As usual a few brief thoughts about yesterday's game.
I didn't understand the subs either comrades. It was a hot day and Yates put a shift in as usual but Nuno also rearranged his defence which looked fairly comfortable. I can only assume it was a response to Pochs subs about 15 minutes earlier. But it didn't work this time. I not sure if those hi tech vests they wear give physio or exertion data live or can only be downloaded after the match. Perhaps Yates was injured or knackered? I don't think so thoughAt the end of the day, it was a free hit with only the possibility of damage to our goal difference which didn't happen. I feared they could score 6 like against Everton or 5 like they did against West Ham. But we matched them until the crazy last ten to 15 minutes while our subs caused disruption and none of them could match £45 million Sterling or England international James. Mudryk at £90 million just shows how disadvantaged we are. I reckon we did very well against a team 4 or 5 times our value.
Disappointed with how it panned out but we lost the battle but will win the war!
Coyr!

A typically well-measured post from you Stokey - I couldn't agree with you more.

12 May 2024 19:41:43
Don't think we'd get much for Sangare if we were to try and sell him. He'll probably end up being shipped out on loan several times still being paid by us, earning good money from us until his contract is up. We've got a few like that, just think we thought we had it bad in the championship when we paid 13 million for Carvalhio, geez 😳.

Back to PSV 15 million best hope I reckon.

12 May 2024 20:19:54
At least Arter will be off the wage bill soon.

12 May 2024 20:28:55
Gateshead looking at him, bit money after winning the FA vase. Too close to Sunderland for me.

Judging by the season price hike the new tops will cost an arm and a leg.

Get them off Dh Gate, ECR. This season's were only a tenner each. Cheap as chips and good quality.

I got our class 3rd kit on there mate.
Very good top.

🤣🤣😅 d3rby i posted and put pics up 10 yrs ago. Ok ok sorry.

The Nuno question is a big one. The only reason we are limping over the line is due to the frailties of three other teams. Three other teams with less budget who haven’t spent hundreds of millions on players. Yes hundreds of millions.
Does Big M pull the trigger? And if he does, who would come, and more importantly would they do any better than 5 wins out of 24?
It was time for cooper to go. But when I heard it was Nuno I was gobsmacked. So that’s the question and I think it’s worth a poll? Can one of the Eds do a poll Nuno stay or Nuno sacked?

Keep Nuno. He came straight into a relegation fight. Albeit with half a season to go but its going to change your approach. He lost key players on international duty and has been without his main striker for most of his tenure. Then just in recent weeks we've binned 3 or 4 points on dreadful finishing and Origi not squaring it. Sorry, but I'm still not over that! Another 2 or 3 points on shameful refereeing and VAR and let's not forget the 4 point deduction.
So I'm for starting season from an equal points situation, with Nuno in charge, a few good signings and let's see how we go. Or take a chance on a manager who will have invariably been sacked from his last job?

12 May 2024 18:35:07
Thanks Ed.

{Ed033's Note - ok thanks.

12 May 2024 20:26:28
🤣🤣🤣🤣 34 votes not even 34 people come on the banter site 🤣🤣🤣.

12 May 2024 20:33:05
Brilliant post WhoKnows mate. He was handed a crock full of 💩💩💩💩by our hierarchy ( recruitment, no AFCON planning, FFP ) as was Cooper but looks overwhelmingly likely to keep us in the Prem despite Mr M not because of him.
Ok I know Mr M is ambitious and put the money up but, as it says in the King James Bible (Greek Orthodox version ) “The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord” 😂😂🤔🙄.

12 May 2024 20:56:59
Skegs I think the votes nuno has are from your other accounts? 🤣.

12 May 2024 21:47:02
🤣🤣🤣 I imagine you put 30 different accounts on B4 you did the poll redfrog but I'm sure maranakis will take into account the 20 fans on this site wanted Nuno out even though he kept us up 🤔 🤣🤣🤣🤡.

13 May 2024 03:03:36
Just look at the pole to get an honest assessment of what the average fan thinks of Nuno. 🤡
Enough said.

13 May 2024 07:00:01
That just shows how many different accounts some on here have 🤣🤣 you better put another up next season because he will still be here 🤣🤣 Nuno Nuno nuno.

12 May 2024 17:38:45
Who's your keepers for next season boys.
Sels. Done well, unfairly criticised.
MGW. O. K. but not as good as people try to make out. Likes playing for nuno though so there's hope.
Aina, Class with more to come
Elanga. More to come, Great prospect
CHO Absolute class player of the season
Morillo, saved him till last. Love him to bits but a lot to learn. All over the place for Chelsea goals All the talk of a top 6 transfer is rubbish. No where near good enough. Still learning his trade. If he could head like Burns and Lloyd the yes.
Bin the rest off from top to bottom 🎈.

