Who is Simon Ireland. Taking over the team till new manager appointed.
In other words the ex Fulham guy!

1.) 11 Jan 2019 10:05:38
Came in just after AK. He was the academy manager at QPR, touted as a upcoming good young (46) coach. Played for Huddersfield, Blackburn and Mansfield.

18 Feb 2018 13:12:54
I know its not fashionable at the moment, but the only answer to getting goals is TWO UP FRONT!

We can't expect any loan striker with poor service to score goals.

Would like to know what Murphy, Vellios and Brereton think. I wonder if AK has thought of asking them.

C'mon AK, fortune is only allied to the brave, try this against Reading, they won't be expecting it.

1.) 18 Feb 2018 13:57:04
Totally agree humourist. Won't happen though.

2.) 18 Feb 2018 15:31:10
We are only fans what do we know about football .
Looks like 2 up front is our current and last managers plan C .
In most businesses the customer is always right but the mugs like us go whatever fare is on offer gets these so called managers thinking how clever they are ,till they get the sack!

3.) 18 Feb 2018 15:34:42
It will happen when all players are fit and we have a defence and midfield that can defend together.

4.) 19 Feb 2018 09:18:24
In the modern game, you don't just hire a manager, you hire his ethos. Every modern manager has a way he thinks football is played successfully and they very rarely divert from that. We just need to hope we stay in the division and AK can properly implement what he's trying to do over the summer.

5.) 20 Feb 2018 13:01:49
Have a read about his time at Boro, seems there were lots of falling outs with the Board ,players and fans ,lots of boring stuff played ,yes he eventually got them promoted but it soon fell apart.
Seems similar to when Caldwood was at Forest and that wasn,t a good era .
Did the Greeks do their homework on him?

6.) 23 Feb 2018 11:04:48
I think he was unlucky at Boro they were struggling to adapt to the premier league, like most championship sides will do. When he left I think boro only picked up 4 more points from rest of the season, so him leaving sealed there fate.

He is good at getting his teams consistent, which is the first thing we need at Forest, give him time to get the team balanced and consistent then hopefully play some good football as there confidence grows.

A draw at QPR and a win vs brum, will do fine.

10.30pm last night Marinakis and Kominakis get the OK to buy the club.

1.) 18 May 2017 13:34:19
10.30 last night eh? Yet still no official announcement and according to Companies House still in the hands of the current owners.

2.) 18 May 2017 17:09:24
Deal complete. It will take a few days for Companies House to update the filing records.

11 May 2017 17:38:46
Hope I am wrong but I do not like the length of time it is taking for Marinakis to take over at Forest.

It was supposed to be 99 per cent certain to happen a week ago.
The longer it goes the more I am concerned but not as much as Fawaz who, if I was in his shoes would almost be saying "when am I going to get my money? ".

1.) 11 May 2017 18:02:09
Fawaz only has himself to blame, but the football authorities are probably relishing draging their heels, possibly messing things up for us.

Will it be a Portuguese pre-season tour yet again, or Skegness if Fawaz is still in charge.

2.) 11 May 2017 18:52:15
Further to my post on Marinakis. I know the EFL have got to be sure who they are letting loose on us because of the record of foreigners owning our clubs and fouling up but in his case he runs a successful football club. He is not a total stranger to the game which is more than I can say about some owners. So what's the hold up?

3.) 11 May 2017 20:00:28
Based on the Cellino saga the EFL will have no grounds to refuse him completing the deal. He has pre-empted a re-run of Leeds by doing a 50:50 deal with his buddy so when Greek politics go after him again and bring charges he can step down from being a director but maintain his shareholding.

Not an ideal start to new life but when Newcastle West Ham Liverpool ManU et al are all being investigated over irregularities is he going to be any worse than any other owner running a big football club?

We have already had our fair share of dubious owners but life goes on!

04 May 2017 16:33:14
There's a rumour afoot that Warbo will leave with 2 and half years to go on his contract if we are relegated.
Any one else heard this?
Personally I don't believe it or why would he have come in the first place knowing that there was always a risk of this especially as he was out of time to sign any new players.

1.) 04 May 2017 16:44:30
Daily mail and a couple of other papers say he could walk if mcparland doesn't stay.

