{Ed's Note - Madman has posted a new article entitled, Wolves January Window and Championship Planning Concerns

Think given the right service we have a fantastic striker in jesus
Best signing of summer window imo.

30 Jan 2026 22:37:32
I agree dtp for once. if he starts hitting 30 goals a season he might make up for edus other signings when he's sold. ? but yes I definitely like Jesus and his attitude.

31 Jan 2026 00:12:23
Jesus, Caibano and Jair Cuhna were a "dodgy" deal between Marinakis and John Textor. Their signings were not organised by Edu. So was keeping MGW.

keeping Boly was part of the Marinakis deal with Nuno. Nuno's joke of a contract that cost us a fortune was also negotiated by Marinakis.

Edu was the driving force behind signing Luiz and Hutchinson according to agent talk and papers. Kalimuendo cost us nothing really if Frankfurt are taking over his fee and contract.

Th esort of thing I'd criticise Edu for is appointing a manager who plays a system that doesn't suit KAalimuendo, McAttee and Luiz. Why spend millions on them then get a manager who boots it over their heads (literally)

31 Jan 2026 00:23:02
After watching the club world cup i was really impressed with him, your point about the right service is spot on, he's definitely no target man but is willing to work his ass off for the cause. Quick balls in and around the opposing centre backs is key because he has really good movement.

I think the likes of MGW and CHO have started to realise this. His goals on Thursday were fantastic as was his goal against Brentford, his confidence must be sky high atm so hopefully his form will continue into the Premier league. ?.

31 Jan 2026 01:25:02
And cyclist, have you ever played the game? (i only played semi for a bit but some of the lads i played with were decent and went on to play at decent clubs, one of my mates played for the bin dippers at Filbert Street). No offence intended by the way but occasionally players who have ability kinda ignore the head coaches directions and take a game by the scuff of the neck, i.e Yates, McAtee and Sangare on Thursday, all were superb, their intent going forward was a joy to watch and that came from their natural ability.
Don't get me wrong because i can't imagine the creativity comes from Dyche but if you look at Stone and Woan i can't see either of them being negative on the training ground. Woan was one a magician and Stoney a wide work horse.

I would bet my house on those guys have a massive influence on the forward thinking lads in the dressing room, especially the likes of Yates, Ando, MGW and CHO, all English and know about the history of the club and would have been watching things like euro 96 where Stone did pretty damn well. I know Dyche and Edu have made mistakes but. And i say but, so has Mr M, i said to you on live chat i honestly wish Nuno had gone in the summer and Ange had had a full preseason with the squad, beaten the bus parking outta them and moulded them into an attacking unit. That didn't happen and when he came in it was far to late. We're stuck with Dyche for now, accept it and suck it up buttercup ??.

31 Jan 2026 10:35:28
I agree when a game's in progress some players can do something to create a spark and it galvanises the whole team, Yates and McAtee on Thursday, and in the past Stuart Pearce doing 2/ 3 bone crushing tackles got the supporters excited and the team up there game 100%.

31 Jan 2026 11:15:25
I largely agree with your post, but I disagree with your statement about Ange red.
If Dyche is able to keep us up, he will have fulfilled his role and we should express our gratitude and move forward without him.

30 Jan 2026 17:56:01
I ask the lot of ya, what is the point of a coach/ manager without belief. Who'd of thought sir brian would do it through hartlepool. Don't get me wrong still say to this day, nothing without peter taylor. You just got to believe reds. because without the basics. You start with nothing. He's there get the f ck on with it.

Nice to see Macatee get nice congrats from his team mates, we know there’s a player there let’s hope he can now kick on.
CARLO.

30 Jan 2026 18:37:19
Carlo i totally agree
I believe he can fo a job out wide and cutting in.

30 Jan 2026 20:00:26
Definitely do a job in tge championship ?? 1 good game against a bang average team and he's new messiah. ??.

30 Jan 2026 20:09:43
Well that was easy ????.

30 Jan 2026 20:14:23
Dtp ? please in your wildest dreams.

30 Jan 2026 20:41:57
Pack it in you two.

30 Jan 2026 20:48:46
We love edu.

30 Jan 2026 21:20:55
Man City had our pants down with McAtee time to move on. Cheers Edu.

30 Jan 2026 21:35:35
I'm sorry boss baldy. tired of being on the road, lonely as a fox in the rain, mostly I'm tired of being ugly to each other ??? dyche out edu out mcatee thank you for your cameo we might be able to sell you before Monday now.

