So an away day down in Birmingham is on the horizon, hoping Villa are leggy after the midweek Champions League game. They definitely looked brighter going forward vs Brugge, going to be a hard away trip as it always is in Aston. Our lads have had a whole weeks rest and a time together on the training ground. In OG we trust, COYR. ?

Agree3 Disagree0

11 Sep 2026 11:15:42
Always a tough game there been a long time since we took 3 points from there. but hopefully tired legs players out through injury. And our lads getting use to the new system we will take 3 points uredddssss Uredddssss.

11 Sep 2026 12:22:27
Good time to play Villa, there in flux at the moment with losing key players, contending with European games, Glasner has had a full week to drill his style of play into the team, so can only see an away win.

11 Sep 2026 12:31:46
Draw written all over it, unless Delap on Fire.

11 Sep 2026 14:05:36
3-1 win and delap hat trick ?.

11 Sep 2026 16:17:39
Do you see what you just posted Bsred mate???
"Draw" written all over it"
???.

11 Sep 2026 19:57:30
Mossy, mate, I know what you mean by Villa. being in flux but, with 5 managers in a year, we are in a permanent state of it under this owner.

11 Sep 2026 20:23:32
I agree with you Stokey. I still have no idea why Big M got rid of VP when we were going along so well.

11 Sep 2026 20:50:35
I agree about Vitor should have been given a chance, had echos of the Sean O'Driscoll sacking. Know we have Glasner who's very ambitious and I'm sure Forest to him is the stepping stones to where he thinks he should be, hopefully at the same time he will bring us success, and as for Villa, he's never lost to them, I think.?.

11 Sep 2026 21:24:53
Perfectly summed-up Mossy. I think that the uncomfortable truth is that Glasner will be gone much before the state of stability our great club needs is reached.

If he is successful - he'll be poached by one of the 'big boys' (which I sense is probably Glasner's end-goal). If he is unsuccessful - Big M will drop him like a hot potato. Either way, I see the status-quo of constant managerial changes continuing I'm afraid.

11 Sep 2026 21:49:56
Is it not an ambition for any manager or player to reach a top level in any sport? as long as they do a good job for us in the mean time. That's what we want same as a owner we wouldn't be where we are without maranakis and his many faults, but he wants Forest to be the best.

If you dont like who owns the club and the money he pours into it, do what gazzi does, go watch non league football.

11 Sep 2026 22:44:52
Of course I love the money that Big M throws into our club Skegs. However, I feel that he is wasting a load of this money through poor managerial/recruitment appointments and his own impatience to achieve success. BTW I notice he's sacked the most recent Olympiacos coach after just 7 games.

I guess Big M is a 'double-edged sword' - both the saviour and the demon of Forest at the same time.

12 Sep 2026 04:54:59
Mr Marinnakis at the moment must be spending a fortune on insurance in getting his oil tankers around the Straight of Harmuz, 200 millions on a new stadium in Greece, start to finish in 18 months!, he has a lot of clout in Greece. Now his experience with NCC who see him as a cash cow, and make him jump through hoops since 2019, hope he doesn't just call it a day with Nottingham and sells up, instead of when his tenure is over, we have a new City Ground and permanent status in the Premier.

12 Sep 2026 09:50:40
Don't think you're far off mossy, as I understand it they want him to pay for a new bridge for the supporters, But it must be wide enough for cyclists!. Well the last one cost 19mil and took 4 years to build so a new one would be around 30 plus.

12 Sep 2026 09:52:37
The money our Mr M puts into NFFC is a tiny fraction of his total wealth and he gets a lot back from it, financial and publicity wise.

It's pure speculation on your part that we wouldn't be in the Premiership without him. Who knows, a different and more sensible owner might have us as an established top 4 side, who knows ? No one can say.

My ancestors, myself and my descendants are Forest through and through and ( whilst not being blessed with our owners billions) have proportionately contributed via season tickets etc, merchandise etc.

My family were supporters before he arrived and will still be supporters when he's gone.
As for your statement that if we don't like the owner, should clear off and watch non league, well, I leave others to come to their own conclusions on that one. So, we can't criticise the owner when he makes his numerous gaffes? Or disagrees with you?

12 Sep 2026 11:15:43
In my comment stokie, it did say Mr M. with his many faults. And it's not your money he his spending trying to get us to be a top Premier league club. anyway have a great day living the glasner mr m forest dream.

12 Sep 2026 12:00:13
Where does my season ticket money go to then Skeggs? And the merch?
Have a great day too. Hope it's not raining on your Parade mate.?.

