Sporting 4 - Forest 1 and it's not over yet. Very worrying. I've been saying it and so have others. How does Zak Abbott get anywhere near the first 11? Another close range tap in from Igor Jesus that any League 1 striker would have put away. No shots from McAtee and no creativity from him. Seen it all last season. If Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi, Hutchinson and Murrillo aren't on fire this season, we're in big trouble.

Pleased that Glasner has seen this before the season starts. We need a big, fast dangerous striker quickly.
So he can fit in with the team. We also need to sign Anthony Elanga back before anyone else gets him - fantastic player. Rubbish.

Really looking forward to this season, rhr, and your game commentary of course. Which a lot of posters don't like. But it makes me smile, pal. A couple of decent signings and I think we will have a great season. But, as I said, I will be happy if we hold onto most of our best players, finish in the top ten, and build around them, and keep a decent manager for more than one season.

I mean, it could have been a lot worse. We could still have Dyche in charge, be in the Championship, and have him still at the helm. So, lots to look forward to. ?

01 Aug 2026 08:16:00
Zach Abbot is nowhere near a first team player.
We need better back up players in every department.
Come on, Ollie, get cracking!!!!!

01 Aug 2026 09:05:41
Who thought playing 2 games on the same day was a good idea? Especially with such a big game last night, against the Portuguese champions! I know the team that played in the morning didn't feature last night, but it meant we had no options on the bench to change things!

If I had the money, I'd be putting an offer in for the brilliant central midfielder who scored.

Quality. Forget Bergval!

01 Aug 2026 09:06:04
Double I think!

01 Aug 2026 09:08:34
I wouldn't worry too much about last night. I believe Sporting's season proper starts next weekend, so they're a few weeks ahead of us fitness wise. Plus, we played the same 11 the whole match and ran out of steam as the match went on. With the intensive training we looked knackered, especially with the game in the morning.

I'm more concerned that OG's remarks about players complaining about the training regime (after all, they do have form for it) were meant lightheartedly and last night wasn't a punishment selection.
In our current manager we trust.
Perhaps OG is sending a message to Mr M that he needs incomings urgently?

01 Aug 2026 09:16:23
Glaser said himself the other day in an interview. The club will only buy players that will strengthen the team, and only at the right price in this crazy market of prices this window. It really is that simple.

We have a good team, top 10. We're not going to break ffp by going out and spending silly money for the sake of it. So moan as much as you want. If Glaser's happy with that, that will do me.

01 Aug 2026 09:25:07
"We have a good team?"
Am I hearing right, Skeggs?
Same guy who lambasted them for most of last season, along with your mate.
Then again, we have the right manager this time, haven't we?
Let's hope we do, as I said before, I'm expecting a far better this time round... think we All deserve it.
Over to you, Ollie.

01 Aug 2026 09:25:44
A top 10 team? Really, Skeg, too much Stella, I'd say, to come out with that comment. We do need to strengthen the team with at least 4 additional players.
Marinakis can open the purse strings to strengthen his first love, but low-ball prices for potential transfers.

Diamonde was supposed to be a definite incoming player, yet still no sign of him.
Read has gone quiet!
As Stokey states, and rightly so, we need players ASAP, otherwise I can see us struggling if none are purchased.
Also, who is Glaser?

01 Aug 2026 09:36:42
Missed you, Rhr! Welcome back to the mad house.

It's hot in Alicante. Hope the new players are this hot.

COYR!

01 Aug 2026 09:45:43
Lambasted the managers and some of the team, as did a lot of other posters, my dear Rogie, facts please. ? And your dam right, we have the right manager. A lot of clubs in the Premier League would be grateful for so, cheery up pal. As I said, it could be a lot lot worse, we could still have Dycheball in charge. Chill. ?

01 Aug 2026 10:14:32
Imagine Skegs, a whole season of Cretaceous Ball in front of us. ? ?

01 Aug 2026 10:16:34
Ripley, that's your opinion, not mine. And, as for Stokie's comments, I don't see them. All I see under Stokie is text hidden. It's great for the eyes and the shortest comments I've ever seen from him. ? Anybody who doesn't like my comments, try it. It really does put a smile back on your face. Anyway, we love Glasner and Mr M.

01 Aug 2026 10:49:00
Ripley, good post, mate. I'm not sure whether it's Dyche or me, or both of us, living rent free in a certain poster's head. Thank goodness he won't see this in case it sets him off again. ??????

01 Aug 2026 10:39:45
Ripley, I didn’t realise we’d got the actor who played Starsky in charge either……
I remember Roy Keen in charge at Sunderland playing a pre season friendly at Forest many years ago, when he took off a player at the start of the second half, didn’t replace him and played with 10. There were reports that several players had complained about his fitness regime and this was his reply to show them who was boss and increase their workload by ten per cent.

