Yesterday marked a sad day for me. I had to throw away my quilted and hooded Forest coat which has seen me through many cold and wet winters. It had to be done, stitching had gone, stuffing coming out and zip bust. But it became my lucky coat, we didn't lose many when I wore it.
I will get a replacement but does anybody else have a good luck (and entirely superstitious and illogical ) item of clothing they were on match days? ?
( i'm dreading Stella's reply. ???)

I've got a black puffer coat aswell had it for several years now. It's my fave winter coat, although not a huge thick heavy coat it keeps me very warm. Leaks slightly in heavy rain but still going to wear it every winter for as long as I can.

My first Forest shirt was in 1968 aged 9 with the coat of arms on it.
I wear a much larger shirt now but it's still the same badge. Very faded as it's 56 years old but it's priceless to me.

Opposite to you stokey I thought I had a good luck item but for 10 year it seemed to bring me a lot of misery and bad luck so 11 years ago I got rid of the bloody thing I got a replacement from the pub and for the last 11 years I've been lucky happy especially on football days my beers always topped up for game I'm always left in piece and we're in the premier League my Mrs ?.

Clough mate that reminds me of the old Police overcoats that were allegedly water resistant ( cunningly not water proof) but used to absorb the rain like a giant sponge. By the end of a few hours traffic duty when it was wet you would weigh about 10 lbs heavier than when you started……

Gazzi, one of my Uncles was a chap called Bob Winson. He was on Forests books but never made the first team, then got injured and became a car salesman, long since passed away. He came to our house one evening when I was 9 and brought with him the square City coat of arms badge like yours ( and an autograph book where he’d kindly got the first team squad, Grummitt, Hindley, Winfield etc). Still got it.
My Mum sewed the badge onto a red football shirt ( plus a red stripe down the side of a white pair of shorts, bought me some red football socks. There’s a black and white photo of me proudly wearing the full Forest kit in the back garden.
The shirt is now faded to pink but the badge is still clear enough to see the motto “Vivat Post Funera Virtus” or Virtue Lives on after Death. ”.

I could still do a few laps around your recliner Stellaboy.

Stokey, my mum ( bless her ) sewed a no9 on my shirt. ( none of this buy it in the club shop back then).
She wanted me to be Ian Storey-Moore because 11 would have been easier.
The 9 had more straight edges than curves. I loved it though.

Gazzi - I think that even I could beat Skegs in a footrace,
