If Man City are not handed a commensurate punishment then that will open up an even bigger mess for the PL as those clubs like Forest and Everton will have grounds for counter claims and damages. The crimes, as that is what fraud is, were multi season events and the punishment should be equally meted out so it has to be expulsion from all league football, a 900 million pound fine, stripped of all titles, nothing else is acceptable.
They are a stain on the game! Wonder what Anderson thinks about his move now?
30 Sep 2026 14:39:55
Anderson will be alright financially, but you have to question the advice he got to join man city, he should have stayed at Nottingham Forest for this season.
30 Sep 2026 15:22:36
I'm sure Ando regrets his decision with hindsight but I'd be amazed if he didn't have a buy out clause in his contract. Any top club, here in the UK or abroad would snatch his hand off if the opportunity arose to sign him.
Who could have foreseen this turn of events or the scale and magnitude of it?
30 Sep 2026 15:29:00
As King Lear says.
"Plate sin with gold
And the strong lance of justice hurtles breaks.
Arm it in rags and a Pygmy's straw doth pierce itβ.
Not in Man City's case apparently.
30 Sep 2026 15:35:03
Let the judas. get on with his championship football π.
30 Sep 2026 15:58:33
A question for stokey, how many pocket books did you get through in your time as a police officer?
30 Sep 2026 17:09:39
Vale, i would imagine it will depend on how often they ran out of bog roll at his station. ππ³.
30 Sep 2026 17:11:41
Stokey, You talk about the scale and magnitude of it.
The magnitude of the crime will not be matched by the punishment in my opinion.
They will get off relatively lightly.
Nothing less than league 2 and 5 year transfer ban is acceptable but it won't be anything like that. You just see.
30 Sep 2026 17:49:34
Good question Vale mate
The answer is more than most because I always had a heavy workload and lots of evidence to record.π
RRH, Police Pocket Books had numbered pages and a unique serial number signed out to you by a Sergeant or above. Where individual pages or indeed whole pocket books were missing ( ie on your example of bog paper) it was a sackable disciplinary offence. Were the books contained written evidence for Court cases you could face 10 years for perverting the course of justice,.
At the very least if your PB got eaten by the dog or lost on the washing machine, it was a full General Report as to the circumstances and investigation by C and D ( Complaints and Discipline or Professional Standards as they are now known)
Some serious π©would be hitting the fan.
The used PBs would be kept under lock and key for many years.
But I take your light hearted jests in good spirits my friends ππ.
30 Sep 2026 18:29:43
I hope you are wrong Gazzi. Bear in mind anything at all can be dealt with by way of Judicial Review in HM Courts by HM Judges for reasons of fairness and principles. It doesn't have to be a Sports Court and it can go all the way to the Supreme Court.
Legal principles trump any kangaroo court run by the Premiership or anybody else and their rulings are binding in the UK ( and subject to certain minor matters Europe.
But who knows mate? I never thought ( especially after the Chelsea whitewash) that it would get this far.
30 Sep 2026 18:58:27
So im guessing you'd have to scrunch them up after wiping then? π©π³.
01 Oct 2026 09:58:51
As you seem hell bent on matters scatological RRH I have to tell you that our world class SOCO scientists and cutting edge deciphering kits would not be thwarted whether the pages were scrunched up or buried knee deep in π©mate.
You d basically have to burn them to cinders, so perhaps a red hot curry the night before ?
πππππ₯΅.
01 Oct 2026 10:28:30
That can happen, its similar to the effects of spontaneous human combustion. A mega hot vinaloo the night before, then by the morning it comes out like larva, they call it VPS. Scientists say its often fatal, so waking up with 'Vindapoo Pringles Syndrome' is something that i wouldn't wish on anyone because 'Once you plop, you just can't stop'. π₯π©π₯.

A lot of fun and points scoring put downs of defence barristers at Crown Court could be had via PBs.
For example, it was common practice ( certainly with Junior Barristers, the Senior ones were wise to it and avoided this) to staple down the pages not relating to the court case being heard. An unwary barrister, perhaps keen to impress the jury, would point this out implying some nefarious conduct on the part of the Police and ask why?
The put down answer was "βWrll sir, the pages stapled down relate to private and sensitive matters not for your eyes and not related to this hearing. Of course, if his Homour Judge so and so wishes to see the unrelated pages I'd be happy to oblige. Straight away flatters the Judge, gets him or her on side, pricks the pomposity of the barrister,, shows him and the jury that he's not as important as he thinks he is and says, subtly " I'm not frightened of you mate, even we're on your home turf, a courtroom. Tells the jury also that I'm trustworthy and can be trusted with the private secrets contained in my PB.