Plus a calculated insult to Forest. I think they held on to a one nil half time lead fairly comfortably.
I’m sure that’s not what OG was doing. After all I don’t know of any dictatorial Austrians, do you? ……??????

01 Aug 2026 11:26:01
Stokey, that's brilliant.
I would not characterise Arnold Schwarzenegger as dictatorial in any way.
As my old pal's dad used to say, car keys and clutch.
I am in complete agreement with the idea of residing in Skeggs Head, as the vastness of the void bears a resemblance to the Grand Canyon.
On a serious note, we do need players asap.

01 Aug 2026 11:31:34
Heard Dyche has landed his dream job, Head of the National Farmers Union. Agriculture reforms incoming. ?

01 Aug 2026 11:22:00
Don't need to produce any facts Skeggs, you and your other half know it chum.
So what do you expect from Glasner then???
I'm all "Lineker's" (Ears).
???

01 Aug 2026 12:21:41
I expect a top 10 finish, Rogie. Not really rocket science, is it, pal. Well, unless. ???

01 Aug 2026 13:12:57
RRH, that's an interesting appointment for SD, mate.
When he was appointed, it caused many people to "furrow" their brows, as they didn't like his "stile". I personally thought that was a load of "bull", and that some on here "milked" it a bit.

As far as I'm concerned, they can pull the "udder" one.
Who knows, with a "crop" of new players and another team, SD could make us all look "sheepish". He could go on to "GOAT". Well, things to do, mate, must "plough" on.

01 Aug 2026 12:36:43
Ripley, those brilliant Terminator films were an absolute gift for Arnie with his robotic acting style mate. Personally, I can’t think of a better example of casting can you? Superb!?

01 Aug 2026 13:53:54
That it then, Skeggs???
No trophies???

01 Aug 2026 14:09:07
A question for anyone who thinks we don't have a decent squad. Who don't we have from the team that qualified for Europe? And we have some new players going into a second year who should get better. We've added Schlager and will be adding a good CB and RWB, probably another MF.

We should do well. No European games to distract.

01 Aug 2026 14:20:06
Just for you, Stokey.
I'll be back. ??
To be fair I prefer Predator.
If it bleeds, we can kill it. ?

01 Aug 2026 14:35:50
I agree, Red Cyclist... However, a proven striker is a priority for me.

01 Aug 2026 14:50:28
Hardest thing to find in football, Rogie.
Try naming one other that's available?
I can't, mate, and Arsenal still can't find one.
Like I've said, Jesus will score the goals this season after having a break from football.

31 Jul 2026 15:12:44
The X man has hit the net. Hope he has plenty of them in the bag for this season.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jul 2026 19:49:33
Jesus 1 nil uredddssss uredddssss.

31 Jul 2026 21:58:24
Living the Forest dream uredddssss uredddssss. ??

31 Jul 2026 14:30:48.
For what it’s worth the Reds beat Portimonense 2 goals to one in the behind closed doors friendly this morning.
Taiwo and Schlager for us.

Agree4 Disagree0

31 Jul 2026 15:38:59.
Taiwo scored just before half time from a penalty after Hutchinson was brought down after a cross into the box from Netz. Sanghere and Taiwo had both hit the woodwork before then.
They equalized from a failure to clear a ball in our penalty area, then Xavi Schlager scored an absolute cracker for the winner.

Seen his goal, and he beat a couple of players before unleashing a cracking shot from just inside the box.
Don't know the teams, etc.

31 Jul 2026 16:25:19
He was without doubt one of the greats.
RIP Franco.

31 Jul 2026 18:46:47
There’s enough fascist right wingers on here Rogie without you bringing up the Spanish Civil War mate ……..Long live the Republic …???????✊?✊?✊?

31 Jul 2026 19:39:50
Oops!!

31 Jul 2026 21:37:22
Still living the "Forest Dream", Skeggs?

31 Jul 2026 21:50:29
Outclassed by the looks of it.
However, totally changed team as we played earlier in the day.
Am I right in thinking we didn't have enough Subs tonight?

31 Jul 2026 21:58:32
Not knocking the team, Skeggs...
Just don't get too carried away, mate.

31 Jul 2026 20:54:19
I bet Stokey Polanski has that on his t-shirt, Republic rebel scum, you should try the Dark Side, you might like it.
Long Live the Galactic Empire?. ?

01 Aug 2026 10:43:48
RRH, mate, on the advice of my defamation lawyer, I wish to point out that the Stokey Polanski branch of the family does not wish to be associated with either the bent and talentless politician or the pedophile film director. Thank you for your attention in this matter. ???

