Hearing Bassong, the former Newcastle, Spurs and Norwich Defender and Cameroon international, is another possible free transfer target! Can play centre back or Leftback and very experienced at 31 still got a few decent years in him, might want big wages but decent player in my eyes maybe just on a short term deal until end of season?

1.) 06 Feb 2018 00:27:34
What are we? scrap yard for old pros wanting a last pay day?
Karanka s had seven signings without picking up hitchikers.
He needs to focus on sorting out the defence and showing our jolly giant how to catch the ball and cover his near post.
He needs to show them where the opposition's goal is and get there as fast as you can.

He needs to show worrrall how to trap a ball.
Do the job you've been bought here for, youve been given enough extra tools to work with.
No more journeyman freebies it don't work.

2.) 06 Feb 2018 07:47:53
Your man should of done this with worrall your man also had 9months to sort the defence.yet you think karanka has had a couple of weeks and you think he should of sorted it by now!brilliant

3.) 06 Feb 2018 10:27:02
Just keep bringing in the out of work unfit players then Sutton.
These out of work footballers are a waste of space,Out of work for a reason, they're not good enough anymore, they've been there done that and got the t-shirt.
No hunger left in em?it's just another pay day.

4.) 06 Feb 2018 12:53:07
I think we're assuming a lot about these guys, like they're just here for the money. Look at Dejagah; out of contract for weeks but obviously kept himself in shape enough for 30 minutes of Championship footy two days after getting here. I'm backing them all to be a great success.

5.) 06 Feb 2018 17:04:52
FF79 is getting very shirty in his old age!

Some of the free agents were injured come contract expiry day and not renewed.

I trust Karanka over Warburton to pick up a player who can hit the ground running at left back in this league.

6.) 06 Feb 2018 20:16:07
Lets give em all a chance eh before flushing them down the pan.

Karanka is not a fool, let's see what the and the team can do between now and the end of the season.

7.) 06 Feb 2018 20:48:11
Bassong is woeful. Norwich were glad to be rid. I may be wrong but was Bassong not part of more than one relegated first team squads (different clubs). A bit Lescott esque?

8.) 06 Feb 2018 21:56:14
Not really red,i just don't share your confidence in Karanka.
Know the tactics and can't see were the goals will come from.
Just hope tomlin can do some magic, fitness being the issue though.
Not so long ago you were applauding Warburton and his vision of the future.
I hope Karanka proves me wrong starting against hull,a must win game

23 Jan 2018 23:56:36
Seen a few reports about us looking at this Algerian lad Soudani from Zagreb.
30 year old who scoring record is very impressive with more than 1 goal ever 2 games and top scorer in Russia and at national level.
Might be worth a punt but hard to know if he will transfer that form to Championship and don't want another Djebbour!
Reports in Russia saying we might be lining up a 2 million bid.

1.) 24 Jan 2018 00:11:06
Since when was Zagreb in Russia? 🤔🤔

2.) 24 Jan 2018 06:19:21
Forest don’t have much look with Algerian players.

3.) 24 Jan 2018 07:35:39
Which of our many manager bought Djjabour in?

4.) 24 Jan 2018 07:38:35
That luck has to change at somepoint but I think it's all paper talk I think we will only sign experienced champo players in this window and the foreign gambles in the summer as that will make integration that little bit easier

5.) 24 Jan 2018 10:55:09
But on the other hand if he turned out to be another Riyad Mahrez! That's the risk you take with any signing, I mean it's not like we've had any English, Spanish, French ect players who have flopped is it? Saying don't sign an Algerian player because he might be like Djebbour is like saying don't sign another English player because he might be like Mills.

6.) 24 Jan 2018 11:19:58
Completely agree Red Tech.

7.) 24 Jan 2018 11:34:12
so long as we sign him for less than million
And don't put him on silly wages. Like we did with other 2 Algerians

8.) 24 Jan 2018 11:46:00
I think his club want £2m

9.) 24 Jan 2018 11:56:14
Saying we don’t do well with Algerian signings seems to forget Adlene Guediora somewhat.

10.) 24 Jan 2018 13:20:22
I wouldn't be paying 2m for him.
He's coming from noddy league. On par with Scottish premier.
2 million could be better spent.

11.) 24 Jan 2018 16:57:53
This lad looks a lot more prolific than Djjabour to be honest. .49 international goals in 39 appearances!

