Just like to say if there are any crowd problems at palace Forest, Steve Parrish should be prosecuted for inciting violence, he's a coward deflecting the blame to cover his own incompetence, palace need to remember they have to visit the city ground in January, just a thought.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Aug 2025 06:17:21
I hope nothing kicks off on Sunday and all Forest stay safe. Because there is a lot of animosity from Palace towards us after they made a horrendous cock up. Not us but them and they blame us for it. If anything happens to Forest fans down at their sh! t tip then they will pay for it 10 fold when they come up here.

21 Aug 2025 09:11:11
It was Textor that had majority ownership not Parish so it was Textor's incompetence not really Parish's.

21 Aug 2025 10:41:48
Yes but Parish was running the show. Should have read his emails and sorted it out. After all this was an administrative error. Textor could should and would have gone in to a blind trust like Marinakis did, if given the nod.

21 Aug 2025 10:55:29
Textor would've known the rules anyway with being owner of Lyon. It's all down to him at the end of the day.

21 Aug 2025 11:58:06
Difference is marinakis did it because Europe was definitely on the cards, Palace obviously didn't expect to win the cup in March and their only way of getting into Europe
So the matter of moving textors shares was probably never discussed.

21 Aug 2025 15:15:03
I bet the Palace fans were all crying into their beers and protesting when Everton and Forest had points deductions even though Man City have broken the rules over 100 times. Weren't they?

No they were not! Screw them!

21 Aug 2025 17:17:25
Exactly Cyclist, i have zero empathy for them.
Bringing blame everyone and everything culture into football rather than admitting their own mistakes. ?.

21 Aug 2025 17:19:38
Also i'm definitely Norwegian tonight.

Come on Fredrikstad Fotballklubb??.

21 Aug 2025 19:03:12
Yes, popcorn out for this one!

Eds, please can we have the Forest chat on for the Crystal Palace v Fredrikstad game at 8pm tonight.

Because, as Bill Shankly said:

"Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that"

Nothing personal, just a popcorn moment. We are the Red Army! ✊.

{Ed033's Note -

Palace v Fredrikstad live chat

21 Aug 2025 20:19:55
Cheers, Ed003. Dunno whether anyone else has noticed, so I might be chatting to myself now. ?.

{Ed033's Note - i also put the live chat link on the banter page

I see Trumps been issued with his latest instructions from his boss. Top of the list " Stand there like the dumb stooge you are and I'll do all the talking ".
I never thought I'd live to see the supposed leader of the Free World roll out the red carpet then stand there and applaud a murderous tyrant as he walked on it off the plane.
Shocking, disgusting ( but at least consistent).

Agree4 Disagree0

16 Aug 2025 16:10:26
Murderous? There is a genocide taking place, and the government doing it is being supplied with weapons by our government. IF you're bothered about human life, these things start at home.

16 Aug 2025 17:22:19
If you’re referring to the Israeli Govt Cyclist 99.9 %their weaponry is in fact supplied by the USA, Germany and Italy. I’m not exaggerating, check it out. We supply things like the windscreen wipers on tanks. Admittedly it’s not for want of trying we just didn’t win
any contracts.
Ironically, the RAF transport aircraft sprayed with paint recently had taken no part whatsoever in the Gaza conflict except the supply of humanitarian aid ( which the Israelis blocked from distribution.

17 Aug 2025 05:03:55
Israel are allowed to commit genocide. It's only a problem if the perpetrator isn't friendly with western nations. Keep up. ??.

17 Aug 2025 07:33:14
If you've been paying attention to the first 6 months of TACO Trumputin's tenure you would've noticed he's a very weak man. If you stroke his ego and tell him that he's wonderful he will let you do anything you want. He's threatened Putin with sanctions on numerous occasions and never followed it through. He's been on and off with the tariffs as well. He's not called TACO for nothing. He likes murderous tyrants like Putin and Netanyahu. He's the most incompetent President you will ever see.

