£14m + £2m in addons agreed between villa and Forest for Cash. Sad to see him go but that’s a good amount for a young player. I’d imagine we get £5m upfront of that with the rest spread over his contract period, then again I’m speculating.

Motivation shouldn’t be hard for the players next season. i'm interested to see what happens in the next 6 weeks. I’d imagine the players get a mini break from football of say 2 weeks then back at it for preseason. In those two weeks I think we will see a bit of movement on the player front. Whether that’s out goings, I’ve heard £40m for Worrall and Cash, Watson on a free, or incoming, Lyle Taylor, Colback as crews plus one or two other neat little signings.

I hope that Carvalho is sold for a good chunk, I’d take £5m so we atleast get some money back, this money can then be reinvested, and hopefully we will be able to get a push. I’m not overly concerned by the teams coming down, or up.

OMRIFTT

1.) 27 Jul 2020 09:11:22
Carvalaho is worthless. We won't get a fee. As for a break? It should be business as usual.

2.) 28 Jul 2020 15:02:02
Omrifitt reinvest? We’re still paying for carvallho mate.

Got to say, the team is shaping up nicely. I think even if we sell Britt our strike force looks good. Front 4 of Cummings, Osbourne, Clough and Mahoney? All young, all quality. To me it's sorting out the defence and trying to get rid of Hobbs. We need a good CB and a good DM. If we can get Britt for £10m plus leadbitter I'd be happy. That gives us a bit of money to improve the first team and have a quality addition in midfield.

OMRIFTT

1.) 15 Jun 2017 19:58:36
To let Britt leave to another championship club would be madness imo.

2.) 15 Jun 2017 20:18:46
Agreed.

3.) 15 Jun 2017 20:24:23
I agree, if the lad has not asked to leave and specified a particular club why aid a fellow Championship club. I do believe Wolves have no chance, they were not too many places above us last season. Someone said if we sell BA we are showing no ambition, if BA goes to Wolves he has no ambition.

4.) 15 Jun 2017 21:36:43
Boro are hardly going to be our rivals next season if we are being honest.

5.) 15 Jun 2017 21:38:58
He will not go to Wolves, Britt ain't Portuguese or a Mendez reject! Plus they core afford him! 😂😂😂.

6.) 15 Jun 2017 22:57:26
UTF on a downer before a ball is kicked, that's the spirit!

7.) 16 Jun 2017 06:28:35
How's saying that we won't compete with boro putting a Downer on the season already?

8.) 16 Jun 2017 09:28:39
Well it kind of is, isn't it?

9.) 16 Jun 2017 10:19:39
UTF

Newcastle, Norwich, and Villa were the favourites to go up last season, only Newcastle went up. There is no certainly Middlesbrough will go up.

10.) 16 Jun 2017 11:50:03
I never said anything about boro going up. iv said we won't be competing with them. totally different things.

11.) 16 Jun 2017 12:11:24
UTF

Yes you are right, you did not say they would go up, with where Norwich and Villa finished who is to say Middlesbrough will not finnish in a similar position. Warburton might form a squad to be near a mid table finish. Who at the start of the season thought Huddersfield would go up, the Championship is unpredictable.

12.) 16 Jun 2017 14:21:54
Like I said we won't be competing with boro. boro we're pretty good in defence last season in the prem but struggled to score, they keep that defence up and get Britt in we won't be challenging them.

13.) 16 Jun 2017 17:28:31
UTF! The sun is out! It's summertime! Get your Forest shirt on! Get a few down your neck, and lighten up mate!? 🍻🍻🍻.

14.) 16 Jun 2017 19:05:39
The sun has been out and iv been sat there fishing and was in the most relaxed mood you could ever be in and that is why I know what I'm saying isn't a heat of the moment thing, it's how I see it.
i would be having a few beers but iv got a 3hr drive ahead of me in a short while and that wouldn't be the best idea 😵.

