Just a quick general observation before bed here which has been on my mind for a while. With all the time and money invested in professional players' development in the modern game - surely players can be coached and become proficient at kicking a ball equally well with both feet nowadays?! CHO springs to mind along with others.

07 May 2024 05:37:46
Well you certainly can't. ( Only beacause i know you like a good laugh at yourself buddy ) 🤣🎈.

07 May 2024 10:40:36
I really put my foot in it with that post Balloons.

07 May 2024 10:51:36
Well their you have it, no points back. They could have been more vindictive, so I am glad of there generosity. How wonderful it is that we hAve such an fair unbiased group on the committee who play it straight down the middle. Skin really to football's highest authority in Switzerland, and look what happened to them.
But if we infringed the rules, we asked for punishment, like all the other clubs who have not yet been disclosed, (ooops should not have said that), what the hell.
A draw with Chelsea will do.

07 May 2024 11:05:58
Looks like we’ve lost the appeal, so no points back. Well we’ll have to carry on and do it on the pitch.

06 May 2024 21:54:28
How many times did Murillo save our bacon on Saturday. A display that maybe saved us from defeat and almost certain relegation. No way can we sell this young player who will captain his own country one day.

Agree5 Disagree0

06 May 2024 22:15:27
He's saved our bacon more than just one game
Remember the magnificent header off the line recently?
Just class.

06 May 2024 22:20:34
Great player works a 110 percent greater things to come from the lad.

06 May 2024 22:31:00
Brilliant game, but i think sels needs a shout out on the game also.

06 May 2024 22:34:09
Well, we have signed one good player recently - probably more out of luck than judgement given our lacklustre recruitment team. Thanks for sharing Doc.

06 May 2024 22:45:07
To be fair murrillo is doing what he’s paid for, pity a few more don’t.

06 May 2024 22:46:39
Definitely my player of the season.

06 May 2024 23:19:43
He's total class gazza
But not good enough for balloons 😁🤣🤣.

06 May 2024 21:22:47
Bowle, just read through and saw your response.
Listen pal, I don’t think anyone would take the piss out of your spelling, wouldn’t even take the piss out of what you say - unlike our Stella mate 🤣.

I can guarantee you I only ever respond to you with sincerity and would never take the piss out of spelling, missing words or anything - if you read my posts you’ll see a word missing or a spelling mistake in everyone. Only stokey is a master - rest of us just muddle through mate👍.

07 May 2024 12:28:54
Surely the vast majority of posters on here appreciate Bowie for the sheer honesty and passion he shows without worrying too much about the spelling? I know I do!
Anyway, as Melvyn Bragg once said English is such a tart of a language it evolves constantly, nicks the best bits of other languages and is not too fussy about spelling and punctuation. Have a look at Jack Kerouac s “On the Road” written at breakneck speed fuelled by Benzadrine and whiskey. Still a classic! Words also change in meaning so “nice” nowadays means pleasant but 200 years ago it meant pernickety or fussy.
Anyway, Bowie mate ask your lovely lady how she spells “colour” “or color “ as an American. It’s different but who cares we all understand. Or “through “ to us means to pass through something but when an American says “it’s through “ it means it over.
As I've said before Old English is largely meaningless to us when you first read it but eventually you understand it. Read aloud it sounds distinctly Geordie so you keep posting mate. Your spelling could be the correct one in 5, 10, 100 or 500 years, who knows. Your name might appear in the Oxford English Dictionary as the original inventor of a word mate! 👍👍👏🏻👏🏻.

07 May 2024 13:20:44
Murillo will be hard to hold onto unless we offer him a repackaged deal ( which we probably can't afford). Sels has been great and would be happy to have him as our no 1. Get rid of Turner and vlaco. Find a decent young no 2. Keep neco, aini, toffs, niahkate, omobamidele, Murillo, boly, MGW, Elanga, CHO, Awoniyi, Wood. Thoughts on Tavares? Could we get him cheap on a permanent? Give Ribeiro more time. Get rid of origi, montiel, Reyna, Kouyate, Sangare, ARTER (PRICK). Unsure on Dominguez and worrall.

