I am not anti-MW and think he's taking us broadly in the right direction. You can probably sense a BUT coming. But 10 defeats already is a terrible record. Tellingly, we have not drawn a single match (only Bristol Rovers and East Fife in all 7 English and Scottish professional divisions have also so far drawn no games this season) . To compete effectively and maybe become a promotion candidate, some more steel needs building in to enable us to close games down and scrap ugly for points. We have some lovely ball players but look physically small and weak compared to other sides. Some more power and muscle is my January priority.

Dr N

1.) 27 Nov 2017 12:00:15
DrN my posts have been saying that for a while now, the inability to get a battling draw. Fefending set pieces and closing down still seems problematic.
We are in a reasonable place in this league considering where we came from and promotion with this squad never a priority. Mark warburtln is so full of footbal cliche's that irritate.
The commentary on the bbc website said that forest are continuing with the warburton way of playing it out from the back but cardiff have them sussed and are closing down quickly and denying any space. mix it up please.

2.) 27 Nov 2017 12:50:55
He seems to be focused on playing "his" style regardless and use his favourite players when ever possible.
No plan B as we again saw yesterday when he waited till 70 and then threw on the subs???
I don't think it helps that he has never played at this level

3.) 27 Nov 2017 13:18:46
Reddog68

Did Mourinino, Fergusson ever play Premiership football.

Pearce, Di Canio, and Hasselbaink all played at the top, none were that successful.

4.) 27 Nov 2017 13:41:26
I would agree with all if you here, and think it sums up our situation pretty well. For me, MW hasn't done badly so far, but the inconsistency from his teams, and some of his erratic decisions has led some fans to question his ability. Personally, I think MW lacks the experience due to his non football background. He was fortunate at Brentford and Rangers where the cracks were papered over by the promotions, and you could afford to over look these short comings. For me, it's now all about getting the next transfer window right. We need more firepower, pace, defensive resolve and more creativity. The question is can MW create that winning formula?

5.) 27 Nov 2017 16:31:10
Grey and Red
Who has mentioned premiership football?
For the record we are in the Championship lol
The point being MW has only played non league where Furvason and Jose have played at a higher level and have nothing to do with MW

All I have said is I don't think it helps but it has made my day to hear a "fan" who thinks we are in the premiership 😂

6.) 27 Nov 2017 17:53:23
Reddog68

If i remember right Fergusson managed Man Utd in the Premiership, but never played in the Premiership, or it's equal.

Mourinino has managed Chelsea, and Man Utd in the Premiership, but never played in the Premiership, or it's equal.

They have both been successful in the Premiership as managers so their lack of playing in it has not stopped them from being successful.

Warburton has not played in the Championship, although I'm not suggesting he is as good as the above, if they can be successful in a league they have not played in why can not Warburton?

Very few good,or great players make good,or great managers.

7.) 27 Nov 2017 18:01:44
Red dog the point he is making is that you don’t have to have been successful as a player at a certain level to be a success when managing at that same level in the future. Blimey it’s tough going in here sometimes 🤔

8.) 27 Nov 2017 18:42:29
2tone
I got that mate but found it a little strange to bring 2 highly successful managers into it when we are talking about Warbo, hense the play on words and laughs
We can throw names into the hat all day
Gary "Rat boy" Neville played at the highest level under Fergi but sucked as a manager

I just feel that playing no higher than non league "possibly could" be a hindrance as he uses text book systems and can't call on judgements based on his experience of playing at a decent level
It either works or it doesn't which is why we don't draw

9.) 27 Nov 2017 20:13:54
Only Playing non league football shows your ability as a footballer not as a man manager or a tactician. I don’t always particularly agree with MWs tactics but I don’t think it’s got anything to do with his actual footballing ability or the experience he gained as a player. Non league footballers can offer a lot of positives that high flyers from the premiership wouldn’t even understand.

10.) 27 Nov 2017 21:09:58
As stated in my post, I don't think it helps
That's all I'm saying

11.) 27 Nov 2017 21:34:00
The other point to make here as well is Warbo is what I would call a text book coach. Having taken all the fa coaching badges, he has been trained in a certain way, and thus delivers his set up as such. An example of that is zonal marking. Ironically, Stuart Pearce is the same in that you have these set ideas, and can't or won't deviate when things go wrong, as the coaching badges don't tell you what to do, that comes from experience.

