Clear as daylight we need a striker and round pegs in round holes namely Williams on the right and Netz on the left

3 times Williams got clear on the left and 3 times he crossed poorly! As soon as Aina went off he put great crosses in from the right

OG it’s not rocket science.

I've been saying about replacing Wood for about 6 months now, Munmad. Not only because of his injury, but because you can't stop the march of old Father Time, mate. It's become more urgent now that Taiwo's gone.
Jesus did very well under VP, and is a superb finisher playing off a big striker.

23 Aug 2026 01:18:10
Igor Thiago for 70 million.

Could work.

23 Aug 2026 09:36:29
Seems like thrashing about in panic. We knew we needed a striker at the end of last season. We knew we would be getting Anderson money, and now we are randomly bidding 70 mill for a bloke that's just signed a new 5 year contract, near the end of a transfer window. It does not strike me as a planned strategy.

23 Aug 2026 10:03:14
Smoke and mirrors. I reckon Mateta is the real target. Have a look on the sports pages, plenty of articles with him trying to void the final year of his contract. ?

23 Aug 2026 10:39:16
I just can't see us going into the transfer window knowing we have the Ando money, and not having some sort of plan. Mateta has been a target all along, knowing he only has a year left on his contract, he has had advice around terminating it. Sounds like a Mr M move imo, besides revenge is always best when served cold.

Its not like the Greek mafia to let sleeping dogs lie, perfect revenge on Parish, steel his manager, sue his club, then finally, rob their best player for nothing.
Conspiracy right there??

So ta bed
Really don't know where to start tbh.
Ok let's go with my predictions.
1= Woods lost a yard and game confidence.
2= Jesus needs a yard (watching him today standing well from a striker's area) ok cpl blatant chances. But missed.
3= I said mgw would peel off on his workrate and go wide with frustration.
4= The set pieces would be pathetic.
5= Sangare peeled off latter half of season. Usless.
6= Final 3rd will always struggle.
7= More than happy with defending.

8= You lot thinking Glasner would make a difference. Remember I said you can only piss with the cock you've got.
9= I predicted the coach not getting through the 1st half of season with the big fella.
10= I'm only an observer of this magnificent game. A fan of the two men who helped me see the simplicity. Clough/ Taylor. I'm a lover of this club till I die.
Not a negative, just an honest fan.
Remember never take them around ya for granted. Xx.

Some good and sensible posts on here, particularly from you Stevie. Some daft ones too. I’ll leave you lot to work out which is which.
It’s one game and it panned out as I’ve been saying in several conversations this week. Two mediocre middle of the table teams cancelling each other out until the 88th minute anyway. We hit the post, they had a goal narrowly ruled out for offside, 2 excellent saves by each goalkeeper. Then the final brilliant set piece goal and possibly a bit of slack positioning by Sels. I thought a nil nil draw was favourite or at best a one nil. Unfortunately to Leeds.
It’s early days but my mind keeps going, unbidden, to the end of last season under VP when we were scoring for fun even without key players like Murillo and Woody.

This afternoon we basically looked as if we wouldn’t score if we carried on playing until tomorrow.
Cyclist, Mr M has got us to the Prem and into Europe for the first time in 20 plus years. But he’s also made mistakes and I think sacking VP was his biggest to date. Time will tell. We still have time left in the transfer window to put the final couple of pieces of the jigsaw into place. As I’ve been saying, striker for Woody and replacement for Ando. And why is Ortega playing for Olympiakos tonight and not us? Another Mr M error?
Selection wise, why Ndoye and McAtee starting instead of Dominquez and Jesus off Wood instead of the diminutive Jesus against their giant centre back?
“Living the Glasner dream”? How’s it working for y’all so far?

23 Aug 2026 00:18:46
I agree, Stokey, just in from a night out.
I thought it was pretty even, to be honest, and thought we deserved at least a draw, so to lose late on seemed quite harsh.

We had some good chances to score without actually playing great, which is always positive to see.

We also saw some good moves here and there to keep me upbeat for the season.

Got to be hurting if you are Man U. I watched the game, Hull thoroughly deserved it. It was hilarious when they announced the cancellation of the trains back to Manchester. :)

23 Aug 2026 06:42:21
Morning. Still living the Glasner dream, 1 game. Im not part of the suicide squad. ? Couple of good signings before next week, and we will be on for a good season. A win next week and you will all be saying how great Glasner is, thats just how fickle some fans are. Anyway, off to work, living the Glasner Mr M dream. ?