12 Sep 2026 12:13:10
Never rains on my parade stokie your season ticket money goes to the cleaning lady probably pays 1 week of her wages would you like her to thank you ??.

12 Sep 2026 12:57:10
A bit more than that over the years mate.
But your comment shows me ( and others ) 2 things about you.
Firstly you have no idea of a proper job and the wages appertaining to it and secondly about the dignity of labour.

12 Sep 2026 13:38:04
Have a listen to a great song by Deacon Blue mate called " Dignity”.

12 Sep 2026 13:45:59
Stokie you seem to think I care what you or others you would like to get involved think of me. I dont ?? im living the dream pal ?.

10 Sep 2026 18:29:10
I haven't posted for a while but still look occasionally and tbh the site is shocking now. Completely ruined by a few posters who are either self promoting or trying very hard to portray themselves as superior to others. There's always going to be a few disagreements and arguments and that's one of the things that made the site worth looking at but once the comments were more about people's everyday life or what literature they read the football site just died.

If people had read the room it would still be ticking over nicely. Some decent, knowledgeable football fans have been ridiculed whilst others have quoted tosh to explain how a team won or lost a game of football.

Agree8 Disagree0

10 Sep 2026 21:14:21
2tone it died ages ago as a Forest football site mate, we lost a lot of good posters over the years,

10 Sep 2026 22:53:25
Good to see you post again 2 Tone. I've been reading your posts for a long time now - well before I even became a member of this site. I've always thought that you talk a lot of sense.
There is, however, nothing wrong with people defending themselves when others take it beyond Forest banter and turn it into personal rebukes on other individuals on here.

Should those under personal attack just roll-over and accept that? I won't. (Stevie will get it from his past.).
We all love Forest. End of. Maybe now a certain person has left, things will now get back to 'normal' on here. I hope so.

10 Sep 2026 22:55:24
I really miss Creepy's posts. His post-match analyses were addictive reading.

10 Sep 2026 22:16:10
I blame thatcher and Trump ?.

11 Sep 2026 00:03:21
Good to hear from you again, 2 tone. I can't be bothered anymore either. Perhaps I'll change and post if things get back to how they were. Some posters now are just too full of themselves, nobody loves a know it all.

11 Sep 2026 09:07:08
"What does he know of cricket, who only cricket knows?” I'm sure CLR James would include football and all team sports in that.

The best way to move forward on this imo is to respectfully request our long suffering Ed to organise a poll and resolve things through good old democracy.

A simple poll. perhaps along the lines of
. " This site's posts should consist of
A. Strictly football only posts or
B Football and other posts.

Also with a seperate question
A Personal remarks should be banned
B Personal remarks should be allowed

? What do you think ?

11 Sep 2026 10:08:38
B and A.

11 Sep 2026 05:46:50
I agree 2tone, though most posters are ok there is one in particular who says things from behind the anonymity of a keyboard that he wouldn't dare says to my face.
I attend matches like he does, offered to meet him many times to straighten things out.

But he never will. The site was a laugh (yes even you skegs) ?? but not anymore. I rarely post now, one person about ruined it for everyone and we all know who it is.

11 Sep 2026 09:28:28
There is other posts stokie. That's what the discussion page is supposed to be for but isn't getting used properly. and no point having polls posters abuse the tick box just saying.

{Ed033's Note - It seems posters leave because of the Personal remarks. On the other football sites, they talk 95%+ about football.

On this site it's different however, from now on we can have rumours on the Rumour page, football related content on the Banter page, non football related content on the Discussion page.

11 Sep 2026 10:41:46
I also assume that the Eds continue to have the final say on what makes it through to print and what doesn't? Or do we need a poll on that too?

{Ed033's Note - We don't need polls. This site was built for football fans/supporters to talk about Nottingham Forest/football with other football fans/supporters. We need Eds to have the final say on what gets posted to the pages.

11 Sep 2026 10:58:51
Eds, I take it that the issue about the manipulation of polls raised by Skegs can be controlled at your end mate ie one man one vote ?
Also, as I remarked to Larry, shall we leave it to the Eds ( men of wise and mature judgment) to decide which post goes where?

{Ed033's Note - The polls are one man one vote. If someone ticks multiple boxes, then they cancel out their one vote. The polls should be seen as a rough estimate anyway.

Yes, leave it to the Eds to decide where each post goes.

11 Sep 2026 11:49:31
Wow sounds like a court sitting ??.

11 Sep 2026 12:34:09
How do you know what a court sitting is like Skegs?

11 Sep 2026 12:42:53
Just using my imagination bsered ?.

11 Sep 2026 13:51:13
Very perceptive post BSE. I don't know if you've seen the wonderful romcom " When Harry Met Sally "?
Well, court was where Larry met Skeggy I'm sure mate.???.