12.) 28 Nov 2017 06:08:15
My point exactly Murdoch

18 Jun 2017 17:21:09
As I have been posting for a while Britt will go soon and there will be no more signings apart from promising/ cheap ones. Disappointing but perhaps inevitable. I expect the likes of Cash and Grant to come through next season and if we can hold on to all our other stars Forest can challenge for promotion next year. Were Huddersfield and Reading really better than the Forest we saw in brief glimpses last time? I don't think so.

Dr N

1.) 18 Jun 2017 18:20:48
Under MW we played good football against the top teams, but was rubbish against defensive teams. That is no good if you want to be successful, until MW sorts out our defence and finds a couple of creative players success will not happen.

2.) 18 Jun 2017 18:52:34
We're not going to get promoted if Britt goes who's going to score the goals we can't relie on Cummings the Scottish league is a lot different to the championship.

3.) 19 Jun 2017 09:45:53
Pure speculation.

4.) 19 Jun 2017 10:48:11
So Dr N, because you have been posting for a while that means Britt is leaving, lol.

I've been posting for a while now that means I'm a super model.

I don't think anyone has actually made a bid yet have they? Personally if I was a buying club paying top dollar I would at least wait until Jan to see if he is injury free now.

5.) 19 Jun 2017 11:02:32
Cant see MW pulling the trigger on Britt. I'm sure the new owners will back him to keep Britt. I know we are buying young attacking players but Britt is the guaranteed goals.
Would be surprised if he went. Watch this space.

16 Apr 2017 22:41:27
It's not being negative to say that Friday's was the worst game outcome for a long time. Safety could have been assured with a decent performance but now we are faced with four tough matches. I am still optimistic but it is going to be a nervy time. Did Fawaz really have to sell the club right now? The speculation, in the middle of a relegation battle, must be unsettling for players and management alike.

Dr N

1.) 16 Apr 2017 23:18:23
You say 4 tough matches coming up! i don't see it like that I see it as 1 tough match and three matches where the other teams have nothing to play for. cardiff qpr and Ipswich will be just going through the motions of winding down the season and thinking more about next season. we have the beating of all 4of these teams maybe reading will put a bit more in but I recon 2 wins and a draw from last 4 matches which will easily keep us up.

2.) 17 Apr 2017 08:05:44
At the end of the day i would rather be in our position rather than Burton, Blackburn and Wigan.

3.) 17 Apr 2017 09:35:34
If you think Warnock will let Cardiff go through the motions your living in cloud Cuckoo land.

4.) 17 Apr 2017 09:42:26
Getting rid of FAH would be the best thing to happen to Forest in the last few miserable years. Some kind of agreement between Owner, Management (not just the Manager), Coaches and Players to concentrate on a club vision and strategic plan is desperately needed if things are to improve on the pitch, and fate decides at what point that happens, wherever the club are in terms of the EFL.

5.) 17 Apr 2017 11:42:12
The remainder of our games will all be tough, no manager let's their players go through the motions, the Nffc players are so inconsistent and you just don't know if they are going to put up a fight or just go through the motions! Anything can happen and probably will happen, will Nffc play safe during any games to just get a point? Especially if the three below us are losing, i personally hope not and we push hard to win every game.

6.) 17 Apr 2017 13:41:08
That is priceless, blaming Fawaz for Saturday's result. it looks like the guy is selling up and cutting all ties, surely that is a result.

7.) 17 Apr 2017 17:11:39
Nice to see Cardiff have nothing to play for, some people on here have no sense of reality we now have a simple 3 points to collect on Saturday really just get out of your dream world we'll be lucky if we get out of this relegation battle this season i sincerely hope I'm wrong.

8.) 17 Apr 2017 21:26:16
Just proves after today's results people saying that Cardiff, QPR and Ipswich have nothing to play for a total joke especially Ipswich stuffing Newcastle this relegation battle will go down to the last game, also Burton squad probably has half the talent as ours does just proves what players can do with the right attitude unlike some who wear the forest shirt btw fans where superb today again pity some of the players don't have the same passion.