Some pro Police Judges ( my own favourite was Judge Matthewman) would even administer a public put down such as " That won't be necessary Officer: I don't allow defence fishing expeditions in my Courtβ or once, to my immense gratification, " Well Mr defence barrister, you fell into that giant elephant trap I'm afraidβ.'
I even caused a defeated Defence barrister to sit down abruptly, mutter " No further questions " and wrap his gown around himself like a petulant child. All in front of a jury.
Mind games. I used to love them and never lost a case
All from a small PB.
01 Oct 2026 17:26:53
RRH mate
Is VPS anything like DDS which a certain poster on here suffers with.? Bearing in mind both produce an unstoppable tsunami of π©?
Just asking.ππ.
01 Oct 2026 17:42:34
π€£, could be, it would make alot sense. π³.

Shamchester City have to be expelled from the football league and start next season in the National League.
Watch their superstars getting off their coach at Scunthorpe next season! ππ
Taxi for Haaland, Fernandez, GuΓ©hi, Anderson and the rest of their overpaid prima Donna's.
30 Sep 2026 10:54:34
Meanwhile on the dark side of the blue moon, Talksport has been really entertaining this morning, White and Jordan ripping em a new one. π³.
30 Sep 2026 11:13:19
It would be great to see that Munmad but the stars will have moved on long before that scenario comes to pass mate.
30 Sep 2026 12:00:08
That's what should happen Munmad but I don't think it will be anywhere near as severe as that.
If it's a points deduction then it will be enough to make sure they don't win the league but not enough to see them relegated.
Despite just about everyone being pleased they have been found guilty, I believe we will all be disappointed with the punishment.
30 Sep 2026 12:42:01
Gazzi, I think all the other Premier League owners will want more than that mate. Mr M will take it to Court if necessary for judicial review if it's a light sentence. He is amongst the most litigious of owners
For us and Everton it was 4 points a breach. That would put Man City hundreds of points adrift.
Also, it's worth bearing in mind that our penalty (and Everton's ) were imposed virtually immediately after being found guilty and before the appeals process ( which later reduced Everton's from 8 points to 6 if I remember correctly and ours was rejected and left at 4 points)
So the same should apply to City.
Any lengthy appeal should be post sentence. Let them battle against the clock.
30 Sep 2026 14:17:45
I think ours was quick because we admitted the crime but City will fight to the last going to the highest Court who will listen, The other clubs should vote for the penalty to come soon they need 15 votes to carry it the league needs stability for this season.
30 Sep 2026 15:30:55
Everton fought it tooth and nail Jester.
But the principle of quick justice should still apply.
30 Sep 2026 17:03:59
City officials have said that they will appeal and it's going to be a long process, well the premier league should suspend them from ALL competitions and games until they sort it out. Any teams affected should be given the three points. They would soon be around the table and take the punishment.
30 Sep 2026 17:05:56
Cheating and fraud on an industrial scale, can't see them being allowed to remain in the Premier league, remember its not just a football club but a global business. I would imagine that all the other clubs within the City Group are now bricking it. π³.
30 Sep 2026 07:22:58
MGW 18 minutes of football, equals 2 caps I think. If he stayed on holiday in Dubai with his Mrs, he might have seen some Man City players trying to terminate their contracts!
It just goes to show how corrupt some people can be, to do this to the biggest league then deny what they've done!
Hopefully they'll realise they're not going to change the outcome, and drop the appeal process.
But I guess money talks, so will they again try to bribe another independent investigation?
The writing was on the wall, which is why Pep G quit when he did - he knew what was coming, as did Rodri!
Cheats MCFC.
30 Sep 2026 09:39:36
Guardiola knew definitely not so Rodri but you would think the players must
have had suspicions a Squad of 30 plus players on a minimum of 200k a week.
30 Sep 2026 10:16:25
What City need is a good lawyer, G. Infantino springs to mind, he could help them set up a Euro Super league, bet they,re already concluding with many British and European counterparts, they could play games all over the world especially USA.
This the likely threat they will subliminally slip into the case.
CARLO.
29 Sep 2026 20:39:38
Turgid England failing to really threaten the 10 Czech men, on a better note, Ndoye causing the Jocks all sorts of problems. π³.
29 Sep 2026 22:39:47
Hope Ndoye comes back in the same form and sets up DeLap for a couple of goals, Cunha played 87 minutes for Brazil in a back four!, and MGW has so far played 18 minutes over two games, I bet he wished he went on that holiday his Mrs booked.
30 Sep 2026 01:52:36
Apparently, Mossy, he was already in Dubai, when called up, that probably equals one p***ed off Mrsπ€£.
01 Oct 2026 09:40:56
RRH, Ndoye would cause national league teams defences all sorts of trouble, EPL a different matter.