23 Aug 2026 12:20:52
The Glasner dream twice in one post, Skeggs. Well done, mate, you are doing the dreaming for all of us……….
Working on a Sunday? Are you a Vicar? ??????

22 Aug 2026 18:49:43
It's one game, if I didn't know better after reading some of the comments below, I could be forgiven for thinking we have been relegated out of the football league. Some of the dribble that comes out of your mouths. ? I think the best one is 'Jesus almost got us relegated'. Did he? He alone? Get a grip you silly old farts. ? ?

Agree7 Disagree0

22 Aug 2026 21:05:00
Nood some transfer window action. Bored of the meltdowns and stuff already.

22 Aug 2026 21:05:18
*Need.

22 Aug 2026 22:22:47
Unfortunately, mate, we could sign Bellingham and Vini Jnr and there would still be complaints from some sections here. ?

22 Aug 2026 22:36:21
Stop it, rrh. The problems are right in front of ya, just cannot believe most of this lot burying their heads.

22 Aug 2026 22:45:31
I think everyone knows the problem, Bowie.

We haven't got the squad we want yet. If they moved the deadline for transfers to a week before the first game, it would sort a lot of the nonsense out...

22 Aug 2026 22:56:47
Stop it? It's true, just have a look down. One game, one defeat. Would you say, after an opening day defeat by one goal, that the season is over? Would you say an opening day defeat makes us relegation candidates? It was a narrow defeat against a decent side. The thumbs tell me others agree. ?

22 Aug 2026 23:07:49
And I'm not having ago, Bowie, you have played the game and know a hella lot more than most here. Sometimes you have those games where you could play until midnight and not score, whereas a Saturday later every scuff shot flies in.

As Stokey posted above, it's not like we didn't create or get on the end of crosses and passes. ? Happens. We'll be fine. The new players we have signed are still being integrated and more will follow. ?

22 Aug 2026 23:08:48
You listened to it on the radio, RRH. Be careful, I'm trying my best here.

22 Aug 2026 23:15:43
Be careful? Black ops at the door tonight? ?‍?️

22 Aug 2026 23:39:14
Ok rrh, your way.

22 Aug 2026 23:21:16
Yes i listened to it in the Van, working today, such is life, I've watched the extended highlights already though. What the radio has to do with anything is irrelevant. I'll stick to my guns, besides i might need them if you are contacting a hit squad. ?

23 Aug 2026 09:13:31
Bowie was watching the Forest v Leeds game from 2008 when we played Leeds in League 1. ???

23 Aug 2026 17:18:07
Skegs, ppl we're asking where you were on livechat? I replied probably fixing Glasner's bog, concealing a lav cam.

22 Aug 2026 18:39:48
There’s no point jumping to anything after one game and Leeds have improved. But we’ve been in 3 relegation fights in 4 years, and our recruitment has been inconsistent / not that good since we returned.

Some of it has been great clearly but a lot of it has been dire. After last season’s recruitment tombola, this season has been quieter than we may have hoped.
This season I assume we will buy Delap for 35/40m within the next week and the midfielder from Milan. Having seen Delap a few times live last season I don’t really rate him if I’m honest but he is the kind of target man OG would like.

Anyhow, for those saying top 7/8 on here, I admire your optimism but that was never likely given the squad and the way this club is run.

We can only hope M and OG stay friends for the first few games of the season whatever the results are.

I’m no fan of Mr M at all, but let’s see how things pan out over the next few weeks both on and off the field.

Onwards and sideways.

22 Aug 2026 19:02:41
I am a Marinakis fan. All day, every day. 20 odd years in the wilderness, and he's backed the club and got us into Europe, and "supporters" don't like him? Wow!

Zero gratitude. Zero recognition of how hard it is to stay in the Prem League first season or two.

His biggest mistake yet could turn out to be replacing Pereira. We looked a proper unit under him. Strange decision.

22 Aug 2026 19:13:08
It is actually possible to have gratitude but also not be a fan. That is actually possible.
Do I have gratitude for all we could agree on? Yes. Finances, love for the club.
Am I a fan of him and his behaviour - spitting at / near a ref, charging into the pitch after Nuno, and berating him in front of all of us there that day, firing VP minutes before some kind of deadline, hiring 5 managers in 12 months, etc - no, I'm not a fan, 100% not.

22 Aug 2026 19:28:05
Yes, Forestcagain. Biggest mistake he ever made, berating Nuno and not backing him in the window when he needed a squad for Europe. But Im still giving him 1 last chance. Hes paid a manager, the second most expensive in the Premier League, to get a job done.

He now needs to back him with players before the window shuts, so let's see. Living the Glasner Mr M dream. ?

