I know its not fashionable at the moment, but the only answer to getting goals is TWO UP FRONT!

We can't expect any loan striker with poor service to score goals.

Would like to know what Murphy, Vellios and Brereton think. I wonder if AK has thought of asking them.

C'mon AK, fortune is only allied to the brave, try this against Reading, they won't be expecting it.

1.) 18 Feb 2018 13:57:04
Totally agree humourist. Won't happen though.

2.) 18 Feb 2018 15:31:10
We are only fans what do we know about football .
Looks like 2 up front is our current and last managers plan C .
In most businesses the customer is always right but the mugs like us go whatever fare is on offer gets these so called managers thinking how clever they are ,till they get the sack!

3.) 18 Feb 2018 15:34:42
It will happen when all players are fit and we have a defence and midfield that can defend together.

4.) 19 Feb 2018 09:18:24
In the modern game, you don't just hire a manager, you hire his ethos. Every modern manager has a way he thinks football is played successfully and they very rarely divert from that. We just need to hope we stay in the division and AK can properly implement what he's trying to do over the summer.

5.) 20 Feb 2018 13:01:49
Have a read about his time at Boro, seems there were lots of falling outs with the Board ,players and fans ,lots of boring stuff played ,yes he eventually got them promoted but it soon fell apart.
Seems similar to when Caldwood was at Forest and that wasn,t a good era .
Did the Greeks do their homework on him?

6.) 23 Feb 2018 11:04:48
I think he was unlucky at Boro they were struggling to adapt to the premier league, like most championship sides will do. When he left I think boro only picked up 4 more points from rest of the season, so him leaving sealed there fate.

He is good at getting his teams consistent, which is the first thing we need at Forest, give him time to get the team balanced and consistent then hopefully play some good football as there confidence grows.

A draw at QPR and a win vs brum, will do fine.

10.30pm last night Marinakis and Kominakis get the OK to buy the club.

1.) 18 May 2017 13:34:19
10.30 last night eh? Yet still no official announcement and according to Companies House still in the hands of the current owners.

2.) 18 May 2017 17:09:24
Deal complete. It will take a few days for Companies House to update the filing records.

11 May 2017 17:38:46
Hope I am wrong but I do not like the length of time it is taking for Marinakis to take over at Forest.

It was supposed to be 99 per cent certain to happen a week ago.
The longer it goes the more I am concerned but not as much as Fawaz who, if I was in his shoes would almost be saying "when am I going to get my money? ".

1.) 11 May 2017 18:02:09
Fawaz only has himself to blame, but the football authorities are probably relishing draging their heels, possibly messing things up for us.

Will it be a Portuguese pre-season tour yet again, or Skegness if Fawaz is still in charge.

2.) 11 May 2017 18:52:15
Further to my post on Marinakis. I know the EFL have got to be sure who they are letting loose on us because of the record of foreigners owning our clubs and fouling up but in his case he runs a successful football club. He is not a total stranger to the game which is more than I can say about some owners. So what's the hold up?

3.) 11 May 2017 20:00:28
Based on the Cellino saga the EFL will have no grounds to refuse him completing the deal. He has pre-empted a re-run of Leeds by doing a 50:50 deal with his buddy so when Greek politics go after him again and bring charges he can step down from being a director but maintain his shareholding.

Not an ideal start to new life but when Newcastle West Ham Liverpool ManU et al are all being investigated over irregularities is he going to be any worse than any other owner running a big football club?

We have already had our fair share of dubious owners but life goes on!

04 May 2017 16:33:14
There's a rumour afoot that Warbo will leave with 2 and half years to go on his contract if we are relegated.
Any one else heard this?
Personally I don't believe it or why would he have come in the first place knowing that there was always a risk of this especially as he was out of time to sign any new players.

1.) 04 May 2017 16:44:30
Daily mail and a couple of other papers say he could walk if mcparland doesn't stay.

2.) 04 May 2017 16:58:08
Would anyone be bothered?

3.) 04 May 2017 17:09:21
cause we really need to swap managers again right?

I'm sure we will stay up and then he can sort the team as he wants to with a proper pre season as well.

4.) 04 May 2017 17:13:30

That is exactly the reason, and attitude that has put us in the mess we are in, nobody has the patience to stick with a manager long enough to see what he can do.

