paul taylor of nottm post as said that pants is the scapegoat at the min despite keeping 7 clean sheets so far and also he thinks only 1 goal at villa was his fault the rest he has conceded this season are not.

well Bristol c their goal he scored an og - should of tipped it over the bar, wigan their 1st goal he got underneath a corner, Brentford 2nd goal didn't command his 6 yard box and even though the shot was straight at him it still goes in, blackburn 1st goal goes over his head and in - how tall his this guy?, millwall both goals at fault, Norwich 2nd goal palms it straight to their player and villa 2nd goal he fumbled a shot and the 4th no reaction to the header just watched it go in.

so all i'm saying is yes he is a bit of a scapegoat this season as he as cost us a few points also he don't half time waste for no reason.

new keeper in January I think. imo.

I thought that the item by Tails was patronising and condescending arran.Too often this season Pants has not been up to the required standard. Whilst we have several players improve under Karankas guidance Pants is still behaving erratically with little sign of improvement. We as fans are simply giving our point of view and should not be wrist slapped by Taylor for doing so. Any way he probably was at a loose end when he wrote said item. YOU REDS!

I’ve got a very simple solution - don’t read the naff articles in the local rag. Very few of them have any substance at all about what is going on the club, most of the content is formed from the opinions of the journalists - I can live without Paul Taylor’s opinions thanks.

Keepers commanding the area is not a current trend in the game as attacking teams work on blocking off defenders and keepers to free up a spare man.

Pants has his faults but gets bad press because of his height which still does not stop him from being pinned on high balls. Most teams set up for the defender to block leaving the keeper to shot stop where Pants is fine!

Cannot think of any outstanding cross gathering keepers at Championship level?

Pants isn't fine as a shot stopper, they bounce off him and back into the danger area, that's happened countless times and cost goals.
His kicking is also poor.

Pants can't jump to claim crosses into the box, as he'd bang his head on the cross bar! He doesn't venture off his line! To add to the errors, I forget who we were paying now, but we were 2 up, looking comfortable, and he threw the ball straight to the opposition striker who then scored. Difficult to defend the guy when there are so many errors in his game!

Let's be honest, he's a calamity in net. Can anyone name anything he does particularly well? IMO his distribution is the worst part of his game. How many times do we see him kick the ball straight to the opposition or out of play, and how long does it take him to decide whether to kick it long or play it short giving the opposition so much time to reshape. We should have known though looking at his history. 15 years in football and only 205 appearances to show for it, and 115 of those were at the start of his career for a nobody Romanian team. He's only ever been employed as a back up to a back up and somehow he's landed as our first choice keeper.

Completely agree Gazza, only hope AK does too and to be fair to him he has addressed our problem areas so far, as the league table shows. I think he’ll sort this in January.

The defence is the only thing bailing pants out all the time and that's not through him commanding them are defence is looking weaker through injuries so the bailing out will stop if we're to move further forward it's a keeper we will need and I'm sure karanka will already have someone in mind I would say maybe pants will get better but he's been around the block enough times and as got no better

Skegs, If the manager is not happy with the recent form of Gulliver then why has Steele been brought in and not been given a run of games?

Lc took him long enough to realise Watson wasn't good enough, we just had replacements ready I'm guessing he just doesn't like something about steel
