Be careful this evening tonight gentlemen, don't want to be doing a hip whilst dancing along to the opening ceremony 🀭🌳

Loved the speech. Just like to thank the cartel for the stadium. Anyone looking for spice on your hot dogs, make your way downstairs. Meth, see the peanut bloke.

2

11 Jun 2026 20:02:13
Had all the Geordies biting today, most saying they knew Toon wouldn't have a clause. I said I call it Santa clause.

1

11 Jun 2026 20:18:43
After that first touch, I would imagine Sithole will be staying there for the rest of the game. 🌳

3

12 Jun 2026 10:11:14
What made me laugh about the speech was 'the game of football is for everyone.' Tell that to Saint-Maximin and his family. Driven out of Club America (who, incidentally, play their home games @Estadio Azteca) because of the colour of their skin. 🌳

Sorry to go on about the BBC, but there's a tremendous article by their Economic Editor Faisal Ahmed on the economic model for this World Cup. It's designed entirely to rip the fans off, with little outlay from the Government.
Renting stadiums and dynamic pricing are the key.
Well worth a read.
Beware, it may arrive in the UK. It's already PSG's system...

1

12 Jun 2026 12:57:37
Faisal Islam, not Ahmed.

1

12 Jun 2026 13:17:31
I read the BBC a lot, it's usually biased reporting, football-wise, by reporters with limited knowledge of the game, or extreme left wing bullcrap. If I didn't have to pay a licence and they didn't have free football on, I'd ditch it.
As for ticket prices, etc., I watched the highlights of the game in the early hours this morning, half-full stadium to watch what was a good, competitive game.

Shame, really, but that's FIFA's and the US's fault.
Get the tournament back in Europe or Africa and have fair prices. 🌳

3

12 Jun 2026 13:19:58
Actually, more fool me, the football isn't free, is it? 🀣🌳

Very good DTP!

2

11 Jun 2026 18:07:24
That's what a Forest Banter team would probably look like.

4

11 Jun 2026 18:59:48
I agree, Gaz. Can you even imagine a Forest Banter 5 a side team? An average weight of 17.5 stone with 35% body fat - a team ranging in age from 50 to 70 (apart from Winter, who is still awaiting puberty at 12 years old) and severely bad attitudes from each and every player!

5

11 Jun 2026 19:07:50
I'll be Bobby the Waterboy. πŸ˜Άβ€πŸŒ«οΈπŸŒ³

1

11 Jun 2026 19:09:33
6 or 7 red cards nailed on every game...
Plenty of "over the top" tackles thrown in as well.

2

11 Jun 2026 19:30:56
More like the 'Cabin Boy' in the naval days of old Winter.

1

11 Jun 2026 19:55:31
The Cabin Boy is far too clever for me. 🀣 I'd have to be Seaman Staines. 🌳

2

11 Jun 2026 21:56:24
I'm still fit, but my ankles are not great. I'm in if RedHotRed is manager. I'd love to see his touchline demeanor. 😁

3

11 Jun 2026 23:15:48
Stick me in goal, (Kes).

2

11 Jun 2026 23:46:52
I'd love Stokey to be the commentator at our 5 a side game. He'd still be talking about the correlation between the game and the battle of Troy long after the ground had emptied.

2

12 Jun 2026 10:48:58
Lego, it was a siege lasting 10 years. It ended only when the Greeks staged a pretend evacuation to their ships and left the Trojan Horse behind, containing warriors who opened up the city gates from the inside.

My commentary would have ended with the words "The Trojans think it's all over... IT IS NOW". πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

1

12 Jun 2026 14:21:37
Lol watch the film and spot the 747 in the battle scene. πŸ˜‰πŸŒ³

11 Jun 2026 08:42:04
How can Manchester City be allowed to bid 125m for Anderson and now say they want Gibbs White as well!

Given they are facing charges of 117 breaches of FFP!

This farce has gone on long enough now they are as guilty as hell but their lawyers are appealing everything.

Everton and Forest were docked pts.

Cheats never prosper! Apart from in the Premier League apparently.

5

11 Jun 2026 09:44:04
We should take the money and then refuse to let them go as our part of the settlement.

0

11 Jun 2026 10:37:05
We should cash in. No way he's worth that.

1

11 Jun 2026 12:42:49
You naughty boy, Skeggs.
πŸ˜‰

2

11 Jun 2026 12:59:32
I'm being serious, Rogie. I don't know where these valuations come from. Start of last season I wouldn't of gave 20 million for him. I'm quite happy for him to stay, obviously more than happy. But, me personally, I would of took the 120 million, bought a case of Stella and had a party.

