Motivation shouldn’t be hard for the players next season. i'm interested to see what happens in the next 6 weeks. I’d imagine the players get a mini break from football of say 2 weeks then back at it for preseason. In those two weeks I think we will see a bit of movement on the player front. Whether that’s out goings, I’ve heard £40m for Worrall and Cash, Watson on a free, or incoming, Lyle Taylor, Colback as crews plus one or two other neat little signings.

I hope that Carvalho is sold for a good chunk, I’d take £5m so we atleast get some money back, this money can then be reinvested, and hopefully we will be able to get a push. I’m not overly concerned by the teams coming down, or up.

OMRIFTT

1.) 27 Jul 2020 09:11:22
Carvalaho is worthless. We won't get a fee. As for a break? It should be business as usual.

2.) 28 Jul 2020 15:02:02
Omrifitt reinvest? We’re still paying for carvallho mate.

15 Jun 2017 16:55:44
Got to say, the team is shaping up nicely. I think even if we sell Britt our strike force looks good. Front 4 of Cummings, Osbourne, Clough and Mahoney? All young, all quality. To me it's sorting out the defence and trying to get rid of Hobbs. We need a good CB and a good DM. If we can get Britt for £10m plus leadbitter I'd be happy. That gives us a bit of money to improve the first team and have a quality addition in midfield.

OMRIFTT

1.) 15 Jun 2017 19:58:36
To let Britt leave to another championship club would be madness imo.

2.) 15 Jun 2017 20:18:46
Agreed.

3.) 15 Jun 2017 20:24:23
I agree, if the lad has not asked to leave and specified a particular club why aid a fellow Championship club. I do believe Wolves have no chance, they were not too many places above us last season. Someone said if we sell BA we are showing no ambition, if BA goes to Wolves he has no ambition.

4.) 15 Jun 2017 21:36:43
Boro are hardly going to be our rivals next season if we are being honest.

5.) 15 Jun 2017 21:38:58
He will not go to Wolves, Britt ain't Portuguese or a Mendez reject! Plus they core afford him! 😂😂😂.

6.) 15 Jun 2017 22:57:26
UTF on a downer before a ball is kicked, that's the spirit!

7.) 16 Jun 2017 06:28:35
How's saying that we won't compete with boro putting a Downer on the season already?

8.) 16 Jun 2017 09:28:39
Well it kind of is, isn't it?

9.) 16 Jun 2017 10:19:39
UTF

Newcastle, Norwich, and Villa were the favourites to go up last season, only Newcastle went up. There is no certainly Middlesbrough will go up.

10.) 16 Jun 2017 11:50:03
I never said anything about boro going up. iv said we won't be competing with them. totally different things.

11.) 16 Jun 2017 12:11:24
UTF

Yes you are right, you did not say they would go up, with where Norwich and Villa finished who is to say Middlesbrough will not finnish in a similar position. Warburton might form a squad to be near a mid table finish. Who at the start of the season thought Huddersfield would go up, the Championship is unpredictable.

12.) 16 Jun 2017 14:21:54
Like I said we won't be competing with boro. boro we're pretty good in defence last season in the prem but struggled to score, they keep that defence up and get Britt in we won't be challenging them.

13.) 16 Jun 2017 17:28:31
UTF! The sun is out! It's summertime! Get your Forest shirt on! Get a few down your neck, and lighten up mate!? 🍻🍻🍻.

14.) 16 Jun 2017 19:05:39
The sun has been out and iv been sat there fishing and was in the most relaxed mood you could ever be in and that is why I know what I'm saying isn't a heat of the moment thing, it's how I see it.
i would be having a few beers but iv got a 3hr drive ahead of me in a short while and that wouldn't be the best idea 😵.

15.) 16 Jun 2017 19:52:49
Think fishing season started early for some. lol🐋🐋.

16.) 16 Jun 2017 22:48:36
Boro, have more money to spend and will most likely have a better squad on paper, but you don't win anything on paper. We'll give them a good game. With two goalscorers, bright young talent with Clough, Bereton et al we will be awesome. 2 more dynamic midfielders and we will be a match for anyone. COYRs.

I’m not sure if I’m being overly positive to the point of denial but here goes:

If you asked me last season if I would have been happy to finish 7th only missing out by 1 goal I would have said yes!