07 May 2024 15:33:30
Bowie is already listed in the Oxford English Dictionary, Stokie, just looked it up.

Glasner getting a real tune out of Palace now. He was my choice for our managerial vacancy as well as Lopetegui but the latter knew about our FFP problems. However Glasner still wanted the job. Instead we chose Nuno and the rest is history.

06 May 2024 12:10:17
Have noted this morning that referees might soon wear cameras. Alarm bells! We don't want refs becoming celebrities which is just beginning to creep in lately. They need not to be noticed. Would players enjoy seeing themselves cursing and abusing officials? Would some players simply play to the camera?

06 May 2024 17:37:50
Hopefully Norfolk 🤣🤣 like the 70s wrestling, 👍 long live world of sport. Bit##es and there handbags ready to hit them going through the tunnel. The public need it.

We'll see how it works (if at all) tonight in the Palace/ United match.

06 May 2024 21:06:36
They've already got shaving foam in their back pocket.

06 May 2024 05:32:01
Good feeling knowing if Luton and Burnley lose or Luton only get a point, we only need 1 point from 2 games to survive. With the turmoil this year, happy to stay up as second year is always the hardest. Irrelevant of what anyone here says, proud of the club, the boys, staff and yes even Mr M. Despite his hands on approach and callus attitude at least his wiling to committ money.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 May 2024 05:48:17
A bonus in some ways that they both play before we do on Saturday. If they both lose then we are safe barring a massive goal swing. I know it happened in the championship a few seasons ago but I can't see it happening this time.

06 May 2024 07:08:31
My feeling is, if forest beat Chelsea it's game over. If we win then either get one of two points back, if we draw the points will be held back till the last game of the season is played. If we beat Burnley it's game over again.
By doing that the FA, PL, are giving both Burnley and Luton the best chance to avoid relegation, if they don't get enough points then we get as many points as you like, it does not matter, Luton and Burnley are down.
It makes the authorities look good and fair, BS, they want us down. This vendetta against us goes back a few years for what ever reason.
It's only my opinion but, ?.

06 May 2024 10:11:34
It goes back further than a few years 22, as I remember it began when sir Brian took us up and upset the Liverpool Newcastle dominance.

06 May 2024 11:12:38
Good post Red socks and Red vale. Agree entirely! 👍👍.

06 May 2024 12:16:00
We'll be safe by 5pm Saturday, both Luton and Burnley will loose. To all those questioning Marinakis, his investment has kept us in the prem. Look at no investment Sheffield Utd, that could of been us. Some say, look at Luton they've not spent, they're still going the same way as the blades. I quite like a owner who shows his passion and frustrations. The only thing he hasn't got right is his hiring of some of his recruitment team, not all of them somebody must of found Murillo.

06 May 2024 12:17:40
Red Vale, not quite getting the Newcastle dominance. Last time they won anything was the 1950s.

06 May 2024 14:00:22
Get your point MV, it was Malcolm McDonald’s remarks about forest winning 3 nil against arsenal. He just said HA HA HA, so as I remember we put them to bed next game. Didn’t hear anything from him after that.

06 May 2024 14:13:20
I'm not surprised MV, when Bowie keeps turning up at the training ground with chicken parmo's and vodka ice lollys for the players, singing 🎼🎵 Is this the way to Our Morillo everyday I keep hugging my pillow dreaming dreams of Our Morillo and Ryan Yates who scores for me 🎵🎵 🎈.

06 May 2024 14:53:58

If we get a point back Burnley are as good as gone if we get 2 back we will be 5 in front of Luton with 2 games to play if we mess this up from here we deserve to go down simple as.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 May 2024 20:35:25
1point out of our last 2 games effectively relegates Burnley, and leaves Luton needing to win their last 2 games,

05 May 2024 21:50:04
Burnley already down for me, haven't won two games on trot all season
West hams loss today leaves a worry
Only luton are the danger, the gial difference is significant though and makes them four points behind us.