17 Aug 2025 09:52:13
I see sons of the Devil in charge all over the world, to do what they do they must have been born evil.

17 Aug 2025 11:45:56
Supplying a genocide regimen with puncture repair kits for their cycle couriers is complicity in a genocide.

I'm no Trump fan, though. He's an authoritarian and respect other authoritarians. Erdogan, Putin, Netanyahu.

I think they have compramat on Trump, possibly from Epstein who definitely had links to MOSSAD (Israeli intelligence) and may have been on the Russian payroll as well. If true, Trump is a security threat.

17 Aug 2025 13:03:48
TACO Trumputin is only 'trying to stop the war' between Russia and Ukraine to divert attention away from his misdemeanours on Epstein's island with the kiddies and he'll ambush Zelenskyy again when he goes to the Sh! te House. Starmer won't say Israel are committing genocide because he knows we are complicit.

20 Aug 2025 14:27:56
He will be asking for help soon with China over Taiwan UK back up the man's a joke of a leader. He told Iran he was going to bomb them and they moved everything the man's a fool.

20 Aug 2025 17:36:01
Mr Trumpty has threatened to bomb a lot of countries and then backed down just like the tariffs on China and sanctions on Russia and Qatar.

20 Aug 2025 17:37:25
What a coward he is.

21 Aug 2025 16:04:49
Well looks like he’s really frightened Putin.

21 Aug 2025 16:49:55
Scared him that much he's bombed a US factory. TACO won't do a thing about it though as he's petrified of his boss Putin. ??.

11 Aug 2025 16:56:26
Anybody else noticed that all the Liverpool fans booing national anthem gets less media coverage than a few Palace fans booing, which I believe was not for the minutes silence but as a response to the initial booing of the anthem.

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Aug 2025 19:36:41
You know why Cloughie never got a knighthood or the England job, don't you? Because he agreed with the Liverpool fans.

Some people think it's archaic nonsense to have an unelected head of state. That privilege rules in a supposed democracy. Some people don't want to sing to a Monarch.

Anyway, isn't the English National anthem Jerusalem?

11 Aug 2025 21:29:04
I don't think England has got an official anthem. No anthem with 'God' in it should be the national anthem of England or the UK.

11 Aug 2025 21:49:01
Can't beat patriotic people?

11 Aug 2025 22:36:13
Right born abd bred on the clifton council estate, had a great childhood and lots to do when the village was the village, moved on abd settled in long eaton l, moved on again and settled in Awsworth
Thus country is me and I love it
I've enjoyed 68 years living in it
Times are changing yes but it's still ours and my country
Silkworm you always come back to this and always will
You don't like it then do one instead of complaining
I don't believe in God, but it's just a word at the end of the day
We've just signed jesus, so God help you there? ????.

11 Aug 2025 23:17:20
Edward Morgan Forster in “A Passge to India “ famously describes the National Anthem as “ a curt series of demands upon Jehovah”….
It’s hardly a National Anthem anyway as verse 2 goes on about giving the Scots a good shoeing, as they are our enemies to be “ confounded “ ( or at least the Jacobins anyway).
I regard myself as English ( with a dash of Irish from my Mums side) so “ Jerusalem “ should be our National Anthem without a doubt. Music by Hubert Parry and words by one of our greatest ( and most seditious) poets William Blake ) who was once tried for treason, a truly cussed awkward and stubborn Englishman. He could pick a fight in a Telephone Box had they been invented in the 18th century.
Personally, as a young man, my sympathies were Republican as a result of reading Thomas Hobbes and the political philosophers of the Scottish Enlightenment such as David Hulme and Adam Smith. But as a grew older and more pragmatic, I recognise that, unelected as the Royals are, they are consistently overwhelmingly popular in any polls ever conducted. They are effectively heads of State by the popular consent a free, democratic and proud people and that’s good enough for me.