22 Aug 2026 19:48:02
Yes, cos Nuno is doing a cracking job at West Ham.

22 Aug 2026 19:50:41
If you don't like the drama, watch cricket. I hate boring owners who show no passion. And the refs? I love Marinakis! ? ❤️

22 Aug 2026 20:02:33
Don't care what hes doing at West spam, Stevie, its what he did when he was here, pal, living the Nuno European dream. ?

22 Aug 2026 20:17:21
Yes, one season wonder, one trick pony, still playing the same style at West Ham and costing them points.

22 Aug 2026 20:27:41
Stevie boy, best manager we've had in decades, fact. 1 season wonder or not, but if he'd of been backed there could of been many more seasons. We love Nuno the magician. ?

22 Aug 2026 20:35:07
If you've got any mates who are West Ham fans, give them a ring. I can guarantee you they'd be happy to drive him up here.

22 Aug 2026 20:44:42
I've got plenty of friends who are Nottingham Forest fans. Also a lot of Forest fans, including all of the Forest young fans who have never seen Forest in Europe, love Nuno the magician.

So I don't need to do that, pal. I also have a lot of Leicester friends, as I'm from Leicester, who say Cooper is s****, you know, the bloke you think is great. ? Just saying, pal. ?

22 Aug 2026 21:04:01
Marinakis got us into Europe. Nuno had a flukey one season with no injuries. If he was that good, he'd have done it more than once. ?

22 Aug 2026 21:10:06
Skegs, I don't believe you've got that many friends. ?

22 Aug 2026 21:12:17
Yes, Cyclist, Maranakis picked the group of no hopers, turned them around in a season, made them play as a team. Well done, Maranakis. ??? You on the shandy's again. ??

22 Aug 2026 21:24:41
Stevie, more friends than you can ever imagine in the real world, pal. Sorry to disappoint. But, if you mean on this little site im not that bothered, as I dont expect to make many with always being right. ?

22 Aug 2026 21:40:20
Skegs, you seem welded to this site, surprised you've got time for friends off it. ?

22 Aug 2026 21:50:28
I've missed you, Stevie. And I use my phone, pal. I can do the multitasking while speaking to my many friends across England. But I'm glad you're keeping yourself updated with everything I do on this site. It obviously means you like what I say, and want to be my friend too. ???

22 Aug 2026 22:37:02
Cooper is a God. He performed an actual miracle. Bottom of the Championship to the Prem less than a season, then kept us up. Legend.

A real Forest fan wouldn't try to talk the man down after that. ?

23 Aug 2026 07:50:43
A Forest fan from Fester is as rare as dodo droppings Recliner boy you are as we all know a Bin Dipper.

You love dripping your poison on here while your team languishes in the pub league!

23 Aug 2026 15:00:47
I'm sure multi millionaire Mr M is relieved that you are giving him one last chance, Skeggs! ? ?
Stevie, a bit of advice, mate. Don't reply to Skeggs' posts, or you, apparently, become a member of his dubious fan club….
Anyway, he has at least 2 friends….. Stella Artois and Rhea Cliner…. Fact! ? ? ? ? ?
Just a couple of points to ponder…..

Mr M didn't turn a bunch of no hopers round in a season, mate, as any Forest fan would know. He was the owner for at least 4 years before he appointed SC.
Secondly, there's a big difference between saying that you are always right and actually being right…….

22 Aug 2026 18:33:08
I think anyone expecting anything other than a transitional season is being very optimistic. It’s going to take a season and 3 transfer windows for Glasner to get players that fit his system. Most of the players currently here don’t. I’d take 17th now personally. Whether Marinakis will be patient enough I doubt. Let’s see. Our transfer business has been way too slow, and if we really are trying to compete at the top half as claimed, we need to start signing proven prem quality.

If we can’t afford to, then stop raising expectations. If you keep signing’ project players’ you will always remain a project, not. Criticism really, just a fact really. Plain fact is our starting eleven today was weaker than the one that finished last season.

Agree5 Disagree0

22 Aug 2026 19:00:41
Finally, a balanced, sensible post. ??

22 Aug 2026 19:19:18
See where you are all coming from, but that was rubbish. No midfielder, no attack. We played better football last season, end of. Very disappointing performance, and Glasner has to get a grip on the team, or Mr M, who was once again absent, will out him, make no mistake. And the rumours about Yates having a fall out with the coach won't help.

Let alone the over zealous security before the game is putting people off. We could have won today, but Wood is past it, and McAtee isn't up to it. I don't get it. You chase a player all pre season and we don't even play him. I'm talking about the black chap who is mates with Sangare. I'm just not getting it. I love Forest, but something isn't right.