06 May 2024 09:09:23
We're done for now with DTP giving out his predictions championship here we come.

05 May 2024 17:43:15
Just a few thoughts.
Firstly, as I said before the game, Yates should always start. Every dazzling architect needs a hod carrier before he can create a beautiful building. The skipper got through a load of work to steady the ship when we were under the cosh first half. His goal was just the icing on the cake, but set the tone for the second half recovery Energy, enthusiasm and work rate first class. reminded me of Walt Whitmans poem
"O Captain! My Captain! Our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exalting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring "
Secondly, Sels, Murillo, Boly and, of course CHO immense. I said it wouldn't be easy. Having had to sit amongst the Blades fans I can tell you they hate us with a passion!
Thirdly, great to see Taiwo get a run out especially as Woody seems to have hit the buffers recently.
Likewise, Dominquez did well in a cameo
Lastly, it was a vital result but the danger is not over. Lutons opponents West Ham look a bit flakey and Spurs likewise. Whereas I was hoping Chelsea would be "on the beach " but they are on fire atm with Europa League in sight. I still think it will be decided next weekend before we kick off, though our goal difference advantage will come into play.
It seems as though the Appeal panel will be delaying their decision until a point when it becomes irrelevant therefore avoiding the embarrassment of a team of lawyers relegating a club rather than their results.
But we are now on the front foot and I'm confident we will survive.

Agree3 Disagree0

05 May 2024 19:09:53
As always Stokey however I think the hod carriers architect must do much better. At the moment he's just about garden shed design standard.

05 May 2024 19:47:59
I got as far as "O Captain! and wanted to self harm 🤣🤣 God its relentless 🥴🎈.

05 May 2024 20:42:51
Stokey certainly talks a load of sense Balloons - that is, until he goes into 'Ronnie Corbett mode' where I too tune-out! I love his posts.

05 May 2024 21:00:55
Ironically, you must have seen 'Dead Poets Society' Balloons, and you could 'seize the day'! If you didn't see the film, Stokey might need to explain.

05 May 2024 21:34:38
I might be ex-Intelligence Corps Norfolk, but I must admit I find it hard at times to keep up with both your and Stokey's posts! Keep it up gents - I'm sure it must be helping my mental dexterity in my mid-50's when I need it more than ever.

05 May 2024 22:19:05
You might want to pass some of that intelligence on to Balloons, Legless. 🤣🤣🤣.

05 May 2024 23:14:13
Well, I do believe in sharing D3!

05 May 2024 23:50:48
Of sound mind and body Derby, nothing floating around my body except Roast beef and Orange juuce this fine sunday 😋 🎈.

06 May 2024 11:10:45
Norfolk, mate, I’ve always been a firm advocate of “Carpe diem” long before the wonderful Robin Williams said it in “Dead Poets Society”. Especially now that my days available are, inevitably, decreasing exponentially.! 👍👍.

06 May 2024 12:00:01
And beer ya hypocrite. 🤣🤣.

06 May 2024 12:34:33

06 May 2024 17:43:46

05 May 2024 16:13:45
Forest ARE taking legal action over that numpty Neville. Good.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 May 2024 17:16:51
I find that a tad pointless. It's not going to make a difference on the League positions. Neville is an idiot but he's entitled to his opinion.

05 May 2024 17:22:27
His comments, with mention of words like “mafia” were, from a libellous or defamation point of view, ill advised. Might cost him a few bob in the long run. Probably settle out of court….

05 May 2024 17:49:25
It's just words from one person against a football club, we need to get a grip and get over it. I said before stop treating our club like a circus and just concentrate on the football. I've read worse on here, Legless, Munmad amongst others took some rather serious stick the other week regards the army but they don't threaten to sue. Argue, disagree move on everybody's entitled to an opinion whether you think it's harsh, right or wrong. Since we been back in the prem it's done my head to be honest, VAR, refs, overpaid divers, cheaters and moaners. But if I don't like it I stop supporting which I won't do so have a moan and move on. It's time the people inside Forest put their big boy pants on.

