Karanka now needs to persist with more or less same side. And when everyone is fit. Bench will be even stronger.
Then he can slowly introduce odd player to a side that's winning without disrupting balance. Like for like when legs are tired.
If we can win 2/ 3 more games on bounce we will be right up there.

There are are a lot of players down the pecking order, strong bench yes a lot wanting to sit on it. Many might be wondering when they will get their chance, nearly 40 still on the books, we could have two teams with subs and some left over.

20 Sep 2018 14:23:36
You won't get much rotation with the back four & the screen in Colback & Guedioura.

As for the front 6, i'd expect some rotation there. there's quite a lot of effort expended there. Think Karanka will want to keep that fresh.

20 Sep 2018 14:43:27
RIP Sir Brian.

20 Sep 2018 14:54:03
The onus is very much on the starting eleven to keep performing. No room for complacency with such a strong squad itching for a chance to shine. I think we have turned a corner.

20 Sep 2018 15:39:25
Let's hope so sgetty I thought that after the West Brom and Newcastle game so we will see but plenty to go on after last night

20 Sep 2018 16:14:28
Other players will get a chance in the Carabao and FA cups I'm sure. AK won't want to risk injuries and affect League Games.

20 Sep 2018 11:34:49
Fair play to the boys well needed 3 points. Nice too see sum consistency in team selection and it sounded like the boys put a gud shift in. If we put in the same performance and get a result on saturday then that'll be 7 gud points. I'll hold my hands up because I slated us after the Swansea game purely for the fact that although we put in a performance I've seen it all before where we do okay but can't hit the back of the onion bag . I'd praise the boys but then we'd lose next game and all that hard work is undone. So 3 points Saturday gud performance show sum consistency and it's at least a step in the right direction.

Good to see some humility fellas, Its progress when you reduce a side, used to coming here and pocketing three points, to absolutely nowt.

Plans coming together, probably gains further momentum with Grabban scoring, Carvalho running another show and Heffele, Fox and the screen of Pep and Colback looking almost inpenetrable.

Thats an AK performance in a nutshell, unpick the opposition, get the goal, bring em out and kill em off. Its going to be a slog of a season for anyone who didn't enjoy that for a nights entertainment.

Dont see us taking teams to the cleaners, but another masterclass Saturday and we're in this for the duration.

Hence the reason why those early concession of goals had to stop for the plan to work - heff has been the differentiator in stopping us conceding early goals - it really was holding us back.
Regarding Carvalho he didn’t run the game at all Cjay, what you want to happen or foresee could happen is different to what actually happened. As I said last night he grew into the game and gave glimpses of his talent I think it’s very possible he could dictate games - it’s inaccuraye to say he did that last night but he did do 100% better than he has since the WBA game. A thumbs up from me for carvalho for making the improvements necessary for a player with whom we’ve put a lot of faith in by spending a club. Record 13 million on.

20 Sep 2018 15:39:20
Nice to see the back four looking a lot more stronger with fox and the heffa outstanding good to see him being vocal and waving his arms about dragging players forward we have been missing this for seasons well done to all

20 Sep 2018 16:24:18
Heffa is hilarious

20 Sep 2018 16:24:51
We have some older and wiser heads beginning to have an effect:
Pantilimon, Hefele, Guediora and Fox (who completely outjumped his 6feet four opponent last night) and Watson/Dawson when needed. Add to that the creative abilities of Carvalho and Osborn, and the speed and thrust of Janko, Cash, Dias and Lolley with Colback making Vaughan-like crunching tackles, and you can see the blend AK is aiming for. Calm heads on the pitch and a terrier like approach to everything by everybody, pushing up to pin the opposition down, is just what we have needed for so long! But there will be slips and blips no doubt. Cjay is right it's a 2 year process but if they continue to be so good to watch with a mid-week crowd of 26,000 pushing them on, this year could be at last our turning point.

20 Sep 2018 08:57:48
Well done Forest, good 3 points and a solid performance. Some really committed tackles going in and reminded me of the Toon game effort.

Janko looks to have nailed down the LB slot as his now, some really good performances all over.

