There is considerable excitement in my neck of the woods here in Staffordshire over the prospect of Stoke City being awarded the FA Cup from 2011 in view of the Manchester City debacle.

Tony Pulis has given several interviews ( on the BBC and 2 or 3 newspapers) saying the Potters were cheated, pointing out that the scorer of the only goal at Wembley, Yaya Toure was on 10 times the wages of the highest paid Stoke player and several Man City players individually cost more than the value of their entire squad.

He has, however, publicly eschewed the idea of the FA Cup being handed over from that match, saying the Citizens would probably be dealt with by way of points deduction and heavy fines.


The highest honour Stoke have ever achieved was their 1972 League Cup final win over Chelsea. My wife and her family and friends queued all night and got tickets for that game.

When she and other Stokies boast about it to me, I always point out that we have 4 of them and 2 runners up. Always gets a laugh and sometimes a snarl.???
I went to see the brilliant German comedian Henning Wehn at Gawthorne Hall a few years ago. One of his routines was handing out loads of cheap replica World Cups to the audience with the words " Please have one, in Germany we've got loads of them ".??.

Suppose the man city QC ( 5 grand an hour) could argue that two years later they lost the FA cup to Wigan and if they cheated they wasn't very good at it!, and it wasn't until Pep showed up they won trophies, and titles from his coaching skill, it's an argument?.


Henning When is one of the few modern comedians who's funny, if you watched Live at the Apollo it's so depressing to see how unfunny they are, started watching channel 81 for Wheel Taappers with Colin Crompton and Bernard Manning, for jokes that are funny.

My apologies big time to the eds on here who do more than an amazing job.
I now get where Roy Keane got his prawn sarnie squad from. Seen so many games lately where the wfcg was overpowered by away fans. my opinion live this club apart from obviously my family and jimmy loadsa bellies. Thanks Ed. Very interesting. I wonder if, as you say, Bournemouth will become less effective with their high workload as the season ( and individual games) wear on, especially with the European games.

Definitely can't argue with what Wright and Keane said at half time, we were lucky not to be 3 or 4 behind, the response after going a goal behind was actually commendable. Going in ahead at half time showed we can actually play front foot football and press brilliantly. Kanes pen was unfortunate, slipping as he did, brings up questions about technical issues on the standing foot by heyho, im definitely not one to question his ability.


Imo with the national side, we need stability at the back, partnerships and continually playing the same back four breeds success. Weather it be James, Trent, or whoever, even Trips and Walker, we need a specialist RB, Saka looked isolated down the flank because he had zero backup. Anyways far to much Rum and a waddle back from the Rugby club is needed, thank duck for the Mrs and her leading steady head plus shoulder. Night gents??.

I re watched " The Long Good Friday " instead. Great film. Deserved BAFTA performance by Bob Hoskins and Helen Mirren was never more gorgeous ( and talented)
Just read "London Falling” by Patrick Raddon Keefe about the present day criminality and involvement of organized crime in London regeneration including the Docklands.

This by Russian Oligarchs rather than East End villains like the Krays.
I'll probably watch the England game on catchup later unless I'm washing my hair.???.

Reading the beeb comments section the general verdict from fans is much the same, if ourselves and Everton had points deducted for one charge, its only fair that City get similar or worse for their lack of compliance. Rangers and Juventus have been booted to the bottom and recovered, surely a similar fate is coming to the blue side of Manchester. ?.

I may be wrong but I'm not sure the Premier League can do that directly mate. The Prem and non League ruling bodies are seperate entities.
I believe it would have to be done via points deduction only ie 100 points virtually guaranteeing relegation to the Championship then on from there if they can't comply with Championship sustainability for further points to League 1 and so on.

Unless they can come to an agreement.
I'm happy to stand corrected by our esteemed and knowledgeable Ed 1 though.

Yeah i know that, but any ruling will be ratified by the English FA, who have ultimate control over the league system. Also can you see the National League or any organisation lower rejecting the chance to have City playing under their banner? I certainly can't, the revenue for the other clubs at whatever level surely can only be beneficial. ?.