05 May 2024 21:08:53
I couldn't agree with you more CIG. Whilst I think his comments did cross the mark - so what? IMO Forest as a club have also crossed the mark with the accusation of bias from match officials against us coupled with the implication of corruption in the PL. Whether this is right or wrong, we as a club have shown no decorum nor dignity in the way we have raised these issues. I have read some on here comment that they 'don't care' about our behaviour as a club in this regard. Personally, I do. It belittles our great history as a club and makes us a laughing-stock. Nobody likes a whinger. Whilst I agree Forest have been hard done-by this season and we are right to bring this issue up it reminds me of the song by the Fun Boy Three - "It ain't what you do it's the way that you do it, and that's what gets results. "

05 May 2024 23:26:30
Unfortunately Clough in legal terms Neville’s comments are in public and through the mass medium of TV therefore he is potentially in breach of libel and defamation civil laws and liable to being sued for damages. His employer through which the comments were made ( Sky? ) are also liable. It’s not at all like the “banter” made in private on here. The key word is “Mafia” which implies involvement in criminality mate. I’d imagine you will probably hear of some sort of back tracking and apology from Sky and Neville in the near future and a settlement ( perhaps a donation to a charity of Mr M s choice would be a reasonable remedy perhaps)

05 May 2024 23:30:26
Pointless getting involved in these situations
Loads of people criticised people
You can't keep suing.

05 May 2024 23:31:45
Well said Legless, yes I agree we've been treated harshly but your never going to win against the powers that be. Blimey if a television company such as Sky can dictate when football games can be played and on what day, what hope against the actual organisations that run football.

06 May 2024 05:33:36
The UK has become far to Americanised, DTP. A lot of people are using US words instead of British words at times and the US culture of money chasing and suing. So suing people for saying something that hurts others' feelings, as they do over the pond, is a natural progression.

06 May 2024 11:30:25
It won’t proceed to Court probably but he settled before the hearing with an exchange of letters between barristers mate.
Over the years the Police Federation ( our Union of you like) have successfully sued the media (and rich individuals) for millions in damages over attacks on the integrity of Police Officers, serving and retired…
Bless ‘em!
At least litigation has replaced the old remedy for insults namely duelling ( often, but not always to the death). As long as protocol was observed ie challenge thrown down, choice of weapons ( pistol, swords) seconds and availability of medical help, the survivor was never prosecuted. If you were up against a skilled swordsman or marksman it was basically a death sentence but at least you died with honour intact.
Of course this was only available to “gentlemen “. The lower classes just resolved their differences with a dagger in a dark alley followed by hanging of the killer was caught.
Went back centuries …. Think Charlton Heston in “El CID” having to fight and kill the Kings Champion and father of Sophia Loren.
The form of words was exquisite too. “ I can be found Sir at the Cross and Lamb Inn between the hours of noon and 1pm should you wish to demand satisfaction of me on a field of honour”.
Now it’s just “ see ya in Court tosser! ” 😂😂😂😂.

05 May 2024 15:56:15
Well, just as you thought the Chelsea game might be winnable. they're walloping West Ham 5-0 at the moment. Could be the 'Derby' factor I guess with bout being London clubs. but, this has now got me really concerned. It looks like it'll be down to the last bleddy game. it good.

There in great form can't see us getting anything from them.

05 May 2024 16:21:22
More concerning is West Hams form as Luton play them next.
If West Ham win, it won't matter what we do against Chelsea.

05 May 2024 16:23:31
Yes, but West Ham will need to repay their fans after getting hammered, so hopefully they’ll come out firing against Luton. And Chelsea have hit form true, but if we play like we did against City, we may get a point. And if West Ham have already beat Luton, (especially if Burnley have lost too) then it’s almost a free hit. And if we get a point or two back…. It’s all ifs, buts and maybes!

05 May 2024 16:28:58
Flip it round mate, West ham be well up for luton next week. if they both lose we'll be safe before Chelsea anyway.

05 May 2024 16:54:36
KEEP CALM
AND
SUPPORT FOREST.

05 May 2024 17:07:27
If you go back to when we played and beat the Hammers 2-0 at home they had just off the back of a 6-0 thrashing against Arsenal. West Ham were terrible against us so hopefully they will be in reverse form vs Luton.

05 May 2024 20:30:55
Are you sure you remember that far back you was probably out your face derby 🤣.

05 May 2024 21:46:04
I was definitely drunk that day, Skegs. Of that I can assure you. Not as bad as my missus was last night when she got back, though. No idea what she was drinking.

