Not posted for a while but I wish people would calm down after the result the other night. The performance was poor, and the line up a little odd from VP despite so many key players missing.
For me, VP has exceeded all expectations and if we stay up (which we will) he has done much better than I feared.

What the result highlights is that the squad was nowhere near good enough for Europe really. We did well to get to the Semis, but the other teams were quite weak, and against the best team in it (Villa) we were played off the park when we had to play lesser players.
But the overall message is we need stability and planning. Anderson will leave (good luck to him) and I suspect Murillo, but how we redeploy those funds and actually sign with some logic, is all that really matters (and keeping Morgan).

That, together with proper support for VP, is what he deserves, what we need and - also - what we deserve in many respects.
The problem is this has zero chance of happening without owner, I assume. VP may or may not stay and any player arriving will have seen the turmoil of last 12 months (longer?) and have concerns.

That team. squad as it is an 8th-10th place team and it has chronically underperformed (albeit without Wood it is harder to tell). With some stability etc we can stay at that level and get rid of the annual relegation drama. I hope that happens but I very much doubt it will.

Newcastle ain't exactly having a good season, so if we turn up, we should get a result.

Find it quite intetesting how all rhe wind up merchants have fell out with wach other tonight.

09 May 2026 06:04:12
I've not fallen out, dtp. Even posters that get on can disagree on the team, and how we see things. That happens in everyday life.

09 May 2026 08:21:39
??? Skeggs.

09 May 2026 08:37:27
Rogie, stop taking the pee. ??

09 May 2026 08:42:24
Sorry mate!

09 May 2026 08:56:51
....And ??? for calling me "Rogie" again!!!
?

09 May 2026 09:18:31
Ok Roger. ?

09 May 2026 10:29:50
Skeggs,
You're just too funny!!

Hull v Millwall terrible game.
Are these two sides seriously?
Potential Premier sides?

I'm not sure what's more depressing, the performance last night (and yes, disappointing but understandable given the key players missing) or seeing two so called reds actively gloating at last night's result. About time you pair looked in mirror and questioned if you like the troll that looks back at you.
Call yourself reds? ?

08 May 2026 17:38:05
What's up rrh you feeling left out pal.get yourself off pal you have homework to do.and yes we had players missing last night but not just the injuries every single player on that pitch

08 May 2026 18:25:47
Who's gloating, just calling it how it was. So you thought we played out of our skins then & were unlucky to lose. ??‍♂️ 4-0 & no shots on target, fine margins, eh.

08 May 2026 19:03:11
We should feel sorry for their ignorance, RHR. It's a shame for them, really.

08 May 2026 19:30:41
They spend too long on a recliner and talk out of it winter.

08 May 2026 19:32:23
No ignorance from me, strawberry blonde. It's the others, probably including yourself, that think anyone actually put a fight in to win or even get a draw from that game last night. Like I said, not one player turned up last night.

08 May 2026 19:10:23
Any respect i had for either of your footballing opinions has completely evaporated in the last few hours. Neither of you have a clue about football and how a dressing room works. Tell me how many of last nights lads would have started if we had and entire squad available? Half? Jair Cunha for instance, how many times do you think he's played full back in his short career? Does he even look like a fullback? No!.

If you hate the club so much, how about you both stop slagging it off and go to another banter page more suited to your expectations.
'Larry the Lamb' can i direct you to the Dirby site and 'The Butlins Bin Dipper' to the fester site. If not do us all a favour and mute yourselves until you have something constructive to say.. Should be a while thank f***. ?

08 May 2026 19:55:19
Thats took you a very long time to work them out, Winter.

08 May 2026 20:34:09
??? do you think I care about what you think winter.aka pothead.and like I said I will say it as I see it.and Roger you clap at anything I've noticed a crap performance and rrh the weed head about says it all ??

08 May 2026 21:17:53
Well said mate!!!.
??????

08 May 2026 20:51:06
Not sure where you get your information from Skegs but you are wrong, i haven't even smoked a cigarette in coming up to six years.
Attempted low blow failed there duck. Kinda says a lot about your personality though. let's just leave it there before you make yourself look like a bigger idiot(if possible) ?

08 May 2026 21:31:07
Live chat fallout in the imaginary pub by any chance?
Think you need to give your heads a wobble and realise school ended decades ago.

