I've no other way of contacting you Bowie, mate, to express my deepest sadness for the passing of your sister Christine. I lost my sister Julie aged 56 to breast cancer 10 years ago. Loved and missed every day. She was on the top corridor of M and S having worked her way up from the shop floor. She married a Mackem and lived in a big house outside Newton Aycliffe. They flew her from Newcastle to board meetings at HQ in Baker St and put her up in a huge flat near Marble Arch. At the end of every meeting Sir Michael Rose and his successors would take her aside and ask " Right Julie, never mind what they tell me, what's really happening in my stores".
She traveled the world. Any time you go into an M and S anywhere the layout and design is created by her. So very proud of her and light a candle for my her and my Dad in any Church on my own travels. Lit 2 candles in Estepona yesterday, my wife likewise. Stay strong mate. Grief is the reverse side of love.
Skeggs, I'm sorry for your troubles my friend. I know your Dads time hasn't come yet but I hope his passing is peaceful. I lost my Dad 5 years ago, aged 85, and he remains the finest man I've ever known or will ever know