12.) 24 Jan 2018 21:12:31
21 goals in 39 international is the true figure,68 in 162 appearances for Zagreb

13.) 25 Jan 2018 07:26:23
2m is very steep and at 30 he isn't getting any younger for a striker.

10 Jan 2018 12:35:52
Ryan Yates has signed a new two year contract with the club after impressing out on loan at County. Could have a huge future with the club.

1.) 10 Jan 2018 13:46:21
I'm pleased about that :)

At least it prevents us having to sell him because he only had 6 months left on his contract. That would have meant us pulling him from county and despite what county supporters think. We do actually want them to do well :)

Hope he can continue to progress :)

2.) 10 Jan 2018 16:23:18
Looks like he's moved to Scunny. :/

Disappointed with that but I guess it'll be good for his development and more money for the club.

3.) 10 Jan 2018 16:40:23
He's only going to scunny on loan, signing new three year contract with forest.

4.) 10 Jan 2018 20:07:55
Yes, I know.

Disappointed that he's not at Notts. I rather enjoyed seeing the forest lads doing well over the river.

I hoped we were building a good relationship so we could loan out more players and benefit as a city.
If they don't win promotion we will be blamed and they might be partially right.

5.) 10 Jan 2018 20:29:04
Another good stepping stone for Yates though,up another league with a side pushing for promotion.
I know Notts fans rate him highly, but the lad wants to make it with forest and this will be a good move and test for him during his development.

6.) 10 Jan 2018 20:31:07
Scunny are League 1 so is a step up guess if he makes the step up there and impresses like he has done in League 2 for County then he might be given chance next season for Forest!

31 Aug 2017 14:00:45
Heard in Italian press that we made an enquiry for Genoa Leftback Davide Brivio yesterday. Experienced in Series B and limited Series A experience, is 29 and former Italy youth international but not getting games at Genoa. No bid made as yet just interest.

1.) 31 Aug 2017 14:21:59
I am just trying to picture Frank McP and his telephone manner with this approach?
It is you we're looking for?
I can see it in your eyes
I can see it in your smile
You're all I've ever wanted
And my arms are open wide

COYR's Bravo Brivio Frank (Lionel) McParland

2.) 31 Aug 2017 18:34:32
If we got a new CB in,I'll be "Dancing On The Ceiling!!"

3.) 31 Aug 2017 19:07:13
Rogie we have a centre forward called Doddoo so ""Wake me up before you GoGo"!

4.) 31 Aug 2017 20:27:21
Maybe it's just a "Careless Whisper!!" 😂😂😂

19 Aug 2017 21:44:05
Good to see Chris Woods shouldn't be a Leeds player by next Saturday! Agreed fee to go to Burnley now so should be confident in getting something from that game too!

Was just looking at some other leagues in Europe and noticed Twente are bottom of the Dutch league however after reading a few reports I saw that one of Twentes few stand out performers this season with 3 goals, a 83% pass accuracy, starting 24 of 28 games is no other than Forest loanee, Thomas Lam, a forgotten man!
He is still just 24 and maybe if he has put some muscle on he might be due another chance under AK next season? He has mostly played this season as a defensive midfielder though had also played at centre back too. I had completely forgotten he was still on our books!

1.) 21 Mar 2018 19:16:43
Agreed he could develop into a box to box midfielder but the we will have Ryan Yeats pushing for a place next season.

2.) 22 Mar 2018 02:11:34
Yes if some of these lads have grown in strength and confidence out on loan maybe AK will bring them back before buying in certain positions. If we have Watson, Bridcutt, Geddy, Yates and Lam do we need to look elsewhere if Colback won’t sign or we aren’t willing to meet asking price?
If Tomlin signs will him and Clough be enough in attacking midfield, Osbourn, Lolley could also fill in there and if Grant or Walker return will they get a chance or will he cut loses with them. Also is it time to give Appiah and Edser a chance in the first team and Ahmedazovic next season? Personally I think the only major position we are crying out for is Leftback but if Fuentes proves himself before the end of the season with Osbourn and potentially even Lichij will AK feel that isn’t priority?!? Will be interesting to see and interesting to see who performs in pre-season too. Could Cummings come back or will Gomis step up? So many questions!!

