Great result, even better performance and a clean sheet
Thank God we now have a proper manager we deserve,
Didn't take him long to get this young team playing with confidence. Most of have seen the potential all season, stifled by a useless banker playing football manager.

The Greeks need to start showing their faces at games and show the fans they are serious, otherwise we have Randall and marikanasis who might as well be deceased.
At least fawaz turned up for games and threw his money away

Unfortunately Marinakis did'nt realise that he could not get his yacht up the Trent to park outside the ground on matchdays!

I see your point FF79. Maybe the legal situation with Marinakis in Greece is not yet settled and therefore he cannot leave for some reason. But I do agree - he would get a great reception if he appeared I'm sure, and it would be a bit of a boost for players and fans alike.

In the spirit of OBE

"Owners should be never seen or heard but just pay the bills and let the professionals get on with it"?

In Karanka we have a professional who knows what he is doing and has the T shirts to back it up.

So all the Formoaners and playstation managers just need to STFU and let him see out his contract and see where it takes us as we will be in a better place than when he found us?

What! How can you say that? Abdoun the bearded magician was a delight to watch, what a player. Remember when he demolished West Ham and QPR on Boxing Day.?He was brilliant til the β€œterrible” came, then he was tarred with the same brush. Adeline Guerdiorra, another superb Algerian, would have them both back tomorrow.

I still think his wages will be to high for AK's budget. Can't see it.

Agree2 1Disagree

19 Jan 2018 21:37:06
He's on 25k a week and has a contract till 2021 apparently?
Can you honestly see us competing with that?
If we want to get to the premiership then we will have to compete and give karanka a real chance of achieving it,the shackles will have to come off.

Agree2 2Disagree

19 Jan 2018 07:02:24
Karanka has denied bidding for clayton saying he is concentrating on " my own players "

Suttonpete: the worst thing would be to panic buy players who are cheap but are journeymen with no real talent as we have done in the past. Maybe we should just stick with our own lads, and bring a few more youngsters into the side.

Agree6 6Disagree

19 Jan 2018 11:11:08
Wasn’t wanting more youngsters in one of the reasons MW and co got the sack? We need experienced Championship players but I don’t hold out much hope of getting the Boro lads, they are the type of players we need. Not much time left to get deals done.

Agree4 3Disagree

19 Jan 2018 11:23:33
I think Karanka mentioned we had a very young side and suggested that going forwards he would address this so we are more balanced with experience as well.

I'd be surprised if we don't see 1 or 2 in during this window, there is probably more going on behind the scenes than we know, duck swimming analogy and all that.

12 days is loads of time:)

Agree2 0Disagree

19 Jan 2018 11:58:05
I have not assumed anything or stated he should or should not. I have never panicked being a forest fan, my glass is always half full and try and remain optimistic. I am certainly not one of these calling for a managers head every time we are on a losing run. We obviously need some improvement, but that comes over time. let's not forget were we were last season!!

Agree2 1Disagree

19 Jan 2018 13:00:43

We should be pleased that we are being more professional as a club not like the Fawaz days.
There is plenty of time to bring in the right players to improve the team

Let's not forget there is more than one team we can buy players from πŸ˜‚

Agree5 1Disagree

19 Jan 2018 13:23:33
From what I have read, we have shown interest in the Boro players, but can't match or compete with the wages. If we get some players out first, it then frees up some money for wages.

Agree2 1Disagree

19 Jan 2018 13:29:36
Daz - I don't think one of the reasons MW got sacked was for bringing youngsters in??? he got some youngsters in and then tried to get them to play out of position or in a different way. Bit like a site manager getting sparkies to do the plumbing :)

Agree5 1Disagree

19 Jan 2018 13:58:19
2Tone I was trying to highlight the fact that MW wanted to bring in β€œmore” young players to go with what we already have and the powers that be didn’t agree with that.So it was not β€œthe” reason but apparently it was one of them.

Agree2 0Disagree

18 Jan 2018 18:44:18
Karanka has said he's been asked to build side to maybe make play offs. But if missing out to finish almost at playoffs and more to push on from there for next season. If this is true then he must have been given at least 5m to spend now on right players if available.

Believable4 2Unbelievable

18 Jan 2018 20:31:42
No iffs about missing out we won't get near and 5 million is just about enough to bring a few scots south

18 Jan 2018 22:31:02
If the right players come in at right price.
I.e. Clayton 2m leadbitter 2m.
I'd try get jokic back for left back looked a decent player
Maybe Dawson centre back. I think this would set us up for rest of season and add again after clearout in summer.
Clayton not being picked so should. E available
Leadbitter is now getting games but contracts up in summer and is now 32.
Dawson contracts up in summer and might want to come home.
Jockic contracts up in summer.

I honestly think best we can hope for this season is a top 10 finish.

Agree4 0Disagree

19 Jan 2018 09:05:29
Maybe he hasn't bid for Clayton because he knows the wages he's on already and knows he can't offer the same?
Leadbitter the same premier wages, our owners want rid of high earners.
This could be a big problem for Karanka and who he'd like to bring?
As to actually who he can afford to bring in.

Agree3 0Disagree

19 Jan 2018 09:38:46
reports stating Leadbitter has signed a contract extension at Boro so count him out
shame, he would have been a good player to bring in

Forest are in for Sam Byram on a short-term loan deal. Byram returned to senior football in the 3rd round replay and Kranaka believes Bryam can help steady the ship at the back, whist also getting back to full fitness - whist a long term defender is sort after.

Believable2 4Unbelievable

18 Jan 2018 14:50:46
So is he not fully fit then because we have enough of them already just a point πŸ˜•

Unless he's holding midfielder and a tackler he's not for us. Would prefer Leadbitter.

Agree6 0Disagree

18 Jan 2018 13:45:59
Clayton is the sort of player we need, similar to Leadbiter though not the leader like him but is a box to box midfielder with a great range of passing and string in the tackle too. Either or both would really sort out our grit in the centre of the pitch.
Still need a LB and CB though.,.

As "Donald Duck" would say False News!

Bedroom Journos and Boro / Agent making up stories about Forest's interest in Clayton. Believe Karanka on this one.

Why? The reported deal in Leeds is a Β£4.5m fee to secure the deal.

Leg Biter is the Boro man we have always needed and as his contract expires in June and he will not get game time if Boro go up next year. This is now our time to get the most important signing of the window. No Question!

19 Jan 2018 11:10:26

A good friend of mine who lives in the Hucknall area attended Worrall's birthday at a local pub that way and was informed that Worrall has been seriously sounded out by Burnely over a move over to them this window. It sounded to him like it's further than just initial talks too.

As our club is still regarded as damaged goods we should make a bid to take Jon Flanagan on loan from Liverpool so both can repair reputations?

He has been put on the naughty step by his club so he needs to go somewhere to be looked after and get regular game time rather than join a Premiership squad

Great athlete and aggressive who can play on both flanks. Just what we need?

Believable8 1Unbelievable

17 Jan 2018 19:50:07
I'd love to see a rumour rather than a questions or news on here at some point!

Shall I get you started people? I've heard Karanka might be after a Premier League defender. Maybe someone older toward the end of their contract might be on the cards.

OK, so for the Red Trick Cyclist.

There is a rumour ECHOing around the Liverpool media that Flanagan will be sent out on loan as punishment for damaging the clubs reputation.

Klopp originally wanted to send him straight to Coventry but they could only afford peanuts and so is sending him to Brazil to crack him into place doing his Community Service in the Forest!

There is "No Question" that this move would be good both both parties!
