Bring in a Manager who can shore up the defence. Warburton has had long enough. He is never going sort out the defence. I would take Dougie Freedman or Billy Davies to come back. Billy knew how to change things when things were going wrong. No doubt we will get a foreign Manager.

Like the Swansea play off game you mean? Davies was given a fortune and still couldn’t bully his way out of the league. He ignored the Academy, the only thing that has kept us afloat since he left. He can rot in his pile of Forest cash north of the border.

Dougie Freedman on the other hand had no money and did a good job. Despite having no fit strikers he was sacked for not attacking enough. I remember at the time we had loads of inside information on Dougie’s time at Palace, funny that!

2.) 16 Oct 2017 10:12:45
tell you what, just stick with a manager instead of all this shortsightedness.

3.) 16 Oct 2017 13:21:13
Agree sutton i hate it when we lose but it was no better under other managers other teams are just as bad take sunderland yet to win at home in 2017 and still get crowds of 30000 let's tough it out and hope for better things to come

If we loose on Saturday then I think Warburton should go. Does anyone know of a worse home run and run with so many gaols against? He was here last season and surely he must have seen how poor the defence was. He has had time to sort it out and he has not done so. People are moaning about the negativity going around against MW, with the results and the consistent leaking of lots goal, how can it be anything else.

Well I would of said jake we were desperate for a good holding midfielder at the end of last season to also a striker with losing assombongola and if you look at the money he had to spend after signing them I would say that left 2 million at the most who would you of got in for that sort of money that would of made a difference we don't know why he didn't sort the defence out as we know our self's that it needs sorting and we're not managers but maybe the money to by the right defenders weren't there and do we really want to be wasting money like we have done on crap players he's bought well and hopefully come January he can buy well in defence if he is given the money to spend on the right players just saying

2.) 28 Sep 2017 15:24:18
I want him to stay and things to improve, but it seems such an odd one?

Liking the fact MW is trying to change things but there have been a lot of mistakes made. And quite big ones at that. Thankfully they are all on the field and this can be changed.

It would be a mistake to get rid of the management team because they bring so much to the club as a whole.
Maybe MW will make all his mistakes early and all we need is patience?
He does seem like someone who's willing to learn and change but can he adapt quickly enough and find the right formula and motivation to get the boys playing like a team.

let's hope things pick up and we make it to Jan relatively unscathed. Going to need some new defenders (or play the good ones we have) and we desperately ask Roy Keane to lace a pair and show them how to run a midfield.

3.) 28 Sep 2017 20:40:21
70. Rest assured Mr Warburton is constantly working on our defence, he stated that recently. Things are not looking good at the moment but we have to try and stay positive. It is one thing saying you think he will be sacked, but to say he should go if we lose i feel after 10 games it is a over reaction. I think the players have to realise they should use their own initiative and creativity, for instance i bet when Carayol scored recently that was not in the managers play book, yet the manager praised what he did, other than McKay no other players seem to dare to use their initiative. 10 games with his own players is no time to at all we all need to be a bit more tolerance, and the players need some more gumption.

3 home defeats on the trot, and 7 goals conceded. Warburton must go now. Sure if we loose against Sheffield United he will be sacked. I am one for Billy Davies coming back or Dougie Freedman. We are in a relegation battle now.

Jake70

1.) 26 Sep 2017 23:34:41
Have you been on the poll Jake?

2.) 27 Sep 2017 09:45:07
Listen I loved Billy here but no way a third time. And no Dougie. I really hope Warbo can sort it because we need a manager to last more than a few months.

3.) 27 Sep 2017 09:57:31
Bring Billie back the poll is going well for him

4.) 27 Sep 2017 11:24:31
Still in September but we are in a relegation battle? lol.

You hang out with Chicken Licken way too much:)

I believe MW is on borrowed time, defeat in the next game and I think he will be gone. 4 losses out of the last 5 Championship games is not good enough. Birmingham's goals against is 13, Sunderland's is 14 and they are in the bottom 3. Our goals against is 15. Only Hull at 16 and Bolton at 19 or worse than ours. He knew about this defence last season, why or why did we not strengthen in that area. How many other clubs have had 3 different captains? We really need defensive Dougie back or we will be relegated. MW does not seem able to stop the rot.