22 Aug 2026 19:30:50
I hope Yates has had a fall out with Glasner and he gets rid. How's the team supposed to move on when you're clinging onto players that are not good enough just because they've come from the academy. I can see why Billy Davies wanted rid of it.

22 Aug 2026 21:07:36
Yates is injured, isn't he? Has the rumour mill gone nuts? Hope so.

Why did we let Pereira go again? ?

22 Aug 2026 21:08:39
Yates is injured, didn't play and wasn't available. I actually think he would have relished and shone against Leeds, a physical side. He loves a scrap, does Yatesy. Say what you like, he's a leader and a warrior.

If we had 11 like him, we d have won that one or at least not lost.
On another note, I'm just wondering why we have Victor and Benda as reserve goalkeepers whilst I see Ortega is currently playing for Olympiakos?

22 Aug 2026 21:42:31
Yates is injured, he's got a sore throat. From shouting, bring back Nuno. ??

22 Aug 2026 22:39:13
Ortega told the club he wasn't happy being second choice, and his contract ended. Can't blame a player who prefers Champions League football and being first choice over wages. Proper player.

23 Aug 2026 10:18:58
Agreed, Cyclist. But I wonder if Mr M should have a clause in Ortega's contract (or just decide, as owner of both Forest and Olympiakos) that, in the event of Sels getting a long-term injury, he flies in for a long-term loan as first choice?
I've no faith in Victor, although I don't know much about Benda and have never seen him play.

22 Aug 2026 18:32:25
Remember how well we were doing under Pereira? ?

Agree3 Disagree0

22 Aug 2026 19:03:19
Cyclist, stop adding fuel to the fire, 95% of the posters on here are already banned from their medicine cabinets, the metal cutlery has been locked away, and there's definitely no shaving going on for a while. ??

22 Aug 2026 19:15:07
?????

I don't know what you mean. ?

22 Aug 2026 19:21:06
? ? ?

22 Aug 2026 19:31:45
We love Nuno. Bring back the magician. ?

22 Aug 2026 19:55:36
Nah Skegs, Chris Hughton is out of work. ?

22 Aug 2026 20:03:25
So his Cooper. ???

22 Aug 2026 22:48:03
Where is Pereira? Herding camels or something?

22 Aug 2026 17:46:16
You can’t win games if you can’t score goals. Zero lessons learned by the recruitment team from last season. Jesus isn’t a Premier League striker and Wood nearing the end of his career. All so obvious.

Agree3 Disagree0

22 Aug 2026 18:20:03
.... And still we sit on our a***.

22 Aug 2026 18:27:25
Didn't we win a game last season when we had no shots on target and they got an own goal? I forget which game. ?

22 Aug 2026 18:35:25
How long have I been saying this, Red Frog? Jesus has to have played his last game for Forest after that performance. It should be clear and obvious, particularly to a manager of OG's experience, that he is not fast enough, quick enough, or good enough for this level of football. He nearly got us relegated last season and will be responsible for of this season. He has to go. Same goes for James McAtee.

A good player would have taken control of the midfield today and showcased his talent, as Leeds were poor. He has to go also. He had his chance in the Europa League semifinal against Villa, and did nothing. I am very concerned about what I watched today (and I got in late), but not in the slightest bit surprised after what I watched last season and in pre-season. Rubbish.

22 Aug 2026 18:35:48
We'll never win owt with Maricrackers at the helm. Spent billions, got 4 clubs & never won owt with any of em. The bloke's a raving nutcase. We were the form team under Vitor at the back end of last season.

So what does he do? Sack him & give Glasner the same bunch of relegation no hopers (minus Anderson) that failed for the majority of last season.
Just do one & sell us to someone of sound mind & body.

22 Aug 2026 18:52:03
Balloons ?, new record for this site:
1 game, 1 defeat, 18 members on suicide watch.

22 Aug 2026 18:54:55
Agreed, Larry.
Agreed.

22 Aug 2026 18:59:11
The meltdowns are popcorn moments for me, Robin. We'll play worse and win. We were a bit unlucky. Poor finishing cost us.

Get Fofana and a good number 9 in. At least one fast WB and we'll be OK.

Bit worrying if Wood isn't fit enough to start.

I'd love to speak to the doctors and ask what the truth is on his fitness. If it's not good, then they must be looking for a striker, and Glasner is playing games trying to get the price down.

22 Aug 2026 19:05:08
Cyclist, some of it is hilarious. ?
