In the ( admittedly unlikely) event that England win this tournament will Bellingham's goal be replayed over and over again and be regarded as iconic in our comeback from the dead in the same way as Geoff Hursts in 1966. I remember his winner against Argentina as coming late on in that infamous match where Rattin their captain was sent off.
For all the frustration of the previous 94 minutes it was a thing of beauty showing incredible skill and technique.

Stokey old boy. The Argie bargie match you are referring to ended 0-0
You must be thinking of another match mate.

Oh no it didn’t,.
Knock out stage.
CARLO.

Stokey, your memory serves you well. Gazzi, must get a new football past glory info book, your old one is incorrect.

Gentlemen, you are correct. Apologies Stokey.
I was thinking of the 0-0 opening match against Uruguay.

Watch 1980 England v Argentina, watch Maradonna feel the presence of my mate halfway through the second half on U tube highlights. Late is the word.
Keegan, Brooking Clemence all in the side.

The difference between Hurst and Bellingham is Hurst is a gentleman, unlike the latter who is a overpaid vulgarian.

Manners went put the window with the invention of TV red Vale
The yanks rule and they ruined the English language as we know it
L9cal dialect is acceptable but not the American version.

Very true DTP. Just don't have any time for players who have no respect for the fans, and treat them with contempt.

Gazzi, no problems mate. I remember the Argentina game (I was 10 at the time) for 2 other things. Firstly how Rattin would leave the pitch after his sending off. Took ages and he had a Police escort back to the changing room.

Secondly, at the end of the game, the normally calm and equable Sir Alf lost it completely and physically prevented 2 England players (I think Nobby Stiles and Geoff Hunt) from swapping shirts with Argentina’s players.

He hadn’t recovered his composure by the time of the press conference either calling them “Animals”. I remember Kenneth Wolstenhome, ever the gentleman, being scandalised and shaken by the events of that day.

Understand red Vale
Bellingham does give everything though and so does kane and was wise enough to sort it.
