Terrible game. Whoever wibs on pens will get knocked out next game.
Toothless.

First game for us 18th July and still no incomings. Edgy times.
08 Jul 2026 09:07:53
At the end of the season, Bse, I expressed the hope that Mr M would get the ins and outs done early (always a tall order, bearing in mind the World Cup) and maintain stability by concentrating on a few quality signings rather than a scattergun approach and loads of mediocre players.
I never thought he'd sack VP.
I guess he's got the Ando situation sorted and money in the bank. The rest is unresolved.
08 Jul 2026 10:47:57
I would've liked to think Ollie had told Maranakis who he was looking to bring to the club before he signed his contract.
I really hope we don't piss about, and get very good players in the door!!!!
08 Jul 2026 15:12:14
Rogie, it's a nice thought, mate, but I think you're confusing NFFC with a well run club.
π
08 Jul 2026 15:42:02
I would imagine the recruitment has all changed now that Glasner has come in, because he wouldn't have come to us if he didn't have a say in what players he wants in. So, give it time, boys, calm down, stop putting the owner and club down because they've not recruited 20 players yet. Just saying. π
08 Jul 2026 16:27:16
Not biting, Skeggs!!!
Not today, mate!!!
08 Jul 2026 16:42:36
I'm just being honest, Rogie, what's to bite about? It's a discussion, ain't it.
08 Jul 2026 18:14:18
20 players is just what we don't want! 3 or 4 max. Build on last season. A prolific striker for Woody, a replacement for Ando, and beef up the goalkeeper department in case Sels gets injured.
08 Jul 2026 19:26:51
Where in the world are you going to get a prolific striker from? Haaland won't go for less than 200 million. π€£π€£π€£
08 Jul 2026 20:19:20
Well, Skeggs, that's why Forest employ a highly paid and expert recruitment team. I've no idea, but they did manage to sign a Β£100 million Brazilian centre back for Β£30m, and also the Geordie Pirlo for Β£35 million, and a duff goalkeeper, and just sold him for Β£115 million.
Have you any ideas?
08 Jul 2026 20:36:16
Besides which, Harland would sooner nail his gonads to a fence post than come to a madhouse like ours.
We are not in that market, nor have ever been. Who knows, we may get another season out of Woody, or Glasner might go with Taiwo? That's why we're paying him Β£13 million quid mate.
08 Jul 2026 20:44:08
Actually Stokie, that centre back cost Forest 11 million, so maybe you need to get your facts right. Also, where's the 100 million come from? Nobody has come in for him, so all ifs and buts, and the 115 million for the Geordie Maddona. Man City have more money than sense. Sels has been a brilliant buy, always said.
We will end up with Mateta, but he won't ever be prolific, but no need to be if we have other players chipping in
It's called team work, and that's what Glasner will bring, so you stick to your history books and let a football manager do his job. π
08 Jul 2026 22:37:08
Well googled Skeggs. Proves my point even more that there's cheap talent out there. I doubt, if push comes to shove, we will accept anything less than Β£100 million for Murillo, a superb ball playing, fast and athletic centre back are as rare as rocking horse π©. Liverpool are desperate for a Virgil type replacement, for example.
As for letting a football manager do his job, that's exactly what I'm advocating
After all, what do we know? I'm a retired cop and book reader and you just sit on a recliner, drinking Stella, cursing the world and unable to get a prediction right to safe your life.
Grumpy or what?
"As the afternoon wears on
And the alcohol wears off" eh? ππππ
08 Jul 2026 23:01:06
Stokey, we signed Murillo for Β£11 million and Anderson? Well, did we pay Β£35 million?
The Greek goalkeeper cost them 25 million in the deal and never got a look in. Sale of convenience, mate, for both clubs, so Anderson cost us next to nothing.
09 Jul 2026 09:22:06
Agreed, Dtp.
In both cases, great bits of business. Credit where it's due. πππππ
07 Jul 2026 22:31:11.
This game has got nil nil and pens written all over it.
So get ready for a goal soon. ππππ
07 Jul 2026 21:51:38
Is another name for the Colombia / Switzerland game βCharlie v the Chocolate Factoryβ πππ€π€.
07 Jul 2026 22:31:56
Nice one, Stokey.
07 Jul 2026 22:48:06
England vs Norway. Benefits vs Vikings. π€£π€£
07 Jul 2026 23:07:01
Most entertaining thing in the Swiss vs Colombia game is the ref, now it's extra time, fouls don't exist. ππ³
07 Jul 2026 23:12:49
Shameless Skeggs. ππ
England to beat? No way, easily. Bob, hope against no hope, mate.
07 Jul 2026 23:21:34
Odegaard and Halland will take England apart. And all the part time England football fans will be crying Saturday night because they won't have an excuse to wear a fake England shirt and be able to go out on the piss for the semis. π€£ π€£
07 Jul 2026 23:38:19
Norway will be a tough game.
Haaland is the best there is right now.