3.) 22 Mar 2018 07:49:54
As it stands we have 34 players plus 4 loans in first team squad and that's not sustainable.
Take away Hobbs ward Henderson Cohen and Vaughan Fuentes dedeggah.
Still leaves 27 which is too large,so there will be a lot of departures.
Appiah Yates gomis edser aren't ready for this league and a promotion push, which is what is required by the owners,so he will buy.
He'll probably get pants on a free as he fourth choice and not wanted at Watford.
Then he'll sign a right back a left back centre back winger two midfielders and two strikers imo.
Eric traore manciene walker clough vellios Murphy Cummings ariybi evtimov boukalakis and maybe McKay will be moved on to make way for these new players who will most likely be proven championship players.
The kids coming through will have to wait as it's the premier that's the required goal and they won't get us there.

4.) 22 Mar 2018 13:37:18
Would personally be happy if we can sign Tomlin, Pants and Colback or a similar style of player in midfield. Sell Manchienne, Bouchalakis, Cummings, Traoure, Grant, Vellios, Evtimov, Ariyibi and Mckay. Buy a striker or two and a Left Back and a winger. If we sell Lichij then buy a right back if we can get decent deal. I would keep Clough for now and loan out Smith, Walker and Mcdonagh again and look to send Edser, Gomis, Appiah and Adhemazovic our on loans and bring Yates into first time setup. If we could get a real proven striker or two I would consider loaning our Brereton too.

5.) 22 Mar 2018 13:42:27
He's a good option if we cannot keep Colback, I like the idea of Watson and Lam in front of the back four. I'm also a big Geddy fan though so I'm not sure where they'd all fit in. One thing is for sure is next season we'll have great strength in depth across the pitch if AK can get a goal scorer in.

6.) 22 Mar 2018 13:42:27

7.) 22 Mar 2018 18:31:17
Lam . . are you being serious?

8.) 22 Mar 2018 22:35:21
Lam always had a good pass on him but was prone to the odd mistake and got pushed around a bit. he was a bit like Fox! AK has completely changed players mentalities and work ethics, having played a season away coming back to Forest whose to say Lam couldn’t also be a different player? Certainly worth a look before signing expensive players. I like Colback but his wages alone would be huge for us.

9.) 22 Mar 2018 23:28:59
Lam was prone to a lot of mistakes
Remember his debut against Burton
Scored a great goal but gave away two and continued to give goals away.
Too lightweight for me and same goes for clough and grant.
Karanka seems to like tall physical players and to be honest so does Warnock Bruce and Pullis and it's got them to the big time.
Lam has been tried and would be a step backwards.
We won't be signing expensive players anyway as they command expensive wages.
We need to get at least ten out of the door and lam is one of them he's not even as good as boukalakis and he needs offloading as well.

10.) 23 Mar 2018 00:01:44
I don't know what's wrong.Just lately I find myself agreeing with you 79 more and more.Sure it will be short lived 😂 . Regarding Lam,even without Watson, Colback,Guedioura,Bridcutt,Vaughan, i'd rather give Yates or Edser a run than play him.Sorry but he is one that has to go.

03 Mar 2018 18:38:52
Wasn't sure when Karanka was appointed but he has done great things. Today was proper. First time all season the players have looked well drilled and tactically aware at the games I have seen. The players worked hard, broke them down well and played intelligent football going forward. Tobias, Dawinkra and Fox looked assured at the back and even Osbourn did ok out of position (I am sure that is a position AK will look at in the summer), Pantillimon controlled his area and pulled off a couple of great saves, Watson and Colback worked hard box to box and protected the defence and Lolley and Tomlin looked exciting going forward and made things happen. Brereton and Cash looked more relaxed and Cash got better and better as the game went on. Only down side was that Murphy looks past it, hopefully he is just not fully fit and low on confidence and can still give something to the team but on his performance today I would be putting Vellios in front of him. If we play with that organisation and commitment for rest of season we will find ourselves safe and comfortable with with 3-5 games to spare I think and can build confidence in players who have lost it such as Worrall and Lichij and Manchienne going into next season.

1.) 03 Mar 2018 19:11:07
Never mind all that what about my usual money making bet, Dowell to get on the pitch ! First game he hasn,t got on since he came ,well you can,t have it all ways.
PS on a serious note really beginning to like Cash ,needs to see more of the ball ,Looking a prospect.

11 Feb 2018 15:09:22
All change please for Burton!

Darwinkwa Worrall. Tobias. Fuentes
Watson. Lolley
Brereton. Murphy

1.) 11 Feb 2018 15:19:00
Stop it!

2.) 11 Feb 2018 15:46:58
Is there anyone we can replace Worral with? Is Jack Hobbs totally done? I’d have Vaughan on the bench too.