01 Aug 2026 11:25:25
? Genuinely sorry, mate, I meant the Green Party leader, hence the t-shirt jibe. I completely forgot about the other guy. Please accept my sincerest apology. ??

01 Aug 2026 12:26:12
I know who you meant, mate. I was just riffing on the name for a laugh. ???
Absolutely no offence taken, mate.

01 Aug 2026 12:28:16
Zac is a truly useless grifter imo.

31 Jul 2026 12:54:33
Players complaining about the tough training …… I blame Dyche …. ???.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Jul 2026 12:29:14
On a day that we see a tremendous Italan football legend pass, we still have the spectre of FIFA trying to sell football down the road! Whichever way FIFA spin it, it is still selling football!

I've just read a new report, that Infitanos' personal advisor has resigned in protest! He states he has not been involved, it's a bad deal for Football, it's a bad deal for fans and it's a bad decision by FIFA for 'allegedly' agreeing to this!

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jul 2026 09:03:59
Rip Franco Baresi, growing up, being an avid Football Italia viewer, you were one of the great Serie A defenders. ?

Agree3 Disagree0

31 Jul 2026 10:40:08
A great defender, with a detailed knowledge of the dark arts, tough as teak, a superb football brain to make up for his lack of great pace and small frame.
Playing alongside the likes of Maldini and Costacurta, with Dino Zoff in goal, Italy didn't concede many. They were like Arsenal in the days of Adams. Stubborn and a tough watch at times, but very effective.

31 Jul 2026 10:43:54
Zenga, not Zoff.

31 Jul 2026 11:14:13
One club man also. 719 games for Milan, I believe. What a true legend of Italian football.
Thank you for the entertainment, Mr Baresi!

RIP Franco.

31 Jul 2026 11:17:03
The AC Milan side he played in was probably the best in the world from the late 80s through to mid to late 90s. Some of the greatest players represented the I Rossoneri during that period. ?

31 Jul 2026 06:12:10
Just getting the feeling we are dragging our feet with some of these transfer targets. Seems like Leeds are getting in on the act, if you snooze you lose.
Just hope Glasner has some input as our recruitment over the past 12 to 14 months has been nothing but shambolic.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Jul 2026 08:12:33
I'd of worried more if we had lost most of our top players. And that was the biggest problem Glasner had at Palace.

30 Jul 2026 21:11:06
An early so ta bed.
Lot of ya will know it's my way of putting a point over, years now.
Anyway, for me, as soon as a coach/manager f*** knows what they are called these days. Gets hold of the dressing room, they are sacked.

Why, why, why. Do we do it? Or he.
Just frustrating. Not saying he may be best coach. But when you've got 3/4 of dressing room wanting to work for ya. Why get rid. Again my opinion like to hear yours?

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jul 2026 21:26:48
It's never been much different, Bowie.
One side wins it, the rest make the league up, no matter how good.

30 Jul 2026 18:47:56
Why oh why are we messing about signing Read and Diamonde Glasner want both of these players and we are arguing about 3-4 m in add ons! ?

Get the business done now so they have a bullish pres. season.

Agree4 Disagree0

30 Jul 2026 20:29:24
You have read what the reporters have put: that Glasner wants them. Have you heard Glasner say he wants these signings? No. Ive heard him say hes very happy with the players he has. We are not going to just give extra money away, because they know we have money. Were not Man City, simples.

31 Jul 2026 04:33:38
Ok, Skeg.
Of course, Glasner is going to say positive things about the team.
At present, the team finished 16th last season with Anderson.
If we didn't get any players other than Schlager, where would we finish this season?
Every season, Forest dither with transfers.

We can open the purse strings for a £17 million pound player to be shipped to Greece. That's ok with Marinakis, though!

31 Jul 2026 06:55:46
We finished 16th because we had Europe and not a big, classy squad to deal with it. Our best 11 last season, without Europe, would have been a top 8.

31 Jul 2026 09:29:52
Top 8!
You're having a laugh!
Too much Stella I'd say has made you exceptionally delusional. ??

31 Jul 2026 10:02:49
As I said top 8. ?

31 Jul 2026 10:06:29
We finished 9 points behind Brighton, who finished 8th, who had played a lot fewer games than us through the season. Not rocket science. Europe cost us in the league. Ripley, maybe you need to lay off the Ribena pal. ?

31 Jul 2026 11:01:20
Think Ange cost us a lot of points, our biggest mistake last season.

30 Jul 2026 17:15:15
UEFA have voted unanimously to boycott All FIFA competitions if this new plan goes ahead. They have said No European women's teams will enter the World Cup next year!

Well done UEFA ?. Now stick to that decision!
