I'm just going to put this out there to see what my fellow-Reds think:

I would love to see Big M changing-tack and employing a young, hungry British Manager/Coach from the lower-leagues who gets his teams playing attractive, counter attacking football. Historically - the Forest Way. A pipe dream with our current owner? Probably.

However, just imagine it for a minute - as it has happened at Forest before! Big M has a 'rebel streak' in him alongside his massive ego. Imagine someone whispering in his ear that if he was to do the above, with the new Manager/Coach inheriting quality players and making a massive success of his appointment - that would make Big M look like an inspirational Owner and trailblazer within the PL. He'd revel in that.

Like many of you I'm bored with our style of football atm (which contradicts the Forest ethos) and the constant churn of Managers/Coaches who frankly don't give a s*** about our great club. I'm also concerned that we seem to have lost our identity, Are we all happy to be perceived this season as the club playing boring football and hoping to cling onto PL survival? I'm certainly not.

I've come to the conclusion that radical change is needed at Forest soon before the Trent becomes blocked with season tickets that have been cast away.

I like the way you're thinking Legolas, but a young manager from the lower league wouldn't have the experience to handle the enormous egos of a premier league player, they'd s. t all over him. There's been too many managers gone that way, the cowiey brothers and the leather jacket chap Gareth Ainsworth I think his name was and the never got to the prem.

21 Sep 2026 21:45:01
Xavi is who we should sign. He knows how to handle big egos.

21 Sep 2026 22:01:09
I know that I'm a bit of a dreamer Vale. I make no apologies for that. Dreaming of better things got me from a hospital bed to climbing a mountain. All I'm saying is that today's dreams are tomorrow's reality. That goes as equally in our individual lives to being long-suffering Red supporters! Things need to change at Forest. Quickly.

21 Sep 2026 22:42:00
Oh I agree with you things must change, just not sure how Mr M and the coach will go about it. There's no doubt that Glasner is a good manager just his style isn't the Forest way, no point in having a wide pitch if he doesn't use it.

22 Sep 2026 04:20:40
Legolas, Franks, Potter given a chance at a "top team" all failed even McKenna at Ipswich brought them through the divisions failed in the Premier, I think it's down to a lot of players think about there futures, not the team they happen to be playing for this year, getting the right coach and players buying into there tactics is the alchemy all teams want, and the reason so many coaches lose there jobs before a season is over!.

22 Sep 2026 08:53:56
End of the day it's all about money. Owners see the golden goose and HAVE to have it. What owners should do is find a coach that suits the players the club have.

22 Sep 2026 10:34:06
Good post Lego and food for thought mate.
I'm glad Carrick has a chance at Man Utd. Eddie Howe was highly successful at Bournemouth considering the resources he had available. Played good football too. Won a trophy at Newcastle and was moderately successful. Had long tenures at both clubs, a luxury denied to Forest under Mr M.

Time to work his magic.
Carrick at Man Utd looks interesting but inherits a load of problems to start with.
Mossy, Franks is Danish. But Potter and McKenna failed in the big time for wildly different reasons.

21 Sep 2026 13:53:47
It's starting to feel like Ange mk. 2.
The owner is not known for his patience(neither are the fans). One dimensional football and a system that is used regardless of the strengths of the personnel at his disposal.
Hard to watch and more difficult to understand. I would suggest that without an upturn in form and results
OG is already on a slippery slope.

Confusing team selection and absolutely no pace, creativity or guile.
It looks like it's going to be another long, arduous season with probably another management change along the way.
I do hope that I am wrong ?.

21 Sep 2026 15:40:17
My over riding concern is for stability above all Fingers mate. I really hope Glasner pulls it together and gets us moving forward.
We have to deal with the situation as it is, not what we'd like it to be.
But the more I think about it, the sacking of VP when he had everything going for him was like a ref awarding us a penalty and us saying " you know what ref, forget the penalty, we'll take a corner instead " ??
Personally I hope Mr M has VP on speed dial just as a Plan B.

Despite the shocking manner of his sacking, VP is quite a pragmatic bloke and may consider a return.
After all, he was sacked by our owner just after winning the Greek League and Cup double.

21 Sep 2026 15:54:52
Again vp has coached about 10 clubs usually lasts a season in most of his roles always seems to start well then gets sacked because hes not consistent enough. Need to get over the past managers and what could of been cause we will never know simples.