3.) 11 Feb 2018 16:01:11
No Jack Colback?

4.) 11 Feb 2018 16:07:54
Replace Worrall with Fox. He's a far better centre back than left back.
Darikwa? You havin a laugh?
Vaughan should start every game he possibly can!

5.) 11 Feb 2018 16:32:05
Darikwa is useless

6.) 11 Feb 2018 16:39:33
Darikwa will play next week or cash will.
Eric will be cast aside now by kranky

7.) 11 Feb 2018 17:09:25
Mental mate we need the basis of at least 7 or 8 players to start gelling together chopping and changing so often when we are blatantly so piss poor is only going to spell trouble and for peat sake play 2 up front at home even if velios and Brereton or Murphy and Brereton, ply numerous crosses into the box and try and score goals. No goal at home since mid December is a crisis. We are such a joke at the moment its unbearable things got to change quickly or we going to be picking up the pieces in league 1 and we know how long it took us last time. In fact if it wasn't for Doncasters spectacular collapse in the last ten games we may well still be there so please lads start picking up a couple wins here and there just so we stay in this division. We are a long way off even contemplating pushing top 6 in the championship a major rethink is needed in the summer and i don't mean change of manager don't think I could take it again. Forest hired AK now need to stick by their convictions whether we like it or not, consistency breeds confidence, confidence earns you points lucky or otherwise. i'd rather 11 triers than 11 can't be bothered egotistical this is not working so I'll sulk like a baby players. Let's hope AK has acquired one or two decent additions.

8.) 11 Feb 2018 17:16:44
Cog I'm giving you the job for your tactics.
It's a no brainer that we can't play his preferred system.
So change it like you say.

9.) 11 Feb 2018 17:26:24
Absolutely! Vellios and Murphy together supplied with crosses would surely reap some goals?
Maybe bring McKay back and Lolly on other wing or Lolly and Dejagah.
Cash for all his effort isn't a winger and Osborn and Dowell certainly aren't.
We can't keep a clean sheet to save our lives so we must start scoring.

10.) 11 Feb 2018 17:33:51
Fred you can be his assistant.
I'm Liking that idea, but back to reality,it's not going to happen, mores the pity.

06 Feb 2018 13:32:43
So what we expecting team to be on Saturday? Will Watson start and play with Geddy and Colback in midfield or will Colback play left back? Is it time to rest Dowell after several below par performances? Will Tobias make his debut and Manchienne come in and will Bridcutt be recalled or Smith in goal? Bereton or Vellios up top? Will Dejagah get a start?!? Is a bit game and AK needs a big result!
Personally I would like to see.

Lichij. Worrall Machienne Fox
Cash. Watson. Guedioura Osborn

Dejagah / Lolley

1.) 06 Feb 2018 14:01:13
Think Ben Watson will be the new captain and if fit will definitely start.

2.) 06 Feb 2018 14:08:25
I like it - but I don’t think Cash is ready yet

3.) 06 Feb 2018 14:24:43
Not enough creativity.
Tomlin behind Vellios.

01 Feb 2018 13:38:11
Just watched the interviews with the new players and all of them said that working with Karanka was huge reason for coming, that speaking with players who had worked with him before everyone had a lot of respect for him! Think we have a manager who demands respect but respects his players too, also signed some great experience and some hungry players who have proven in this league they can be brilliant but most have been dropped in recent months/ this season and sound like they are keen to prove to themselves and the world that they are good enough. Got a few fighters in which is just what we need! Excited now for coming months!

1.) 01 Feb 2018 14:27:47
I agree to some extent with your point. However the ones who have left weren't really putting pressure on the starting XI. There is real competition now and even if there aren't wholesale changes on Saturday the pressure on those who do play will be ramped up knowing the players in the wings are more than capable of replacing them now not some hangers on who we couldn't wait to get rid of.

Honestly some of you who attaching our young players like Smith, Worral and Brereton literally make me sick. We don’t deserve to be anywhere near the premiership with negative fans like you. Get behind them, it isn’t ideal having to play kids but they been better than our other more senior players and young players generally thrive on games and confidence. Some fans booing them etc have helped to see them stutter and get in ruts. Everyone moaned about Smiths disruption and booed him earlier in the season, Pantillimon kicked the ball straight in to play about 4 times in both Ipswich and Brentford games. He might be better communicater but his experience should be, Smith still did well for a young lad.

