Anyone think Dias might be worth a go playing off Murphy or Grabban? He looks a bit tied down on the wing but seems to have something about him. He has pace, good feet and can take a man on. Not as lightweight as the other 2 Portuguese either. I know it was only a friendly against average opposition but the goal he scored running from the halfway line suggests he could offer something running at defences and give an option running in behind the back 4. I guess I'm hoping he could be used a little bit like Lucas Moura is at Spurs although obviously he's not at that level. Just a thought.

The Greeks have just signed Toure who was released by Man City so they have cancelled a couple of contracts to fund the move.
Nothing wrong with lining up the departing players with some options to smooth the way.

If Murphy plays like he did last night and stays fit and Soudani too plus Grabban finds form we will be ok. I can see Cash, Lolley, Dias and Carvalho all chipping in with goals. The worry is fitness as none of them are spring chickens and if we had two or even all three injured at once we would have to give Appiah or Gomis runs and that ruined Brereton I think. He had so much pressure on Jim to score due to having to play cause we had no other options. Karanka has said Today however that if players don’t leave and train well they could be given a chance so maybe Vellios and Clough could still have a future if they applied themselves. The other option is putting Hef up front, he did play as striker for Huddersfield a few times.

Just been reading an article on Brereton Nixon states forest are now willing to let him go to Blackburn and the only thing that's holding up things is the sell on clause if he was to reach his potential and move to a bigger club it will be a loan till January then a permenant deal don't no what everyone else thinks but I don't think we should be looking to sell season long loan deal would be better but not to look to sell him now he's only 19 and he will get better any thoughts?

In fairness carvalho has played quite well imo, always looks for a key pass and can dribble to not to mention his work rate.

I watched Brereton very closely at the end of last season when he was playing ever game and though he didn’t score his runs were good and he improved and scored a few good goals in the last few games. Forest shouldn’t sell him. I am not convinced by Grabban or Murphy and both are older and won’t be around for more than a few more seasons. Loaning Brereton might help him but in my eyes he could be our 30 goal striker within 2-4 seasons if he continues his growth. Personally I would be playing him at the moment as think with lads like Carvalho and Dias etc around him and team in high spirits he would get goals.

It's not the strikers,it's the tactics,
Grabban scored for fun most of his career at this level and so did Murphy,brereton won't score many eitherplaying karankas way.
Look at WBA they have rodregueze and have signed Gayle,but they play both together,answer is goals.
Karanka is too stubborn and set in his ways than to play with two strikers hence not many goals.
He's in charge though so we'll just gave to hope the midfield score the goals and get a few from the rotated strikers.

Right I'm seeing a lot of criticism against grabban honest opinion he's far from a bad striker it's not like he's getting great service from midfield and getting 3 or 4 chances a game. our midfield need to start supporting him when we are attacking the problem lies with karanka with his negative approach to games setting his team's up not to lose rather than going to win games even home games he sets up the exact same way we could have Messi up front and he would find goals hard to come by in this team I hate to say this but we are not going anywhere with this manager unless he opens up abit which I can't see happening I just can't see where the goals are coming from . we have the players to flourish in this laeuge but it seems there not getting the chance to they can't all be bad players.

Easy to blame the striker, bottom line is they don't get chances.
Today defensively and pressing higher up the pitch,it was a good away performance.
The problem is there's not enough pace to counter attack and hurt the opposition,mainly down to playing two holding midfielders imo.
So all I see is tight games.
Be nice to ditch one of the holders for home games.