Domingues, Yates for the rough and tumble games but not all games. Toffolo as a sub but again same reasons as Yates. Awoniyi if he wasn't made of glass. Yeah struggle to think of many of the 40 odd players who are keepers to be honest. Talking of which anybody know how Aguilera got on in his loan spell.

12 May 2024 21:04:48
I'm up for it balloons 🎈 off the fags now. 🤣🤣 do the old vodka bottle and sponge, nobody's noticed.

12 May 2024 21:25:19
Pretty much agree with you Balloons and CiG. Keep:
Aina
MGW
Murrillo
Hudson-Odoi
Yates
Sels
Elanga
Nuno Tavares
Dominguez
Awoniyi
(Give Worrall and McKenna another chance)
Bin the rest - not good enough.

12 May 2024 21:55:36
You missed danillo, Williams, mckenna a free agent and tavares an arsenal player so they won't be here.

12 May 2024 22:19:23
Sorry, also keep Boly if he wants to stay (subject to medical evaluation! )

12 May 2024 16:10:42

12 May 2024 17:26:59
I don't think he was last man there was 2 Chelsea players out to the right of him I did think that to before I watched it again.

12 May 2024 17:32:12
Chelsea player was further away than Boly, when Worrall got sent off v Man U. Go figure.

Now this terrible season draws to close.
Do we keep Nuno 5 league wins out of 24.
Having had more problems to deal with since he came here.
Do we give him a pre season to see if he can built a side capable of finishing in a decent position for a change. That is the million dollar question. Only one person knows that.
Let's all go on our hols and then start looking forward to next season. let's all keep the faith COYR
Have a lovely summer you Reds.

12 May 2024 15:27:19
There is no doubt we will be next seasons favourites for relegation. I don’t honestly know how we are going to change for the better as a side. Everton are streets ahead of us as are Leicester. Wood I don’t think has been offered or should be a new contract as there was probably no man or woman in the ground over 29, 000 that thought they would have missed the goal from less than 2 yds. Tiawo in a whole season has been blighted by injury, he cannot be relied on. So a new striker is required. Logic - which there is a paucity of - tells you to send scouts to look at all the top
3 strikers in the other major Uk leagues. Our problem is which striker would ever come to a club likely to be relegated, maybe why so many players are imports. So only ‘Nono ‘ can turn this club around. When we are at the bottom of the league come Sept he will be gone, and I will say come back SC.

12 May 2024 16:05:43
Ipswich will be next year’s relegation favourites.

12 May 2024 16:46:19
Do you actually go on holiday Mr east coast? As you are already there like?

12 May 2024 17:06:08
Did you witness this afternoons play offs. Who ever wins that is down already. 🎈.

12 May 2024 17:14:16
We will kick on. we simply HAVE to!

12 May 2024 17:34:18
EastcoastRed, at least we can wear our PL tops on our jolly's. 😎.

12 May 2024 21:08:06
Exactly scouse, I'm off to poland tomorrow, auchsvitz, or however it's called.

12 May 2024 22:03:04
Hang on 🤔.

12 May 2024 12:04:15
Must haves for next season

1. GK preferably Sam Johnstone
2. CF I'd go for Cameron Archer
3. DM
4. LB

If we keep MGW and Murrilo that's all we need imo

As for Nuno I'd give him the pre season and see where we are at the end of September with 8 games gone.

Munmad, I was very cross last night and have had the chance to sober up and reflect.

No point sacking Nuno, football has been good to watch :

1. It’s not his fault we have 13 decent players
2. It’s not his fault we don’t take chances
3. It’s not has fault at least 10% of those players are either injured or at a football tournament.
4. It’s not his fault we have a pathetic transfer policy

Mr M, if you repeat the same stupid scattergun approach to signings as you have for the last 7 seasons forget any plans you have for us. Please sort this out and give a coach a chance to build. If you sack Nuno it’s Groundhog Day and another scattergun summer. You’re a very clever man but a goldfish would learn quicker.

12 May 2024 13:13:52
No that's true 2 stars you could say both Nuno and Cooper were dealt cack cards. But Nuno is a wet fish, very uninspiring. I speak to Wolves fans here in the West mids and as much as they liked Nuno they said he got lucky with the players he had and wouldn't have him back. Personally with Cooper I just think it got too much for him with the influx of players, all the other shenanigans going on at the club, you could tell in his body language. Now give Nuno the proper tools without interference and he may do OK but I just don't see it. I also don't think Marinkissmyarse will change his ways so whoever is the coach will inherit the same issues. So next season whether they would stay or not it looks likely we will sell good players because we overspent, so you now got to replace those players with equal or better. That's 2 seasons of uncertainty because our owners went nuts with the cash, even after being warned from within and outside the club.