11 Aug 2025 23:25:00
I think the nub of the problem at Wembley was a lack of respect, common humanity and tolerance by several sections of the crowd.
I was reminded of WH Auden’s famous poem about the outbreak of WW2, called “1st September 1939”
Particularly the lines……
“I and the public know
What every schoolboy learns
He to whom evil is done
Will do evil in return”.

12 Aug 2025 02:10:44
I dislike our National Anthem not for royal or religious overtones, it's because it's fiat and uninspiring!. The French Anthem gets me every time for passion, if we have to sing any, it should be Jerusalem, rousing fist pumping song.

12 Aug 2025 06:21:50
What planet are you on, DTP?

'Silkworm you always come back to this and always will
You don't like it then do one instead of complaining'

Always come back to what exactly?
I don't like TACO Trumputin. In your eyes it means I hate my country.
I don't want the word 'God' in our national anthem. In your eyes it means I hate my country. You are losing the plot.

12 Aug 2025 06:25:40
Jesus had nothing to do with 'God' as he was just a mentally ill man who hated his real dad enough to say he was the son of something else. About as cuckoo as you, mu duck.

{Ed001's Note - actually the most likely, like thousands of others at the time who were claimed to be of a virgin birth, he was the result of a rape by a Roman soldier.}

12 Aug 2025 13:25:22
An interesting and plausible theory Ed mate. Jesus and his family certainly existed as they were on the meticulously kept Roman census returns.
It’s odd how history turns out isn’t. Like the Church of England, now world wide, started to facilitate a Kings divorce.
Judea was a remote ( and troublesome) part of the Roman Empire. It’s just takes one charismatic leader and some good myth makers and you are away …….

{Ed001's Note - and some following on to completely rewrite the original myth and remove any troublesome things like references to his wife and start referring to her as a prostitute. Can't have women having a say in the world after all, they might actually get the church working for the good of people, rather than for the enrichment of the Vatican.}

12 Aug 2025 13:39:33
I personally think Jesus was the David Blaine or Dynamo of his day, imagine back in B. C. one of these guys fooling the public with their street tricks. ?.

12 Aug 2025 14:02:06
If anyone saw the documentary by Jeremy Bowen "Son of God "where they scietifly showed what Jesus would look like, and RedRobin he was more like Paul Daniels!.

12 Aug 2025 14:17:19
"A modern Fable"
Doctor says to a young woman that she's pregnant, "Impossible" she says "I live in a Spiritual commune where we are all naked, but we can only look at each others body's, no touching and definitely no physical contact! ", Doctor says "Well me'duck there's some fellow there who's cock -eyed ?‍?".

12 Aug 2025 18:36:43
Never takes much
Bible a story book as all the other religious ones are
Jesus could have been a magician?

And there's people believing that to be the case, many theories on him
Things get exaggerated when passed down the generations.

12 Aug 2025 18:37:58
The King is from a German family. Charles Uncle was a Nazi sympathiser - Edward VIII). You can like your country and not want an unelected head of state. If you don't like democracy and think wealth and privilege are a good thing, that's your business.

Freedom to express dissatisfaction with the status quo is important. Without it, we wouldn't even have the vote. If it had been up to the Royals, we never would.

Me? I want our land back, keep your titles, give me my fair share.

12 Aug 2025 18:52:45
Royalists always give you the old line about how much tourism money they bring in but the two most visited cities in the World NewYork and Paris are both in republics.
We always also hear how the monarchy is being slimmed down but there’s never any evidence.
They must be the most cosseted family in the world, seem, s immoral when we constantly face cut after cut, you can’t even get your bin emptied in Brim.

12 Aug 2025 18:53:26
Born in meadowell area of North East. Probably one of the roughest. Riots etc. But the lot of us on each estate looked after each other. Had to. Loud and proud. As ya age you value the hard times. As dtp pointed out.

12 Aug 2025 19:03:56
I’m not religious at at all but is strange that it’s ok to doubt and disrespect Christianity, or anything English, but if someone was to post pointing out the dubious premise or criticising certain other world religions, or having a go at another nationality, I doubt it would be posted, and if it was, someone would be getting a early morning call from starmers stasi, strange situation.