15.) 16 Jun 2017 19:52:49
Think fishing season started early for some. lol🐋🐋.

16.) 16 Jun 2017 22:48:36
Boro, have more money to spend and will most likely have a better squad on paper, but you don't win anything on paper. We'll give them a good game. With two goalscorers, bright young talent with Clough, Bereton et al we will be awesome. 2 more dynamic midfielders and we will be a match for anyone. COYRs.

If I’m honest I think the issue is Grabban. Cash going hasn’t helped because from what I’ve heard he was a good lad and brought positivity. I wouldn’t be upset to seem Grabban shipped off and replaced with someone from a lower league. I think maybe it’s time to send Lolley off too. We must keep Worral and make him captain.

OMRIFTT

1.) 04 Jan 2021 15:51:28
We need to be looking for a new goal scoring striker now. we need a big man too as something different.

03 Dec 2020 06:51:01
I don’t think it’s a coincidence Worrall is back and we looked more resolute. I’m excited to see him and McKenna getting time together.

OMRIFTT

1.) 03 Dec 2020 07:13:06
Desant result last night, worry is would Colbeck have played if fit?. Big man won't be happy if he's sat in the stands.

2.) 03 Dec 2020 07:30:32
Not sure he will play them together OM, underwhelmed by McKenna personably .

3.) 03 Dec 2020 07:33:58
Why would you drop Figs after last nights performance.

4.) 03 Dec 2020 09:47:31
It made me smile that we kept a clean sheet with the 3 defenders everyone seemed to want to drop yesterday keeping their places and the only one they wanted to keep was injured. Just shows what we know. I personally think Figuerdo gets blamed for everything at the minute but he's not that bad a defender and always puts in shift. Glad to see he was part of the clean sheet last night. He has his faults but in the bigger picture no more than anyone else at the moment.

A point is a point and stops the run of defeats and may be something to build on. It just seems all our attacking options (Lolley Knockeart AMeobi and the rest) other than Taylor are out of sorts at them moment and we need them to get their mojo back to turn this season around.

23 Oct 2020 19:02:00
He’s gone 4-4-2.

OMRIFTT

1.) 23 Oct 2020 19:11:30
Grabban and Taylor in four, four, two, hopefully exciting stuff.

2.) 23 Oct 2020 19:15:46
Lets hope it works?
No colback is a bonus and Chris has probably seen that freeman is not fit enough?

3.) 23 Oct 2020 19:36:37
Or good enough.

25 Jul 2020 08:00:24
I’m not sure if I’m being overly positive to the point of denial but here goes:

If you asked me last season if I would have been happy to finish 7th only missing out by 1 goal I would have said yes!

Should we have secured the play offs 4 times over? Yes? Should we have capitulation in the way we did absolutely not.

The question is how do I feel as a forest fan? If I’m honest, I’m proud. I think we take back this “Play offs? Nottinthem Forest” memes that the derby fans at work have been mocking me with the last few days. We use that as motivation so that next year when we go up automatically we can reuse it!

OMRIFTT

1.) 25 Jul 2020 09:44:33
Omrifitt you’re being over positive to the point of denial,

2.) 25 Jul 2020 11:11:54
Good post Omriftt, I'm with you.

Steve, don't try and drag others down to your bleak level of optimism fella, it's only football:)

3.) 25 Jul 2020 11:39:01
Leeds made a balls up of it last year, but seemed to have learned the lesson well. Maybe we can do the same next year. It's a long hard rocky road to the Prem. I wouldn't have wanted to go up just to be relegated again. Every season we have to re-build, so next season no different.

4.) 25 Jul 2020 11:42:04
I’m sorry omrifit but no positives from me, until the last few days I’ve always been so proud to be a forest fan but now I just feel let down, disappointed and embarrassed. We deserve the flack from the direby fans - we gave them all the ammo to shoot us down with - no defence from me (guess that shows I’m definitely linked to forest 😞 )

5.) 25 Jul 2020 11:50:43
Ginger am just being realistic, you got your opinion of the fall out of this week, I got mine, I’ve not really attacked personnel too much, but I think the financial fall out of the failure could be long term.

