Apparently only Wolves voted to scrap VAR out of the entire premier league. So, it stays. I find it unbelievable that Forest did not vote for scrapping it. With the mouthing off we gave last season, to see we did not vote for getting rid is a bit odd.

Unfortunately Chim, we made quite a few "odd" decisions last season.
Hopefully we've learnt from them.

We did make some great ones to though gazzi
Murillo, elanga and Hudson
Takes time to establish don't you think mate?

Selling Johnson was the best decision. Made 45 million profit and he's done nothing ?.

I agree Ff, we did make some great decisions. Those three signings were inspired.
With the same three promoted teams being relegated, it highlights how difficult a job we had staying up so whatever "odd" decisions we made, ultimately it worked out i suppose.
I don't think we made many friends along the way though.

DTP mate, I’d add Neco, Sels, Woody Aina and Danillo to that. Sanghere might come good as well, who knows? Anoniyi may well benefit from a good pre season to fully recover from his op, likewise Domínguez. With Yates that’s a basis for a solid mid table team.

How's your mate, Frank this morning Stokey?

07 Jun 2024 11:20:48
Haven’t seen him for a couple of days Gazzi mate. We were in Corfu Old Town yesterday and up late for breakfast today after a heavy night of drinking and dining.
I think he’s got one of the private villas with own pool etc on here, away from the hoi polloi like us ……. ??.

I’m never one to spoil somebody’s holiday by being stalkerish so when we we see each other ( and there are 8 or 9 restaurants and bars on site here) we just nod to each other. I must say he is very sprightly especially when you compare him to Sleepy Joe on the DDay footage. About the same age I believe?

Legless, Stella, Balloons et al whilst I’m on, interestingly I’ve discovered that the Bond film “For Your Eyes Only” was filmed around here. Also, that the spectacular scenery and mountains is caused by the movement of tectonics plates causing earthquakes around the Kefolonia Fault. Apparently Crete is heading towards North Africa at the rate of around 90 millimetres a year and it should collide with the continent around the time Derby next reach the Premiership………. ????????.

07 Jun 2024 12:54:43
Let's hope there's no earthquake while your there stokey people will be trying to evacuate while your telling them in great detail how the earthquake is going to happen how long it will take them to escape it and by the end of the lecture they would of all been swallowed up or just chucked themselves into the quake with boredom ????.

07 Jun 2024 13:00:43
That was refreshingly interesting for you stokey mate ???.

07 Jun 2024 13:40:32
Stella, the Ancient Greek philosopher Empedocles committed suicide by throwing into the erupting Etna. Pliny the Elder, ancient Roman naval Officer, soldier, naturalist and philosopher died whilst leading a naval operation to rescue citizens of Pompeii from the eruption of Vesuvius. He stayed behind to study it and was never seen again.
So I feel honoured that you have put me in such illustrious company ……. ??????.

07 Jun 2024 18:38:47
That is really interesting Stokey. Thank you for sharing.
Note to self - don't ever consider meeting up with this guy.

08 Jun 2024 08:40:15
Hey stokey was you a staff sergeant did you actually lock anybody up I can imagine a drunk and disorderly being bought in late at night and you taking his details and giving a lecture on drink and history I mean by the time you'd of done that it probably be morning he would of sobered up with the lecture by then and been released and you would never see him again because he would definitely not want another lecture from you ?.

I’m afraid Stella I did all my 30 years service on the front line, operational uniform PC and Sergeant, Detective Constable, Uniform Sgt and Acting Inspector. I worked Beeston, Hyson Green, Central, Broxtowe and Bulwell. I was never a pen pusher or Chiefs bag man, would have bored me rigid ( like I do you lot it seems) ?? Talking to people defused many situations and probably saved my life a few times. So I never tasered anyone or hit anyone with my truncheon or baton. Punched a few, but only in extremis and once had to hit someone with a chair! Another occasion threw a TV set at a bloke with a kitchen knife ( not Home Office approved admittedly).
As Kent says in King Lear “I can keep honest counsel, run, ride and MAR A CURIOUS TALE IN THE TELLING. That which ordinary men can do I am qualified in”!