{Ed001's Note - the reason it is ok for English to criticise England or anything English is because they are English. Bit like it is OK for the Irish to make jokes about their nationality but anyone else doing it is racially stereotyping etc. As for doubting Christianity, of course it is ok to doubt any religion - by simple virtue of belonging to one religion you are casting doubt on all others.}

12 Aug 2025 19:21:03
Nothing immoral about being a royal
I'd hate being one personally, your life us never your own
I wouldn't do it for any amount of money and you can't help being born to rich people, royal or not
Carlo your son bought the house MGW was after, so he's not to bad off then ehh?
You don't reach a good argument there.

12 Aug 2025 19:29:57
Ed don’t really agree, but that’s your opinion fair enough, , I’m neither a royalist, or religious, but I don’t half get pissed off with people trashing this country, in more ways than one.

{Ed001's Note - it is the truth, how can any of us have an opinion on another country without living there? I have lived in 3 other countries, I will criticise what is wrong with them as well, but you can't expect people to criticise without knowledge. You have the king sheltering a paedophile rapist, how can you expect people to respect the royals?}

12 Aug 2025 19:43:45
And yet you still don't explain, DTP. What makes you think I hate my country? You don't know do you? Just like you target particular players you target my perceived lack of patriotism. Which is non existence in the first place.
Had two big horns. And a wooly jaw. Wooly Bully.

12 Aug 2025 19:54:33
Who is 'trashing he country', Stevie?

12 Aug 2025 20:00:47
We all as parents try to protect our own though edd?
We bring them up, but once grown up, we can only hope they behave
I honestly don't know what I would do in a situation where one of my siblings had committed any sort of bad crime
No matter what their your blood and its in our nature to protect them no matter what?

{Ed001's Note - sorry but not that. And it is not the first time either, this is almost a tradition.}

12 Aug 2025 20:18:45
Just saying edd and we all hope none of us has to deal with such things mate, but people have to unfortunately.

{Ed001's Note - I agree but that is one thing that I would not forgive. I have seen the damage it done to a good friend's daughter. She was changed completely. She once just out of nowhere started telling me about it. It was the most heart rending soul destroying thing I had ever listened to. I don't care who it is, I would not protect them if they subjected another child to the torment she suffered. Sorry I really shouldn't have got into this but it is just something I feel so strongly about.}

12 Aug 2025 20:21:52
Just like you've never explained who you really are on here, so you first?
Don't give me the bull your a new poster because you said way back you weren't.

12 Aug 2025 20:32:39
Ed I’m not a royalist, I’d get rid of this king Tommorow, I think he's senile, I’ve worked in many parts of the world speak 3 languages, and worked closely with different nationalities, feel relatively qualified to have an opinion of several, SILKMAN successive sets of useless weak feeble politicians, it sickens me that these useless persons have the power to send young men to war, when they themselves would s***themselves at the sound of a car backfiring.

{Ed001's Note - but most people don't have that knowledge to criticise, so they criticise what they know. By the way, in my experience the most patriotic people you will ever find are filipinos, they absolutely love their country and are incredibly proud of it. They also never stop bloody criticising it or other Filipinos. A lot of moaning comes from caring and wanting something we care about to be better.}

12 Aug 2025 22:32:11
Carlo, mate, had to have a little laugh about New York being a lure for tourists. Not these days my friend with Trump in charge. Tourism has gone down around 60% as no one wants to have their mobiles examined and lives stripped down at their Border control ( me included, cancelled my proposed trip down the Mississippi, Charleston and Savannah, also a cruise down the St Lawrence seaway which ends in NY).
As for Prince Andrew he’s a sleazy dog with a foul temper apparently but there’s no evidence of him being a paedophile. Quite a few prominent people have been photographed at Epsteins parties ( including Bill Clinton and Peter Mandelson for example ) but the girls, though young and vulnerable, were at least 17 years old.
As for German and Greek ancestry, well it doesn’t make you a bad person does it?

