"The Tigers are also set to sell defender Jack Hobbs to Nottingham Forest. Bruce had recalled the centre-back from a loan spell at the City Ground to provide cover for the injured James Chester but the 25-year-old is about to complete a permanent move to the Championship side. "

From the man himself just now on the bird site:
Danny Fox has this morning completed a loan move until the end of the season. He will join permanently in the summer

adrianthomas72

1.) In os now too

2.) Great signing - let's just hope this is concrete and doesn't turn in to another Hobbs saga. great work Fawaz and Billy.

3.) Great signing, a really good left back, nice work, Fawaz!
If we end up also getting Hobbs and one more striker some need to go?
Ed, who do you believe we will see leave before tomorrow night?
Forest Dane

{Ed034's Note - vaughan

4.) Would of held out for Wallace in all honesty, better player by all accounts. Hope he's better than the last left back we got from them

5.) Fingers crossed this means we don't have to witness Dan Harding in a forest shirt ever again. Worst i've seen in a forest shirt for years and a complete liability.

6.) Just like Hobbs deal?

{Ed034's Note - I think after the hobbs fiasco, I would be confident that fawaz would have made sure this is nailed on before announcing that

7.) I think a photo of him doing his first forest player interview and signing his contract isfairly concrete lol

8.) "He buys who he wants! He buys who he waaaants! Fawaz Al Hasawi - He buys who he wants!"

You Reeeeeddds.

9.) Speaking with a good friend who has followed Southampton for years, he said that Fox is good but not premiership quality, he also said we missed out on the best one aaron martin who has gone to Birmingham

10.) Just spoke with a friend of mine who is a Southampton fan and he said that he is glad they have got rid of Fox as he is very poor. Good at corners and free kicks, but gets caught out too much. Poor signing. Would have been good on a loan, but not permanent. Would have preffered Wallace! Unless BD can get the best out of him. Fingers crossed.
Scottish Red

11.) Great signing who has beeen outstanding at championship level. Change of scenery, may bring the best out him yet. Well done Fawaz!

12.) Nothing but positive comments on the Saints fans forums towards Danny Fox. People should also remember that he lost his place to the current best left back in the Premiership.

13.) Didnt know baines played for southampton haha because shaw isn't the best in the prem he will be in a few years but definitely not the best now

West Brom midfielder Graham Dorrans could be on the move before Thursday's loan deadline, with Nottingham Forest believed to be leading the chase. Up to half a dozen Championship clubs are interested in the Scotland international, with Reading and Derby also among those in contention. Source SSN

adrianthomas72

1.) Would be a cracking signing!

2.) Good player probably end up at QPR (hopefully Not).

3.) Good player but given that we need a LB, and CB cover and a striker. think a CM is some way down the list.

{Ed034's Note - just because we know we need a lb and then striker doesn't mean we don't take a player of this ability if he becomes available

4.) Which midfielder would you drop for him.
lansbury reid vaughen patterson.
its a flipping forward or two we bloody need.

{Ed034's Note - being as Reid is injured and the amount of defenders we have injured shows how quickly these things can happen, how would it be a bad thing bringing in a player of his quality??

5.) Has it been said how long lichaj and halford are out for ed?

{Ed034's Note - no

6.) Would love to see Dorrans sign for us, but to be honest I can see him going else where.

7.) If he arrives I see the midfield as Lansbury Dorrans Vaughan Reid

But that means no holding mid

And only leaves 2 spaces up top

So choose from cox, Mackie, Hendo, Patterson, abdoun,

No wonder Billy doesn't know what his best 11 is. too many choices!

{Ed034's Note - Vaughan is a holding midfielder

8.) It must be just me but I don't understand how anyone can concider having a midfield without mackie in the wide right position, last couple homes games he's been outstanding on the right wing.

9.) Totally agree with the above post regarding Mackie. He ran at the full back all game. If he continues like he is he will create goals.

{Ed034's Note - was my mom Saturday

10.) Dorrans is class. Would love to see him in the garibaldi.

11.) We are favourites to sign Dorrans at the minute. Apparently we are leading the chase. Like Ed said, although we still have quality in the centre of the park. I would not say no to Lansbury and Dorrans bossing it in the Championship.

12.) Could I just add he would also give options at free kicks+corners! And he could also score from the spot lol how many would be shouting the odds about why we didn't sighn cover in midfield if suddenly we lose a couple to pulls+strains? Take quaility while in a position of strength imo anyway.

13.) Vaughan can play left back as he started his playing days there, we would have a hard tackling left back who also could do a good job going forward.

14.) Dorrans signing would free up Jara to play in defence

Matty Fryup gone to the Owls on SSN. Thank god

adrianthomas72

1.) Praise The Lord!

2.) I can't see anyoe else comming in as there are no better strikers available, I think we may go for someone like Nugent in Jan.