Jake70

1.) 24 Sep 2017 15:09:55
That is the point. He has had the time but has he got the nouse????

2.) 24 Sep 2017 17:16:04
Glad you posted that Jake, last time you said that we won.
Nailed on win then.

MW Should have bought defenders before the close of the window. he has made a huge mistake not doing so which may cost him his job, Mills and Fox not good enough and how long have we known about that? Worrall not quite ready and needs a break. Henderson very poor last night, cannot see him in the first team again. Was there anyone playing last that will keep the shirt?

Jake70

1.) 21 Sep 2017 13:56:13
I wouldn't be too harsh on Henderson he has been out a very long time and your first competitive game back is chelsea away poor bloke his confidence would of already been low and lacking sharpness

2.) 21 Sep 2017 14:19:42
Henderson was poor when he first came to us but after a few games he was superb. He will get back in the swing no worries.

3.) 21 Sep 2017 15:15:03
Not too worried about last night. different if that happened in a league game. after all it's valued now as a polished up bin lid!!!

4.) 21 Sep 2017 16:47:01
Henderson (together with Smith) are nowhere near ready for Championship football. They should go out on loan and learn their trade at some other club. Last night against Chelsea I had to follow the game on Sky Sports text. They said, quote, 'The goalkeeper won't be happy with his positioning', for the opening goal: 'The ball slips through Henderson far too easily and into the net', for goal three. We know that we have defensive problems, but the effect would be mitigated if we could depend on our goalkeeper. I know we tried to sign an experienced goalie, and failed through no lack of effort, but it should be a priority when the opportunity represents itself. Perhaps last night would then have been 3-1 or better.

5.) 21 Sep 2017 19:10:52
Totally agree , we desperately need an experienced keeper.Last night the goals conceded were embarrassing. Smith should be back in for SAT, he is probably just the best of a weak threesome.

6.) 21 Sep 2017 19:23:01
Bang on the mark Terry. Henderson has to be disappointed with 3 of those goals last night. He was getting beaten from all angles when he played last season due to poor positioning.Top of the shopping list for me followed by a left back and right back that can defend.

Bezman We do not want beautiful football at the moment. We need results and clean sheets, it is not as though we are unlucky and loosing One Nil. We are loosing at home and leaking too many goals. How many losses do there have to be before the owners sack the manager ? Not many more I am afraid. Another loss tomorrow and MW will be gone.

Redfin If we loose the next 2 games we will be in a relegation scrap, we are virtually in one now. I would think we will have a foreign manger next time, no doubt all ready being lined up.

syred I do not think it will be a knee jerk reaction if Warburton is sacked after the Burton. I cannot remember such a bad run of defeats and leaking goals, virtually 2 every game. The manager does not appear to know how to change or stop this. He has had money to spend and been well backed by the new owners. He should haved brought in 2 centre halves in the close season. Surely he must have known last season that the defence needed sorting out. I would imagiane a new manager is being sourced, no doubt it will be a foreign manager.

bserd I agree with you. I really cannot see Waburton holding on to his job. A defeat or draw with Burton will in my view see him sacked. He has known about the defence since last season. What happened to clean sheets ? When we loose which is all time it is never even One Nil. When thing are going against us he has no idea how to change things.

This could be seen as one of the most important wins of the season for sake of MW and the whole squad. We had lost 2 on the bounce and loosing 3 would have been a distater. At last a clean sheet. We can buld on this, what a difference a win make to the league table and confidence.

Redinexile We cannot recruit your suggestion of 2-3 players until January unless there a free Agents available which will only be scraps. We could be relegated by then. We have recruited plenty of attackers and midfielders, however we needed central defenders. Fox and Mills are not up to it, how many times have they been questioned on this site alone ? Is Worrall ready yet. Manciene's form has also been questioned. I was not in favour of retaining Cohen or even Vaughan as they are both so injury prone, neither are fit at present.

In the Leeds game I could not see that he tried to change it, if he did it did not work. It was the most one sided first half I have seen in many years. We have not strenghend in the right departments when we had the chance. Time is something the new owners will not give MW. The conceding goals to amount we are will get any Manager the sack.