29 Jan 2017 13:22:40
Latest reports suggest Nigel Clough having very serious doubts. You could hardly blame him.

Dr N

1.) 29 Jan 2017 14:11:17
Let's hope he does the sensible thing and stays where he is. His record ain't that good anyway and we don't need to ruin another legend. Pointless for him to come back now.

2.) 29 Jan 2017 15:47:57
Non league Nigel is bound to be having second thoughts, nobody in their right mind would want to work for Fawaz. And there lies our problem. The club is finished with this guy at the helm, there is no way forward until he goes. Fawaz thanks but no thanks, your time is up.

29 Jan 2017 09:48:10
Apparently the London meeting between Fawaz and NC was 'positive'but he still wants to interview other candidates. I shudder to think who he has in mind because all the decent ones have ruled themselves out.

Dr N

1.) 29 Jan 2017 10:01:27
Where nigel get the time to fawaz when fri he was in talks with burton and prepping for saturday.

I don't think there is a great deal wrong with MW's signings. Paul Taylor was spot on in the Post when he said we don't need better defenders we just need to defend better. If we agree that Forest can field a back 5 comparable to most (on paper and I do recall what BC said about that), then surely it's up to management and coaches to organise and motivate players to stop making error after error, often early in matches, which are costing us dearly.

Dr N

1.) 06 Dec 2017 12:28:37
When l see a proposed player is a good buy for the club do fans take into consideration the players around him under stand his weakness and make him look better than he rarely is by covering his flaws. In Eric,s case he is a player who also understands his fellow players and it would be crass stupidity to let him go.If he were to leave to a" better club" you would see how good he rarely can be.On Saturday get behind the club, no booing and not supporting the team , the away team get confidence from our negativity. All managers who visit here always say keep the supporters quite and the jobs half done.

2.) 06 Dec 2017 12:38:47
Dr N

Warburton did not sign 11 players so he still has players from other managers reigns, Eric is a good Championship defender, and Worrall has the makings of a quality Championship defender all the others are either injury prone or not suited to the Warburton way.

Warburton has stated a few times the lads need to do the ugly side of the game aswell, the fact they do not do it often enough can not be anyone's else's fault but the players.

No amount of coaching will stop players not being alert, that is a players place to be alert at all times.

I would say Warburton wanting players being flexible in the positions they can play stops him getting the best out of the lads, but no man management can make a player alert.

We need a couple of tall stocky vocal defenders that are comfortable with Warburton's way that can deal with a aerial assault and pass the ball with ease.

I would say other than Worrall and Eric our more established defenders will not, or can not improve their defending, they need to learn from their mistakes, but they do not so yes we do need better defenders in my opinion.

3.) 06 Dec 2017 13:35:12
lol grey and red man - 'tall, stocky, vocal, good in the air, good with the ball' add to that available at a reasonable price and sshhhh don't tell any one else they are available :)

4.) 06 Dec 2017 13:58:42
2tone

You are right, it would be hard to get such a player, it would have be either a loan, someone recovering from injury, or a up an coming player that needs a few wrinkles ironing out. That is what we need though.

5.) 06 Dec 2017 15:11:16
No grey and red man we need players that are going to stay at forest and play for the shirt not loaness that are going to go back to the club after half a season with us else were back to square one again of filling the gap lol

6.) 06 Dec 2017 16:21:32
We get done at set pieces all too often so zonal twaddle does not work. We get shredded on the break as defenders are out of position and the others make poor recovery decisions. we get stiffed by attackers running across the edge of our box and shooting unchallenged. Either defenders are no good or they get talent coached out of them. Summed up we are still poor in defence and show little sign of improvement here!!

7.) 06 Dec 2017 16:54:53
Skegsjay

Loan players are there to fill positions that can not be covered by either academy players or players that we are after but they prefer to go elsewhere, if loan players get us in a position that then attracts those players that perfered to go elsewhere then that is the way to go.