Hopefully they can keep this up now and get another 3 on Sat. Should have scored a few more but looks promising.

Sorry, meant RB.

20 Sep 2018 17:07:37
Now that was an ironic post.😁👍

20 Sep 2018 08:37:41
A win on Saturday and we wonder what all the fuss was about, all the criticism towards AK was just banter, leg pulling etc., wasn't it . We are starting to get a clearer picture of what the club is looking for, confidence in commitment with each other, knowing the movement in natural play as well as design. Now AK has got a clearer picture he now knows who are his main stay players, think next loan period a few will be gone, even if we thought they were her for the long run.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Sep 2018 10:19:04
51 sorry mate but some of the criticism was to be said doesn't matter how good a manager at any team in the world you will get criticised if a or any fan doesn't think your doing your job that's the same in any walk of life and yes a lot of banter he's got is team now so no more swapping and changing unless injuries great display of football last night especially second half and plenty of work rate we just need to get a run of some wins going and we will be on our way

20 Sep 2018 16:31:33
The thing is Skegs there is negative criticism and positive criticism and with professional footballers and managers all paying lip-service to their rich agents, it's not easy to get through to many of them, but by introducing lots of new experienced faces (the old guys as people kept calling them at one point) pitch and club discipline has improved quickly. Grabban for example needed positive re-inforcement from AK rather than destructive criticism and that's what he got. If players are giving their all then you cannot ask for more, but you can praise them for what they do well, and that has a positive not negative effect. If players are no good then they should not be on the pitch.

Just seen the goals on Sky, and wonder why Pants made no effort to try and save the Wednesday goal.

Agree1 Disagree1

20 Sep 2018 07:35:30
It’s because we were in danger of having noting at all to moan about

20 Sep 2018 08:44:19
Deflection off Heff was considerable after Pants had moved to save the shot.

20 Sep 2018 08:50:01
I thought Fletchers shot took a massive deflection, looked like it was going wide the other side, then think hit Hef and went in the other side, he had no chance.

20 Sep 2018 08:58:23
Well I'm going to moan about not being able to moan lol can't wait to see my mate tonight at the club a Wednesday fan that now owes me a pint and I'm going to really enjoy that pint and I won't have a big grin on my face when I take it off him 😁

20 Sep 2018 09:20:44
Because it took a deflection. . he was diving / movingly in the correct direction to start with and then cane off Hefele I think and went the opposite way. Nothing he could have done

20 Sep 2018 09:52:46
Because the deflection wrong footed him no keeper would of stopped that he had it covered till it hit the defender

20 Sep 2018 11:00:15
His arms are big, but they ain't that big.

20 Sep 2018 11:00:05
It took a big deflection, thus wrong-footing the keeper.

20 Sep 2018 11:01:06
Because I believe it took a massive deflection but I was side on in A block.

20 Sep 2018 11:05:51
Unbelievable! Clearly never played in goal?

20 Sep 2018 15:00:57
Didn't we used to call it a fluke.

20 Sep 2018 16:34:27
Look how Pants reacted to Bannan's free-kick in front of goal: got his wall right so Bannan only had one place to aim and then just paced across the goal line to pluck it out of the air- he's so big he only takes one pace to our two and so tall it's never going in over him.

20 Sep 2018 06:28:49
thought we were sloppy in the 1st half last night but then the 2nd half Carvalho started getting space and the full backs were up to help, thought there were 5 top performers Osborn for his assist an always plugging away but should of had 2 himself, colback don't think he missed a tackle all night, janko looked very assured at both attacking and defending, fox I can't believe the transformation in this guy he's like a new player and last one is hefele what a rock and loved how he was goading the Wednesday fans, overall pleasing night esp after 7 straight defeats to them, on to Saturday.

Hefele is a future reds legend if he stays long enough.

Committed, commanding and a great character and presence on the pitch, for the players and the fans. It's been a long time since we've had anyone like him at the back. Signing of the Summer for me.

20 Sep 2018 16:36:49
He is very good and noticeable that him and Fox have struck up a really good partnership, but for me Janko and Robinson are equally as important - they defend well, have pace and can put in brilliant crosses, plus Robinson has freed up Osborn to do the job he craved for and does well.