30 Jan 2026 21:48:09
I am very pleased to say that I have no idea what you are talking about.

30 Jan 2026 22:05:14
That makes two if you include skeggs gazzi.

30 Jan 2026 22:29:32
Percy the Mr jingle killer knows ??.

30 Jan 2026 14:57:56
Excellent performance again last night. We need a minimum of 7 points from the next 3 games to hopefully give us a decent gap from the dreaded drop zone. Other than the Braga debacle we've been in good form in the past few games.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jan 2026 18:39:46
No Mateta on Sunday for us or them apparently that's a plus we need to make it count then stand strong at Leeds and trounce The Wolves ??.

30 Jan 2026 19:03:11
Win the two hone games us all that matters that's enough to be 10 points clear of west ham after those 3 games.

30 Jan 2026 14:56:16
Really enjoyed the performance last night great team effort

I thought every player put in a shift especially Ryan Yates and James McAtee

My ratings of the starting 11 last night

Sels 7
Abbott 7
Milenkovic 8
Morato 7.5
Williams 7.5
Dominguez 7.5
Yates8.5
Sangare 8
Ndoye 8
McAtee8
Jesus 8.5

Only thing I could fault SD for last night was bringing on Aina MGW and Aina at 3-0 and risking injury STRANGE.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jan 2026 17:20:22
Hudson Odoi.

30 Jan 2026 19:00:20
Agreed Munmad, they were strange substitutions but perhaps they needed minutes for their individual programs. Who knows.
I really don't think the manager would risk with no real reason.

30 Jan 2026 20:02:38
Two ways of looking at the subs

Do I give them 20 minutes and a day off?
Or give the others a day off and have them in for training?
Just as much chance of getting injured training.

30 Jan 2026 13:17:11
Again, I ask gentlemen, were you not entertained? Ok, it was a meaningless game against probably mid Championship opposition ( like Swansea and Wrexham perhaps) but what a superb and exciting game. The Hungarians played their part ( and hit the woodwork twice). It could easily have been a 6 3 or a 5. 2.
Enjoyed the press and workrate, particularly Yates McAteer and Ndoye. Young Abbott looked composed playing out of his best position CB. Perhaps SD’s harsh words after Braga ( and his fitness regime) plus man management skills) paid dividends?
I was a bit puzzled by the subs at 3 nil up? I guess we have probably got away with it injury wise but we will see.

). There was no travelling involved last night nor will there be on Sunday which may have been a factor. Personally I’d have given one or two of the young lads 10 minutes or so but in SD we trust.
A real opportunity in the next 3 games to increase our margin of safety at the bottom.

30 Jan 2026 17:04:50
Stokey SD had to gamble last night. Playing 4 at the start of the squad who will likely play against CP. He then stretched the legs for 20 mins replacing first teamers for first teamers, which I was happy with. Delighted that Mcatee played a full 90 mins and showed his potential.

I for one don’t want Anderson or MGW to move on. There is talent in our squad which SD is nuturimg. Also as team is atm, the correct balance of youth with experience.

30 Jan 2026 18:34:22
Good post stokey, I couldn't understand why dyche put on the subs, although subbing sangare made sense. I think that tackle hurt him more than we thought. The team played better before MGW came on and he didn't contribute much when he came on. yates played a blinder but the opposition were poor, I was surprised how crap they were.

30 Jan 2026 18:39:03
It was very entertaining stokie and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

30 Jan 2026 21:29:46
Stokey I enjoyed it but the opposition was league 1 standard no mid champ, it’s too much of a coincidence that McAtee who hasn’t picked his feet up, and Ryan suddenly looked like world beaters.

30 Jan 2026 21:57:35
The old adage stevie?
You can only beat what's put in front of you?

30 Jan 2026 22:08:06
DTP I agree but you have to give context to the performance.

30 Jan 2026 22:23:54
I agree but worked out ok?

31 Jan 2026 13:42:09
We can’t really tell from one game how good or bad the Hungarians are. It could just be they had an off day or Forest overwhelmed them? To be fair.

30 Jan 2026 12:44:39
As I said last night, a great performance and a great shift put in by the whole team! Trust in SD and the coaching team, they are not perfect, but they got the job done in style! Now we get what we sing about, WE ARE GOING TO ISTANBUL YIPPEE.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jan 2026 12:09:20
What happened last night was an example of the togetherness of the players. It happened when Tiawo scored and again last night MGW could have taken the penalty but he gave it to Mcatee to score his first goal for the club. In addition, SD did not sub him. Our manager is very astute in his substitutions and knows his players well.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jan 2026 11:11:39
Great result last night although it leaves me with more questions than answers regarding our coaching team.
Firstly why start so many of our key players against a side that is let's be honest lower league one or league two standard. When you look at the transfer value their entire starting eleven it was equal to what we signed the Serbinater for.
Secondly having a huge game coming up at the weekend why when three goals up bring on MGW and Murillo, probably our two most key players?. Its just lucky that Ando was suspended because i think Dyche would have him running himself into the ground.
If our youngsters are good enough for the bench then they are good enough to start verses sub standard opposition and add to that the fringe players like McAtee and Ndoye and Bakwa.