11 Sep 2026 13:58:08
Stokey, after all the crap of the last days, after everything thats been said. why?

11 Sep 2026 14:01:00
Let it go stokie sometimes you just after admit your beaten ??.

11 Sep 2026 13:11:20
Fair enough Ed and thank you.
I guess if things don't change on here they will stay pretty much the same ?
Thanks also for allaying Skegs concerns about the voting process.

11 Sep 2026 18:58:54
Just to clarify Sleggs.
It's " have to”'not "after” mate
And the Ed has pointed out that your comment about pollsters abusing the tick boxes is entirely wrong and inaccurate.
Just saying.?.

11 Sep 2026 20:01:32
By the way.”beaten”? I didn't even know I was in any sort of competition mate. When did we kick off? ????.

11 Sep 2026 22:10:51
Maybe my memory is faltering again Stokey, but aren't you a Capricorn star sign? A stubborn goat who quite enjoys 'butting heads'.

11 Sep 2026 23:13:34
Red frog your post regarding DTP sounds a bit on the threatening side, please tell me I'm mistaken,

12 Sep 2026 05:16:07
Did not interact very much with DTP, but read his posts with interest, the ones before he was dragged into bickering debates, he had a opinion about Sels, Nuno and would have liked to see his opinion about Jesus, who he said would be a goal machine this season ( still time?), if the Eds banned him there's still a few agitators on here.

12 Sep 2026 05:19:11
That's the last thing you need to see, two Senior Citizens having a rumble, when they should be discussing where to get thermal underwear for the winter?.

12 Sep 2026 11:24:54
I'm afraid your memory is entirely accurate Lego. Capricorn it is. Honestly, if I had a tenner for every time my bosses put the phrase " doesn't brook fools easily " in staff appraisals I'd be as rich as our owner mate.

?
Did you know that Wellingtons nickname for the 45th Foot ( later Sherwood Foresters ) was " the Stubborns” after seeing them perform in all his great victories in the Peninsula Campaign ? ??.

09 Sep 2026 23:22:59
Jair Cunga called up to Brazil squad.

Agree8 Disagree0

10 Sep 2026 12:36:20
I’m not surprised Forest. He’s been our best central defender so far this season and the end of the last when he wasn’t injured He’s suited to OGs system rather than being stuck out at full back. Comfortable on the ball, dominant in the air, fairly quick and young. He will only get better.

10 Sep 2026 13:56:46
Have to agree mate, and when Murrilo gets himself fit, even better!!!

10 Sep 2026 15:22:27
Funny you should say that.

Someone was just saying it might be a kick up the arse for Murrilo. He has dropped off over the last 12 months. Hopefully inspire him back to his best, whatever it takes.

10 Sep 2026 15:53:46
Don't be too hard on him Forest, mate. I once went out to get our washing in and found that Murillo had already cleared it off the line.????.

10 Sep 2026 16:27:37
Wouldn't say a year mate?
Very funny Stokie!

10 Sep 2026 17:14:39
Very quick.?

Its the best part of a year.

Just doesn't seem able to sustain a decent run of form.

For me previous to that he was our best player for 2 seasons.

Has been sloppy so far this season. Cunha has outshone him. Hopong a bit of internal rivalry will help him kick on.

10 Sep 2026 17:40:38
Maybe,win! win!

10 Sep 2026 18:57:12
Thats what I'm hoping for.

11 Sep 2026 04:42:53
I've been saying Murillo is bang average for years, now it's coming home to roost. Prone to errors in vital situations & very sloppy of late.

11 Sep 2026 06:19:05
Think like me you got up way too early Larry!!!???
You must have been dreaming about him!!!?
I'm going back to bed,and when I get up again,I fully expect you to see the error of your sleep depraved ways!!!
???.

11 Sep 2026 12:33:26
??? job done Rogie. Awesome player, won't have a word said against him ?.

09 Sep 2026 21:41:20

Compare Danny Welbeck's finishing in tonight's cup tie with the finishing of Igor Jesus. No comparison, I'm afraid. Obvious why we're struggling to get goals and wins.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Sep 2026 00:22:06

Whoever tried to compare Igor with Welbeck?

10 Sep 2026 13:24:54
Jesus isn't our 1st choice number 9.

10 Sep 2026 13:57:36
I know mate,he's our "False no 9!!!"
???.

09 Sep 2026 21:05:42
A post about football not each other coming up (I know, some of you aren't interested in silly old footy).