Should we have secured the play offs 4 times over? Yes? Should we have capitulation in the way we did absolutely not.

The question is how do I feel as a forest fan? If I’m honest, I’m proud. I think we take back this “Play offs? Nottinthem Forest” memes that the derby fans at work have been mocking me with the last few days. We use that as motivation so that next year when we go up automatically we can reuse it!

OMRIFTT

1.) 25 Jul 2020 09:44:33
Omrifitt you’re being over positive to the point of denial,

2.) 25 Jul 2020 11:11:54
Good post Omriftt, I'm with you.

Steve, don't try and drag others down to your bleak level of optimism fella, it's only football:)

3.) 25 Jul 2020 11:39:01
Leeds made a balls up of it last year, but seemed to have learned the lesson well. Maybe we can do the same next year. It's a long hard rocky road to the Prem. I wouldn't have wanted to go up just to be relegated again. Every season we have to re-build, so next season no different.

4.) 25 Jul 2020 11:42:04
I’m sorry omrifit but no positives from me, until the last few days I’ve always been so proud to be a forest fan but now I just feel let down, disappointed and embarrassed. We deserve the flack from the direby fans - we gave them all the ammo to shoot us down with - no defence from me (guess that shows I’m definitely linked to forest 😞 )

5.) 25 Jul 2020 11:50:43
Ginger am just being realistic, you got your opinion of the fall out of this week, I got mine, I’ve not really attacked personnel too much, but I think the financial fall out of the failure could be long term.

6.) 25 Jul 2020 14:45:43
Im with you Omrifft
Yes it was horrible the other night but on reflection
I would have taken 7th too
More points than last season
The excitement of reaching 3rd/ 4th place during the season, being there or there abouts the playoffs most of the season.
Some great results against the cream of the division.
Youngsters from the club getting in the side and doing in general quite well taking in to account their experience.
A lot of pluses.
I for one am looking forward to next season and making that slight improvement toi make it to the Premiere League.
Happy Clapper still happy.

7.) 25 Jul 2020 18:22:51
Excitement or surprise . No players have excited me if I’m honest .

11 Jul 2020 05:48:33
The more I look at it, there more I think SL might end up going 3-4-3. I’m not sure we have defenders fit enough for it as it stands but in the future it might be his formation of choice. Half the time Watson is in the back 2 forming a three so it wouldn’t be a big change.

OMRIFTT

1.) 11 Jul 2020 10:12:48
I’d go with that. Don’t think Lolley will play any part today. I’d go
Samba
Figs. Dawson. Worrell
Watson
Cash. Sow. Silva. Ribeiro
Ameobi. Grabbon.

2.) 11 Jul 2020 13:32:48
If any changes are to be made. He'll probably just replace Lolley with Da Costa and Sow with Yates. Can't see a change in formation.

3.) 11 Jul 2020 13:49:39
Whatever just hope for a win just so we can have a bit more breathing space

06 Mar 2020 21:29:44
Can’t really complain, we’ve played well in the second half. Millwall just outfought is and game plan was better. Carvalho was class tonight, Ribero and Bostock have impressed me too. Semedo should not be in front of bostock he was awful. Was a tad disappointed with Lolley too.

OMRIFTT

1.) 06 Mar 2020 21:36:42
Am assuming your spellchecker turned the word crap into class.

2.) 06 Mar 2020 21:41:22
We’re we watching the same game?

3.) 06 Mar 2020 21:42:41
Was it only 3, we got away light.

4.) 06 Mar 2020 21:43:26
Cant complain? carvalho was class! nurse nurse.

5.) 06 Mar 2020 21:47:15
Carvalaho class? Utter dross. Started the avalanche with another shocking pass. His level is non league.

6.) 06 Mar 2020 21:50:39
Yep, strangely enough that was probably some of the best football we've played at home all season the second half but no final ball yet again.
Worrall and Figs need to start defending the ball at corners instead of the man.
Shame Matt Smith made a rare start.

7.) 06 Mar 2020 22:04:33
Not good enough really another team at home who from the off attack us and we crumble. We have had a good season but our home record is poor especially with such large crowds cheering us on, disappointed to say the least and I'm sure Lamouchi will be aswell.