Some fans scream out for a managers head after a couple of losses, or bad performances. When the owner listens, and sacks him the stupid merry-go-round starts all over again.

The only sacking i have agreed with after only a short spell is Mcleish, he was a walking disaster.

5.) 04 May 2017 17:22:35

Well said.

6.) 04 May 2017 21:31:09
Is he signing an extension before leaving then as he only has 2 years left on his deal?

7.) 04 May 2017 22:38:26
2018 only one year.

8.) 04 May 2017 23:52:49
Didn, t Mcleish walk?

9.) 05 May 2017 06:07:35
Tomorrow where have I called for his head? all I said was would anyone be bothered! that's not asking for him to be sacked nor have I gone on about sacking him. i just wouldn't be that bothered if he was sacked especially if it was HIM who wanted out as that would show that he isn't up for the fight himself! if the manager is willing to walk if his mate doesn't stay how can he get the players to believe in what he says?

10.) 05 May 2017 08:05:11

You are taking what was reported out of context, he did not say i'm off if my mate does not keep his job.

What he said was, in order for me to stay i want the club to be structured in the right way, it just so happens that his mate is quite good at one of those positions which that structure contains.

Was there not a manager, or two that refused to join us for the very same reason, at least Warburton was willing to gamble on not having a relegation on his CV by joining us.

Warburton's stance on the matter, whether we get relegated or not shows he wants to work in a professional environment, and that he is loyal to those who he trusts.

I would say that is a perfect example to the players, that have to be be professional, and trust everyone that thay are with, not just in the team, but the squad.

Warburton has a lot of baggage, but for the present he is our manager and we should be bothered whether or not he stays. The fact you are not bothered shows, and intimates that you would like him either sacked, or to walk.

He may not be the best manager out there, but in our situation i feel he is the best we can expect. It is about time both we the fans, and whoever owns the club stuck by mangers longer than five minutes.

11.) 05 May 2017 09:08:39
What makes you think Warburton has "a lot of baggage"?

12.) 05 May 2017 09:44:56

All that bread needs bags to hold it.

13.) 05 May 2017 10:26:06
Nice one. We are all toast come Sunday afternoon if the strikers don't baguette it?

14.) 05 May 2017 20:20:31
We will be the laughing stock of the yeast midlands thag for sure!

15.) 05 May 2017 20:47:55
Especially when the dough collapses.

25 Jan 2017 14:01:54
What really fascinated me regarding Stan's meeting with Fawaz is that the latter said he told Monty he could spend 6 million on players but that PM would not spend it! Unbelievable, incredible. What championship manager would not bite your hand off for that!

I hope someone contacts Phillipe and asks him if this is true. None of us are that naive but whatever payoff arrangements were made, they might include keeping your mouth shut.

1.) 25 Jan 2017 14:30:54
I see it's not taken Stan long to withdraw his help after talking to Fawaz. I think he's realised he's wasting his time.

2.) 25 Jan 2017 14:58:47
Monty actually said in one of his pre/post match interviews that he had funds to spend but was happy with the squad. He was probably hoping to get chance to spend some of it in this window?

3.) 25 Jan 2017 14:44:08
Stan's plan is a good plan, regardless of Stan's personal involvement. Sounds like he took some abuse from our ever so clever cyber fans. Lansbury's salary for a year would have funded most of what Stan wanted to put in place.

4.) 25 Jan 2017 17:52:57
Doean't look like the squad will be strengthened except by loan signings. No sign of fees from Burke or Lansbury. Fawaz peddling same old guff. He needs to sell the club as he has run out of money to invest in it.

5.) 25 Jan 2017 18:14:54
Red_Dog you're on here so are you not one of those cyber fans too? Stan was in it for himself and if he takes his toys home just because some fans rightly exercise their opinion, it show's what an equally weak character he is.

I take on board the criticisms of Michael Mancienne who I think is an excellent player.
The problem here is the role of captain is not suited to him and is a ton weight on his shoulders.
With due respect he is not a leader but is a good follower of instructions.
Take this responsibility off him and you will see a much improved player.
I have no leanings in particular who should be captain but I like this position to be from the middle of the pitch, someone who is in contact with both ends, so to speak.
As Geddy was so vocal on Saturday how about him or even Jack Colback someone who I think might relish the responsibility.
Better still, consult Gary Brazil?