08 May 2026 21:48:26
Don't you start, DTP. Just because I haven't dug you out in a while doesn't mean you can get away scot free. The intended point of this thread was that we all supposedly support the same side, and I, like many, felt crushed by last night's game. And the last thing anyone needs is people digging out their opinions with s***y comments. ?

08 May 2026 21:46:00
Yes think it's best and again I will say it has I see it in a game as everyone else does that's my opinion and I stick by it we was rubbish let's hope they turn up next 3 games hey

08 May 2026 21:56:04
And yes, you can all thank me for diverting their attention from the rest of you for most of today. Anyways, I take my leave for a while, and let you all have at each other. The toxicity levels are rising again, and I really can't be bothered. ??

08 May 2026 21:57:22
Says it all about you winter

08 May 2026 22:35:13
Rrh, that's what this site's always been about: opinions. What's the point in having it else. Sorry that the truth hurts, but I have no excuses for the way we didn't turn up last night. And these players are on more money weekly than we can earn in a year, it's their job, and none of them turned up to do a little bit of work last night.

Oh, they had too many games, boohoo, running round for an hour and a half kicking a ball. A chance to get into a European final should be any footballer's dream, and, personally, I didn't see one bit of effort. I probably, like some on here, will never see us reach this far in a European competition again, so sorry for being a bit miserable about it.

08 May 2026 23:51:05
Let's be realistic.

We had a 6'5 centre-back playing right-back.

8 players, by my count, unavailable. The writing was on the wall before a ball was kicked.

I, for one, have some great memories of this European journey.

Bigger picture looks like we are staying up.

I'll take that. Go again next year. Maybe we can go again there.

09 May 2026 06:00:04
So, what you're saying then is the squad of players isn't good enough, which I've been saying. But a lot on here were raving about our squad after the Chelsea game. Just saying.

09 May 2026 09:28:15
Nets and Awoniyi couldn't play, as well as the injured Skeggs, due to Dyche leaving them out the squad, leaving few options and players out of position, and it took a lot of pace out the side.

If you watched all three Villa games against 6s, they were all similar, with them having possession and chances, and us having very few.
Give credit to the fact Villa are a very good side.

09 May 2026 10:38:48
We had Woods on for Awoniyi. He will be first choice in any game. So that makes no sense. Fans are saying now, after the Villa game, we were expected to lose because of the squad.

Yet, after the Chelsea game, we had the best squad in the world and a manager that was a miracle tactician. On both accounts, we were very poor, and again, my main problem was nobody even tried.

08 May 2026 14:20:55
Wow, some of the fickle posts on here are astonishing.
Forest have done well to get where they did despite a heavy loss last night.
Villa are a very good team and with a weakened Forest team we were playing against all odds.

No doubt VP will dress down the team and praise them, he'll encourage them to play the remainder of games to the best of their abilities.
Look, yes, we didn't get to the final but it's still a great achievement.
COYR!

08 May 2026 14:43:43
We might as well not have been in the competition. To not turn up in the biggest game for years is unforgivable.

08 May 2026 14:53:23
I agree, Skegs, no respect for the traveling fans & the followers at home.

08 May 2026 15:07:09
Load of crap. No player decides not to turn up for a semi final. See, we l8st a game, balloons, and you're back with your nonsense.
We had no recognised right back, for starters.
Too many injuries, that was bound to catch up with us eventually.
Yes, Ripley, they soon forget Sunderland, Burnley and Chelsea.

08 May 2026 15:28:08
Don't know what you watched last night, but no player turned up. And anyone who says different is deluded. Made the Aston Villa team that played Spurs look like world-class players. Shocking and unforgivable. Cost me 12 quid for my crate of beer and 10 quid for my chicken gyros. That was 22 quid wasted and 2 hours of my life watching that s****.

08 May 2026 15:31:33
We won't forget Villa though.

08 May 2026 15:37:17
The best one was "They're deliberately missing!!."
??????

08 May 2026 15:49:15
It would take a shot on target to miss on purpose, and we couldn't even do that.

08 May 2026 17:05:48
Villa deliberately lost to Spurs as it damaged our preparation for the game. Had Villa beat Spurs (given their next game is Leeds), we’d have headed into that game safe with a different outlook.

MGW probably doesn’t enter the fray on Monday if Villa had beaten Spurs.

Gamesmanship, brilliantly executed by Emery, changed everything and gave Villa a psychological advantage last night.