2.) 04 May 2017 16:58:08
Would anyone be bothered?

3.) 04 May 2017 17:09:21
cause we really need to swap managers again right?

I'm sure we will stay up and then he can sort the team as he wants to with a proper pre season as well.

4.) 04 May 2017 17:13:30

That is exactly the reason, and attitude that has put us in the mess we are in, nobody has the patience to stick with a manager long enough to see what he can do.

Some fans scream out for a managers head after a couple of losses, or bad performances. When the owner listens, and sacks him the stupid merry-go-round starts all over again.

The only sacking i have agreed with after only a short spell is Mcleish, he was a walking disaster.

5.) 04 May 2017 17:22:35

Well said.

6.) 04 May 2017 21:31:09
Is he signing an extension before leaving then as he only has 2 years left on his deal?

7.) 04 May 2017 22:38:26
2018 only one year.

8.) 04 May 2017 23:52:49
Didn, t Mcleish walk?

9.) 05 May 2017 06:07:35
Tomorrow where have I called for his head? all I said was would anyone be bothered! that's not asking for him to be sacked nor have I gone on about sacking him. i just wouldn't be that bothered if he was sacked especially if it was HIM who wanted out as that would show that he isn't up for the fight himself! if the manager is willing to walk if his mate doesn't stay how can he get the players to believe in what he says?

10.) 05 May 2017 08:05:11

You are taking what was reported out of context, he did not say i'm off if my mate does not keep his job.

What he said was, in order for me to stay i want the club to be structured in the right way, it just so happens that his mate is quite good at one of those positions which that structure contains.

Was there not a manager, or two that refused to join us for the very same reason, at least Warburton was willing to gamble on not having a relegation on his CV by joining us.

Warburton's stance on the matter, whether we get relegated or not shows he wants to work in a professional environment, and that he is loyal to those who he trusts.

I would say that is a perfect example to the players, that have to be be professional, and trust everyone that thay are with, not just in the team, but the squad.

Warburton has a lot of baggage, but for the present he is our manager and we should be bothered whether or not he stays. The fact you are not bothered shows, and intimates that you would like him either sacked, or to walk.

He may not be the best manager out there, but in our situation i feel he is the best we can expect. It is about time both we the fans, and whoever owns the club stuck by mangers longer than five minutes.

11.) 05 May 2017 09:08:39
What makes you think Warburton has "a lot of baggage"?

12.) 05 May 2017 09:44:56

All that bread needs bags to hold it.

13.) 05 May 2017 10:26:06
Nice one. We are all toast come Sunday afternoon if the strikers don't baguette it?

14.) 05 May 2017 20:20:31
We will be the laughing stock of the yeast midlands thag for sure!

15.) 05 May 2017 20:47:55
Especially when the dough collapses.

Right we've all played the blame game but has anyone analysed what has happened since this enforced break due to the virus.

Teams that seem to have benefitted; Leeds, Swansea, Cardiff, Millwall, Wigan, Barnsley and Luton.

Teams with an adverse reaction; Forest, Brentford, Derby, Birmingham and Hull (who suddenly went into free fall) West Brom although promoted could'nt get a win.

I am not saying the virus is purely to blame but the break plus empty stadiums has had its effect.
Now some of you will say its the same for all the teams, and I would agree with you, but, some have reacted in a positive way and others in a negative way.

1.) 25 Jul 2020 11:36:03
We got found out, that's all.

2.) 25 Jul 2020 17:09:45
It’s nothing to do with the virus 19. Thankfully the thing it has ensure was the milwall horror show was the last time we had to endure Lamouchi’s awful football.

3.) 25 Jul 2020 17:25:47
So it's all China's fault we didn't go up. That'll do for me. Sue em for £100 million.

25 Jul 2020 08:37:38
Why have Forest resorted to advancing into the opposition's half then passing it back, sometimes as far as the goalie then passing across the field before advancing again.
We've seen this before, can't remember whether it was Warburton or Freedman had us playing keep ball for safety.

It does'nt work, the opposition just sit back and wait for you coming.
Its also boring to watch.
Attack, attack, attack. When you have players like Cash they can put teams to the sword.

Come on Sabri you were much more adventurous in the first half of the season.

We fans like a winning team (who doe'nt) but we also want to be entertained.