05 May 2024 21:58:10
The downside to getting drunk is that you can still feel sh! te for days after. The missus has been hanging all day. So I got the guitar out and plugged it into the amp to annoy her. She was not impressed at all. hahaha.

05 May 2024 22:03:36
To make it worse I was playing a few Metallica riffs. All I got was 'TURN THE FU**ER DOWN, SHAUN! '. NO! was my reply.

05 May 2024 23:53:24
Well Derby Squire's do make an awful sound so you can't blame her 🤣🎈.

06 May 2024 05:42:02
I'm a damn good guitarist I'll have you know. Choice of music might not be everyone's cup of tea. But it's difficult stuff to learn. Nothing basic about metal music.

06 May 2024 07:41:09
As long as you know 3 chords and can shake your head 🤣🎈.

06 May 2024 08:31:02
I can just imagine derby now smashed out of his face head banging is long dreadlocks strumming on a make belief guitar what a site 🤣🤣🤣.

06 May 2024 12:09:17
3 chords, Balloons? It's not Status Quo, my duck. That's the stuff you learn at the beginning of playing guitar. Incidentally, you don't generally play full chords in thrash metal. But you keep thinking that you need to.

06 May 2024 12:37:03
Nearly correct, Skegs. Strumming a real guitar swinging my make believe long hair as I'm bald as a coot. Can't grow the stuff.

06 May 2024 12:41:14
Just think if you didn't spend your money on wacky backy you could own a 1961 USA Stratocaster like mine. That keeps my Les paul Gold top and Gibson 339 company, resting on my Messa Boogie. I suppose there a place for Squires somewhere in the world 🤣🎈.

06 May 2024 13:05:07
Nice guitars but I bet you can't play any of them. 🤣🤣🤣. I'm happy with my Gibson 80's Explorer, in red of course, and my ESP LTD KH-202. Although the ESP one isn't as good as the Explorer. But Gibson guitars tend to have a better pick up.

06 May 2024 13:31:42
I'd like a Flying V. Gibson of course,

06 May 2024 14:10:23
My wacky backy is half price because a friend of mine grows quite a lot of it. Mate's rate's. You know how it is.

06 May 2024 14:23:46
Oh I can play. Flying V' awkward buggers to hold and Explorers Ulgy but Gibson are awesome no matter what shape and as for ESP, the only decent guitar Hammett owns is Gary Moores Greeny 59 burst. 2 million quid. ouch 🤣🤣🎈.

06 May 2024 14:25:12
Oh I know how it is Derby. Picture yourself in a boat on a river with tangerine trees and marmalade sky's. 🤣🎈.

06 May 2024 15:44:02
I think that's a reference to LSD. Not the same drug and definitely not the same effect at all.

06 May 2024 15:56:33
The Beatles music is too easy to play. Nothing technical or complex at all. Just basic chords.

06 May 2024 16:55:04
I wish was 10 quid behind McCartney for the simplicity. It ain't all about shredding mate. Anyvway get on the blues Stevie Ray Vaughan and Matt Schofield, Gary Moore 🎈.

06 May 2024 17:45:29
Balloons, your '61 Strat is a beauty. But sell the two scaffold planks and get some wacky backy. Then play your Strat!

06 May 2024 19:37:52
Gibson and Fender are like apples and oranges mate. Two completely different beasts mate. Nothing does blues rock like a Gibo (Gary Moore)
Stevie Ray, Matt Schofield blues the Strat mate. Love em all 🧡🎈.

06 May 2024 21:11:12
My guitar 8s better than yours and I can play better than you 🤣🤣
Schoolboy stuff.

06 May 2024 22:27:14
My flat pack is better than yours and you don't possess that talent to play a musical instrument, well maybe the triangle. Stick to picking your liver you've mastered that mate. 🤪🎈.

06 May 2024 23:54:42
Picking?
No I stick to being a die hard forest fab unlike you.

07 May 2024 05:54:22
Forest fab? They certainly are. Yes just sit there looking on. Always the bridesmade never the bride. 😁🎈.