Imagine last night if one of Sels, Serbinater, Murillo, Aina, Williams, Yates, Sangare, Domínguez, CHO, MGW or Jesus had picked up an injury for Sunday, you'd all be up in arms and questioning the selection.
Just the fact we hit em for four and it could have been seven or eight proves we could easily have put the kids out. Imo it was poor from the coaching team and lacked the intelligence needed to be a premier league management. Clearly there was no due diligence done on the opposition. ?.

Agree4 Disagree0

30 Jan 2026 12:01:25
Your right rrh kids could of won that game. the game was pointless for us though now why didn't they turn up last week wheèn the game mattered and a win in that shite game and the win last night would of meant us going through automatically now we have extra games to play.

and risk top players getting injured trying to go through just daft hopefully with that one off not bad display by mcatee. Will hopefully help sell him never a first team player edu out dyche out.

30 Jan 2026 12:33:30
I actually thought the same, when they were instructed to come on.

30 Jan 2026 18:07:18
We won the game, no one got injured, big confidence boost for Mcatee, Jesus on a roll, good news all round.

30 Jan 2026 18:40:07
Bang on gingerkid.

30 Jan 2026 19:25:32
Not according to Chief Bin Dipper Skegsjay.

30 Jan 2026 19:53:06
Why single out Skegs? I started the conversation. While i do back our coaching team they clearly make mistakes and i don't think last night was worth the risk and look at the brilliant draw we got in the knockouts, i mean probably the hardest team out there in the turks. ?.

30 Jan 2026 19:58:49
?? munmad I won't sleep tonight now. I just say it as it is. and if u don't like it tough I don't really care. just like I don't care about your team selections you get wrong week in week out nearly as boring as reading stokies stories ?.

30 Jan 2026 20:51:56
We love edu.

30 Jan 2026 22:02:37
Can you name our kids that could of won it skeggs?
They did hit the woodwork twice remember?

31 Jan 2026 00:24:38
Again give it a rest DTP, skegs is forest through and through and doesn't need you and your pals judgement on every comment. ?.

31 Jan 2026 09:34:39
What a rest?
I asked a straight forward question to skeggs as I can't name any youngsters that are good enough to play at that level tbh.

30 Jan 2026 10:09:07
Good performance last night was nice to see us play attacking football. Thought dyche got it right last with the selection. Great confidence boost for the lads hopefully we can take that in to the weekend!

I hope we can continue playing football like that in the league going forward we’re more than capable so hopefully dyche let's them play more free flowing football.

30 Jan 2026 05:23:15
Last night's game was very impressive. I particularly enjoyed the performance of Macatee and Ndoye. Despite their efforts, it seems that some fans are still unhappy with the team's overall performance!
Jesus played a blinder and was literally walking on water.

A great enjoyable game to watch.
Whatever you spoke to the team, your message resonated. Please continue this approach each week – I'm sure many of us, including myself, will be enjoying Humble Pie if this continues each game. ??.

30 Jan 2026 09:27:53
Great display from the team but shows we need a decent fullback bringing in and cover for goalie before a striker, not sure how that effects our finances with the league we may have to sell Ndye or Mcatee etc don't know where we are on that. Think Wood will go when fit and Awonyi out on loan so new striker in the summer.

30 Jan 2026 01:52:19
Know this is a late post. But staying up with yank as the airport 3am. Anyway, just watched robson green (cannot stand plastic geordie) with a smoggy (who again I normally cannot stand) but this one was Chris kamara. I mean what a legend in football. Good hard tackler and an amazing pundit who just brought smiles along with Jeff stelling.

He was on robson greens weekend escapes. One of those laddies ya just wanna give a big hug to. Bless ya sir and thank you for breaking through the doom and gloom of the premiership. Ok not all bad, but you know what I'm getting at. ( working class hero) for me son. ❤️.

30 Jan 2026 18:13:57
I love Kammy Bowie, he is a legend and never fails to make me smile, some of his commentary:)

We bumped into him a couple of seasons ago down at St. Ives round the corner from the Golden Lion (think it's shut now). We had a quick chat, told him me mum loved his singing and if he was making another Christmas album, he just laughed, nice bloke.

Real shame about his speech apraxia.