8.) 07 Dec 2017 20:38:20
We have plenty of good acadamey players its the game time they need in the first team and loanees take there play time up not. Looking for a quick fix time to build and a good owner and manager what we have bring good players in

9.) 08 Dec 2017 09:33:31
They also need to get themselves in the gym so they are not so easily pushed off the ball.

02 Dec 2017 19:36:31
Enough is enough. I don't want to hear any carp about positives to be drawn. 4-2 is a hammering. We have lost 11 out of 20 which is appalling. Either sort the defence out Warburton or move over and let somebody in who can.

Dr N

1.) 02 Dec 2017 19:57:16
Errrr doc I think you will find we won the match today as we had most possession.dont you know how football works?

2.) 02 Dec 2017 20:11:32
Balderdash. We lost 4-2. Give me an example of a team which lost lots of games but became successful because they 'had most possession'.

3.) 02 Dec 2017 20:36:19
breadman said they played well he was pleased. he he was looking after my money in the city i'd be bankrupt in a week

4.) 02 Dec 2017 20:55:56
Arsenal?

5.) 02 Dec 2017 21:05:56
How much time do you give a manager to change things at forest?
I would take a warnock or rowett style manager over what we have.
Tappy to me to you football looks pretty but it doesn't get you points, if this style isn't rewarded with a goal or two all the possession counts for nothing.
I have never been a fan of the breadman and each time i express a statement regarding his tactics i get slated but the ironic thing is the breadman is proving me and others correct.
Stability is needed but at what cost. ?
Do forest stick with him and take a gamble or do they focus on getting a manager with proven experience in the championship?
But. .who would want to come here to pick up the pieces where others have tried and failed?

6.) 02 Dec 2017 21:16:19
i think some people are being blinded by the possession stat.othere teams give us the the ball so we have the most possession but they do more with the ball with there smaller slice.what does that tell you?
Is still can’t get over that’s fans are happy that we have lost 11 games in 20 matches!if that was pm he would of been hounded out!

7.) 02 Dec 2017 21:35:07
If Fawaz was still in charge he would be out,but that never worked either,it's ok saying he has no plan b ,but what is your plan b?
Who would you bring in that would make a difference with this squad?

8.) 03 Dec 2017 00:22:18
Asking who we would bring in who would make a difference is implying that you think we should keep him just because there's nobody else available.whcih is just as bad as sticking with him.
Plan a should of been to get some decent defenders in and make us hard to be then introduce a better football style but with more directness if that’s what he wanted to do football wise.he skipped the first part which has lead to us losing 11 out of 20 games.his plan b now should be to play players in there positions ie wingers on the wing strikers up front and midfielders in there true positions and get back to basics.surley if he was half decent he could do this?back to 442 big and small up top with directness.
I personally don’t think it will be long til he loses the dressing room if it hasn’t started to happen yet.

9.) 03 Dec 2017 07:18:34
FF79 hi. learn to defend when opposition attacks. man to man marking and not switching off when passing the ball.
Set pieces are also another weakness. learn to clear the ball.
Adapting play to counter and overcome teams. able to switch play and formation.
Rough it up a bit with more venom and vigour. ie play hard but fair and bully the opposition and lastly utilise players to run the wings ie caryol mckay. even partner velios with murphy. .just my opinion but food for thought.

10.) 03 Dec 2017 08:01:50
The set piece situation is hard to sort because of the height of our squad,we must have the smallest (in height) squad in the league which makes free kicks and corners a massive danger.again that’s not the players fault as they can’t grow on the spot

11.) 03 Dec 2017 08:19:50
Looks like you two should apply, you'll get the job no problem, just show them your posts and how you know the tactics and formations and personell that should be on the pitch.
Can't fail,like you keep telling us"You can see what's wrong"😂😂😂

12.) 03 Dec 2017 09:28:38
So trying to make a joke of what is blantantly obvious is your way of replying as in the back of your mind you know it’s right.you asked what plan b is I have you what plan a should of been and what plan b should now be yet you make a joke when iv answered your question again it’s most probably because you know it’s right.
You are happy with the tippy tappy football even when we lose, why can’t we be more efficient in our play like others are against us?