13 Aug 2025 03:08:10
The King is not this Country. You can love this country and want to rid of the Royals. You can also dislike religion and still like the country. It's complete nonsense to pretend people who don't agree with you are unpatriotic. My grandparents fought for my right to be free to challenge authority.

The aristocracy are a bunch of privileged people who were born into money and titles. They can get lost and give us back out land. I love plenty of the population and it's sick to see poverty everywhere and people supporting a system that keeps a bunch of people in the £££.

13 Aug 2025 04:03:58
Christianity is disrespected because it's the most ridiculous of them all. It's like a Michael Bay film. Full of plot holes. Inconsistent nonsense and storytelling and when it starts to lose its way then a bit of violence is thrown in to keep the viewer interested or (for the sake of the metaphor) to keep the believer scared of the invisible and impotent being that is God. And the main character is a pathetic excuse for a human being.

13 Aug 2025 12:18:13
The belief that some cosmic Jewish Zombie can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.

Oh, and he is also a ghost and will return to Earth to fight a non-existent Antichrist when believers will literally raise from the dead in their physical bodies (zombie army) is an apocalyptic endgame.

Makes perfect sense.

13 Aug 2025 14:22:58
Cyclist have you not seen World War Z? Its all true i tell the????.

13 Aug 2025 17:29:32
Based on a true story? If it actually happens I'll apologise to all Christians. ?

But if there is a heaven and God, I'm not worried. God gave me free will for a reason, and I use mine to think for myself. I'm not taking instructions from a book written thousands of years ago that's been wrongly translated over and over again. I'm banking on any God worth their salt who had a message for me to be able to be clearer than that.

13 Aug 2025 18:19:39
According to religion God has a plan for us which in turn negates free will.

25 Aug 2025 18:13:24
Never heard clough say that one?

10 Aug 2025 15:52:56
Ray Brookes passed on Saturday, he was one of them characters you grew up with!, it sort of reminds you that your mortal, when Richard O'Sullivan goes I will really panic!. ???.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Aug 2025 16:28:31
I can't say I know who Ray Brookes is. He was definitely before my time.

11 Aug 2025 21:50:57
I don't watch easterners, but i do know it wasn't before your time.

12 Aug 2025 08:05:31
What? Easterners? Senility keeping you up at night?

12 Aug 2025 14:19:53
He started in the sixties, then every decade he cropped up in something, not a star just a face that kept appearing in things like Sam Kydd, another you won't know Silk?.

{Ed001's Note - I had to google him - he was Mr Benn's narrator! I used to love that show as a kid.}

12 Aug 2025 19:45:41
That's right, Mossy. Way before my time. I haven't breached 40 yet.

12 Aug 2025 21:35:57
Was he in a series called a big deal about a small time gambler, ?

13 Aug 2025 12:52:02
Yes Stevie.

13 Aug 2025 13:02:13
Sorry Silkman wrong of me to assume you're my age?. At work I was told to show a new starter Ben around, as we where driving around we saw a horse and cart, straight away I said "Steptoe and son", "Do you know them? "said Ben, should learn my references are now dated!, anyway the rest of the journey I turned the "Wireless" on ?.

05 Aug 2025 13:49:04
Florence ( the home city of our visitors tonight) is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to.
The 15th century Holy Roman Emperor Charles 5th thought so too and his Hapsburg family ruled an Empire which included Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, the Low Countries and Italy so had plenty to choose from. When he visited Florence he decreed a curfew which included no noise, markets, festivals etc. so he could contemplate the wonders of the city in silence. The only sound permitted was the pealing of the church bells calling the faithful to Mass.