Chelsea are losing to Leeds.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Sep 2026 22:58:58

Wow! Didn't watch the second half, unfortunately. It was Chelsea 0-2 Leeds at half time and I checked out. ?

10 Sep 2026 05:13:05

A fixture like this takes me back to where I first got into Football. Every team had a Chopper Harris or Norman "bite your legs" character. There was at least one player in a team who had three front teeth missing. The sports scientist was a bloke in baggy shorts running on the pitch with a galvanised bucket with cold water and sponge! And the only player who wore gloves was the goalie! Good old days. I wonder. ?

10 Sep 2026 07:46:30

So Alonso sussed Leeds out in the second half then, 6 goals scored with just one reply. Forest should have done Leeds the same way, but the results stand as they are.

Ndoye wanted by Man United now, so what do they see in him? Maybe the lad just doesn't want to be at Forest now!!!

10 Sep 2026 10:07:57
Chelsea look awesome going forward, Rogers, Palmer, Neto and Pedro are a delight to watch. ?

10 Sep 2026 17:20:41
Really, Redtrree.

Tell him I will drive him there.

09 Sep 2026 19:33:00
Never from Nottingham, my good old ma from North Shields, the da from London. I went to Toon matches from maybe 14 yr old. Always with my school mates. (Social club for my dad) bless him ish. Mother bless, just never stopped working. Anyway, learnt the trade from watching from the back as a keeper. Seen so many schoolkid errors throughout the leagues and players, hence Taylor/Clough. Could not believe the simplicity yet rewarding results. So ended up arguing the reality of the game. Next minute, yup Forest fan. And it really is that simple (like the game). I know Reds, all changed now with overpaid players, players unions, agents, Sky etc etc. Brought my kids up. Oldest played very good level. Scouted. Youngest played alongside Anderson, Wallsend Boys. Taught them to respect me on the line. Secondly their manager. As we all know tried my best to make em Forest fans (oldest btw been to a few with me) but always Toon bless em. Again youngest coaching for the Toon. And got my oldest into the waterboard, taking off where I left. (just been finished) health issues obviously. I really really see football for what it is, and the sins alongside it. Not here to knock it. We all know best way of keeping the young fit and not turning to the streets. You know what I mean. But Reds this as me as an older dad/grandad. Just saying.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Sep 2026 19:54:45

For me atm, Fred hit the nail on the head. Playing wingers without pace, sorry to say and not enough skill will never work. I hate it tbh. And managers shipped on with their past predictions make it worse. You need heart, Reds, and a coach to fire it. Regretfully I just see us pi$$ing against the wind. Just my opinion.

09 Sep 2026 20:34:11

At this moment in time, I agree Bowie.

Great earlier post btw.

09 Sep 2026 22:44:31

Thank ya the diamond my friend. Gonna leave the site for a good while. It's the old if you ain't got anything good to say then don't say it. So I'm as guilty as. Take care the lot of ya. And remember never take them close to you for granted. Make an effort. ❤️ FTID.

Thanks Ed. Good reading as usual mate.
Look forward to catching up with the Ndoye/ Tonali battle as described and the match as a whole.
An interesting start to the season generally. Excellent point about the role reversal at Forest under Glasner and Palaces new boss

{Ed001's Note - it has been a very interesting start to the new season. Arsenal look like they are going to grind their way to another title though at the moment.}

09 Sep 2026 17:22:09
Away from football matters...
I just happen to be watching the quite brilliant "The African Queen ". (3rd time!!)

09 Sep 2026 18:45:57
Rogie, don't mention Queen to Stokie mate. You'll get him all excited again. ?

09 Sep 2026 18:57:00

Rogie, mate, my second favourite Bogart film after “Casablanca” but before (just) “The Big Sleep”. Nobody does the hard-bitten tough guy with a big tender and passionate heart than Bogie.

Apart from our own Bowie on here of course!

Great film! ??

09 Sep 2026 19:18:50
It really is superb, two absolute legends at their brilliant best from a bygone Era.

08 Sep 2026 23:12:47
I feel thankful that due to this site I have met up in person with great people like Stokey, McGovern and Carlo. Telling, though, that this site has lost the other two apart from Stokey.

I'm not a bitter nor a resentful person - but I do wonder how many posters have felt the need to leave this forum due to the 'bitchy element'? Personally, I think DTP was the chief instigator and I'm glad he's gone.

Agree6 Disagree0

09 Sep 2026 01:48:12
True, Lego, but with DTP, I always found the gloves were off, he'd give it with his handbag, then I'd give him both barrels, but his skin was as thick as his personality. ??