19 Sep 2018 22:24:50

I'll try red,but before you know it you'll be telling me the world's round and the sun does shine in Yorkshire??.😁😁😁

20 Sep 2018 11:02:55
And Forest will get a result at the Riverside if they continue with their high tempo press!
Then we will see how much progress we have made based on the performance against the Championships meanest team? 🤫

19 Sep 2018 22:08:58
Blind faith paid off, did Grabban anytime and 2-1 Forest, 18/ 1 kerching. 👏👏👏 Well played Forest, long way to go but same again Saturday please. COYR.

Well done Scouse and enjoy spending your£18 in Primark and all those brown bags, don't forget your change ,lol😀😀

19 Sep 2018 22:03:50
And most of you said carvalho is a waste of 13million.
Bet you’ll all be saying how good he is now.
I’ve said from the start he’s a good quality player and needs a games to acclimatise to the league. That goal will do him the world of good and will show even more quality now.

Agree6 Disagree4

19 Sep 2018 22:24:01
Level above.

19 Sep 2018 22:26:49
Up until his goal I thought he was a total passenger that looked lightweight with the game passing him by.
Took his goal really well though and hopefully we'll see more of what he can do now.
Still think Dias is a far bigger threat going forward though.

19 Sep 2018 22:53:39
He wasn’t in it in the first half but grew in to the game and showed his quality

19 Sep 2018 22:54:43
See I disagree there Fred as he moves about the pitch and can be hard to pick up.
From the first time I saw the portuguese lads I thought they were quality,Bournemouth they looked superb,I like their pace and movement, not sure the older players are on their wavelength at times and that might be your problem with him ??

19 Sep 2018 23:05:38
Agree Fred- Dias looks loads better with Janko behind him - 10 decent mins isn’t enough to sell him to me in one hit but I felt there was promise tonight. I was cursing carvalho but he really grew into the game late in the first half and I had a feeling he’d have a good second half. Still seems like we have another couple of gears that we don’t know we have !

19 Sep 2018 23:34:46
Colback was our best player did all the nasty horrible stuff 1st half especially;Red Fred correct in my opinion, TIL the goal carvallhio had been a passenger but his goal was a glimpse of the quality he possesses hope now we see more and more of it

20 Sep 2018 06:32:23
thought he went missing in the 1st half but 2nd half when he found space and was aloud to run at the defence we saw what he is capable of, he should be the type of player that grabs the game by the scruff of the neck and bosses it but personally i still wanna see more before i make a judgement on him

20 Sep 2018 10:32:21
Yeah, Carvalho was quiet early on but grew into the game and his link-up with Osborn for the goal was special.

This kid needs to play as often as possible, he makes things happen, we look a better attacking force with him in the side and he'll only get better as he develops and acclimatizes to Championship football.

20 Sep 2018 11:03:47
Some of you lot watching a different player to me.

He wants the posession a bit quicker than he's getting. He ain't a passenger, he's just waiting for the ball.

When he gets it, he's a step ahead. Class act.

20 Sep 2018 11:41:19
Cjay,When he’s not got the ball he’s a passenger whether it’s his fault or not, and let’s not get carried away 1good finish in 8 games doesn’t make him messi, so calm down and let’s see if he can start influencing games that’s what you pay 13mlll for at championship level,I know your always right and everyone else wrong but let’s wait and see how his season develops

20 Sep 2018 12:04:42
When he hasn't got the ball, he's either trying to shake markers or he's pressing the opposition to get it back.

He's a 13 million pound player, teams won't give him space to breathe. At worst he's occupying 2 opposition players creating space for others.

Passenger, nope.

20 Sep 2018 12:57:16
Cjay think it’s you that’s been watching a different player , teams have had far more trouble containing cash than carvallhio

21 Sep 2018 09:38:44
Stevie I don’t think that’s the case. Carvalho draws players to him mainly full backs and holding midfielders, this provides space for out wingers (cash!!) so they then influence the game with a goal a good ball into the box etc.
