Just like like to say reds, really looking forward to the six nations. Anyone can win it as the margins are so minimal. But come on England, swing low sweet chariot.

05 Feb 2026 19:46:12
With you on that mate, been looking forward to tonight all day. I like that the competition has been condensed this year. ?.

04 Feb 2026 15:58:31
Lucca's new nickname is Pizza Crouch apparently. Hilarious.

04 Feb 2026 20:14:44
Hope he can shot on target and not 'Slice" many wide.

05 Feb 2026 11:24:39
I really hope he's the "topping" to our goal scoring puzzle and doesn't flop like "anchovies" out of water. ?.

06 Feb 2026 17:17:08
I think 'Good' is the nickname he prefers. Maybe his English is OK after all!

03 Feb 2026 15:07:26
Who gave Trump a peace prize now wants Russia reinstated to international football, does he represent what fans feel?
CARLO.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Feb 2026 21:04:35
Yes, let the Russians play. No punishing fans for what their governments do. Keep politics out of football.

01 Feb 2026 17:34:40
Ok so I’ve plucked all my nose hairs out with a pair of tweezers.

Now I can’t stop sneezing, do you think it’s related?

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Feb 2026 18:40:50
According to the experts plucking nose hairs is a terrible idea.

01 Feb 2026 19:50:47
FFS there are nose plucking experts?

01 Feb 2026 20:27:44
I think it's just doctors in general.

01 Feb 2026 23:03:49
Class pineapple ??.

02 Feb 2026 14:09:25
Excellent! These posts have reminded me of Billy Connelly's brilliant sketch about the signs of growing old, including when one notices one’s pubic hair turning grey…. “ honestly, in a certain light, my Willy looks like Stewart Grainger…?????.

03 Feb 2026 16:25:44
Get some goosgogs!

CARLO.

Remember the life of brian, one of the best films ever for me. Just wish they were young enough to show how the premiership works. What did the premiership ever do for us. Actually probably just in there. Hate it all. Over paid players and underpaid fans. It's a sickness. I know I know, my own opinion.

Agree10 Disagree0

31 Jan 2026 22:41:12
Life of Brian is my favourite comedy film by far. Brilliant satire on how blindly people follow religion and attach themselves to a false leader who 'says nice phrases' they never even said but written by different writers to be believed as said.

01 Feb 2026 16:22:47
Wow 7 x thumbs up ernie ????.

01 Feb 2026 17:19:20
Just do you Silkman.

I’m not Religious however I believe in Jesus.
I don’t go to Church but I read the Bible and pray in my own terms, I guess that doesn’t make much sense to some people.

I also try to follow the Stoic Principles but now and again I fail.

We are all different Silkman and have different opinions, however at the end of the day that’s all they are opinions.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

01 Feb 2026 17:49:08
Ernie, just post you sad anti yank. Let posters give ya thumbs up you and dave the sheep are pathetic. Actually try posting forest.

01 Feb 2026 18:38:29
I just put what 'Life of Brian' is about. Nothing more. It's basically about the ridiculousness of religion. What did I put that was 'anti-yank'? I put nothing about the USA. I do post about Forest, but it doesn't always get put on. What does 'I believe in Jesus' even mean? Did you know him personally?

01 Feb 2026 19:57:49
Come on Silkman be realistic.

I believe he was a person same as Buddha.

Just because someone thinks a bit differently and has a different perspective in life than you do doesn’t mean they are wrong.

01 Feb 2026 20:43:08
I'm 95% certain he was a real person like Buddha and Muhammed amongst many others. But supernatural entities are for the birds. I didn't write the film I just know what it's about after watching it so many times. I just put what the film is about.

I wasn't having a go at anyone or any religion. It was Bowie that mentioned the film not me. I just got a torrent of abuse for stating a fact and it was a reaction that you would expect from a child.

01 Feb 2026 21:20:28
And a reaction you would expect from his messiah, TACO Trumputin.

01 Feb 2026 22:19:08
Ask yourself what book did you get the information from in the first place?

02 Feb 2026 07:53:50
From a book that is a collection of supernatural stories, myths and literary creations, DTP.

02 Feb 2026 19:02:53
What the Bible? ?.

02 Feb 2026 22:54:09
If you believe in Jesus, read a book called Nailed by David Fitzgerald. I think I found a free pdf copy via Google (the illegal downloading of pirated material is not encouraged by myself or anyone associated with forestrumours)

But I believe in Jesus. Great forward with bags of potential.

