I'm all for experienced players to help the young lads but we need them to be In-between 25-29, 30 at a push. We do not need experienced players older, otherwise should we be lucky enough to get promoted in two or three years, we would have to rip the team apart. That is a no go for me you should not need to replace more than four players. If Monk thinks Downing is not good enough for the Championship, he is nit good enough for us.

Downing is one of the most over rated players of the last decade. How he was ever picked at international level I will never understand. Had a nice shot when he bothered to have a go.

Let's be realistic for once people and realise what sort of a club we are. Mid-table club at best and are fortunate enough to have a pretty decent academy set up. Nurture the youth and run the club at a sustainable level and the success will come.
Even if it takes us 10 years to reach any sort of promotion standard we can at least say we're a club that's improving and not getting worse each season like it has been the past 4 years. got to rebuild guys.

Couldn't agree more WB I've been saying that to the point of obsession! Stability and sustainability are the key words. FAH must be made to understand that he is the temporary custodian of our great club and must bequeath it and it's great traditions to the next generations and to our children's children. When FAH is long gone and forgotten the club must remain.

If and it's a big if Nigel Clough does take the job surely it will put an end to the trend of useless foreign loan signings? He has a great knowledge of bargain buys and will concentrate on using that knowledge to bring in lower league British players. These players are likely to want to make a name for themselves which is a positive. We can only hope as supporters that the majority of fans get behind him and back him. We have to look to a brighter future.

At this moment in time I just want a club that's run properly and honestly, plus a team that's proud of the shirt. Success would be nice but not the be all and end all.
