I can’t add anything to the superlatives already posted.
Scintillating attacking performance first half with organized pressing and ruthless finishing, forcing mistakes from a team that are usually well organised defensively. Followed by a disciplined defensive display second half, despite yet another injury loss to a key centre back.

I’m assuming the substitution of Sanghere was tactical with a glut of games coming up?
VP is a brilliant man manager and a superb tactician. He’s somehow found a way to get Jesus in his most effective position as number 10 behind Woody whilst keeping MGW happy scoring goals for fun, out wider but tucked in when out of position.

That was one hell of a game.
Great performance all round and the team are looking fantastic under VP.
The squad seem to like and trust him.
Wood and Jesus upfront works well.
I will be keeping a close eye on Wolves today and I really hope they beat the horrible Spurs to join them in the Championship.

Jesus was going to struggle as a lone striker, but circumstances dictated that he had to, and I think, at times, he looked a bit frustrated, but he still got on with it, and gave his all.

Now Wood is back, hopefully we get to see what he's all about, and he finishes the season strongly.

He might just be a bargain signing.

Sunderland have a very, very good defensive set up. They were superb when they beat us at the WFCG. But they couldn't cope with Jesus (and the rest of the lads) last night.

Just as Burnley couldn't when he came on.

By the way, I'm still chuckling, mate, at your remark that the 6 Burnley defenders chasing him for our last goal "nearly" caught him. They didn't, and he finished brilliantly.

Nah Gazzi, I’m not comparing like with like, mate. Jesus has about the same amount of pace as Teddy Sheringham, ie not that much, but it didn’t stop him becoming a great, did it. It’s knowing when to break, isn’t it, that first 20 to 30 yards. Woodys got it.

Anyway, Bolt never had a football to control with 6 blokes trying to take his legs from under him, did he? And still have the composure to slip it past the advancing keeper. Just brilliant!

One of the most impressive wins from our club with absolutely everyone giving all they have got. I’m tired of hearing how Jesus is not a Premier League striker. Tonight he scored one and made another two. With him and Wood up front, we will surely score more. Even Taiwo looked good when he came on.
Great attacking and defending all round and again Pereira made the right tactical choice of bringing more midfielders on to stop Sunderland’s midfielders flooding possession.


Very proud of the team and all the staff and supporters. More points are still available and I think we can still grab some. Brilliant night. I just happened to be watching Matt Forde live when it was happening. Couldn’t believe the scores my phone kept showing!

Just got back home, right trek for a Friday night, but certainly worth it.

The away fans tonight were fantastic from minute 1, and I believe actually contributed to the performance, one of the best away atmospheres I've ever known.



Fair few Sunderland fans congratulated us after saying we were the best fans they've seen this season.

That's us safe now n hopefully we can have a right good go v Villa. 👏 🙌 👍 💪