Agree5 Disagree0

05 Aug 2025 19:16:20
Apart from being a phenomenal Emperor, administrator and military leader Charles 5th was also a cunning linguist, fluently speaking 5 or 6 languages. Had a sense of humour also. He famously said he spoke Spanish to his wife, French to his mistress, Latin to his clergy, English to his diplomats, Italian to his God and German to his horse…….
Also, the Hapsburgs were said to get to extend their empire by marriage rather than war. However they kept it in the family, cousins, nieces, etc with the result that generations of them ( they only fell from powers after World War 1) had a congenital birth defect, the “ Hapsburg jaw” a protruding lower jaw with a massive over bite and a withdrawn upper jaw. Have a look at their portraits in various galleries around Europe….

{Ed001's Note - he was a cunning linguist? His wife and mistress must have loved him.}

05 Aug 2025 21:47:31
Good job I didn't try posting that line edd ????.

05 Aug 2025 21:52:51
OMG - it's happening again. Save me Lord!

05 Aug 2025 23:10:36
Ed1 he must have been very cunning to please his wife and mistress in that way with his huge jaw deformity mate. Imagine Bruce Forsyth or Jimmy Hill to the power of 10!
Joking aside, for a family to rule virtually the whole of Europe for 500 years is incredible. I think there is a remaining Habsburg in the European Parliament to this day. I’ve been to their very modest castle where they originated from in the middle of Switzerland.
It’s like the Tudors, an obscure Welsh lord from a tiny village in Anglesey ( or “Tudurs” as they were. My wife and I I have stayed in a wonderful restaurant with rooms next door to the tiny crumbling church where the 1000 year old effigies of the Tudors are. I’m amazed it’s not preserved as some sort of historical national treasure like the Habsburg castle in Switzerland.

{Ed001's Note - maybe there is hope for me, one great grandad is from Angelesey and another is an obscure Welsh lord. I always I was meant to rule to world but now you have just given me proof....}

06 Aug 2025 10:10:31
Ed 1 go for it mate! ???

Lego, not only is it happening again my friend but this time I’m armed with a pacemaker ……?????.

{Ed001's Note - I think editing these sites is about as far as I will ever get mate.}

06 Aug 2025 12:23:19
I was on about my spelling
Not sure what you two are on about.

01 Aug 2025 22:14:52
I hope that you can all join me in welcoming Stokey back after his ticker operation. I'm glad that things went well for you Stokey, my friend.

Bit of Squaddie-humour to counteract his Police-humour though. Personally, I think the guy is a total pussy. Real men spend 50 nights in hospital, not a mere 2. Quite embarrassing I think.

I'm glad it has all worked out OK Stokey. I look forward to your future lengthy posts as much as a dose of herpes.

Agree5 Disagree0

02 Aug 2025 10:59:09
Many thanks Lego ( I think) for your kind words. I’ve sent you a photo of the healing scar for your entertainment and delectation mate, but have your breakfast first!
You are entirely correct about my hospital visit mate. In football terms, your hospital experiences is top 4 Premier League ( say Liverpool for example) whereas mine is Notts Alliance at best ( eg Nottingham Pork Butchers 11).
Take care and enjoy the rugby ( Lions and wheelchair).
By the way, I’m told no more contact sports for me, ending my dream of a late call up for the Reds, along with no standing near microwaves and no arc welding ( whatever that is) ……. ??????.

02 Aug 2025 12:48:23
I really hope your heart's sorted Stokey, and no more emergency Hospital stays??.
Stokey usernames changes are popular at the moment, how about Dick Cheney Red? ??, take care and take it steady Stokey?.

02 Aug 2025 12:53:35
Thanks Mossy, I’ll give it some thought mate! ????.

02 Aug 2025 18:28:15
Stokey - I feel like another hospital stay is needed here for me after being smashed around for 2 hours at wheelchair rugby today!

Seriously though, given the Forest performance today how long do we all keep using the excuse that 'it's only pre-season games'. My biggest worry is that we are showing very little 'bite' in attack. I hope that this will be addressed over the next fortnight as, if not, I think that we're in trouble for the forthcoming season.