1

11 Jun 2026 12:47:28
I'm thinking along Ed 1 s lines mate where Man City are so wealthy that they will take the hit ( points, embargo, fine whatever) and ride it out .

1

11 Jun 2026 14:09:35
It's being reported today that clubs who have been direct rivals to City are getting advice on legal moves. Apparently, they want 100 million each if City are found guilty. Seeing as we challenged them for a Champions League place, and lost an FA Cup semi to them, we had better be one of those clubs. 🌳

5

11 Jun 2026 14:20:06
Just hope no one thinks of suing us when we were docked 4 points? Glass houses and stones, etc.

2

11 Jun 2026 15:11:31
I did think that, Stokey, Luton in particular. 🌳

2

11 Jun 2026 19:10:09
Going back to them wanting both Anderson and MGW, we should demand a straight swap, our pair for Haaland. 🌳

1

10 Jun 2026 19:08:27
I shouldn't laugh, but please check out the current conditions in Florida. Hoping the lads have packed their armbands and rubber ducks. Monsoon. 🀣🌳

3

10 Jun 2026 20:31:24
Should well acclimatised then!!!

3

10 Jun 2026 20:53:18
Puts a whole new meaning to across the pond. 🀣🌳

2

10 Jun 2026 23:44:59
Wow, missed some right sitters in this friendly.

2

11 Jun 2026 00:26:52
Watching the after match, who dresses Roy Keane?
That's a s*** shirt. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

3

11 Jun 2026 05:12:46
Not as bad as the United one he wore!!.
🀣🀣🀣

6

10 Jun 2026 16:46:06
Has anyone seen that Everton have been ordered to pay Burnley 35 million? It relates to the 2021-22 season when Burnley went down. They argued that because Everton broke FFP rules (they got a points deduction from following year along with us) they had unfairly got a sporting advantage.

Now surely this will open a can of worms so to speak. Think City and their pending charges. Possibly even ourselves. 🌳

2

10 Jun 2026 17:07:14
It's an intriguing thought, RRH. Sports law is very opaque, so I've no idea how it works.
I still think Man City have the best defender in the Premiership... their lawyer.... πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

4

10 Jun 2026 17:19:18
I have no idea either mate, it looks from the outside that they just make it up as they go along. 🌳

2

10 Jun 2026 20:06:46
No I only heard it on the radio winter. πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

1

10 Jun 2026 21:45:57
Massive can of worms. Man City owe us the money we should have got for being in the Champions League, as they qualified after gaining an unfair advantage by cheating all these years. They should have been relegated about 6 years ago.

2

10 Jun 2026 22:22:05
It's the can of worms that needs opening though.
Everton are a platform to bring City down.

2

10 Jun 2026 23:09:41
Exactly my point, DTP. 🌳

2

10 Jun 2026 23:25:11
If City aren't punished during the close season and allowed to carry on spending, then the Premier have to be held accountable.
If it carries into the new season, then fans can do their bit at games by demonstrating and staying outside of grounds when they play away.
It's the only way something will happen.

2

10 Jun 2026 15:59:16
Have a look on the BBC football website for the new rules on VAR, time wasting and other stuff. All very good in my opinion, especially as they come from Pierluigi Collins, surely the greatest football referee ever imo.
Long overdue ….
Get plenty of drinks in, some matches will last a lot longer….

10 Jun 2026 17:11:32
I'm on my cruise starting Monday from Athens to Istanbul via Rhodes, Crete, Ephesus and Troy. As England's kick-offs are at 9 pm and the Greeks and Turks are 2 hours ahead of us anyway, I can't see me staying awake with a combination of England's midfield, the extra 20 minutes and a large number of whiskey sours. πŸ₯ƒ
A blessed relief, I think. πŸ€ͺ

3

10 Jun 2026 17:25:37
Sounds great (other than the time diff). Have a fab time.
Maybe just get up 2 hours later and go from there. :)

1

10 Jun 2026 18:23:56
That's an interesting idea, Ginger, mate, but then I'd miss the organized guided tours by experts. We particularly want to see the archaeological excavations at Knossos and Ephesus, and we are very excited about going to Troy, the place of Greek legends.

