Well, I made the effort and watched the game. I now wish that I hadn't. Boring, non-committal football. I'd love to see the stats comparing England's forward passing vs their backwards/sideways passing.

What a waste of an opportunity to showcase English talent.

2

24 Jun 2026 08:06:45
Just shows you there's not much talent to showcase in the first place, Lego. Pep has killed the game stone dead with the introduction of sideways, backwards & back to the goalie from the halfway line. I still haven't watched one second of it yet, and I'm pretty sure I won't.
Roll on August & proper football.

Complete garbage from England.
Not worth watching.

And you've only just worked that out, dtp. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Can I change my user name? From redram. Born in Derby the wrong end of the A52 Forest through and through, now live in Spain. Any recommendations for a new monicker?

How about Carnero Rojo.

23 Jun 2026 22:39:02
FabrizioChorizo. 🌳

23 Jun 2026 17:29:44
Come on you Three Lions. πŸ‘πŸŒ³

1

23 Jun 2026 20:46:34
I just had a little cry watching Ando's prematch interview with Kelly Sommers. Fantastic young man. Your mum would be so proud. 🌳

2

23 Jun 2026 21:14:19
Looks like Hughton is still at Ghana.

1

23 Jun 2026 21:20:08
Is it me?
Or is Anderson not getting the ball when he demands it?

4

23 Jun 2026 21:32:25
Don't know why they start Gordon, useless. Obviously, I hope he proves me wrong.

1

23 Jun 2026 21:36:41
Same as last week, swap the two wide lads at half-time, because this pair have no end product. 🌳

1

23 Jun 2026 21:45:24
Where's 'Blackboard Betty' when you need her? 🀣

1

23 Jun 2026 22:44:28
Take it back watching England. Horrible.

1

23 Jun 2026 23:00:11
Back to watching paint dry because we canny break down a stubborn, deep, defence. 🌳

4

23 Jun 2026 23:01:06
Huffed and puffed, mate.

2

23 Jun 2026 23:03:44
So do I, Bowie.
That was utter garbage.
One word sums it up for me.... Lazy.

2

23 Jun 2026 23:24:38
Poor tactics, if there were any.
Gordon and Maduke aren't good enough.
Bellingham, Rice and Anderson say no goals from midfield.
Kabe hardly got a kick because of them.
Rethink needed from their Tommy.

2

23 Jun 2026 13:38:40
Looks like we are in for Bergvall from Spurs and Engels from Celtic for the midfield. With Sangare and Dominguez already at the club, that sounds like a good mix.

1

23 Jun 2026 23:05:11
Trouble is, Cyclist is not one of em good enough to lace Ando's boots.
He will leave a massive hole. Massive.

2

23 Jun 2026 23:36:38
But who was Anderson before he arrived, Gazz?
That's the business we are in, spotting young talent with a sell-on fee, and making us a premier club that stays there.

Honestly, now. I don't think we need much to be pushing for Europe. No European matches distracting, so hopefully players can play most Prem matches.

We have a good coach.

GK: Sels is good. Need a backup if Sels is leaving.

RB: Aina. Need a replacement for Savona if/when he goes.

LB: Williams, Netz.

CB: Murill and Milenkovic rocks, Cuhna is decent and could play back 3. Backup of Abbot, Morato and others could be strengthened.

MF: Will need at least one new MF if Anderson goes.

I think they might sign two.

AM/Wings: MGW and McAtee are decent. Wingers are average for Prem. Expect a winger and AM who can play CF.

Striker: Wood aging. Definitely need a new striker and the AM/CF mentioned above.

Shopping list:

One GK

One RB

One CD if key players don't leave.

One or two MF

Two Wingers?

One AM/CF

One out and out striker

9 players but only two first choice players needed (a striker and MF) but hopefully a top class winger or two.

1

23 Jun 2026 11:40:42
It should say if Gunn is leaving above.

0

23 Jun 2026 12:10:15
The number of signings above will go down if a couple of the signings are players who can play several positions, e.g., able to play wing, number 10 or striker.

22 Jun 2026 11:29:19
My ideal starting 11 v Leeds and formation.

Sels

Cunha
Milenkovic
Murrilo

Williams
Bergvall
Sangare
Netz/ upgrade

MGW
McAtee

Jesus/ upgrade.

Subs Gunn? Hutchinson, Bakwa, Awoniyi, Wood, Aina, Abbott, Morato.

22 Jun 2026 13:03:30
Murillo won't be here, and Mcapee, no thanks, not good enough.

0

22 Jun 2026 13:08:32
When Murillo's out, Skeggs, we struggle, mate... Villa prime example.

3

22 Jun 2026 16:33:58
Skegsjay, Murillo has just signed a new contract! Haha.

1

22 Jun 2026 16:48:52
New contracts don't actually mean anything these days, it probably just includes a bigger release fee and bigger wages. So, therefore, the club and the player gain from a future transaction. 🌳

3

22 Jun 2026 19:32:27
Smwilliams, or whatever. What contract means anything nowadays lol Man Utd bound or Liverpool. Either way, he will be gone come start of season.

0

22 Jun 2026 20:37:43
Skeggs, tell me another CB who's had more goal line clearances, can dribble out from the back, beat 3 or 4 players (see v Palace a couple of years ago).
Can ping a pass.
Shoots from the halfway line, scored a cracker in Europa League, scored v Liverpool, brilliant clearance v United to seal our winner.

Strong, pace to burn.
Mark my words, if he does go, we'll be suspect at the back, oh that's right, we have Morato.
Nuff said.

