signing then the parent club may be willing to pay a portion of the wages. Especially if, as Dougie says, it is a favour owed to him.