21 Sep 2026 16:31:27
Not true I'm afraid Skeggs. Check it out mate.

21 Sep 2026 16:45:07
Yes i under exaggerated 19 teams lasting mostly a season ???.

21 Sep 2026 17:22:18
Anybody can do a Google check Skeggs but you need to delve much deeper mate. He's mostly been sacked because, beneath that genial exterior he has quite a spiky personality and falls out with owners. A bit like Cloughie in that regard.
It's not lack of consistency. Indeed he almost invariably leaves the club in a much better position than he found it, with trophies in many cases.
He's an ambitious manager and the vast majority of those 19 clubs are Micky Mouse outfits ( again perhaps like Cloughie at Hartlepool).

Learning his trade.
So, it's just a false assertion that he starts well but has no consistency. His sacking by Mr M ( twice) is more typical. Did a great job at both Olympiakos and Forest and still got the push.
So, I'm afraid you've added 2 and 2 and made 5 my friend.

21 Sep 2026 18:42:12
No mate after your chapter and verse he still did 19 clubs in a season I know you like your facts from Google so I gave them to you fact ?.

21 Sep 2026 18:45:51
19 clubs about a season each.

21 Sep 2026 19:11:56
Skegs agreed, vitor was never a long term appointment, and anyway the big man always wanted glasner, he had the chance to get him and took it, can't believe the panic, I would have liked one or 2 more through the door in the window, but we are, where we are, marinakis won't sack this bloke,

21 Sep 2026 19:20:08
It seems you are reiterating your previous stance, Skeggs. Do you still support OG? OG is not a savior, and his continued unwillingness to consider different strategies could result in his failure. Although he requires time, Marinakis is always quick to make decisions, regardless of whether they are correct.

VP got us scoring and let's say it for what it is Marinakis f'ed up.
The irony is if OG gets the push, he will be £13 million richer.

21 Sep 2026 19:59:54
You've said it all, stevie no need to add to that. and yes a couple of more signings but maybe Mr M. has had to save a few quid for ffp or towards the building on our ground. who knows but he did get the players glasner asked for.

21 Sep 2026 20:40:39
By the way schlager glasner asked for on a free. dont tell me he knows nothing about football anyone on here got a bad word to say about schlager just asking ?.

21 Sep 2026 20:42:27
Skeggs, you clearly haven't read or understood my post. I'll try and explain it as simply as I can for you.
We are both agreed VP has ( in theory ) managed 19 clubs. Are you with me so far?

3 of those are Academy juniors
1 ( Porto) assistant manager
7 are obscure, like I said, as per Clough learning his trade at Hartlepool. So, heard of Sanjoanese, Espinho, Santa Clara, Al Ahli, Shanghai, Al Shabab,.? No, me neither. How about the German equivalent of Port Vale ie 1860 Munich ?
The only " serious” clubs are Porto ( 3 year stint, successful)
Olympiakos ( 1 year stint, successful).

Fenerbache ( 2 years successful) etc.
Wolves we know about. Saved them then sacked when they sold his best players
Forest ( successful but sacked on the whim of the owner).
So, your contention that he " starts well then gets sacked because he's not consistent enough” is demonstrably wrong and wildly inaccurate

Steve, you miss my point mate. I agree that with an 18 month contract VP was not a long term appointment. In fact, he did 4 months work during which he was brilliant and merited being kept on. So, again, he wasn't sacked because he lacked consistency. He was sacked because the owner was inconsistent and chose to have 5 managers a year and made, in my opinion, one of a long series of poor judgement calls.

Hope that's cleared things up mate?

22 Sep 2026 12:20:09
Skeggs I have to agree with you about Schlager mate. I said on an earlier post., he looks like the bargain of the season so far. A very intelligent footballer, good vision, great ball winner and gets the team moving when he won it. Gets through a load of work too, every game.

20 Sep 2026 21:23:00
Evening Duty Ed. I'm sorry to trouble you, but can you please publish my post from yesterday evening about the game? It seems to have been missed. Many thanks.

{Ed033's Note - 4 x posts were posted to the Match Posts page on 19th Sep. One was yours. The question is whether the amount of posts on this site warrants another page for posts to be placed on?