30 Jul 2025 21:41:13
Welcome to NFB heart club Stokie, full Monty for me but here to tell the tale, like you hardly any symptoms but told that it must be done.
For a few weeks after thought I couldn’t possible ever return to normal but patience is a virtue.
A few weeks of sitting in the lower tier (ticket office were very helpful) and then back up the steps.
Best advice, do what they tell you, they know their stuff.
Just have faith in the experts.
On being discharged was relieved to be told, done worry able having a pint, just moderation.
Good luck mate.
CARLO.

I've learned that the human body is an amazingly resilient creation Carlo. I've tweaked the nose of the Grim Reaper on a few occasions now. I've now decided not to take the Micky though!

31 Jul 2025 08:04:51
Many thanks for your kind advice and thoughts Carlo and Lego. I should be OK with a pacemaker I’m told. As long as I can skip up the Brian Clough Upper I’m happy comrades ??.

31 Jul 2025 08:58:04
My Dad had a full on heart attack in his 40’s ( called me home from uni in the middle of night in deepest darkest Wales to say my goodbyes. When I got home ; pre mobile phones) he was sat up in bed, wires and machines everywhere. First words “ What you bleddy doing here! You should be studying”! ?
In his 60s he had triple by pass surgery. But life’s a full life before passing at the good old age of 87 God bless him!

31 Jul 2025 10:44:59
I did ask the consultant for any advice he could give me and I was a bit discouraged when he said “ Yeah, don’t buy any long playing records” ??????

The good thing is I’ve managed to finish 3 books. And that’s a lot of colouring I can tell you…. ???

I’ll just have to pace myself in the future comrades. I’m reminded of the old story about the old bull and the young bull in a field watching a herd of cows.
The young bull says “ Hey old timer, let’s run across this field and Roger some of those cows”
The bull says “ Young ‘un why don’t we walk across and Roger all of them “? ????.

Just catching up whilst away in the tin shed. Wishing you all the best Stokey, I'm sure you'll be right as rain before you know it. As the Black Knight said, 'tis but a scratch'.

01 Aug 2025 09:05:16
Thanks MV mate! I’m was glad to get home last night though with a sore shoulder. They wouldn’t let me have a shower in hospital in case I collapsed and with all the monitoring wires attachedso I’m really looking forward to a long soak in the bath this morning. Simple pleasures we take for granted eh?
I’m slow on the uptake with all the anaesthetic I think but what’s the “tin shed “?

01 Aug 2025 15:46:24
The tin shed is a touring caravan, that i get out and about in all summer. Take it easy and recover fully.

01 Aug 2025 16:08:56
Will do mate! Many thanks ??.

30 Jul 2025 21:02:49
2Star - original post got buried.

Glad you got to go and had a good time at Oasis they have some massive anthems, bet it was a great sing a long.

Do you reckon they can behave themselves and try to crack the USA again, maybe they have chilledmatured a tad in their later years.

I've never seen them live.

IOW - definitely get yourself there one year, very chilled and friendly festival, always a good laugh and always some decent bands.

Couldn't believe how well he looked and how cool Sting was this year, and at 73, jeez!
Thats all that tantric sex for you:)

Well there's a turn up for the books comrades!
Went to give my 138th platelets donation yesterday afternoon at the Etruria Blood Donor Centre when a very pretty young nurse took my pulse and told me I couldn't donate as my heart rate was 37 bpm and dangerously low. Checked by a senior nurse, confirmed, referral to GP first thing this morning, immediate referral to Accident and Emergency at Stafford County Hospital, loads of tests, wired up to CGC machines all afternoon then ambulance with blue lights and sirens up the M6 to Stoke Cardiac Unit. No symptoms, no dizziness, no fainting nothing.
So, here I am, waiting for Pacemaker op hopefully tomorrow before I can go home.
Life is fragile isn't it? But hopefully, I'll be fighting fit before the season starts. It doesn't do to be a Reds fan if you have a dicky heart does it? Could have been much worse.
" Not yet Tommy, not yet. " ???.