3

22 Jun 2026 20:52:34
What are you on about, Rogie.im? I'm just saying that a better team will be coming in for him. Lol, and that's a fact.

1

22 Jun 2026 22:50:26
I definitely wouldn't pick upgrade. Never even heard him.

McAtee is guaranteed a good season if Jat thinks he isn't good enough. I base that on his manager picks for the last 10 years.

22 Jun 2026 22:56:13
Looks like Anderson is going.

Don't think Mr M will want another big player going right now. We won't need the money. Albeit Murillo didn't have his best season last year, he can kick on this year. Same goes for MGW. Plenty sniffing round, but will be put off by the price tag, hopefully.

Plus, looking at it from VP's angle, this time last year, after a good start with Wolves, he had his best three players sold.

He won't want to go through that again.

I think Nr M is ambitious for this club, and will want to strengthen.

Murillo will go for good money down the line, no doubt. Would just be surprised if it's now. Only my opinion.

1

23 Jun 2026 05:20:09
What I'm saying is you're implying he isn't good enough?
I'm just saying he is, mate.

1

23 Jun 2026 06:38:19
🀣🀣🀣🀣 Where in this post have I said anything about him not being good enough? Read all my comments in this post again, Rog, and tell me where.

1

23 Jun 2026 14:02:09
Sorry Skeggs, misread your post, mate.
Apologies.

0

23 Jun 2026 15:03:02
No probs, Rogie. I just couldn't work out what you'd seen. Thought you'd been on the Guinness lol.

0

23 Jun 2026 16:16:36
Soon, mate!
Soon!

0

22 Jun 2026 11:18:58
Lucas Bergvall. Anybody? I’d take him for 40m direct Anderson replacement, 3 years younger, already playing international football

Obviously not at Anderson’s standard yet but very similar playing style.

2

22 Jun 2026 11:35:15
I'm not sure why we aren't looking at Curtis Jones, 25, knows the league and is valued at around 35mil by his club. 🌳

2

22 Jun 2026 11:37:55
Know nothing about the bloke till he said he wanted to leave Spurs, obviously their manager didn't think a lot of him as he didn't get much play time, so big gamble at 40 million.

1

22 Jun 2026 11:39:41
P.S. We're probably not even interested. Lazy journalism again. We will be connected to every midfielder that's free at the minute.

2

22 Jun 2026 17:02:54
We'll probably end up with "Curtis" Stiegers...and Matt "Lucas".
🀣🀣🀣🀣

20 Jun 2026 21:41:55
Ze Germans vs Sangare and co is a cracker so far. 🌳

1

21 Jun 2026 17:38:24
Sad end to the game.

1

22 Jun 2026 00:30:30
I was heading to bed and made the mistake of checking the Cape Verde game. This is a classic, no matter the outcome. 🌳

1

20 Jun 2026 20:11:59
Evening Reds. A long way off, but I should be there for the 5th September game against Spurs. I'm planning to be at the TBI around 1pm with McGovern and Stokey. It would be great to meet as many of you as possible there for a beer before the game.

2

20 Jun 2026 21:47:48
I got more chance of turning pink, growing a curly tail, trotters and wings. 5th is Mrs Winters' birthday. 🐷🌳

2

20 Jun 2026 22:27:32
C'mon, Winter. Do it the Cornish way, mate. Give Mrs Winter a good birthday seeing-to first thing, then feed her a pasty for brunch. After that offer to take her to the Forest game, followed by a romantic dinner after the game.

She'll be so mellow that she'll refuse the game and agree to dinner with you at 7.30pm, once she's 'recovered'.

Job done, mate.

3

20 Jun 2026 22:40:16
Nah she deserves better than a day out in the Midlands lol. It's going to be Dublin or Edinburgh, I think. Long weekend, wined and dined, expensive hotel, keep her happy, and I can do anything I want for the rest of the year. πŸ˜‰πŸŒ³

2

20 Jun 2026 23:28:20
Fair play, mate. I've not been, but Mrs Legolas raved about Edinburgh after her recent visit with our daughter.

1

21 Jun 2026 00:52:16
Edinburgh is right up there with the best cities in the world, well worth a long weekend. 🌳

1

21 Jun 2026 07:17:32
Been there, mate...
Both are great, however, Dublin for me, not being biased.
🀭🀭🀭

1

22 Jun 2026 09:20:10
Manchester trumps em both.

Edinburgh (where a lot of my family are from) is beautiful. Dublin is a good laugh. Manchester is just great for the music and love the atmos. London is too crowded.

0

22 Jun 2026 09:56:28
I hate London, as you said, the crowds are too much, and also the scale of the place. I was considering Whitby, but there isn't a whole lot going on down there. Edinburgh is convenient for me, tbh, a couple of hours drive or by train.

Manchester just doesn't appeal to me, and doesn't have the same ring to it. I can imagine her face, 'babe I've booked us a fantastic weekend away in Manchester'. 🀣 🌳

22 Jun 2026 10:12:40
Now i have all these options spinning around in my little head. 🀣🌳

22 Jun 2026 10:47:35
The sort of women I've dated (who love going to gigs) have loved my weekends in Madchester. It's not working so well now I'm middle-aged. Trips to the Med are coming into force at this point.

Funny story: I actually met her in Newquay. We were both at Boardmasters and found her sulking in the chill out area, both disappointed with the music and kids (younger people, 🀣) running around and being rude. Several pints of Cornish Rattler, and more than a decade later, we're still putting up with each other. 🀣 🌳