Well I've had enough of this Glasner tripe already. Glasner ain't no messiah, his Palace side finished one point and one place above a struggling Forest side who only picked up when Vitor took over the reins. Enough of this three at the back and wing back nonsense, it ain't working! And why oh why keep on playing the Swiss pretender Ndoye in front of Jesus? The tempo up front shifts up a gear when Igor replaces him! Shocking, boring, unentertaining tripe served up by an Austrian gooch! Says it all when we get done at home by the whipping boys who had zero goals and zero points til they played us.

Massive shock, not! I for one am definitely not living no Glasner dream! And i still don't like his smarmy face and hairstyle the whispering idiot.

Agree3 Disagree0

21 Sep 2026 07:35:23
My Mrs is well pleased with the way Forest are playing, because I've told her I'm not watching them again until the wing backs system is gone for good. But as a caveat to that, Ndoye has to be dropped altogether, with Jesus or CHO brought it!
Sky Sports already cancelled, can't watch that crap again!
Next game Palace away I believe, oh dear, another slap in the face for OG.

Forest till I die, but coffin lid is sliding on for this season!

21 Sep 2026 08:19:21

Yes my Sky sports is going, will listen on the radio in future easy to turn off and do other things Forest have lost their way last season started it all the changes have destroyed the confidence of the players and Fan base. We are a shadow of the club I knew OG will go the same has the others and you will all be on rinse and repeat again!!. The new set has left us open to the long ball so we will more goals like the Coventry one and no wingers WHAT THE F*** IS THAT ALL ABOUT. Enjoy the ride lads, ??

21 Sep 2026 09:51:42

We have the england games to look forward to now.if you think glasners football is boring .watch turtles shower of s**** ? good job got new series to watch the cleaning lady.?

21 Sep 2026 10:43:52
We have an owner who given a 50/50 choice on a football decision will always pick the wrong one, always! I don't know if Glasner will work out but Mr Marinnakis will always pull the trigger sooner than later, god forbid we had some stability for one season.

21 Sep 2026 10:31:04
No thanks can't stand Toot Toot Tootall Brexit him back to Europe don't think he's wanted there he's a 1 season wonder ??? bit ike OG in who we trust AT THE MOMENT ???.

21 Sep 2026 11:29:28
Good posts Mossy and Perko.
I really hope I'm wrong about OG. I am obliged to always support the incumbent Forest manager. But, sometimes, I feel like the Biblical Jeremiah, the prophet derided in his own land for his visions of doom. ( which did in fact come to pass).
I've said the many times on here ( and elsewhere) that I suspect OG only became available when he'd burnt his bridges with Palace and missed out on the top jobs at Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea.
Contrary to the myths on here, though he's undoubtedly a good manager, he's no Messiah as you say. VP has actually won more trophies than him. When VP was sacked Forests form, extrapolated over the season would have put them in the top six. His goals for and against in the top 4, second only to Man City.

The players and fans were happy and the football great to watch. All without a pre season or a transfer window, unlike OG.
I wasn't impressed by Palace when I saw them under OG at the WFCG when they were outplayed by our ten men for the majority of the game after Nicos brain fade.
Let's not even mention the Macclesfield Cup debacle eh?
OG won't change his system even though it makes our wingers ( such as CHO) redundant. We were scoring for fun under VP, now we haven't scored at all at home in 4 games, League and Cup. Certain people are on here seem to be over the moon because we beat a Villa team which is "in transition " ie missing its 5 top players.
As I said, I really hope I'm wrong.

21 Sep 2026 13:11:57
Great post Stokie.??.

21 Sep 2026 14:25:18
I appreciate your posts Stokey, however in life we can have no ‘if only'. You cannot go back. OG will be with us I believe till the end of the season and I hope beyond. This club needs stability in large doses if it is to start to move forward. Managers of our esteemed club have not done well following their dismissal. OG may have aimed higher and is potential wage packet may have turned his eye.

He is young manager who will have aims that he does not want dashed by an under achieving team of his. He will want success. Until the Coventry debacle, OG was beginning to turn a few heads on this site. He had faith to come here as he liked what he saw. So let's be patient and see what happens against his old club.

21 Sep 2026 15:24:36
Thanks Stokey?, Agree about Vitor getting the sack, everything was looking alright, players seemed happy and no discontent in the supporters, may have been a bit of spite on Mr Marinnakis part after Vitor left Olympiacos on his terms?. Mr Marinnakis may be having big headaches in his business outside of football, and at this time Forest are taking a back seat in his thinking, that's could be the reason we paid 50 mil for DeLap(could be great?) and Brighton brought Kostolas for 29mil and is producing man of the match performances for them, can't be Mr Marinnakis was thinking right to sanction that move.

