Before I get shot down. MON is the manager and he will always have my support all the time he is in the job but.
At 66 years old I feel we have got him 10 years too late, also love Keane, an absolute belting player but his approach does not sit well with the modern footballer. you only have to look at his later days at Sunderland, Ipswich and more recently with Ireland. People will no doubt say "that's what the team needs"but I disagree. it will end in tears. I for one, cannot honestly say than MON is an upgrade on AK but I pray that I am proved wrong. COYR.

You are right about Keane: Brilliant when he was with us but deranged with Ferguson!. A bit cynical of me, but if he joins O'Neil it will shorten his tenure at the City Ground.(These tend not to be very long anyway).

2.) 15 Jan 2019 15:43:15
Age and experience do count, but so does being able to motivate players and getting the right balance in the team - I can't see any manager being better than MON at these things, and he is obviously up for the challenge. AK never ever seemed to get very excited by much, probably because he is that type of bloke, MON can show more emotion but also combines it with Reason.
This will probably be EM's last throw of the dice, and if it fails he'll walk away, so there is a lot riding on this appointment. Let's just hope he realises it's a two-season job.

3.) 15 Jan 2019 15:49:32
I think he's 62 East but totally get what you're saying. Maybe being at Forest will roll a few years back too.

Hopefully we'll have a manager for longer than 12 months for a change this time and hope that Martin brings the luck of the Irish with him.

4.) 15 Jan 2019 16:06:04
He will!!!! ☘️☘️☘️

6.) 15 Jan 2019 17:39:27
I have to laugh at people slagging keanes managerial record he’s won just as many promotions as a manager as Ak who some on here regard as proven

7.) 15 Jan 2019 17:59:33
I couldn’t care less if Keane had won the World Cup as a manager-he’s a Richard and that’s the end of it, I’ll have to put that to one side though and I hope he does the job on the pitch and training ground for us.

8.) 15 Jan 2019 18:04:11
I think MON is a motivator in the same bracket as Warnock, allardyce etc. I think he’s ok tactically - maybe not as astute as a more modern coach but should be good enough .

9.) 15 Jan 2019 18:54:35
I agree 2tone. Am hoping M ON will keep him on a tight leash.

10.) 15 Jan 2019 19:11:01
You can all say what you like about Keane but he’s been a winner all his career, perhaps some forest fans have forgotten what one of those looks like

11.) 15 Jan 2019 19:07:00
One of the beauties of not living in the local goldfish bowl is you get a more rounded view of reality! Welcome Eastbourne to the "Exile Club" !

12.) 15 Jan 2019 19:30:03
Most of the younger Forest fans have seen very few winners. At least us veterans have memories.

13.) 15 Jan 2019 20:19:53
If you’d have seen the way he treated a forest fan when he came back with Ipswich you’d think differently Stevie - he’s an R’s

14.) 15 Jan 2019 21:26:49
2tone you obviously had a bad experience with him so I can understand your position

15.) 15 Jan 2019 22:36:19
I can put that behind me and give him my full support though, we all make mistakes and misjudge situations at times. New era (again) so let’s get 100% behind the club and hit the play offs!!

To sack AK now makes no sense what so ever. We are finally making progress on and off the pitch and the club appears to want to shoot itself in the foot.? Some of the names being banded about as his replacement are laughable. Yes we have had too many draws but judge the man at the end of the season.

Eastbourne red

1.) 27 Dec 2018 20:47:08
People were saying don't judge on last season then it was judge after 12 games at least, then after half a season now it's a whole season lol, last thing I want is a new manager but ak is making the same mistakes week in week out and seems to stubborn to admit some things aren't working he moaned about players attitudes last January and bought loads of players in here we are a year later 26 million lighter and a squad of players he has chosen and he is saying the same thing who's fault is that ???

if its true that Middlesbrough are in for Britt? why not take Jordan Rhodes in a cash plus swap deal, say Rhodes plus 10 million? not that I want Britt to go as he kept us up last season but money talks.

Eastbourne red

1.) 13 Jul 2017 22:51:22
Rhodes is past his best and anyway Britt will end up in the Prem.

2.) 13 Jul 2017 22:54:43
Now at Sheffield Wednesday pal.

3.) 13 Jul 2017 23:19:17
Jordan Rhodes went to Sheff wed.

4.) 14 Jul 2017 10:41:39
Past his best at 27 Jordan Rhodes short career you've had lol past is best my ass.

5.) 14 Jul 2017 11:28:01
Talked to a sheff wed supporter last weekend re rhodes- he said that rhodes refused to take a penalty in the play offs because he was too nervous and he would be very glad to see the back of him.

6.) 14 Jul 2017 17:00:51
Well if we listening to other fans maybe you should read what Rangers fans said about McKay when he joining us.

7.) 14 Jul 2017 19:02:27
Don't need to talk to the fans about rhoads, Blackburn dropped him from their team, boro signed him and soon dropped him, wenesday have left him out too and Strachan would play anyone other than him.
He's a box merchant with no other skills and been sussed.

8.) 14 Jul 2017 19:42:46
jrs - i was only saying what a sheff. wed fan said to me and put it on here - get over yourself .

9.) 14 Jul 2017 20:23:06
If you read the comment on which I commented he'd already spoken to fans, Blackburn didn't drop him he joined his Dad who's a coach a Sheffield Wednesday I can see you and I 79 having some fun on here this season.

sorry” red balloons” didn’t realise you had to live in Nottingham to have an opinion on forest. ??

Manager, backroom staff, physio all gone in less than 6 months. BD apart, Fawaz has given a manager no more than six months. !That tells me that there is no long term plan, no understanding of the game, no patience.
And before people comment about No Fawaz, no club etc. he is a man who is a fan of the club, whose family have invested a lot of money but the club is in a real mess and as is proved he is the man who is making all the decisions. He must take a large chunk of resposibilty
What are McGovern, Faulkner doing there ?How can we be missing payments to other clubs ? Either somebody is not doing there job or like recent rumours does Fawaz have cash flow problems. ? OK sack SP but how many of us can see DF as the answer.

Well said, whilst i resist the temptation to call for the sacking of SP, we need stability and its no good to keep goonering managers like we have over recent years.
A great player does not make a great manager think Souness, Keane, Ince etc. Though as hard as it is, stick with the guy.

A lot has changed in the past year or so in terms of personel throughout the club but can anyone say that we are playing better than last season. ?
Before i get slated. Billy Davies was hounded out of the club in my opinion and whilst i am NOT saying he should come back, it is a case of be careful what you wish for.
Pearcey is rightly a club legend and many of us wanted Fawaz to get someone like him who cares about the club but his tactics/team selections appear poor and bear in mind he is not a novice having managed Man City, U 21s, Olympic team etc. Please tell me why you take Ince on loan and rarely play him ?Wilsons legs have gone and he plays players woefully out of position. Disappointing is putting it politely.