1.) 11 Feb 2018 22:29:59
Exactly what I said Geddy for captaincy without a doubt I would and will give 110 percent for the forest shirt

2.) 12 Feb 2018 00:47:31
Mancienne is a poor centre back. His starting positions are all wrong. His anticipation is poor. Communication non existant. Distribution is sideways with no drive out of defence. His goal threat at set pieces is woeful and he gets caught napping. You might think its a bit harsh but he has been at the club for a few years now and he gets bullied and pushed around dragged out of position. Whilst on this position why has club not made a statement on hobbs? They were determined through the window to clear out the deadwood paying off the free loaders. I like hobbs but is he finished?

3.) 12 Feb 2018 08:10:09
Bit early and a bit drastic, bit my team for Saturday, taking in mind each player's performance on Saturday is:

Eric. Joe. Figuerido. Fuentes

Cash. Colback. Watson. Lilley

Ben b

4.) 12 Feb 2018 09:02:39
Obviously meant lolley

5.) 12 Feb 2018 10:44:40
I like that team but we need a creator - Tomlin will come good. I would have Murphy up front with Tomlin behind him, Brereton sub after 50 minutes for Murphy.

6.) 12 Feb 2018 12:31:24
I'm with you bsered I'd give Tomlinson an hour just behind Vellious or Murphy with Brereton to come on later if we are losing or Osbourne if we are hanging on. It would be great to see a bit of pace down the wings with lolley and cash/Dejaggah.As a footnote I'm concerned about how Smith must be feeling he hasn't done much wrong yet gets dropped for Pants who hasn't impressed so far and likewise Eric brought off at half time.

06 Jan 2018 20:44:40
could it be Mark Hughes sacked by stoke 30 mins ago.

1.) 06 Jan 2018 20:57:42
As great fans and all the money and time you spend on the club including on this site are you really bothered who the next manager is it was supposed to be a new start stability 9 months later all changed again as a fan do you not get pissed offf new manager coming 6 months later sacked it’s not good for the fans

2.) 06 Jan 2018 21:00:19
Although he is the most successful Fergie management protege and very capable I just cannot see "Mardy Mark" having any empathy with the fans which means the Fawaz and Billy Brigade will be kicking off from the start?

3.) 06 Jan 2018 21:31:46
Please no not Hughes even Billy thrashed him when he was at man city.
Great day out that was.
Even the city fans were singing your getting sacked in the morning.
He's had too many chances and on big budgets.
So no worries there really on ours.

4.) 06 Jan 2018 21:32:26
He's gone, accept it, move on. The new owners shouldn't feel they have to stick with someone just because they said they would like stability. You sound like a child who didn't get his own way. Like it or not we now supposedly have football people in professional positions, a chairman, chief executive, finance director etc not Fawaz and his mates who needed a job.

5.) 06 Jan 2018 22:05:42
Nice to see you used the word supposedly?sounds like your not convinced?

6.) 06 Jan 2018 23:21:33
If the odds are anything to go by then Martin O'Neill is the favourite for the Stoke manager position (2/1). I also see the Heckingbottom is now a massive favourite for the Forest job (1/5).

7.) 06 Jan 2018 23:39:36
I don't pretend to know anything about these people other than reading about previous jobs and roles at other clubs. These are experienced professionals so I have a bit more faith in this lot than Fawaz and his mates. Of all the realistic names mentioned for the job I still think Monk would be my choice.

8.) 06 Jan 2018 22:47:26
Ian woan burnley assistant manager any thoughts Sean dyche I'm sure would be a good teacher

9.) 07 Jan 2018 08:53:29
Know what your saying Jonny done a fantastic job with dyche.
My worry is that most assistant managers fail when it comes to being the boss outright.

05 Jan 2018 07:38:45
Surely today Friday the new manager must be announced.

1.) 05 Jan 2018 10:34:09
Only if the right man is available at the right price. Silence tells me Gary Brazil 'til the end of the season, especially if he gets a performance against Arsenal. Heckingbottom is using us to sort his Barnsley contract out, Monk and Karainka too expensive, Clough probably won't work with DOF, lower league managers all doing well and probably want to see the job through. Anyone I've missed, realistically? Better no manager than a bad manager, Brazil fits.