13.) 03 Dec 2017 09:29:53
FF79. a typical response from you as always.
You seem satisfied with the way things are going. am i correct?
As for applying for the role it shows any walk of life can get into management. the breadman was a banker and now he's a fully fledged experienced manager with the cunning vision of a fox and the tactics of ferguson!
HELLO wake up man. .i think you and a few others are rams fans who come on here to instil an upheaval to the real fans on this site lol🤣🤣🤣🤣 either that or you are actually the breadman getting feelers from the fans to see how well you're doing.
Dear oh dear FF79. as BA Baracus said. "I pity the Fool".🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤣🤣🤣😉😉😉😉

14.) 03 Dec 2017 09:47:42
There's hope for you yet then, get your c.v in quick.
Fawaz and Sutton to the rescue
Even got the bank balance to do it.😂😂😂

26 Nov 2017 15:53:44
We just seemed flat today right from the start. Better when Muzzy came on and Cash looked bright as another sub. We missed two decent chances but otherwise never really troubled a powerful organised side.

Dr N

25 Nov 2017 17:15:28
5 today, 4 against Leeds the other night. Wolves are murdering this league.

Dr N

1.) 25 Nov 2017 17:33:28
Not surprised Dr N the amount of money they've thrown at it! They have star quality up front and are well organized at the back. They're the favourites atm but it's a long old season!

2.) 25 Nov 2017 18:20:27
It still takes a good manager stokey, many have spent big and failed. It’s critical to have a solid defence, anything is possible if you know how to defend as a first priority.

3.) 25 Nov 2017 18:33:31
Thoroughly agree 2 star. Here in Staffordshire all the local media are raving about Wolves and their prospects. I was in the USA when we played them so I missed the match but I understand with a bit of luck we could have nicked a point? Is that right?

4.) 25 Nov 2017 18:51:13
Yeah I reckon that’s more than reasonable to suggest that, we weren’t bad at all that day. Second goal was a very cheap from our point of view but the punishment was very clinical and beyond the capabilities of many champ teams as I recall. It was frustrating though because we’d got back in the game when it looked unlikely we could, shame we didn’t hang on because it would have been a great point .

5.) 26 Nov 2017 08:36:14
With what wolves have spent if anybody knows about football they would be one of the favourite to win championship I put 20 quid on them at 14/1 easy money lol

6.) 26 Nov 2017 10:40:34
If you’re a betting man and it’s so easy and obvious why not chuck £100 at then?

7.) 26 Nov 2017 11:09:53
When we played Wolves the goal keeper had excellent delivery to wing backs who were up to the half way line running at full pelt when they received the ball. Defence immediately into attack. Can Forest do that please

08 Nov 2017 11:01:11
There are a few Championship and League One clubs sniffing round Grant now. We shouldn't sell him in January but leave him at Notts all season and then re-assess. He seems to be developing really well and may yet have a big future at Forest.

Dr N

1.) 08 Nov 2017 13:51:41
I hope he gets a go with us. Would hate to see him go to a rival and do well. Good attitude and maturing nicely at county. Its a link we need to use more for our youngsters to get league football.

2.) 08 Nov 2017 13:54:40
Could Grant fill the gap when Dowell goes back to Everton do you think?

3.) 08 Nov 2017 14:57:07
Dowell plays in Zac Cloughs natural position. If he goes back to Everton in Jan then Clough should be his replacement,

Haven't seen the best of him yet he is a natural number 10, old type inside forward, we paid a lot of money for him and he was pure class at Bolton.

4.) 08 Nov 2017 20:20:46
Personally I'd rather play Clough and improve him over Dowell (we can never buy Dowell)

5.) 09 Nov 2017 08:12:34
I think Grant has really developed since being over the road. When he got promoted with us, he clearly wasn't ready, and it showed in his play. Now he looks confident and assured, and is scoring goals. He may well have a future with us if he continues like this.

I agree with all these posts. The guy next to me on Sunday said 'What a pity we can't move the goals to the touch lines. We'd be top of the league by now.' Continuously passing the ball from side to side in our own half gives oppositions ample time to stack loads of men behind the ball and then wait to hit us on the break or with headers which we still defend poorly at times.