03 Feb 2026 00:13:55
The Killers sang "he doesn't look a thing like Jesus, but he talks like a gentleman" and i think the next line is "with a thick portuguese accent". ?.

03 Feb 2026 10:05:29
Damn shame we've played Arsenal twice now, i could imagine a Highlander style dual taking place, their Jesus vs our Jesus. "There can only be one", head rolling and all that. ??.

03 Feb 2026 11:27:26
Jesus is everywhere and lives in us all. ?.

10 Feb 2026 21:37:01
And they all lived happily ever after.

11 Feb 2026 16:26:03
Not really ernie gets on my t1ts.

28 Jan 2026 00:14:16
Mrs Legolas staying away atm, so I've just watched one of my favourite films - Platoon. This quote from the film sums things up I think:

'Keep your pecker hard and your powder dry, and your world will turn'.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Jan 2026 11:37:56
It’s a great film Lego. Oliver Stone “amended” those lines from Oliver Cromwell’s famous ( and much more practical when going into battle) advice to his Roundheads to “ Fear God and keep your powder dry”.
Cromwell is one of all time heroes.

On Saturday we took my Grandson to a re enactment of the 1644 Battle of Nantwich by the Sealed Knot. Great fun. Cromwell wasn’t present at the original skirmish ( but Ireton and Fairfax were).

28 Jan 2026 18:15:13
Didn't Cromwell's army massacre thousands of Irish and, in effect, conduct ethnic cleansing? Not a 'loaded' question Stokey - but I know you've studied this stuff and I'd appreciate your take on it. (I don't need an essay though mate! ).

{Ed001's Note - yes Lego they did. The Irish hate Cromwell.}

28 Jan 2026 19:03:00
Hey lego, during the civil have you heard of the Battle of Lostwithiel that took place in and around Restormal Castle? Its actually fascinating, Google it if you haven't it's well worth a read. ?.

28 Jan 2026 19:51:03
Yes Ed and Lego he did but as a Puritan and he no regard for Papists and thought of the Irish as spawn of the devil. However, neither side took any prisoners and the feeling was mutual. In pitched battles in Ireland he never lost one. Plus the Catholics weren’t entirely averse to a massacre of Protestant settlers either.
Cromwell was not only a great military commander but a massive influence on the eventual development of the Parliamentary democracy we enjoy today with the Monarchy in Parliament.
Bearing in mind Cromwells time was 400 years ago, his ideas were truly revolutionary and its effects to this day out of all proportion to his few years as Protector of the English Republic.

Have a read of “The Putney Debates”, truly incredible.
I’ve visited the Church in Putney, Cromwells house by Ely Cathedral and the battlefields at Naseby, Edgehill and Marston Moor.
Cromwell is certainly a controversial figure ( my Mums side of the family are Irish Catholics). Have a listen to Morrisey’s great song “ Irish blood, English heart “ to hear what I mean.

28 Jan 2026 20:54:32
Thanks Stokey, Winter and Ed1. I've got a day off tomorrow, so will have a 'historical' day doing my own research.

28 Jan 2026 22:16:56
Colonel Thomas Rainsford leader of the “Levellers” faction, Putney Debates 1847 presided over by Oliver Cromwell….

“For really I think that the poorest hee that is in Rngland hath a life to live, as the greatest hee; and therefore truly Sir, I think itt clear, that every Man that is to live under a Government ought first by his own Consent to put himself under that Government; and I do think that the poorest man in England is not at all bound in a strict sense to that Government that he hath not had a voice to put Himself under”

So, one man one vote, freedom of conscience and equality under the law 400 years ago…Just unbelievable isn’t it?

“Irish blood, English heart is what I’m made of
There is no one on Earth I’m afraid of
And no regime can buy or sell me
And I will die with both of my hands untied “
Morrisey.

28 Jan 2026 22:43:11
Stokey - I suppose my initial thoughts, without researching the history of the 1600's and hopefully not sounding too deep, is that I guess 'ethnic cleansing' has gone on throughout human history going right back to the days of the Homo Sapiens vs the Neanderthals. OK, the term was first coined in Bosnia when I was there. But, perhaps, 'ethnic cleansing', whilst horrible, is a human character-trait that has gone on since us humans emerged?

Anyway, I'll shut up now as Mrs L is now back home and I better show her some attention!

