Apparently Paul Taylor (Not the Jounalist)is still training with us, him actually signing depaends on whether McLaughlin is moved on for the right deal, apparent several clubs are after him.

Dunlop47

1.) 24 Aug 2015 14:26:20
The problem with McLaughlin is that Southend have cooled their interest while they try and find an emergency replacement for the injured Cian Bolger. That is now their priority.

The other clubs that want McLaughlin are League Two clubs and McLaughlin will hold out until Southend are ready to sign him.

So we may have to wait a bit for McLaughlin to clear off!

2.) 24 Aug 2015 14:30:15
Looked sharp enough in preseason. Short term contract would be ok

3.) 24 Aug 2015 15:05:20
I have some reservations about letting him go, we haven't seen the best of him yet and we might just regret selling him. It might just come back to bite us!

4.) 24 Aug 2015 23:57:17
Saw enough of paul Taylor in pre season to suggest he could actually add something to the side. Looked energetic, lively and dangerous going forward. His contribution to the side would be head and shoulders over what mcclaughlin could offer

5.) 25 Aug 2015 12:39:25
Im not saying it would happen Keeno, but look what has happened with the player Chelsea are after Pogba Utd let him go now worth goodness knows how much.

McLaughlin could be the Championship version in a few years.

6.) 25 Aug 2015 20:54:08
No chance mate. League one player at best

01 Aug 2015 07:49:37
I believe the decision will be taken on Paul Taylor after todays match. Looking at his record at Ipswich he scored 1 goal in 16 appearances. Is there no one else available ?

Dunlop47

1.) 01 Aug 2015 09:16:05
We need players with a bit of bite that has been missing from our creative wallflowers!

Paul Dickov was never a prolific goal scorer but he was always in your face. Both Ward and Taylor provide this type aggression needed to sustain a challenge.

2.) 01 Aug 2015 09:45:36
Still worth a contract? How about wilson man utd!

3.) 01 Aug 2015 09:56:57
I for one will not be impressed if the loan striker is Taylor. Blackstock is much better, Walker will become much better during this season, Fryatt is also better if fit, so why get Taylor? To me would definitely be 3rd choice if he came in, hopefully will be someone else, still can't understand Maynard not getting a contract, maybe the club will explain one day.

4.) 01 Aug 2015 10:22:39
Cox got slaughtered for not scoring enough but always run his socks of a put a foot in,now we need those players?

5.) 01 Aug 2015 11:24:20
because he will be on less then 10k a week which is all we can pay I would take him,
players to score goals come at a cost and if it don't work out you end up having players injured and paying loads of money out on wages and end up in a mess
i.e us and now hopefully de@rby

6.) 01 Aug 2015 14:15:00
Taylor works very hard and seems to be a team player, not a diva. Until our strikers are on form he may be worth a contract but my guess he won't accept less that 2 years. We have midfielders who supposedly can score plenty.

7.) 01 Aug 2015 17:39:05
not a great rumour as he didn't even play ?

16 Feb 2015 09:16:00
Anyone heard anything on Jack Hobbs, seems to have all gone silent.

Dunlop47

1.) Also if if Hobbs is out for a few games we will need Kelvin Wilson, he did not make the 18 on Saturday, any news as to whether he is injured or just not fancied by Freedman >

2.) 16 Feb 2015 11:04:53
Expect find out today regarding Hobbs, Mancienne should be back in training this today and if remember correct Wilson later this week or next week as has a slight injury if I remember Freedman pre match conference.

3.) 16 Feb 2015 11:50:38
Unfortunately knowing Jacks injuries prob about 4 months shame because he's easily our best defender

4.) 16 Feb 2015 12:13:00
He pulled up with his hamstring so my guess would be a couple of weeks if not more.mancienne and Wilson both back in training today.

5.) 16 Feb 2015 15:08:13
Just hope it was more precautionary that they took him off

6.) 16 Feb 2015 16:02:23
He is made of chocolate, but by far our best ( only) defender!!!!!