So, a lie in is not an option. My wife and I are 70, and time is probably short. Whereas World Cups come and go.

2

10 Jun 2026 21:07:06
Don't exaggerate, Stokey - although you look it, you're not quite 70 yet, mate! Have a great cruise, my friend. I would seriously love to visit Troy. Send me some pics, please.

1

11 Jun 2026 10:56:12
Try Troysrus, Stokey. 🫒

2

11 Jun 2026 12:18:51
Will do Lego. Really excited about the trip. I never thought that, as a working class lad at University reading the Iliad I'd ever see the remains of Troy.
The ship follows what must have been the route the invading Greeks took over " the wine dark sea".
Also looking forward to seeing the Palace of Knossos. I wonder what the Minotaur really was.Half man, half Bull apparently according to legend.

Likewise Ephesus. Biblical sources ( for what they're worth) say Mary Mother of Jesus lived here after Christs crucifixion and St Paul also.
The beauty of going with Viking is, it's educational too, with on board library, state of the art lecture theatre and resident historians. None of this SAGA ( which stands for Send a Grandad Abroad apparently). πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

0

11 Jun 2026 13:31:39
Acropolis booked (should be a good tester for the old pacemaker at 35 degrees up the steps), then (much cooler) Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque.
Lego, showing my optimism here, mate, by booking next year's cruise from Rome to Barcelona via Marseille and Casablanca!

0

11 Jun 2026 17:31:31
Meanwhile back at the taverna.

2

12 Jun 2026 07:51:10
I'll stick with sitting in the sunshine over xmas in Lanzarote blowing the froth off a few. πŸ»πŸ»πŸ˜‚

1

12 Jun 2026 08:02:53
And watching the ruins walk by. πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

1

12 Jun 2026 10:59:47
Excellent, Bowie. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ‘.
DTP, the best thing about a cruise is that you take your luxurious hotel room with you, huge balcony with an ever-changing view and 7 or 8 different bars and restaurants. There's still scope for a cold beer ashore. I remember us having several glasses seated outside looking into the Grand Canal in Venice last year. I've never seen anything like it. Drinks package covers all the bases.

We ordered a glass of champagne on a river cruise 2 years ago and a Serb barman just said "Drinks package? Save my legs filling up your glasses. Take the bottle and if you can't drink it, just pour it away." We drank it...
Got a more sedate poolside holiday booked later in the summer at Mallorca. We are still going to visit Palma Old Town, the 13th century Cathedral and Castle, and have a scout for a few bars, mate....

1

12 Jun 2026 12:41:58
Not for me Stokey, doesn't float my boat. 🍻

2

10 Jun 2026 11:31:44
Retained list is available. Any thoughts?
I'm sorry to see Ortega and Gunny
released but they are both too good for reserve football.

2

10 Jun 2026 13:48:23
Yeah, Oretga was always heading back home at the season's end, and Gunn needs to be no.1 somewhere to hold down his spot in the Scottish side.
I'd say we're going to have to be actively slimming down the numbers.

We're extremely top heavy in some positions and very light on others. It would be nice to see them sold rather than loaned out. Extra pennies towards FFP and for a new striker. 🌳

3

10 Jun 2026 15:07:23
We need a fire sale. Overload with as been's, never was'ers, & overpriced Championship quality players, otherwise another season of mediocrity looms.

0

10 Jun 2026 16:35:47
I think you've inadvertently strayed onto the Forest site, Larry. Have a look at Leicester, your team. Your comments will make sense there, mate. πŸ™„πŸ™„

8

10 Jun 2026 18:42:51
Either way, I'd rather have a squad full of overpaid Championship players than one full of League One guys on Premier League wages. 😝🌳

4

10 Jun 2026 19:01:48
Skegness Town through & through, Stokie. We'll be playing Man City next season if the FA get their thumbs out with the charges.

3

10 Jun 2026 20:35:57
Lol Balloons, I'd love to see Foden, poo bag in hand, clearing the penalty box before kickoff. Then, seeing them and their army of players and staff piling out of the garden shed/away dressing room. 🌳

1

10 Jun 2026 07:34:58
Bellingham is a different player now to what he was, slower and even more arrogant if that was possible! I think someone should have a word in his ear, and take his wallet out of his back pocket!