8.) 06 Mar 2020 22:31:45
That wernt good in any department fred, no worthwhile shot on target and the cente backs got destroyed for once.
Semedo cost us tonight and said take him off after the second goal which was mainly his fault, not sure what he is but he ain't a twenty million footballer or a socalled defensive midfielder.

05 Jan 2020 16:43:53
It sounds like Mighton had a good game? Could save a few quid and play him rather than buying in someone else. I think we need to look at a new striker and ship off Carvalho. I’ve always been a supporter of his but I think he’s lost confidence and is looking to move away.

OMRIFTT

1.) 05 Jan 2020 16:51:01
Mighten had a great game but he could do with another stone on, got brushed off the ball easily but hey he's only a kid. What a future. You can understand why the sold appiah. This boys different gravy. 👍.

2.) 05 Jan 2020 16:53:59
Play him on the wing his natural position and he'll tear the championship up, have him on the bench and he can come on and play anywhere in the forward line.
Johnson needs to go out on loan and was impressed with fornah in his short appearance and he'd benefit from going out on loan.

3.) 05 Jan 2020 16:55:13
You meen got fouled alot,
He is a winger played as a striker.

4.) 05 Jan 2020 18:13:43
Tomori brushed him aside with ease on several occasions. Not strong enough to play up front. Much better suited on the wing against less powerful fullbacks.

5.) 05 Jan 2020 18:38:17
Fred he is a winger and about 5 ft 7.
Hes not expected to play up front and when you say"brushed aside he drew foul after foul when in possession.

6.) 05 Jan 2020 18:39:09
I agree about giving him a chance but yet again that would put a lot on a youngsters back what we need is a proven championship goalscorer as we got when we signed grabban that's what I expect if marankis is serious about getting us out of this league it's that simple.

7.) 05 Jan 2020 19:18:04
He got fouled a lot but also brushed off the ball fairly but easilly on several occasions where there were no fouls.
Like we both agree though, a winger not a lone striker. Definitely got promise but too early to properly judge after 1 game. Give him a few appearances off the bench in the blood and thunder of the championship and we'll find out a lot more about him.

8.) 05 Jan 2020 19:34:38
Agree but who would you put ahead of him to be on the bench at least?
I can't think of one.

9.) 05 Jan 2020 19:00:49
If you are good enough you are old enough, so some geezer said.

28 Jul 2019 08:45:48
Let’s get Welbeck in. he’s only after 50-100k p/ w!

OMRIFTT

1.) 28 Jul 2019 09:43:10
Well that is a hell of a gap in guesswork of his wages.

2.) 28 Jul 2019 10:21:51
Sooner have "Danny" Devito!
😂😂😂.

3.) 28 Jul 2019 11:06:26

6.) 28 Jul 2019 14:59:54

7.) 28 Jul 2019 15:40:13
Kylie! I would!

8.) 28 Jul 2019 16:28:04
Gazz, You would be so lucky, lucky.

9.) 29 Jul 2019 00:47:45
He'd need to be more than lucky.
Hes got as much chance as forest signing a real striker,

I’ve said this for a while but what they should do is put all games behind closed doors, then film it and put some games behind a paywall like £5-10 per game, season ticket holders get it for free. Then premiership games can be played 2 games a day every day one mid day one evening but on BBC one and ITV. That way those on lockdown have something to watch and there’s no risk to the public.

1 in 3 (ish) goal to game ratio. About £1.8m. Fair enough tbh.

I don’t think we’ll sell him, if they up it to £18m then I’d be worried but I think we should only sell for ridiculous sums.

Unless we generate close to £30m I don’t think we will spend more than £10m this summer.

I would say we need to prioritise a winger and a striker. Bring in a good CM or two (probably colback) then look at our defence, need to get cover for whoever leaves. I think we stand a chance getting some Wednesday players and Wigan players on the cheap.

It’s what football data analysts use. Issue is baseball they designed a team around getting on base, and defensively it’s not as bad. Football is a trickier sport because there’s no break between attack and defence it’s all in the same move.

I don’t think he’ll play Lolley tonight. I think it might be a Yates night too. I’d also imagine Ribero and Cash might sit it out too.