08 May 2026 12:58:39
The morning after the night before….
Disappointing but not unexpected. A win or draw would have been massively against the odds. Top 5 against Bottom 5, extra days rest for Villa, plus the luxury of resting key players by throwing the Spurs game, knowing they will re coup the points against Burnley and comfortably ensconced in the Champions League position.
They had 2 players out, Kamara (an old injury) and Onana, but the resources to cope. We were missing Murillo, CHO, MGW, Sanghere, Aina, Abbott….
I did predict pre-match that this might be a bridge too far and I was right. I also said we needed to score first to have any chance and we didn’t.
But let’s remember fondly and without rancour and recriminations, our first European adventure for 40 years, the exciting games against Fenerbache, Porto and in Real Betis.

I’ve always said that the Europa is a glittering sideshow compared with the Premiership. VP has worked wonders with this squad but was undone by injuries.
Yet I see on here the “usual suspects” berating the team and calling for the replacing of VP. Unbelievable and moronic! Seeing how Villa crushed us last night is surely an example of what a good manager can do given 3 or 4 years rather than 3 or 4 months which is the norm under our owner. That and better recruitment. The other 3 things we need are stability, stability and stability.
So calm down ladies! Great adventure in Europe and I expect our Premiership survival to be confirmed this weekend.
Let’s remember the VP’s ten games undefeated rather than last night. As the saying goes VP has worked wonders but miracles take a bit longer.
Coyr!

Could not agree more.
Hopefully Marinakis has learned a valuable lesson this season, and going forward his gung-ho attitude will be a thing of the past.
Regarding VP, I do hope he gets to continue his role at the WFCG, given more quality players, Forest could light up the Premier League.

08 May 2026 14:45:08
I hope Mr M sees what he bought last night. In Europe, absolutely nothing.

08 May 2026 14:57:21
Needed to score first, Stokie? Need to have a shot first, that would have been nice.

08 May 2026 18:03:01
Another good post, Stokey, which I agree with wholeheartedly. When I saw our Europa League early doors and AV in it, I thought it would be difficult. Many posters on this site have said, along the way, it was a major distraction to our Premiership preservation!
Yet we reached the semi-final and it looks like survival in the Premiership.

This was despite multiple managers. So, well done, Forest. We should be proud of these players. It's true, next season must be a period of stabilisation. Careful recruitment on and off the pitch. Personally, I don't think MGW will go, but Anderson probably. The kernel of the team, I hope, can stay together and be added to.

08 May 2026 18:35:57
Anderson, Murillo, MGW will go. And I hope all the dross Edu bought in as well goes.

08 May 2026 20:35:36
Only vardy stuck around for your team skeggs

08 May 2026 20:52:02
Dtp the master of all predictions. ???

08 May 2026 21:01:08
Got the main one right.
Born a dipper, always a dipper.

08 May 2026 11:46:54
Well, after swallowing the bitter pill that was last night's result I’m feeling philosophical this morning.
Last night's performance was poor; there is no getting away from that.
However, we all know we shouldn’t have been playing in the Europa League this season anyway. How we got this far is a miracle given how dire we were at the beginning of the season.
I’ll take heart from Villa of all teams. They have been in our position a few years ago. A big club but suffering from mismanagement and poor player recruitment.

They have lost previous semi-finals and have come back stronger.
I’m resigned to losing Anderson but think we can keep Gibbs-White. A few more savvy buys and we can be stronger next season.
We’ve come a long way in a short space of time. A cold winter’s evening at QPR doesn’t seem like too long ago.
Also, how good was it beating Chelsea and effectively ending their Champions League ambitions like they did to us last season.

Great posts, lads.

08 May 2026 11:06:08
Rugs out of the way so more rest after the Geordies. Netz back for Aina, Cuna fitter, Taiwo upfront, MGW in a week’s time. I’m optimistic we can stay up and if we do that’s an achievement and we can make needed additions. I don’t feel as down as I thought I would.
Get behind the lads big time in our home matches especially.

Make your mind up? ?

08 May 2026 09:01:45
Bad night at the office but it’s over now! A bridge to far without MGW Aina Sangare and Murrilo we tried but didn’t really turn up. 3 pts or even a point on Sunday and we can look forward to next season hopefully with VP as manager I think he’s earned that. COYR