1.) 25 Jul 2020 11:57:09
Couldnt agree more. 👍.

2.) 25 Jul 2020 14:35:49
as mentioned before we haven't got the players who are comfortable on the ball to receive it in tight spots and turn/ create a space therefore the safe option is to pass back. It ain't the manager telling them to do it its the players lack of ability/ confidence.

We need two good midfielders that are comfortable on receiving/ passing the ball, this will create the opportunities for attack.

3.) 26 Jul 2020 11:05:02
Yes TE, and also ones who can run, tackle and shoot - basic requirements for a midfield player.

01 Feb 2020 14:04:20
Samba Sow not in first 18. Looks like injury but not know to what extent yet.

1.) 01 Feb 2020 14:38:21
Worry about Yates. Always gets past far too easy, he's too slow and always has a red card in him. He needs to follow in Woralls footsteps and go out on loan to get some consistent game time.

05 Jan 2020 14:33:57
Well that's it for me! when a player points to where he wants the ball played and duly gets it. Brought down, penalty, no dispute on this but VAR says his elbow is OFF SIDE because Alex Mighten pointed to Albert A where he wanted the pass.

As a Forest suppoerter since 1950 I have never known anything like this. No wonder there are so many complaints against VAR in the press.

Think I'll stick to horse racing.

I am not on a witch hunt here but our once wonderful defence seems to have gone to pot since Michael Dawson returned to it.
Now I admire him as a player and a captain but something is afoot here.
A happy bunch of players were getting results, now they are not, so, monsieur where have we gone wrong?

1.) 14 Dec 2019 20:33:42
Hold on what about are goalie did he not let 4 goals in maybe not is fault what about carvahlo 13 million pound player greatest player we have ever bought what about grabbon best striker in championship lol what about fans 🙄.

But surely 79 if you held the purse strings would you build a new stand when we've failed to get to the premier league?

We must get quality players in first and get to the prem then spend money on the ground same as Watford. Although they look like going down at least they've got the ground if they cab get a quick return.

Red hot red I stated on banter site that this wonderful defence has gone to the dogs since Dawson returned. I'm afraid the old one's are being found out the same as our 36 year old centre forward was.

We need strength and speed at this level. Thank goodness its happening now so Sabri can do something about it in January.
Also I have never seen such an unhappy bunch of players even before the game started, completely opposite to about 2 months ago.

You are joking Ff79. Barcelona is no where near Alicante. Its even over a 4 hour train ride. He should have flown to Alicante.

Gazzared when I read that we were interested in Benfica goalkeeper at 13 million I thought 'has the world gone mad'
For goodness sake we've only just signed Pantillimon.

I agree with you , we have 5 goalkeepers now.
I therefore conclude that its just a load of media rubbish again as any player that appears available AK wants to sign them.

AK must laugh his socks off when he reads the'Forest must sign these players'columns.
However I tend to be more serious about what does not appear to have been picked up on.

Whats happened to the Peterborough pair have they disappeared off the face of the earth ?

Possibly right Skegs for although Heckingbottom appeared to be favourite, after yesterdays result it would appear that no official approach has yet been made

Olympiakos football ground is in Piraeus which is almost a suburb of Athens.
Very easy to find and all the fans round there follow Forest too.

I could not agree more skegsjay. He has the best record for Forest this century but so many people are anti that they don't want to know the facts. BD needed money for players from two chairman both in January. He did'nt get it and we missed out in play offs. He then gets sacked after defeat 5-0 to Derby when we had 10 players injured which shows total lack of understanding by the owner (in this case Fawaz)

I get your point Ff799 but when a player sees foul after foul going unpunished he sees Red. They are only human and have blood coursing through their veins.
I lose my rag when I see injustices repeatedly going unpunished and some players go out of their way to intimidate and sometimes surround the ref demanding a yellow or a red.
I know of a premier league team that used to do this regularly, no names mentioned, but its no secret.

Could'nt agree more Redexile but would like to add that bringing on Osborn also added to the improvement especially playing him further upfield. He's got the energy needed late on in a game when others are flagging (particularly the opposition defence)
Hope on Wednesday AK leaves the full backs alone but let's Osborn take Geddy or Watsons place.