{Ed001's Note - take care mate, get well soon.}

29 Jul 2025 22:57:16
Thoughts are with you Stokey, I'm confident everything will be O. K, and you will be sat in your seat at the City Ground for Brentford ??.

30 Jul 2025 09:08:39

30 Jul 2025 13:59:49
All the best stokey ?.

30 Jul 2025 15:29:58
Many thanks my friends. Thought I might get bail today but op won’t take place until Friday at the latest, hopefully before. They won’t send me home until then because heart rate is still dangerously low. NHS throughout have been absolutely brilliant, thank God we have them! ?????????????.

30 Jul 2025 15:33:21
Look forward to catching up with you too Lego! I realise my ailment is peanuts compared to yours mate.
I was wondering if you’d got your own private hospital entrance and a loyalty card ( Police humour no offence intended) ???.

30 Jul 2025 18:32:28
Of course I have Stokey! I also have my own 'little man' who takes me to and from my personal consultation room.

30 Jul 2025 19:39:13
Best of luck, Stokey. You'll be alright, mu duck.

30 Jul 2025 20:00:36
I also have porters to wheel me from place to place mate! I feel a complete fraud as I have no symptoms whatsoever but the machines don’t lie. My hearts electrical impulses are misfiring definately. They couldn’t even let me have a shower in case I toppled over. Crazy isn’t it?
However, when I do get my pacemaker I’m going to ask them to turn it up to 11………?????.

30 Jul 2025 20:48:29
'11, it just 1 better than 10!'

Ah man Stokey, so glad they caught you before anything bad happened, HR of 37, jeez likes like an ultra marathon runner.

Maranakis, Nuno and the crew will mend your heart mush!
Prem, be a piece of cake this year, no strain on the old ticker at all?.

Hope the op goes well mucker, you'll be like Sheriff Beauford T-Justice with that bad boy on board.

31 Jul 2025 08:23:12
Ginger! ????????.

31 Jul 2025 12:20:45
All the best Stokey, as always!

31 Jul 2025 12:45:16
Cheers mate! ?.

31 Jul 2025 14:26:30
Wishing you all the best Stokey, and a speedy recovery mate.

31 Jul 2025 22:44:51
Many thanks Arizona. Op was done this afternoon and successfully. Shoulder a bit sore but alls well. Ex. Army Surgeon did the job with some style. All his team in decorated scrubs and some great music to listen to. It was like something from MASH!
Again, full marks to the NHS. Brilliant from porters to consultants!

01 Aug 2025 16:49:33
Very pleased it went well my friend! Did they play the Theme from MASH lol? The Manics version is class!
Not long until you get to test the pacemaker out at the WFCG!
Take care mate!

02 Aug 2025 08:14:54
Suicide isn’t always painless Arizona mate. I know the Manics cover it is brilliant. Did I ever tell you ( to paraphrase BC ) that James Dean Bradfield met me on holiday in Taormina? Nice guy ( and wife/ girlfriend gorgeous and lovely) …. He lent me a book ( still got it somewhere).

29 Jul 2025 15:32:14
Just to switch sports for a minute how is Rehan Ahmed not in the England test team to play India at The Oval?

His form this year with bat and ball is simply incredible far better than Dawson

Is it because he olays for a Midlands county?

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jul 2025 16:25:07
Olay Olay Olay Olay.

Can he play at full back? Because we need two of them. Ask that Dawson fella if he can as well.

29 Jul 2025 19:31:10
Wow munmad you need to let go mate. I think they are doing ok?

30 Jul 2025 09:20:52
Munmad yep ask Chris read he suffered for years from this, when James Taylor played for notts, the ECB made him go and play a game for Essex because they needed a ‘ look at him, “, going back as far as Derek Randall, who was always the 1st man dropped after a couple of low scores, look at Zak Crawley, would he have had so many chances if he didn’t play for Kent? Incidentally Rob key’s county, Kim Barnett of Derbyshire never played enough for England, it’s been a problem for decades,