7.) 17 Feb 2015 11:09:13
we are cursed when it comes to inuries - pure and simple

8.) 17 Feb 2015 13:01:14
Out for four weeks apparently according to nottm post

9.) 17 Feb 2015 14:16:53
Seems he struggles to play 3 games in 1 week Needs to be handled delicately in future

10.) If a player gets injured on international duty then the FA has to compensate the club. I think that Blackpool should have to compensate us for his injury. That pitch was an absolute disgrace and led to Hobbs' injury. They should have to cover his medical costs at least. There should be an official enquiry about the pitch because it is not suitable for this league. Blackpool find themselves at the wrong end of the table and desperate for points so they have basically ploughed their pitch so teams cannot play passing football, just in the attempt to scrape points here and there. It is as clear as day!

The football league really should be looking into this!!!!

{Ed001's Note - their pitch has been awful for years, I really hope your tongue was in your cheek there...}

11.) 17 Feb 2015 16:03:39
Who's next, just hate our luck, 4 week out after just coming back. Don't care if Wilson is ready, Hobbs is our only real class defender!!!

12.) 17 Feb 2015 18:00:17
Would like to see Laing and Reira given a go, see what they got for next year.

13.) 17 Feb 2015 18:19:34
Laing is at Motherwell on loan. I too would like to see Riera tried out. If we are that desperate then it also might make sense to put Kane at right back, move Lichaj to left and give Fox another run at CB - tho I think he didn't do so well last time.

03 Feb 2015 12:48:50
Are there any indications as to who is joining Freedman in the back room staff ? He worked with Paul Hart and John Pemberton at Crystal Palace, wonder if they are in the frame ?

Dunlop47

1.) 03 Feb 2015 13:02:33
I heard Lennie Lawrence

2.) 03 Feb 2015 13:41:49
I heard Lenny the Lion, possibly bringing in Orville and Cuddles :-) Who would have thought we'd be in these dire straits 2.5 years ago.

3.) 03 Feb 2015 14:07:30
It'd be great to have Pembo back, not so sure that we need Hart with the youth set up doing so well under Brazil, Macdonald and Lester.

4.) 03 Feb 2015 16:25:04
Brazil et al will be gone next.

5.) 03 Feb 2015 18:20:43
He said in press conference that Lennie Lawrence as assistant then he'll promote from within, Jimmy g etc.

02 Feb 2015 22:09:00
Apparently we have rejected a 3 million pound bid from Burnley for Lansbury.

Dunlop47

1.) 02 Feb 2015 23:37:28

Is it definite that these other 3 signings are waiting for clearance under FPP ? QPR have got away with their massive fine and seem to be doing exactly what they want, is it because they are a London Club ?

Dunlop47

1.) 04 Sep 2015 09:38:14
Easy one that YES !

2.) 04 Sep 2015 10:02:03
The length of time it's taking I think our foreign imports must be coming over by dingy via kos.

3.) 04 Sep 2015 10:54:36
Bureaucrats too busy getting their freebies from the internationals

4.) 04 Sep 2015 11:38:53
i think the league are a bit jumpy about QPR because no
matter what they do it will open a can of worms, if they fine them massive QPR take the league to court and if they don't
the s**t hits the fan with other clubs

02 Sep 2015 13:51:09
Apart from Chris O'Grady these other signings must be for the 9th September 2015 when the loan window opens, it does not really matter that we have to wait until next Wednesday to make them official as we are in the Intnernational break. There was no urgency or rush to finalise them last night. Unless someone has another explanation

Dunlop47

1.) 02 Sep 2015 15:00:29
Yes I think you are right, us fans need calm down and support our team coyr.

2.) 02 Sep 2015 15:08:10
Its all a bit quiet on the 3 additional players, maybe its an international clearance issue regarding 2 but what about the other from Palace. Perhaps the league sanction is taking time. I think the emergency loan window only covers a 3 month loan but surely we are not that desperate?

3.) 02 Sep 2015 15:20:17
The paperwork was submitted last night so the deals are in process.they say williams is done just waiting on other two.
Side note,Frey has had another op on his ankle!

4.) 02 Sep 2015 15:41:42
If its not finalised they could go somewhere else!!

5.) 02 Sep 2015 15:56:45
The same must apply to O'Grady. He is a loan player but the club have said everything is done and dusted with him. So I would suggest it has nothing to do with the loan market.

14 Aug 2015 08:18:24
Still no Strikers have been signed. The Club have known since the end of the season that all we would have would Blackstock and Walker. They knew Fryatt would be out for ages. Okay we have had a couple of trialists in. This situation is of their own making could put us in a relegation scrap very shortly.