29 Jan 2026 18:56:38
I just remember Brian, the rounded big head ?.

30 Jan 2026 11:01:08
He was sometimes very “ Cavalier” on his TV interviews Bowie ……. ??.

30 Jan 2026 18:31:47
Winter - regarding the Battle of Lostwithiel, it really was fascinating reading when I researched it. In Army speak - 'knowing the ground' myself after walking around the areas described, I think that the Royalists did a 'job' on the Cavaliers. Also, and this rings true throughout the history of armed conflict to this day - never divide your forces.

Stokey - it's not very often I disagree with you mate. However, after researching Cromwell I've come to the conclusion that he was a right s***. Yes, he left a lasting legacy which was very good for England, but at such an expense of both English and Irish lives. I know he's your hero, but the Int Corps in me tends to think that he was a hyper-religious nutter. I saw the work of planty of those types in Bosnia.

30 Jan 2026 19:50:31
I thought you'd like it mate, love Restormal castle, been there several times, in fact the whole Fowey River valley is beautiful. ?.

Try 'Psycho', Stuart with his knowledge of Punk and General, he won the Celeb Mastermind! Acting. maybe?

27 Jan 2026 12:19:50
Badger, serious question, read a few of your posts recently and can't make head or tail of what your getting at, it's like a riddle only you understand?.

27 Jan 2026 15:24:31
Henry was a big ginger bloke with a beard, with a gruff voice, sound familiar
??
CARLO.

27 Jan 2026 16:02:04
Count me out Carlo, I’ve only had 2 wives mate! ?????.

27 Jan 2026 17:19:20
Once explained it's obvious ??.

27 Jan 2026 17:24:25
Yes Stokie but i thought you liked a bit of Chopin! What with you being highly sophisticated!
??
CARLO.

27 Jan 2026 17:27:06
Depends whether you’re channeling Damien Lewis opposite Mark Rylance in “ Wolf Hall” or Sid James opposite Kenneth Williams in “ Carry On Henry” mate.
Either way, keep your chopper well maintained and try not to get your Hampton Caught…. ?????
By the way, if you know anyone with a surname beginning with “Fitz” ( ie Fitzgerald, Fitzroy, Fitzsimmons etc) then there’s a very good chance they are descended from Henry’s numerous illegitimate lines of person sons.

He was the Boris Johnson of his day …
Hope that was useful Carlo? ??????.

27 Jan 2026 18:07:44
In my line of work I often encountered King Dick
??
CARLO.

27 Jan 2026 19:52:12
Carlo, your private life is nothing to do with me mate……. ??????.

27 Jan 2026 21:11:13
Thought your be a fan of his Minute Waltz Stokie,

CARLO ?????.

28 Jan 2026 11:50:33
I love anything by Chopin Carlo, my friend. The Minute Walz was the opening signature piece to the brilliant Radio 4 show “Just a Minute” ( where the teams had to speak for a minute on a given topic without hesitation, digression or repetition). Just superb entertainment …
The Preludes are probably my favourite. I’m reminded of the TS Eliot’s lines from “Portrait of a Lady…
“We have been, let us say, to hear the latest Pole
Transmit the Preludes, through his hair and fingertips.

“So intimate, this Chopin, that I think his soul
Should be resurrected only among friends
Some two or three, who will not touch the bloom
That is rubbed and questioned in the concert room”….

25 Jan 2026 21:30:01
I maybe upset a few people on this site regarding the comments I made about Bowie.

I hadn’t seen the posts he had made previously on this page and his recognitions of his drinking and what problems it can cause.

I am so glad he had already recognised what was going on.

The only reason I mentioned it is because I know the signs and have been down and maybe still going down that road, it is a constant battle.

So basically I just want to say not that it means much however, a big congratulations to Bowie and keep fighting.

It's just their opinion oggy, quite frankly I could not care less, don't like the gang warfare on bowie though just because he's married an American citizen and find the need to keep provoking him a tard childish.

25 Jan 2026 19:47:22
Thank you dtp.

24 Jan 2026 20:25:36
I've been biting my tongue on the subject so far Reds. However, I wonder how fellow-Veterans on here, such as Stevie and Keeff, feel about Trump's recent comments about the British Armed Forces? Personally, his comments turned my stomach and reinforced my views that the guy is at best an idiot, and at worst a deluded twisted man with serious mental health issues.

So, he has now 'walked back' on his comments, as the coward that he is when faced with anyone standing up to him. So what? It's like a bloke saying to a woman on a first date "Good God, you're ugly" - and then, following the subsequent slap in the face, saying "I didn't mean it baby, I actually think you're beautiful". It doesn't wash, does it?