6.) 25 Jul 2020 14:45:43
Im with you Omrifft
Yes it was horrible the other night but on reflection
I would have taken 7th too
More points than last season
The excitement of reaching 3rd/ 4th place during the season, being there or there abouts the playoffs most of the season.
Some great results against the cream of the division.
Youngsters from the club getting in the side and doing in general quite well taking in to account their experience.
A lot of pluses.
I for one am looking forward to next season and making that slight improvement toi make it to the Premiere League.
Happy Clapper still happy.

7.) 25 Jul 2020 18:22:51
Excitement or surprise . No players have excited me if I’m honest .

11 Jul 2020 05:48:33
The more I look at it, there more I think SL might end up going 3-4-3. I’m not sure we have defenders fit enough for it as it stands but in the future it might be his formation of choice. Half the time Watson is in the back 2 forming a three so it wouldn’t be a big change.

OMRIFTT

1.) 11 Jul 2020 10:12:48
I’d go with that. Don’t think Lolley will play any part today. I’d go
Samba
Figs. Dawson. Worrell
Watson
Cash. Sow. Silva. Ribeiro
Ameobi. Grabbon.

2.) 11 Jul 2020 13:32:48
If any changes are to be made. He'll probably just replace Lolley with Da Costa and Sow with Yates. Can't see a change in formation.

3.) 11 Jul 2020 13:49:39
Whatever just hope for a win just so we can have a bit more breathing space

Knockaert has always been a good player. I’ve always thought he was Class, I remember him scoring against us once and simply just celebrated calmly didn’t go over the top and got on with the game. I also remember James McClean scoring against us and shushing us with his middle finger to his lips, no class.

I’m extremely happy with this. I’d imagine we will go 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 under him. We might even go 4-4-2!

The difference is Yates has the engine to play box to box, how many times this season as he been on the end of things then back down the other side breaking up play or getting a tackle in. The lad might not be a technical player but that’s not his game. He’s a player who gets up and down and puts a shift in every game. He’s got time to develop his composure and distribution, the problem is people on here harken back to the old days and think we’re better than upper midtable championship. We aren’t. We are a good championship side, we haven’t been in the top league for 20 years, that’s 2/ 3 of my life time.

He can get a two there. I’d imagine he might go 343 with Lolley or AK behind them though that would be unfair on Mighten and Ameobi. You never know he might even go 4-4-2 with Arter and Yates.

Wing backs provide width. Lolley and Knockeart provide support in the middle more than the width, they are meant to cut inside and get shots or passes off. Ameobi is the only true winger we have.

I think Christie has done well. I think having Casual Colback as captain is a mistake. I think Ameobi always tries but the issue is confidence. All the chances we’ve had today and the past game we’re just players lacking confidence. The whole squad is reeling. Poor CH has inherited a squad lacking in confidence. For me the best thing to do is to play Mighten play Swan, play some youngsters. The expectation won’t be there and it gives them a run mix them With the players that look like they’re trying the youngsters enthusiasm will rub off on them. We desperately need leadership too. No Worrall or Dawson isn’t helping. Grabban and Colback are to casual to be captains we need someone with a bit of thunder and passion like Psycho was.

The Data Analysis is flawed, I say that as a Data Analyst. Lazy data analysis work, you need to take each individual part as in player data and stats for weighting’s of each player, then sum those up to give you a team score which needs to be applied to every game throughout the season and have things like psychology and confidence built into it to make it as realistic as possible then you can get a result. I don’t have the time to do it but that’s the only way you can manage it. It’s essentially what football manager does but that has outlying data such as the boost that you get as a manager as the game is weighted to make you as successful as possible.