08 Jul 2026 09:10:12
The thing is, Skegs, that England are very unlikely to win the World Cup, so you will be right eventually. Welcome back, by the way.
08 Jul 2026 10:21:04
In the same way, perhaps, that a broken down clock is right twice every 24 hours ...?
ππππ
08 Jul 2026 12:43:48
Your jokes are a bit like that stokie.out of all the millions of people on the planet.there is probably one stupid person that will think one of your jokes are funny.or maybe just maybe there is one person that wouldn't fall asleep listening to you talk π€£π€£π€£
08 Jul 2026 14:44:19
Gotcha, Barry. π£π£π£
Is Paul still asleep? π€
08 Jul 2026 17:09:45
In your wildest dreams stokie.
07 Jul 2026 21:46:34
I see you've been talking about Balagoun, he's a Championship player for a national team at the same level, so had no outcome on the result.
All three host nations are not good enough to compete at the highest level.
The competition not worth watching till the knockout stages.
Too many top class players don't get a break with this prolonged format.
07 Jul 2026 22:17:20
I'd go along with that DTP in general terms. Cape Verde did well for a League 2 class side.
07 Jul 2026 22:28:42
Cape Verde just went for it, the rest just wanted to shut up shop, and who got the admiration?
07 Jul 2026 22:34:30
I wouldn't even say that, dtp. Semi-finals onwards, there's only 2 teams that were ever going to do well: France and Argentina. England had a great game the other night, but will be no match for Argentina.
And, as a man that likes a bit of a gamble, I've had to have Norway to win. Both teams to score on Saturday should pay for my beer next week. π
07 Jul 2026 22:42:56
You've never been a good gambler though, Skeggs, and that's where it all falls down, mate.
07 Jul 2026 22:47:13
I'm not a bad gambler, 79. I don't spend more than a tenner on a bet, because it's about fun. π I'm not doing too bad so far in the World Cup, mate.
07 Jul 2026 22:53:28
Do they accept those pads instead of money?
πππ
07 Jul 2026 22:59:51
Brilliant. π€£π³
07 Jul 2026 23:10:16
π€£π€£π€£ I wouldn't know anything about pads, but obviously you 2 ladies do. How's the Barbie dolls house rebuild going, Winter. π
07 Jul 2026 23:15:13
You must have seen the adverts while stuck to the recliner and placed an order. πππ
07 Jul 2026 23:16:47
Still waiting for the bog seat to be fitted! π³
07 Jul 2026 23:23:28
I actually thought that was Jay on the advert, multi tasking again. I mean, cheap and cheerful fish tank, random man walking around in his pants, talking rubbish. Isn't that the quintessential stereotype of Stella drinking Skegness local? π€ π³
07 Jul 2026 23:26:00
It's easy, Winter, just get a spanner and tighten your nuts up, do you the world of good. ππ
07 Jul 2026 23:29:53
Naught wrong with my nuts, pal. π€£ π³
07 Jul 2026 23:31:12
The recliner is great dtp. If I didn't after work I would be stuck in it. Like I haven't heard that a million times rrh, what reminds you? Have you written that in your school book to remind you? Come on now, it's way past your bedtime.
You're back at school in the morning, and then a good half hour on your Barbie house. Im off to bed now myself because im bored. See you tomorrow, ladies. π
07 Jul 2026 23:33:56
Nothing that a small monkey wrench won't sort. ππ
07 Jul 2026 23:37:11
Goodnight, Skegs. Remember too much of that and you'll go blind. π³
07 Jul 2026 21:40:57
Just a thought.
Last time the World Cup was in the USA. Who knocked England out?
Norway.
In qualifying.
Lightning shouldn't strike twice.
More a positive Karma.
07 Jul 2026 20:55:40
I loved watching Big Duncan play but he's not the best pundit.... He may as well be speaking Russian!!. π
07 Jul 2026 21:55:35
To be honest, mate, I find it much easier understanding Big Duncan and Disorderly than Wayne Mr Potato Head Rooney. π³
07 Jul 2026 21:58:46
It's a pathetic panel of "experts", all round.
What's the other three ever done?
07 Jul 2026 22:01:53
Too right, you'd have my vote to be on TV DTP. π³
07 Jul 2026 22:35:20
Gardeners question time?
07 Jul 2026 22:44:04
Anything's better than watching Swiss v Colombia, pal. π
07 Jul 2026 22:50:43
I was thinking more along the lines of the 'muppets', Gazz. Sorry, Titchmarsh, that was set up perfectly. π³
07 Jul 2026 22:51:42
But yeah, I agree, this match is poor. Roll on pens. π³
07 Jul 2026 18:36:35
Hassan the Egyptian right back for Forest. Incidentally England vs France final and England to triumph.
07 Jul 2026 21:55:55
He looked electric. π³
07 Jul 2026 18:28:30
I know VAR actually got that right, but, but, but, talk about sucking the life out of the game, wonderful Egyptian goal ruled out for a foul in opposite corner? Sad. π³