{Ed034's Note - becchio, vaz te, velios, bowery, guidetti??

3.) There is a God

4.) No better strikers? Reality is a little different from footie manager

5.) Ed, do you think realistically think we could get any of those? if so why is it taking so long. BD must realise we need another striker for a few weeks now

{Ed034's Note - I am not saying we either want them or have gone in for them, I am just pointing out that there are players who are possibly available.

6.) Not be saying that in few weeks when he is bagging them in for them,
all the moaners will be on saying why didn't we sign him :{

7.) Don`t knock it until we see if and who we get in!

8.) Hallelujah!

9.) Biggest win of the season so far

10.) He's totally useless glad he isn't playing for us not better than what we've got!

11.) I'd like to see Becchio.
What do you think Ed?

{Ed034.s Note - me too but would prefer vaz te or guidetti

12.) 27 Sep 2013 17:42:59
I, m with u mate thank god he's not what he was a shame really because we do need a good striker that's what Wher missing

Hi Ed, do you know if there any plans for a press conference or anything tomorrow? thanks

adrianthomas72

{Ed034's Note - no idea but I would think Pearce just wants to get on with it, without any fuss

That defence today should give back this weeks wages. Absolute disgrace how 4 professional players cannot take care of one player in our own box. Don't get me started on our defence backing off every time. I don't think I can watch or listen to out last 4 games. I hope SP is up for a challenge as this lot need some sorting out.

adrianthomas72

1.) No passion, no desire no integrity. I am so frustrated. How could this happen? If Psycho knows about three things its passion, desire and integrity. Hopefully he can instill some confidence in them cause they are not as bad as they are performing at the minute.

2.) It baffles me how we can play 2 holding midfielders and still continously get caught on the break. Maybe because they ain't midfielders. I know we were pushing for a winner but blimey. Wide open!

3.) Halford was shocking today. Backing off and allowing them tocome forward. Rubbish! Should of come off. Was hoping vaughn would come on so yara could replace halford. Still, don't think the score line was a true reflection of the game. Roll on the end of the season.

4.) Halford is not a right back
Halford is not a Central defender
Halford is not a Forward
He is a Donkey

Happy Birthday to Brian Clough - would have been 79 today. Best manager England never had but the best manager Forest have ever had. Bring us a bit of luck tomorrow please BC.

adrianthomas72

1.) Yeah happy birthday big brian rest in peace mate

The whole team has lost its spirit and we will finish 10-12th this season. Billy has caused this with his attitude and ego and must go at the end of the season

Hi Ed, I have been positive all season even when things not going our way, but today I am fed up. Where is the passion and desire? I didn't see anything today other than a side lacking in any belief or urgency and a side who will limp to the end of the season in 10-12th place. Rubbish

adrianthomas72

{Ed034's Note - agree.

1.) I'm sorry to say that they appear to have given up. No graft today, no effort. Think that they have resigned themselves to the fact that it's not happening this year instead of rolling their sleeves up and making a go of it. Quite possibly the worst performance of the year. I fear for them against the sheep next week. Not sure if I can bring myself to listen to it.

2 seasons in the championship with Watford. 41 goals in 98 games. 21 goals in 62 games for Swansea in the PL. With all due respect we play flowing football like Watford (at that time) and Swansea so I believe he would suit our style more, and this is why he has not made the impression at Sunderland and Hull

I don't think Fawaz said imminent but "hopefully within the end of this week, or maybe into next week"
I can't see it being Rhodes due to the fee Blackburn would want - although, I bet the player would love to come to us after seeing us out play his side on Saturday.

It looks like Graham or Wickham, what's your gut feeling ed?

adrianthomas72

{Ed034's Note - sounding like graham

Fawaz has stated on the bird site that we want to keep the player, what else can he do to show his intent. No other chairman/owners would give us this info so publically. Give them a break

Just seen this on bird site, don't know how much you can read into it but interesting. Pearce managed 166 games won 39. 16%, Zola 155 games won 36. 13%, Clarke 60 games won 31. 67%, mackay 229 games 38. 86%

After reading the article about Warnock 2 things struck me. He was very glowing about our club but mainly if actually thought he could do a good job and get us up then why didn't he say to Fawaz lt me pick the team I know what i'm doing and I will get you up. For an experienced manager to say no to what he called a great job is rubbish. He bottled it.

At least BD gets us in the play offs. How many managers in recent year can we say that about. stay positive, losing run stopped, better performance and Reid back and a few others to come.

Stupid post. 1. You cannot win every game, every side will lose to a lower team at some point over a season. We had a very bad day at Yeovil and yes a few more lately but this is football. 2. would you rather be playing nice football in the championship forever? I would rather be defensive minded to stay in the Pl

Nice one ed, how about also all 22 injured in the scrap and all out for the season!

adrianthomas72

{Ed034's Note - wouldn't wish an injury pal, but a mass ban would be good
