The more I look at this squad, the more I think we’ll be playing a 4-3-3 with Watson sitting in front of the back 4. I do see potential in a 343 too with cash as a wingback. Needless to say I’m excited for the season and look forward to going to as many games as possible.

I imagined it more to be 4-2-3-1

2.) 08 Jul 2018 10:50:53
I would like to see him try a 3-5-2. But am not sure if it will happen though?

Does anyone know who the keeper is in the net on the photos of Forest’s first training session? Doesn’t look like smith.

Not seen the pic but maybe Kapino? Have u got a link to the photo?

2.) 25 Jun 2018 23:39:33
It was Smith, he just has a shit new hair cut!

3.) 26 Jun 2018 15:49:13
I hope it's nice and short to increase streamlining and hence improve agility!

4.) 26 Jun 2018 21:09:32
He didn't have it cut by Mrs Lichaj did he?

For the first time in a long time I looked at the team sheet and thought: Now that’s a team! I think the performance reflects that if you have a team set up with them knowing exactly what they’re meant to be doing we can perform well. We can’t say it was a poor side when they’re above us in the table, but I think having the system we did have and letting the team play their natural game shows we have a lot of potential.

Floresta

1.) 23 Apr 2019 10:48:25
Agreed, but we still need a goalkeeper who can pass to our players either by throw or kick.

2.) 23 Apr 2019 13:25:04
A bit like Randolph you mean ?

3.) 23 Apr 2019 14:26:51
Randolph was their best player tbf

That team selection has left me incredibly happy.

Finally having Carvalho in and on the left I can see good things.

Floresta

1.) 13 Mar 2019 18:57:26
We'll see what Carvalho does.

2.) 13 Mar 2019 19:21:33
Not keen on carvahlo seems to be better as impact sub bit I hope he proves me utterly wrong and I trust mons decision

James Wilson could be available on a free in the summer, could be a decent signing for us.

So my team for tonight will be a 4-3-3 with Colback holding and Yates and Osborn as box to box midfielders. I’d like to see Carvalho on the left and Lolley on the right with Grabban up top. This team to me will have a lot of movement and energy which will hopefully cause the derby team all sorts of problems

Floresta

1.) 25 Feb 2019 13:14:28
i would go 4-1-4-1

PANTS
DARIKWA
BENALOUNE
MILOSEVIC
ROBINSON

YACOB

COLBACK
YATES
OSBORNE
LOLLEY

GRABBAN

Carvalho i think would go missing in this match, maybe bring him on with 20 to go if its 0-0

I think the energy of Yates and Colback will be too much for Bryson and Huddlestone that's where the battle will be won imo

I’m hoping to see a few Youngsters today mixed with some of the first team. I’d personally rest Lolley, Carvalho, Darikwa, Colback and Yacob.

Guediora, Bridcutt, Osborn, Janko, Appiah and Ahmedhodzic to come in for Hefele. Could be 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 or even 4-2-3-1.

I wouldn’t say that. The issue lies with the fact that MON is taking a while to settle in and get his team set up but he’s not doing it quick enough and people are becoming disillusioned. He just needs to stick to one thing until the end of the season and if that’s round pegs in square holes then so be it. As long as players know what they’re supposed to do rather than what they think they should do we’ll improve. I think there’s too much freedom for too many players which is why we’re conceding and don’t look a team.

If you’re a good manager, you take average players and make them good, and good players exceptional. You make the most with what you have and bring in to improve the squad by buying players to turn a weak area into a strength. Since AK left, our strength of being fairly hard to beat has faltered, our attacking prowess has left us, and we’ve played more formations than in the previous two seasons. It could be argued that inconsistency in a shape is causing players to make poor tactical decisions which is then causing us to be easier to break down. AK played a system, it might not have been pretty or always effective but it was consistent and thus hard to break down. I personally don’t think MON should go, but I think if he doesn’t stick to a system he won’t be here come the start of next season.

15 games left. If we remain undefeated we’re in the premier league!

It’ll be 3-4-3:
Bena, New guy, robbo
Janko Pele Watson Osborn
Lolley bonna cash

I can’t see him getting in new signings without playing them. I think LWB will suit Osborn as it let’s him have his attacking play whilst using his pace and energy to get back. Having Lolley and Cash as inside forwards allows the wing backs to overlap whilst giving options to pass and cross.

Different managers rate players differently. Worrall was probably loaned out because AK had 4 players ahead of him in the pecking order. That’s 2 playing and a couple back ups. Walker is probably playing at his level now. The only issue I had was lack of depth at left back (as usual!)

Cummings would be a good player, he’s just struggling with depression. Clough has had his confidence drained and Soudani got an unfortunate injury. All 3 of these are IMO better than Murphy.

Carvalho hasn’t got it? Tell me who in our team does? Carvalho is a luxury player he needs others to do the dirty work because he’s not a defensive player but as I’ve said many times, he makes space for players to attack and always tries to play team mates in. The problem we have is that MON doesn’t seem to want to play him. I’d argue that it’s MONs issue rather than Carvalho’s.

Again, we have decent players however we seem to be struggling with crazy selections and literally no ideas on our team. It’s all well and good playing 4-3-3 but having 2 holding midfielders is just asking for us to be defending. You need to have 2 players linking midfield and attack and 1 holding to cover the others.

I think we just need to face the truth. We are currently a mid table championship team. We have some good players and some average players, this puts us in an above average position, most probably 10th. We also have a few players who have gone on their holidays so that may drop. How do we bridge the gap? In my opinion we need to play systems to get the most out of our good players. Lolley for example is at his best cutting in from the right, so why play him on the left? Carvalho might not be part of the rough and tumble brigade but his strengths lie in linking play between midfield and attack and making space for other players to attack. Matty Cash is learning his trade but looks to me to be more Frank Lampard than John Robertson. I think a midfield 3 of Osborn Yates and Cash would give us pace, stamina and an attacking threat but they will all be able to put a tackle in. My biggest concern is our full backs because Robinson is good but hasn’t got cover, and the other two aren’t convincing. Defence seems to be our current weakness but we need to move players on before we can get improvements in.

I think he left because Marinakis started questioning why he wasn’t playing players like Dias and Gonçalves and Appiah. Then results took a turn and he lost a few players.
I don’t think MON will be here come the start of the new season, I’ve got a feeling we might get someone new. Hopefully Chris Hughton because I can see him getting sacked if Brighton drop.