Brereton is class. He is a kid still but his runs are excellent and this season he has added more physicality to his game. Strikers can’t score if they don’t get given the ball and he does not get given the ball in good positions enough and our midfield doesn’t see his runs. He also lost confidence at times this season due to lack of goals and service. Fans who expect a 19 year old to do better are deluded. Personally I expect more going forward from our experienced midfielders who between them have a lot of championship and premiership experience though Colback and Watson have no doubt helped to protect our defence, they should be able to hit 20 yard through balls and see Breretons runs, same with Geddy and Tomlin too! Lolley and Cash are the two that seem to link with B.B. most who are both relatively young and in experienced! Need a ply maker desperately

15 Apr 2018 17:26:14
If you watch his runs, Brereton makes some great runs and in a team with more quality midfielders with vision and better passing range he would get 5-10 one on one chances a game where as generally he get one or two if any! I think his confidence hasn’t always been there this season but yesterday he put in a great performance and hopefully will get confidence from that. Brereton has huge potential and I still believe if we can bring in the right players next season he could be a 20 goal a season striker for sure. It is out midfield that needs improving. We need a play maker and some more forward thinking box to box players.

Blidred you and negative fans getting on our young players back are one of reasons we struggle. Cash has been passionate and affective this season, maybe he isn’t always technically amazing but he works hard and is a young lad learning the game. Your comment disgusts me and fans like you are a disgrace to our club.

I know everyone is loving Fox right now but he will get injured and miss months at some point and he is in his twilight years. Think AK will be looking at Worrall and Tobias as two long term centre backs, can see him moving Manchienne on if we get decent offer. Surely a Leftback is still priority and can see Osbourn being utility player, sometimes at Leftback, sometimes on left wing and sometimes central midfield.
Agree on making loans permanent if possible and a striker personall think Rhodes could’ve a big risk and would be expensive. I would prefer the big lad at Wednesday Nuhui or Lucas Joao or maybe someone like Connor Washington. If we didn’t get Tomlin then Forestieri might be worth a punt. I am sure AK has his eyes on some loans and bargains from premiership too maybe and in Spain.
Will be interesting to see where he sees Lichij, Dejagah, Fuentes, Smith, Vellios, Bouchalakis and Mckays futures and also some of lads he loaned out. I still think Clough, Lam and Yates may come back in next season. I expect Vaughan, Hobbs and Cohen to go and Grant too.

No confidence. don’t see experienced lads like Watson, Geddy, Tomlin, Vellios or Murphy scoring either so might as well give young B.B. games! We have some great young players who at times have played good football but young players need encouragment and to keep confident, our fans get on their backs too much and our experienced players are too poor and inconsistent. Karanka got experience in on January and it did give a lift but now is showing that they aren’t all that as like it has before under other managers confidence is failing fast I think.

Personally would always prefer to see a young team going for games from the off, sometimes getting caught out and crumbling but learning than see a bunch of players most of whom been journeymen and rounding up their careers looking like they are playing for a draw at home from the start. MW worst decision was his coaches, his transfer policy with young players was fine (Cummings has scored more goals a game than bloody Tomlin!) and so was his attacking philosophy but defence was a shambles and that was due to whole team not just Smith, Worrall and Manchienne though they became scape goats. Karanka should be our defensive manager and Warbs our attacking! Both are floored though.

The last time we created chances in the box and potential tap ins was the game before Karanaka took over with his slow, defensive football. Remember QPR? Those early games this season with Osbourne, Dowell, Mckay and Brereton playing some great pass and move football and scoring goals!!! All our half chances last night came from balls over the top, no creative guile at all, is sad 😔

Agree with that and still reckon Warburtons 11 would best Karankas 11!
Midfield has been issue all season, under Warburton you had midfield bombing forward and likes of Osbourne, Bouchalakis, Bridcutt all getting involved in setting up and scoring goals but defence was exposed so we conceded too often and confidence did drain away but now under Karanka our midfield is too deep and though they protect our defence (making some people actually believe Danny Fox is a better player than Joe Worrall 🤣) and we don’t concede as often we have very little attacking prowess and don’t make chances or score goals, that combined with the fact our team is now about 7 years older average age is disappointing. I hope Karanka can built confidence back in players especially kids like Worrall and Brereton in summer and gives them a chance to shine with a few experienced additions, Lolley has been best signing or Tobias but Tomlin, Watson, Colback and Pantillimon are not the future of any team.
