The S*n claim that Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has been sought out as Marinakis’ number one target to replace Nuno.

The former Leicester and Liverpool head coach is hugely admired by the Greek businessman and he has been courting Rodgers for several months behind the scenes.

"Leeds United are leading the race to sign Strasbourg winger Dilane Bakwa as we head into the final period of the transfer window. That is according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who reports the Whites are prepared to meet the French club's valuation of the player.

Tavolieri claims Strasbourg want around €35m (£30.3m) for the 22-year-old. Nottingham Forest are also said to be big admirers of Bakwa but United are currently at the front of the queue for his signature. "

A bit annoying, if true. Would be the icing on the attacking cake in my opinion.

Read the UEFA squad rules. We definitely do. You need 4 from your own academy to have a full squad. Plus 4 from any FA academy.

Even Wood counts as a homegrown. Aina does too. We have loads. We don't have 4 proper players from our own academy. If you accept we will not play Bott, then we have 2.

Hearing it's Edu and his massive ego that's the problem with Nuno. Edu apparently dismissed Traore without even taking a look, which peeved Nuno off. I think Mr M seems to be backing Edu's experience which again is annoying Nuno after all he has achieved. If this is the case then Edu is the problem and he's the one who needs to apologise or go.

The journalist later revealed that Nuno ‘has been considering his future long before the dramatic press conference’, with the Forest boss said to have been ‘fuming when Edu blocked a move for Adama Traore earlier this summer’.

Basically Edu won't sign anyone at the request of the coach. I get that it isn't Nuno's responsibility, but most bosses have some input.

We might still get Maffeo for FB.

Last month, Nottingham Forest offered €6.5m including bonuses to sign Pablo Maffeo. Negotiations weren’t successful as the Premier League club refused to meet the €8m requested by RCD Mallorca.

It’s clear that the fullback is unhappy and it’s becoming challenging for Mallorca to handle his situation. This was seen during recent training sessions, with the player said to have had a disagreement with Arrasate.

Cadena Ser states: ‘The player and the club are doomed to reach an agreement on a deal that satisfies all parties. ’

Nottingham Forest, who haven’t closed the door, can take advantage of Maffeo’s current situation and sign him for a reasonable price… perhaps even less than they originally offered.

Maffeo is not happy to still be at Mallorca. We made them an offer to take the tough tackling full back.

According to Cope, Maffeo’s ‘displeasure at not being able to leave is evident in training’.

On Wednesday, Arrasate asked him to leave training early because of his ‘attitude and a minor discomfort’. Cope do point out there wasn’t an argument or fight between the pair, but the manager wasn’t happy with what Maffeo was doing in training.

The decision to not accept Nottingham Forest’s bid for Maffeo has clearly not gone down well for Mallorca.

He wants more minutes than last season to become an established player. He said that himself. I think there was an issue about there being several top players ahead of him in his position, so wouldn't surprise me if Rico will be available but too expensive by January or next summer.

So we move on, sadly.