Dunlop47

1.) 14 Aug 2015 10:53:19
Should we get Nicky Maynard back in, has to be worth considering over Paul Taylor?

2.) 14 Aug 2015 12:52:25
Didn't Maynard get injured after he left us.dunlop you make it sound like we can just go out and buy anyone,we are ver limited in what we can do.

12 Aug 2015 07:45:33
The result against Walsall is a disgrace, to concede 4 goals at home to a Division One side is not acceptable. The transfer of Lansbury is a farce the club say one thing and Fawaz says something different and the loan of Hamer enters the realms of Disney Land. Why are Walsall more up for it than us. Excuses, excuses.

10 Aug 2015 08:34:49
Are to assume that Paul Taylor was not offered a contract ? Nothing has been announced, We reallly have gone back to the days of not being told anything. Is Kelvin Wilson injured or not in DFs plans ? What about Osbourn is he injured ?

Dunlop47

1.) 10 Aug 2015 10:14:19
Kelvin Wilson was suspended for Brighton game!

2.) 10 Aug 2015 10:18:25
Taylor will only be offered a contract at the end of the window if we fail to secure a better option
Wilson was serving a suspension from last season
Osborn has been recovering from a shoulder injury.
This info is widely available in both club and local media.
The management apologise for not sending fans personal newsletters to their homes to keep us all fully up to date.Haha!

3.) 10 Aug 2015 10:22:49
The fa messed up with wilsons suspension and added a game on,so no he's not injured he's suspended but available now as Brighton was his last game.
The fact that Taylor hasn't been announced tells you he ain't good enough to have earned a contract.if I can take that hint I'm sure you could.

He moved to Watford for more money than he was on with us although at the time we did not seem to make an effort to keep him. I find it hard to believe he will not want more than the £10,000 we will be offering. Personally he has had his time and chance with us. Too inconsistent for my liking. Is he a free transfer then ? If he is still under contract for say another year I am sure he will have a figure in his contract for a large increase for being in the Premiership.

Antonio will be told by his Agent to emphasize that he wants to stay. Of course he wants to go to the Premiership when he will gain a huge increase in his wages and a signing on fee. Anyone who thinks he is staying is not in the real world.

longeatonred You may be right about who has been told to go, however why is not yet official ? Freedman said the retained list would be announced last Monday 4th May 2015. we are still waiting. Are we going back to the days when we are not told anything ? Tesche is not in your list, no one seems to think he is coming back and will stay at Birmingham, I thought he was out of contract ? Earlier rumours said Patterson was going. What about Laing ? Also earlier rumours said the if Newcastle were relegated then Lascelles and Darlow's transfers would be null and void and they would stay.

Matt Mills will want considerably more than £10,000 a week. Leicester got rid of him because of his high wages and replaced by Wes Morgan.

No he will nor be missed been very poor of later. He was okay when Billy was here the first time. By the time Billy came for the second spell he was just not good enough. I hope we can get a fee for him, we paid plenty for him.

The facts are that Lansbury wants to go, he could have stopped this a while and just said I am staying, he has not done that. His Agent has too much to loose to let this not go through and no doubt Lansbury will due a whopping signing on fee and a good increase in wages. It is a no brainer for Lansbury. If the Club at this stage stopp the transfer, we are going to be left with one very unhappy player

As regards Paul Taylor, the fact he was on the bench and did not come indicates to me that he is being offered a contract, unless DF is still thining about it withot seeing him play again. As regards the on going saga with Lansbury it is about time it is put to bed one way or the other. He is the Captain and it needs sorting, it must be unsettling for him and the team the closer it get to the first game.

What about Jamie Ward's injury problems, it appears he has been injured on and off for most of the season. We have too many sick notes at the club. He will not only keep Reid, Briitt, Vaughan company but you are missing out Fryatt, Hobbs, Cohen and Wilson.

Maybe Beckford, he has scored 15 goals for Preston on loan from Bolton this season. I would think they will want to keep him especially if they don't go up, he is 31 and maybe not able to cut it in the Championship ?

Be interesting to see if Dougie takes any of the 13 players released by Bolton especially as it is his recent Club.