09 Sep 2026 10:37:18
Don't agree, Lego. DTP had his options, but I find that refreshing, & at least when he spoke about football, it was with good knowledge. Nobody had more tussles with him than me, but I never lost any sleep.

It's a banter site, & I enjoyed our exchanges, & I'm sure he did. Some folk take life too seriously. If you want to talk politics, Shakespeare, & charities, etc., there's a discussion section for that. Lighten up, mate.

09 Sep 2026 11:36:58
Bowie and Lego, the voices of reason and worldly wisdom as always.
I found some of the posts from the usual suspects a bit tiresome but it’s like water off a ducks back to me, as you’ve previously pointed out Bowie. Some of the latter stuff, as I remarked was a bit creepy and stalkerish but when put into the context of my proper job ( when, for example,I had professional enforcers after me for some months before me and my team got them potted) then it’s pretty amateurish and lightweight tbh.

Larry, just a suggestion from your post above, mate, shall we leave it to Ed where to put posts on this site?. Ed 1 and his colleagues usually know what they’re doing ?
Moving forward, after this post, I undertake to be a bit more diplomatic in my responses….after all, like DDS, you can’t cure stupid ….
Over and out ……….( apart from the core function on here, which is football and the progress of our famous club) ……?

09 Sep 2026 17:45:31
Lego not quite sure why you’re talking about DTP he’s been gone weeks, at one time of day this used to be a Forest football site, not sure what you would call it now, we’re all grown men on here, so called ‘ bitching and bullying are two words I wouldn’t expect to be used.

09 Sep 2026 21:59:06
Stevie, read down bud. Tried everything. But I admit I get drawn into it.

10 Sep 2026 12:43:47
I'm not sure about his football knowledge and acumen at times tbh. I think DTP lost a lot of credibility on here when he came up with the ludicrous idea that a certain manager ( he that cannot be named. Get thee behind me Satan.) caused Murillo's "season ending injury" by playing him at left wing back in a Europa tie.

Another one on here who never let the facts confuse him once he'd made his mind up. But let's not be bitchy or bullying. He had a nice garden.

08 Sep 2026 19:39:44
Could someone plz tell me how Carlos doing these days, know he hasn't come back as he always called me Mr B ? Nah but seriously. Always had time for the laddie. Met him few times. Legend.
Secondly, plz plz the lot of ya stop pouring into stokey, and stokey bud.

Your football analysis is sometimes brilliant. It's the history of Hitler's wrongun etc and the Cleopatra's wet wipes they tear into ya. Just saying. But on stokey lately it's almost bullying reds. Won't see it with anyone on here. Well progressively.
Now let's reset and get on.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Sep 2026 21:40:54
Stokie bullying what you on, Bowie ??. Like he said in a previous comment, fact, as he likes to say, if you can't take it, don't give it, that goes for everyone.

08 Sep 2026 21:53:21
Jay, my friend, isn't about to and fro. And, you know it. It's about calling a halt on us all and getting back to the odd gesture and football. Skegs, the Forest sites tumbling, can't ya see it? Never here to try and rule it. Only to be there for all of ya.

08 Sep 2026 22:08:08
I've got through the last 12 to 14 years on here without any halts like a few on here. It's a banter site, and not everyone agrees with everything, and that's what the site's about; else there would never be one. I like Glasner. Larry doesn't. dtp liked Cooper, I didn't.

Rogie likes everyone, I don't. Carlo used to wind everyone up, same as Rhr with his commentary in-between, but do I still like them? Yes, I do. Because they say what they believe in. Do I like Stokie? Yes, I think he needs a cuddle though, lol. Let it be what it is, a banter site. ?

08 Sep 2026 22:32:05
And I blame VP for losing the semi last season. If we had European football this season, you lot would have something else to moan about. ?

08 Sep 2026 22:59:31
Oh, I forgot Baldy and my best friend, Stevie, the incredible sulk. ?

08 Sep 2026 22:24:35
To be fair i agree with Skegs, yeah several of us can take it to the edge of whats right and whats wrong. But we have Eds to police us, just because Stokey insults us more eloquently, it doesn't mean its not insulting.
And i agree with Skegs again, twice in one reply, a new record for the donkey humping gypo?.

I also don't have a problem with anyone here, i have to admit i even miss DTP(shh don't tell him please).
After the blasting i got from a certain poster about apparently disrespecting our ancestors, which i didn't by the way and never would. Maybe the neighbourhood watch should button it. ??

09 Sep 2026 13:01:56
A joke or banter if funny. The same joke/topic for an entire day and three threads is tedious.