29 Sep 2026 07:39:20
{Ed's Note - OptimumShots has posted a new article entitled, What a Fair Punishment for Manchester City Should Look Like
29 Sep 2026 12:27:57
Great read thatπ, although going on the points deductions our sides got for one breach, I'd be inclined to have them expelled from the football league, transfer bans lasting at least five years. I'm not for a European ban, if they win a trophy then fair play, their supporters deserve something out of this mess, after all they are the innocent party in all this.
Obviously financial penalties need applying, with the proceeds going directly and equally to every side they end up playing against. Be that National League, Northern section or wherever they end up and so on as they climb the pyramid. π³.
29 Sep 2026 13:00:25
The Premier league has to own it first the leak has given City an Advantage they are crying they're being unfairly discriminatmed against. Come on Premier league get it sorted.
29 Sep 2026 13:21:54
Any fines should be distributed to the clubs who have lost out. Exceptions should include Chelsea, who have not been punished for their financial irregularities.
29 Sep 2026 13:58:59
Nah the fines should be distributed throughout and down the football pyramid. The Premier League is rich enough. Imagine what a difference a million in the bank of some of the National League North/South sides would make. π³.
29 Sep 2026 17:34:03
At last it's officially released 115 charges now City will delay it for at least a season with appeals so they can win everything this season what a farse this league is π€‘π€‘π€‘.
29 Sep 2026 17:38:02
Arranged sham contracts' with some of its commercial partners to inflate its revenues artificially
Filed accounts which 'concealed the true state of its finances'
'Was significantly in breach of both the Premier League's and UEFA's spending limits'
And committed 'multiple breaches' of co-operating on the Premier League's investigation once it began.
Just the breakdown, crazy.
29 Sep 2026 17:39:52
Oh and the official appeal needs to be in by 2nd October, tick, tock, tick, tock. π³.
29 Sep 2026 17:50:44
To be fair on their accountants, hiding 900 million is a good effort π€£π³.
29 Sep 2026 17:33:53
Read the full Premier League statement on Skysports news footy pageπ€£, they reckon 900 million has been skimmed off Cities book in the last decade. Richard Masters sounds p***ed!. No leniency nowπ€£. π³.
29 Sep 2026 18:00:31
Everything I've cried out for. For seasons. Especially no help in covid to the struggling lower clubs. Makes me vomit.
29 Sep 2026 19:11:36
Bowie, i still can't get my head around the 900 million, you could buy Scotland for that. 900 million!! π³.
29 Sep 2026 19:16:13
What i want to know is A: surely they must also owe HMRC millions? Criminal case?
And B: Fit and proper owners? Make them pay up then give them das boot ya! π³.
29 Sep 2026 20:24:57
You are right about HMRC RRH. They will be having their input definitely.
29 Sep 2026 19:24:25
Also Fraud? π³.
29 Sep 2026 20:30:33
Andy will be rubbing his hands together, government deficit? Not anymoreπ€£π³.
29 Sep 2026 21:11:31
Yes, false accounting mate. Carries 10 years.
29 Sep 2026 21:32:05
Again, goes back to fit and proper ownership. π.
30 Sep 2026 09:14:03
They aren't just breaches of football regulations, some of those are criminal offenses - allegedly.
28 Sep 2026 12:59:26
I watched the England Spain game on catch-up. I don't know where all the predicted boring boring Tuchel came from. A cracking game of football. If we could defend ( O Reilly and Guehi, the Man City duo looked not on it, can't think why) and convert penalties we'd have merited at least a draw against the best team in the World.
29 Sep 2026 09:32:48
Neither team were playing for world cup. this competition might as well be called the friendly cup. anyway onwards and upwards banter night out tonight happy days π.
29 Sep 2026 17:46:57
What's a. "Banter night outβ Skegs? π€π€·ββοΈ.
29 Sep 2026 19:25:19
Wouldn't you like to know Stokeyπ.
29 Sep 2026 19:45:30
Something you would never understand. Its probably like your book club but over 18s π€£π€£.
29 Sep 2026 21:57:50
Actually, on reflection RRH, I probably wouldn't want to know mate. It sounds like something from " Deliverance " but set on the Eaat Coast.
Skegs, looking at your punctuation it's more like under 8s mate.πππ.
29 Sep 2026 22:38:12
Like I said stokie you will never know. stick to your ladybird books π.
29 Sep 2026 20:29:27
I truly wished I hadn't asked.
I'm guessing it's something akin to an East Coast Swamp Dwellers Convention hosted by the local Skegness halfwits. "Deliverance" but much duller.
I've got an unbidden vision of RRH and Skeggs doing the Duelling Banjos bit but with spoons.
30 Sep 2026 09:15:27
It's most likely a bin dippers reunion.
