Slight breeze down here in Cornwall Reds! I'm about to go into the back garden in my wheelchair. As per the Lieutenant Dan scene in Forrest Gump, I'll then be screaming at the sky "do you call this a storm? ".

But with a better coach then we have like you keep trying to tell us
West ham didn't have paqueta, tobido and their two new strikers available against wolves
So glad west ham are sticking with nuno as it guarantees them going down.

Come on Bowie mate, you honestly can't legitimately think he's good for world politics?, now threatening Denmark over Greenland. We better stand by our European allies and if like he's hinting at using military intervention, European countries must come to their aid and stand up to bullying ****. 🌳.
Agree5
06 Jan 2026 07:28:36

Whether you believe or not the Bible can teach us a lot on how to be a decent human being.
I’m not sure about God but I believe Jesus was a person and he preached some life lessons that we could all learn from.
Gnostic teachings say that the Kingdom of Heaven is within YOU (it’s not some higher plain).
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Well he definitely existed Pineapple. His birth and death are recorded ( the Romans kept very detailed records). Tacitus devotes a paragraph to him as a minor public nuisance in Judea and records his punishment of death.
Agree2
24 Dec 2025 18:16:07
The real mystery is why such an obscure nuisance in an unimportant part of the vast Roman Empire would have his beliefs taken on by Constantine, a Roman Emperor 300 years after his crucifixion. Incidentally, if you go to York, by the Minster courtyard is a huge sitting bronze statue of him because he was declared Emperor there whilst in “Britannia” fighting the Picts ( Scots).
He was much travelled, a famous soldier and a true “man of the world”. It’s quite bizarre really and highly unlikely how Christianity became a world religion.
As unlikely as a windswept, cold damp island off the northern coast of Europe should create an even bigger Empire than the Roman one covering a third of the globe and making English a world language….
Agree2
24 Dec 2025 21:13:06

Agree2
22 Dec 2025 23:14:06
And yes Bowie, I spent around a year of my life fighting Demons 5 years ago. I was mentally and physically exhausted afterwards. This will all be published in the book I've just finished when it goes to print - it left me so frail that I contracted a bacteria that, statistically, I was 150 times more likely to be struck down with by lightening in the UK than be infected by that bacteria. My mental health issues over such a long period had screwed my immune system. That led to my sepsis, septic shock and subsequent leg amputations.
Look after your health Reds, both mentally and physically.

This is my favourite funny-memory in the book. The situation still makes me chuckle when I think about it!
On each course I would share a single storey, two bedroom accommodation unit with a chap who was one of the coaches at Team Endeavour Punishers. His name was Paul and he was missing his right arm. Obviously, being involved in the wheelchair rugby world, Paul was affectionately known by the nickname ‘Stumpy’. He and I got on like a house on fire and we would go for a swim together in the pool each day after horse riding. Stumpy and I shared the same sense of humour. I remember the first time we went for a swim we found ourselves unable to get out of the pool afterwards. We ended up getting the giggles during our attempts to help each other out of the water. I still smile when I think about the scene - a guy with no legs trying to push a guy with an arm missing by the backside out of a pool and then Stumpy trying to drag me out of the pool with his one arm. You couldn’t make it up.

Probably not. Again I married an American girl who could come on here and show so much weakness for pensioners/ drowned nhs etc etc etc.
Our fragile labour a joke. Especially immigration. As the WW2 VETERAN SAID WAS IT WORTH IT, and you lot focus on American politics. Please please please. Just focus on your loved ones. Another good post, from the heart as usual Bowie. I do get your frustration on this subject. However the uncomfortable truth is that, under Trump, US 'foreign policy' is affecting the world atm. And not for the better.

This should all be over inside 2 minutes.
Anything over 2 rounds and something is well dodgy.
Can't blame AJ or Eddie Hearn for taking the fight/ money. But can't believe any responsible body has sanctioned the fight. It sets a very low bar. Boxing is a sport. But it is not a game. People can get seriously hurt.

Agree5
18 Dec 2025 16:36:34
TACO has shown himself not to be fit for office on multiple occasions in is first presidency and US Presidents generally operate outside the legal boundaries anyway so it should come as no surprise that someone as insidious as this cretin has got in power.
Putin wouldn't have wanted anyone else to win which is why he helped him in 2016. Someone as weak as Trump is Putin's best chance of winning in Ukraine and we can see that happening.

19 Dec 2025 20:35:21
DTP, the bent cop was taken down along with the Gunns. “Quite a few” is a gross exaggeration.
I2 tone I retired in 2009, so I can’t comment on the fitness or otherwise of Police Officers. I do know that the veterans were forcibly retired to save money leaving a new cadre of inexperienced Officers most with careerist ideas of their own rather than serving the public “without fear or favour “ which was the ethos when I was working.
I think my senior Officers had your back and got the job done instead of playing at politics and wokery. This old school attitude filtered down to the lower ranks I think perhaps in a way that it doesn’t nowadays?

He was the one that took the hit stokey
Takes more than one to get away with what he and his gang did for years
By the way stokey I did a job about three years ago for a operations policeman and he actually said it was easier to police when the gunns ran bestwood,
Since then it becomes a turf war and police got no idea what to do about it.
Agree0
19 Dec 2025 23:33:36
No DTP you are wrong mate. My extremely reliable information is that when the Gunns were taken down they cashed in all their chips with a view to having sentences reduced. They squealed like a stuck pig ( if I dare use that phrase). I knew the lad who was bent and he was a right thicko who got in way over his head and started to believe his own publicity. There were some attendant disciplinary matters for failing to supervise him but nothing criminal.
Your Officer who relied on the Gunns doing his job for him sounds a right idle “uniform carrier” and needs looking at, unless you were taking things out of context.
For example, when I was Hyson Green flats resident beat Officer for 2 years I was told by people that knew that it was the drug dealers who stopped the riots because an influx of Police hampered their operations.
It’s was a bit like the words of Bob Dylan’s song
“Now Joey stepped up and he raised his hand
And said “we are not those kinda men
It’s peace and quiet that we need
To go back to work again “.
Agree1
20 Dec 2025 01:23:03
DTP if that's true we are in the shit.
They were running half of Nottingham and most people knew it.
Should have been collared much earlier before they gave the Police an open goal.
Thats what happens when people keep getting away with stuff, they keep pushing the envelope. Would have saved a few innocent lives.

Jesus gents once again. Just because one of us says or relates to a certain point. Does this make us guilty by rule of law? Or maybe guilty by rule of thumb?, this has nothing to with the original post so please leave the piglet alone😋🫡🌳.

I think in the present day the Gunns would find it difficult to have the power they had, even the Yardies have lost ground, the new dealers are from war torn country's, not forgetting the Albanians!. Two police officers approach a couple of youths at Asda Hyson Green, the youths legged it, one of the officers chased him where he promptly produced a machete and took a couple of swings at the officer, policing today, managing polictians agendas, must be a nightmare, wait till guns will be the norm with the thugs soon!.

Nonsense stokey, if cashing in all your chips gets you a 35 year sentence and a maximum security prison, to see out the rest of your life, then that's not a squealing deal at all is it?

Look who starts it Bowie
Say no more
He says he's a forest fan, but you won't hear from carlo after a superb team performance, because he can't find anything to have a go at about the club?
Lose next week and he'll be back, with a couple of others.