21 Sep 2026 15:49:51
I entirely agree Nuno about stability above all things and I really hope Glasner turns it around.
The real problem is our owner. Whilst he puts the money, passion and ambition into the club, his Darth Vader management and recruitment style stops us from achieving. 5 managers in one year is abysmal and doomed, ultimately, to failure.

21 Sep 2026 04:28:03
So a three week international break
?, gives Glasner a chance to watch videos of the players he's got not the players he would like them to be,something Mr Marinnakis does listens to is the supporters, if they start to go against a coach he gets rid, that's why we went though more coaches than Skills!, we are the laughing stock of the Premier concerning changing managers we have to give Glasner a proper chance, the Premier is a marathon not a sprint, at the season's end this could be a bad blip in form hopefully.

We never had any form this season to begin with mate.

21 Sep 2026 10:09:03
I would say the record of not scoring at home since planes was invented is form of sorts?.

20 Sep 2026 18:41:24
Early so ta bed, I swear I'm totally lost and disheartened by the forest game. And owner, manager/coach players. For me football reds again such a simple game. Noticed the highlighted thoughts of A1 on news none stop lately. For me it wouldn't be more obvious than some kinda fix on football than the legendary taylor/ clough.

But I don't have to explain any of that ta you all. Reason I did, is some posters tell me to stop living in the past with my,I dunno get your head outta the past. Well you know what,I'd rather pay half the price now for pleasure than this sh1te. Luv ya all remember, never take them around ya for granted xc FTID.

Bowie, do you remember the comedy series " The Likely Lads” starring James Bolam and Rodney Bewes, filmed up your way mate.
The lyrics and tune of the series theme song has stayed forever in my head from watching but as a kid.

" Oh, what happened to you?
Whatever happened to me?
What became of the people
We used to be?
Tomorrows nearly over
Today went by so fast
The only thing to look forward to ?
The past”.

20 Sep 2026 22:21:48
Skeggs here's one for you mate.
Forest 3 Leeds Utd 1
Liverpool 0 Forest 3
Forest 3 Spurs 0

What was the common denominator in these corresponding results from last season ?
Take your time.

20 Sep 2026 22:37:41
You ok stokie pal i was just having a bit of banter with my pal. the geordie. I cant remember mentioning you in it hope you ok mate you sound a bit wound up.

21 Sep 2026 08:43:29
Keep your hair on Skeggs, just a bit of a mini pub quiz to keep the old grey matter ticking over mate.?
Sorry, I didn't realise it was a private conversation.?.

21 Sep 2026 08:46:28
Brilliant series stokey bud ? remember my old man while working on the shipyards as they were filming saying one of his mates was gonna knock bolam out for being pretentious ?.

21 Sep 2026 12:36:10
Bowie, I still watch the Likely Lads but what I would like to know is at the end there's kids playing around a derelict building, they would have been around my age at that time, today does a sixty plus person come into a pub/ supermarket and someone nudged you and says" Ah he was one of the kids at the end of The Likely Lads", really curious, and is the new housing estate what Bob moves into still standing?.

21 Sep 2026 16:08:54
There were always rumours that Bolam was a difficult man to work with and he fell out big time with Bewes.
I saw Rodney Bewes on stage at the Nottingham Playhouse many years ago, I believe in a John Godber comedy but I can't remember which one. I don't think he did much TV after the Likely Lads.
The episode I remember mostly was were they couldn't get tickets to see Newcastle Utd and spent the entire programme avoiding knowing the score so they could watch it on MOTD later.

The avoidance went to the extent of hurrying past the TV shop in case it was on and giving a fiver to a friend they met unexpectedly who began to tell them something about the game but to cut him off via the bribe.
The denouement was revealed at the end. The match had been abandoned due to heavy fog on the Tyne, which is what the bribed friend had been trying to tell them.
Things were much gentler back in those days.

22 Sep 2026 03:34:03
It was England v Bulgaria result and they was trying to hide from the brilliant Brian Glover who they had a bet with that they wouldn't find out the result before the match.

20 Sep 2026 18:22:03
Rogie,
Just spotted your Crowded House post mate. Very good but as far as the Reds managerial turn over is concerned it's like " Four seasons in One Day”. But " Don't believe it's over”.
Both of us should stop listening to Tony Blackburn