2.) 05 Jan 2018 10:45:43

Do you not remember, lsst time Brazil took over we had a few good results to begin with then it was downhill from there. So for me Brazil is not a option for the rest of the season.

3.) 05 Jan 2018 11:28:24
Grey, I agree. But, we beat Brighton 3-0 at home. So he does know how to set up a side. My only concern would be who would sign for a caretaker manager? Probably too much of the season left to risk it.

4.) 05 Jan 2018 11:37:40
If by some chance was manager for the rest of the season it would be loans, and recalls.

29 Dec 2017 11:36:05
Can anyone tell me if Evangalos Marinakis or his sidekick in Greece have ever visited the City Ground yet?

I would have thought he would like to see his investment.

1.) 29 Dec 2017 13:10:20
I'm not sure if he's been fully cleared of all allegations and if not would that restrict him travelling internationally? If he does appear, will he be wearing his grim reaper outfit?πŸ˜€

2.) 29 Dec 2017 17:37:04
He was at the cup game against arsenal not sure if he has been to the city ground yet

3.) 29 Dec 2017 18:02:10
I understand that when he previously attempted to buy the club he was often to be seen at the ground and was paying bills ect and even bought Vellious ,could this be the answer to the Velious mystery ,if things Don,t improve he,ll be seen there soon!

4.) 29 Dec 2017 19:17:24
Great owners leave the day to day running of the club to those they employ to run it.

I'm sure he gets reported to on the most important things, and gets feed/streaming of games, if not dvds of each game.

Why would the owner want to have fans that are not happy shouting at him.

01 Nov 2017 20:51:47
A stat that might interest some of you. Every year my wife buys me a Forest Calendar, and, its always interesting to see who is at the club towards the year end that as been featured.
One point is that if I played for Forest I would NOT want to be the feature player for January, it would be disasterous.
One year Billy Davies was featured in January and look what happened.

I list below 2017 Caendar in month order and let you figure it out for yourselves:

January. Henri Lansbury
February. Apostolos Vellios
March. Hildeberto Pereira
April. Nicholas Bentner
May. Pajtim Kasami
June. Brit Assombalonga
July. Chris Cohen
August. Thomas Lam
September. Mustapha Carayol
October. Damien Perquis
November. Ben Osborn
December. Matty Cash

Some have gone, some are injured.
I hope next year for some better luck!

1.) 01 Nov 2017 21:14:37
Weren't far out with Britt as it happens.

2.) 01 Nov 2017 21:17:29
January is quite a depressing month anyway, can you imagine turning the calendar and seeing prince billy?? What an awful start to the year that would be.

3.) 01 Nov 2017 21:39:06
I notice December was cash ?
That's when we all have to part with it.πŸ˜€πŸ˜‰

4.) 02 Nov 2017 06:21:08
Those stats don’t interest me at all humourist as I’d rather have the Kelly Brooke Callander.

5.) 02 Nov 2017 11:28:34

The amount of times last season when we lost by the odd goal and several cases lost 1.0. We need to score more goals and add to the forwards we have got. Its all very well but we will not be replacing with the equivalent quality so how on earth are we going to reach the prem. Already had my rant on the banter site.

If Brereton and/ or Britt leave then I will NOT renew my season ticket how are we to get anywhere if we sell any of these two. We've got an owner with money so we are going to let FFP ruin our club.
When Fawaz was in charge I could understand the reason for it but surely Marinakos can underwrite the clubs debts.
If not then why did he bother buying it as we will never get to the Prem.

Gazzared I have also seen details of these payments and I despair when I think we have an owner with spending power but FFP effectively stopping us doing much spending.
Its just not a level playing field and other teams in the championship in the same boat as us must think it nigh impossible to get into the Premier League when teams with parachute payments can have the pick of players because they can also afford to pay inflated wages.
I have not yet renewed my season ticket of long standing and will leave it to the last day before deciding.
I have supported Forest since 1950 but have never known such bias against so many teams in our league.

Forestforever79 What a contradiction in terms by UEFA!
Of course they have'nt sanctioned it because they had no jurisdiction. They want more stringent tests on prospective owners but I can't see the FA agreeing to that or those with the money will not buy into our league system.
If that were to happen it would be goodbye to the Prem as we know it.
There does not seem to be enough really rich British people who want to invest in our football teams. So hello Evangalos and Socrates.
