This negative style is the England ethos. All the players have been indoctrinated as they've played it from the junior age groups all through. Hence Coopers style. The problem is, they've had success with it. But football evolves and were now looking behind the times. Or just outplayed. Time for something new I think.

I watched the Spain Italy game afterwards and they are both light years ahead of us in terms of technique, skill, organisation and commitment. Make no mistake, unless Southgate makes some decisive changes we are out soon. Might as well accept it, have a laugh and enjoy the tournament! ??.

I think sky and the premier league influence the FA that the biggest names have to play, out of position, disjointed team, doesn’t matter the coach is expected to accomdate them all. Sky and the prem want these top class players on show at the best tournaments, england never look like a team of players in my opinion and success isn’t guaranteed by thinking the best players can surely succeed with algorithmic football.
What has happened with English football has taken it globally stratospheric, all on all its probably a good thing for all concerned, out 2nd division is bigger than many top flights - that’s some achievement.
Everything has an unintended consequence though, and I think the national game bears the brunt of that cross. England now longer have an identity that differs that much between coaches (perhaps clubs don’t earlier ) it has continuity if a philosophy and looks to accommodate the. Biggest names, for me it’s been that post the 90’s.
I think overall it’s been a good tournament so far though.

It just seems like panic panic I'm in their half pass it back quite a few times we received the ball and could have moved forward but played it backwards I got bored and watched a Dragonfly emerging from the pond then a blackbird flew in and nabbed it isn't nature wonderful ??.

Rogie, mate, it was meant as a back handed compliment to a great player who must have enormous courage to not only carry on playing after a heart attack but to play at the highest level ( and show our all star midfield how it should be done). I wouldn’t have the bottle. I worry about the stress on my ticker just watching the Reds.

I died of a cardiac arrest almost 3.5 years ago now. They had to put a 'balloon' inside me to keep my heart going when they eventually re-started me.