12 May 2024 13:59:28
I enjoyed a lovely afternoon at the boat club yesterday, the main topic was how much does forest have to find to escape more points next season. Most fans thought it was around 35 mil. If that’s the case then surely we could get rid of some fringe players without selling MGW MURILLO, with the exception of woods the team yesterday put a shift in and yes the substitutions were the undoing for us. Wood should have gone at half time. Have we progressed this season, I don’t know. As my old school reports used to say SHOULD HAVE DONE BETTER.

12 May 2024 14:10:58
Sadly …. :I agree with your evaluation on whether things behind the scenes will change.

12 May 2024 14:17:51
Don't allow the African players to play a month long tournament in January/ February. That'll give us 5/ 6 players back. Or don't sign so many African players. I'm sure that is racist is some way but hey-ho.

12 May 2024 14:37:04
It's not racist at all D3rby. It's fact. Big mistake signing so many. It's not as though they are cheap either. Sangare how much?

12 May 2024 14:44:08
No it’s discriminatory by the epl mate as I’m sure some African players miss out on being signed, it’s also unfair to clubs like forest who have to sign African players to have a a chance of competing.

12 May 2024 14:47:28
Red, I agree, but let’s be honest it’s ridiculous that we collapse when we bring a player off who we know maybe isn’t the highest calibre yet we have a 35mullion quid signing who we won’t even bring on because he’s that s***. That one thing alone tells you all that is wrong with us. Should have been Yates coming on for sangare tell help us manage the game out, not Yates coming off because he’s ran himself into the ground because that t*** is too w***k to even be considered.

12 May 2024 15:09:18
For once Derby we agree.

12 May 2024 15:23:45
Day it as you mean it 2stars.
Probably our worse signing EVER.

12 May 2024 17:09:54
Spot on post 2stars as usual🎈.

12 May 2024 10:22:28
Lots of pre-match euphoria and atmosphere but we have to do it on the pitch. At the end of the day another HOME DEFEAT. Reece James and Raheem Stirling are world class internationals and have to be marked. Wood was shocking again - should have been substituted earlier. Some very good attacking football from us but they were walking through our midfield - I won't name the culprit again as he looked lost at times. A mistake to take Yates off (unless injured? ). Aina looked world class at times - we need 3 more players like him. Sorry but I don't know what to make of Niakate but ge doesn't look £17M worth. Getting mixed feelings about going to the ground and watching my team lose most of the time - this has to stop or we will be relegated next season. I have renewed already so can't be more positive than that!

Agree4 Disagree0

12 May 2024 10:48:18
RHR: Agreed re Niakhate. He’s doesn’t seem the same player since he returned from injury.

12 May 2024 11:32:13
Some changes required to stop more losses than wins but under Cooper we couldn't score and under Nuno a better ratio but he inherited a mixed bunch at the back we need to see what happens when it's certain we're still safe who we bring in and who goes to balance the book's then the coach will earn his money whoever he is.

12 May 2024 10:03:13
Ok, so my take away from the game yesterday, having watched it on the tellybox.

Substitutions were not needed. But, Nuno loves to tinker for no real reason. As ass as they came on the dynamic was massively changed. Montiel and Niakhate were doing fine and Nuno should have left well alone. Having said that Montiel was at fault for their first. I would say I was absolutely astounded by our defending in the last 10-15 mins, but we've done this so many time this season that sadly nothing astounds me anymore.

Toffs is not premier league.
Murillo is a beast and we need to go all out to hang onto him.
We played stupid tippy-tappy football with trick back heels and lost the ball. This needs to stop. At one point we literally looked like we were trying to showboat when we needed to keep it simple.

Wood is too slow. I watched him in a race with Tiago Silva, who at 39, skinned him and got to the ball first. And he's seemingly gone back to his worst again: missing sitters because he cannot shift his feet quick enough.

We need to keep Sels, he a pretty decent stopper. it's the defence in front of him that needs sorting; the way we backed off from Stirling was schoolboy stuff. it's not as if he's an unknown entity in the footballing world and everyone knows what he is capable of.
And how many times did we let Jackson waltz through into our box?

CHO is a classy player when his confidence is high. Let's hope he maintains it for next season.

I did feel sorry for Luton and Burnley. said nobody EVER. Gobby Kompany and mardy-arse Edwards. although I rate both as decent managers, more so Edwards. Get him in for Nuno?

Overall, we put in a decent performance other than the last 10-15 mins. Some snappy tackles, some great passes, marred by some woeful defensive lapses.

Onwards and upwards as surely Luton and Forest can't overcome or screw up a 12 goal goal-difference. can we?