3

09 Jun 2026 09:17:32
Listening to Tim Sherwood on Sky Sports. He agrees with me that there is no creativity in the England squad

Rice, Anderson, The Crab, Mainoo are all 6/8s. Roger’s is a winger. Bellingham is a great box to box player, but against a low block defence not effective.

That’s why you need Palmer, Gibbs, White or Foden, who do have the X factor.

3

09 Jun 2026 10:32:20
Bellingham is more of a no.10. He's probably the most creative Englishman since Gazza. 🌳

3

09 Jun 2026 13:18:07
Red Robin, Bellingham a couple of years ago looked like he was going to be our world. Class game changer. I just don't think he's moved on; he looks like a plodder these days, predictable, no pace, ineffective, very disappointing.

3

09 Jun 2026 13:21:23
Bellingham is a very talented player, but is not a great team player. He's made the mistake of starting to believe his own publicity, and that his team mates are beneath him.
Certainly plays with a face like a slapped arse. Ando is well ahead of him in terms of skill, workrate and professionalism imo.

5

09 Jun 2026 13:25:41
Agreed, mate, he is, and will only get better.

3

09 Jun 2026 14:09:55
We'll see, gentlemen. 87 appearances in the last 3 seasons for Real, 34 goals, 18 assists, not bad from midfield, and bear in mind, this season he didn't play a lot of football. So should be fresher than most. His returns beat Palmer and Foden hands down, MGW maybe not, but heyho, I think we all agree he should be ahead of Rogers (MGW that is).

Yes, he looks like he could do with a kick up the backside most of the time, but im guessing that's why the likes of Henderson has been picked. And I really can't see the likes of Kane, Rice, Anderson and Saka putting up with a half throttle Bellingham. 🌳

4

09 Jun 2026 17:11:54
Palmer has been injured and is not fit. Foden has been rubbish all season, and has never done anything special for England anyway. The only one who should be there is MGW rather than Eze.

4

09 Jun 2026 19:28:49
I agree, Oakham. Palmer and Foden being left at home is the correct decision after their respective seasons.

I don't live near Nottingham, and people where I drink all say that MGW should have been on the plane; seems just about everyone apart from the manager.

However, I don't think we can really take too much from these pointless friendlies and judge the team on them. It's just about acclimatising, and no one wants to get injured now.

2

09 Jun 2026 20:35:39
Remember Dele Alli. He started just like Bellingham for a number of years, but faded badly.

3

09 Jun 2026 21:04:13
One of our only hopes, I don't get it?

2

09 Jun 2026 21:40:22
Comparing Dele Alli to Bellingham is a bit like comparing Andre Silenzi to Harry Kane. 🀣

4

09 Jun 2026 22:02:14
Bowie, I don't either mate, just some people don't have a good word to say about anyone. 🌳

3

09 Jun 2026 22:09:26
I would imagine that when Bellingham smashed in his 95th minute overhead at the last Euros, these guys booed. 😏🌳

4

09 Jun 2026 22:10:10
Oakham, look at his record when he was same age.
Bellingham, I believe, will be one of the greats though. Had an injury-hit season, that's all.

0

09 Jun 2026 23:17:57
I have to admit that international football bores the pants off me. I can do 20 minutes or so and then find my next DIY job around the house far more interesting....

Roll on next season to watch proper football.

2

10 Jun 2026 11:29:04
Well, you say that Lego, but Cabo Verde v. Saudi Arabia plus Ghana. V Panama should be belters, mate.

1

10 Jun 2026 13:33:35
Cape Verde and Ghana are decent, Stokey. Both have talent in their ranks, not world beaters but easily capable of an upset or two. 🌳

1

10 Jun 2026 17:31:41
You've picked some belters there.
Brazil v Morocco Sat eve at 11pm actually does look really good. I can't believe Friday eve's game, dear oh dear. :(

0

08 Jun 2026 22:36:38
I see West Ham have no boat to float now.
Checkmate to the porn magnet. πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

4

09 Jun 2026 00:53:14
Did you read that in the Daily Sport? 🀣🌳

4

09 Jun 2026 22:37:34
Do they still do razzle winter?
Just a question?

0

10 Jun 2026 00:26:12
Considering i had to google it, no lol, i wasn't born in the Stone Age. We have Internet now, check it out, every perversion is catered for, even for someone like you. 🀣 🌳

3

10 Jun 2026 10:56:40
I'll take your word for it, Winter. πŸ˜‚