30 Sep 2026 11:17:58
Having forced myself to look at your latest reply Skeggs mate I just hope that you aren't the poster boy for the "Banter Night Outβ site mate. Sounds dire. I suggest you need to up your game a bit.
30 Sep 2026 11:19:07
Dueling banjos π€£, we also swap sisters and cousins for the evening, only swap though! π€£.
30 Sep 2026 12:43:31
I actually met a bloke from Skegness who was his own Father RRH.πππππ.
28 Sep 2026 11:10:48
If you want a complete and detailed account of the legal processes and ramifications of Manchester City's situation (which, by the way, still hasn't been confirmed by the Premier League) have a read of a brilliant article on the BBC Football site by the sports barrister Kieran Maguire.
It tells you all you need to know.
28 Sep 2026 10:20:52
There is considerable excitement in my neck of the woods here in Staffordshire over the prospect of Stoke City being awarded the FA Cup from 2011 in view of the Manchester City debacle.
Tony Pulis has given several interviews ( on the BBC and 2 or 3 newspapers) saying the Potters were cheated, pointing out that the scorer of the only goal at Wembley, Yaya Toure was on 10 times the wages of the highest paid Stoke player and several Man City players individually cost more than the value of their entire squad.
He has, however, publicly eschewed the idea of the FA Cup being handed over from that match, saying the Citizens would probably be dealt with by way of points deduction and heavy fines.
The highest honour Stoke have ever achieved was their 1972 League Cup final win over Chelsea. My wife and her family and friends queued all night and got tickets for that game.
When she and other Stokies boast about it to me, I always point out that we have 4 of them and 2 runners up. Always gets a laugh and sometimes a snarl.πππ
I went to see the brilliant German comedian Henning Wehn at Gawthorne Hall a few years ago. One of his routines was handing out loads of cheap replica World Cups to the audience with the words " Please have one, in Germany we've got loads of them ".ππ.
28 Sep 2026 15:55:36
Suppose the man city QC ( 5 grand an hour) could argue that two years later they lost the FA cup to Wigan and if they cheated they wasn't very good at it!, and it wasn't until Pep showed up they won trophies, and titles from his coaching skill, it's an argumentπ€.
Henning When is one of the few modern comedians who's funny, if you watched Live at the Apollo it's so depressing to see how unfunny they are, started watching channel 81 for Wheel Taappers with Colin Crompton and Bernard Manning, for jokes that are funny.
28 Sep 2026 16:54:21
Wheeltappers was brilliant Mossy mate. Never missed it. π.
28 Sep 2026 18:09:22
Loved Colin Compton. Gormless looking but a very clever man. I used to drink at the BRSA club in Bulwell and the compère and bingo caller was just like him, even with the rotating bell. it was an age of innocence Mossy.
Remember. "Order, best of order.the members at the back are complaining that they can't hear the ventriloquist so could I ask him to hold his dummy nearer the mic.πππβ
"Announcement from the committee.
The meat pies have arrived but put plenty of salt and pepper on them because they've come by themselves.β.
Precursor to the brilliant " Phoenix Nightsβ.
Fabulous.
29 Sep 2026 11:05:53
Watching the acts Stokey, you can see where maybe Peter Kay was coming from with his Phoenix Nights series.
29 Sep 2026 17:49:54
Absolutely Mossy! I'd be interested to know what inspired the brilliant "ping pongβ girl episode. Perhaps the famous ( or infamous) Sticky Vicky?
28 Sep 2026 07:39:11
{Ed's Note - KingCarlos has posted a new article entitled, Manchester City and Alleged Rule Breaches
28 Sep 2026 18:18:03
Brilliant post Carlos. It's a whole can of worms mate opened up and it's effects will reverberate for years to come.
27 Sep 2026 19:35:53
My apologies big time to the eds on here who do more than an amazing job.
I now get where Roy Keane got his prawn sarnie squad from. Seen so many games lately where the wfcg was overpowered by away fans. my opinion live this club apart from obviously my family and jimmy loadsa bellies. FTID, atm I understand the schoolboy football, (get out there and spread out) I just hate the none Forest football, no heart, simple passing, and wingbacks overworked.
Our corners, to set pieces pathetic. And front row that show nothing but. Apart from very odd times look clueless. Told you all and don't give two flyings b4 season started.
Mgw would go to flanks frustrated. Yeah yeah but im right. Only thing Forest have got atm is a half decent defence. Relying on draws anyway again my opinion crack on the lot of ya.
27 Sep 2026 20:53:35
Your just like my old broken record player. But it got fixed over time pal π.
27 Sep 2026 21:28:18
And your like my old cassette tape, I'd press pause everytime you spoke π«’.
27 Sep 2026 22:12:48
And now your my ai ignore π€£π€£ my little geordie pal. living the glasner mr m dreamπ« .
27 Sep 2026 22:22:47
