After watching that match at the City Ground I’ve got only 3 words to describe it: “abject dismal surrender”.

Forest were wide open in the full back positions! Leeds played the ball into that space and created chances. Dan James unmarked when he received the ball to score!
Shocking again!

Post match quotes via Glasner.
Nottingham Forest ‘ignoring reality’ in opening losses – Oliver Glasner.

“This is a little bit the assessment after six weeks here, that maybe – and not just in the team, it’s maybe in the club – that there’s a little bit of ignoring the reality,” Glasner said.

“Right now, we are far away from where we want to be, and what I’m really convinced in that where we will be.

“The fact is that this team had a relegation battle for nine months. Very turbulent season and it ended with a huge effort to stay in the league, and this is our starting point.

“It’s really very important not to blame anybody because sometimes I tell them facts and they say, ‘Oh, Glasner is complaining’.

“No, no, no. But then maybe your best midfielder (Elliot Anderson) leaves the club and now we expect we compete for European places because Oliver Glasner is in. Sorry, this is what I can’t deliver within six weeks.

“I’m no magician, no messiah, just hard work. That is what we have to do.

“It doesn’t make sense talking about seventh two years ago. It’s hard, it’s tough, but if you ignore the reality then you live in dreamland and this is never the best thing to do.”
Fair points I'd say.

I'd say so too, Ripley. 👍

Following another defeat, it appears that the current squad may not be optimally suited for the tactics being implemented by Glasner. Specifically, Wood seems to be past his prime, and the players collectively appear disoriented on the pitch.
In hindsight did Marinakis do the right thing with VP?
It is evident that VP and Nuno successfully motivated the team to function cohesively.

Each player demonstrated a clear understanding of their individual role and the roles of their teammates.
Will OG get it right? I sincerely hope so, because we can't keep rolling the dice and getting rid of coaches/ management.
It's not over as yet but it doesn't look great at this early stage.
Patience is needed, along with a few replacements.
Please maintain your belief.

Good and informative post as usual Ed 1.
I have been saying the same as you about Glasner being a poor fit for the players ( particularly wingers) he has available

The Glasner honeymoon period is already over! C*** and clueless, What’s this 3 centre backs and wing backs rubbish! It’s not the way we play and is isolating our better players. It’s early days but I’m gonna call this now, this Austrian g**** won’t last the season! I said as soon as we were linked with him that I didn’t like his smarmy smile nor his hair style and my opinion won’t change anytime soon.

Glasner out!

The Glasner bounce is in full cry. 🤣 Even Burhnam got some bounce. Absolutely headless chicken stuff, we were flying under Vitor & scoring for fun. Enter Maricrackers. 1) Let's ditch a winning formula & a happy squad. 2) I'll get Glasner round for a few pints, if Mythos & a dodgy gyros make him the highest-paid manager in the league.

3) I got ripped off for 35 mill with Hutchinson, I need more of that great Ipswich team that got relegated. Mmm, I know Delap has flopped at Chelsea, they paid 30 mill, but I think I can prize him away for 45 mill plus add ons. Coco the clown stuff. Enjoy your season, chaps.

If Glasner is a top coach, then, due to his knowledge and expertise, I expect him to turn this around and get something at Liverpool.

Just watched him saying, "We had no stability in the team."
Oh yes we bloody well had!!!!!.
😡😡😡

Exactly Rogie, Vitor was building something good.

I just don't get why we had to change coaches???!!!
We were flying under Vitor!!!!
The football was free flowing.
They've looked lost these first 2 games.
Nothing against Glasner whatsoever, however we just didn't need him, Mr M.

So we lose sight of yrt another piece of silverware. If we go out of the FA Cup early that only leaves (yet again) Prem League survival.
I don't like the odds. We looked like a bunch of strangers playing in a pub team tonight.

We lost Nuno and Pereira who did us proud and now we are too late to rebuild.
As others have said this will be a very difficult season (again).

Williams and Ainia are both very good fullbacks but they are not wing backs. This 5 at the back is a non starter with them. An average first team from Leeds beat us at home and a less than average second team from Leeds beat us again at home. Hutchison and CHO are redundant in this system.

It seems Leeds have shown us it doesn’t work with these players. I don’t doubt OG is a class manager but before he was appointed did he think he could just change how we play? Do I remember a certain Australian with a different approach and being hounded out of the club 6 matches later.

Very fair points. Is Glasner like Amorin, in that he will never change his system? Probably, but he is a proven coach.

What I don't understand is our lack of transfer activity. I realise you need two to tango - a buyer and a seller - but we don't appear to have the personnel to play Glasner's system...

that is a worry.

It's too early, of course, to throw the toys out, but good players like Aina and Williams look out of sorts right now after a long pre-season and 2 games, and that's not ideal.

Delap costing £10m more than England's next Number 1 in goal for Leeds looks pretty awful economics to me too.

They've played in a back 5 before, as have all of the CDs. It just isn't that simple.

It is that simple, Cyclist. Every armchair supporter in the country would agree. Simple fixes, and telling an experienced manager how to do his job. Sarcasm always wins. 😉🌳

Two games in and me and Skegs are Forest joint top scorers. 🍺