I'm tired of Trump's ignorance and arrogance. I'm also personally hurt by his derogatory comments about the British Armed forces efforts in Afghan. I'd love to get the guy by the collar, drag him through a muddy field, and then give him a taste of retribution via my metal legs. Oh, and then take him to all of the loved ones of the 457 British service men and women who died in Afghan and beg for their forgiveness.

Agree4 Disagree0

24 Jan 2026 20:56:57
It wasn’t about the British Forces, more about the rest of NATO countries that sign up but don’t allow their troops on the front line.

Trump loves the British a damn sight more than that snake Starmer who is forcing through laws against veterans.

Just to add Trump hates the Globalist none elected Billionaires as he showed at Davos.

Don’t fall for the left rhetoric.

24 Jan 2026 21:17:48
My grandad hated the yank soldiers. trump just showed why there up there own arses without doing anything always join a fight late or try and get in there first in a battle they think they can win.

24 Jan 2026 21:50:50
Spot on pineapple.

24 Jan 2026 22:59:35
I'm trying to control my anger towards your post Pineapple. How dare you say 'don't fall for the left rhetoric' when I have served alongside soldiers who have died in Afghan? I have met with fellow amputees post deployment who are missing two legs and an arm. Just imagine yourself in that situation.

I sincerely hate civilians posting about Army operational-stuff that they simply don't understand. That includes both Trump and Starmer.

25 Jan 2026 07:45:40
I have nothing but gratitude and the up most respect towards Veterans and the serving members of the Armed Forces.

This is a very emotive subject and I can’t possibly begin to image how you and fellow amputees feel about your situations.

Trump is far from perfect and so different from any other politician ever.

I may not understand Army stuff but I understand gaslighting and political spin when I see it.

Just to add I standby what I posted.

25 Jan 2026 19:48:44
Brilliant post pineapple.

25 Jan 2026 19:52:43
We're both in a good mood following the win today Pineapple. So, I'm not going to make a 'scene'.

To explain, it was the last line of your post that riled me. I felt that one sentence crossed the line - certainly with me anyway. I am extremely proud and defensive of the memories of my fellow-soldiers who fell over there. The subject runs deep within me. I don't care about 'political rhetoric' theories - all I care about is the 457 who fell in Afghan, their loved ones, and the hundreds of other soldiers who returned home disabled for life. I hope that you can relate to that to a degree.

Anyway, well done Forest for the much-needed 3 points!

26 Jan 2026 09:54:17
Are we realising what Trump is now people?

29 Jan 2026 19:05:00
Hang on heres cyclist, loser of dog taken it out for a walk. Least I stand up to it.

23 Jan 2026 17:08:24

23 Jan 2026 17:55:20
He's 100% right because he's never wrong. At least in his own delusional mind anyway.

23 Jan 2026 19:46:29
He never once laid out our troops. You stirrer.

23 Jan 2026 20:16:22
He said NATO, Bowie. Which includes British soldiers as well and its disgraceful what he said. He won't apologise, Robin. Because then he will have to admit he was wrong which he can't bring himself to do.

23 Jan 2026 20:17:16
Last ever post on the discussion, kids. Obviously unless eds put it this way.

23 Jan 2026 20:22:19
He can't stir up much though bowie as he's only on badger 13 ???.

23 Jan 2026 20:45:55
Bowie mate, he did, said none of our troops stood on the front line. It's disgraceful. Watch the news, even Starmers p.d right off with him. If he fails to apologise, i can see this breaking NATO. ?.

23 Jan 2026 21:06:53
Unfortunately, he won't apologise. Sorry isn't in his vocabulary, Robin. Bowie can't see it for some reason.

23 Jan 2026 21:15:53
If we had any backbone we wouldn't send any UK representative to the 250th US Anniversary.

23 Jan 2026 21:38:48

24 Jan 2026 05:54:16
Good company for Trumpty then, Bowie.
He's in complete denial, Robin. He can't accept that his orange messiah is totally deplorable. An incompetent president and a despicable excuse for a human being.

24 Jan 2026 17:05:32
Like you fake flake.

24 Jan 2026 17:54:16
Better read Trumps latest statement.

24 Jan 2026 18:18:27
He shouldn't have said it in the first place. Next time they get what they deserve we should tell them to do one. The whole 20 years was a failure because of Trumpty anyway when he negotiated with terrorists and didn't include the Aghan government.

24 Jan 2026 18:26:58
Trump is always right.

24 Jan 2026 21:05:23
What about him cosying up to the owner of City at the recent powwow?

24 Jan 2026 21:48:13
