Perhaps it was just me that missed this and it has been posted before here. regarding panel who judge ref/ VAR decisions. They are former England goalkeeper Robert Green; former England striker Karen Carney; former Republic of Ireland striker Jonathan Walters; his fellow former Ireland international Steven Reid, most recently a coach at Nottingham Forest; and former coach and Wimbledon manager Terry Burton. Source The Guardian 29th March 2024.we lost to Liverpool on 2nd March so seems strange Stephen Reid would be on that panel after his language against the officials!

Toffolo and Omabamadele not good enough at Premier League level. Danilo? Who knows if he'll turn up - don't trust him. Chris Wood unfortunately has hit a brick wall and was terrible last week. Agree Awoniyi should play if he's fit. Yates must play to put the wind up players like Cole Palmer who doesn't always turn up in Chelsea away games. Montiel is a good player with experience at high level.

Agree with some of that redhotred but montiel has been terrible.

10 May 2024 10:27:16
Fair comment Skegs but Montiel is an international player who might raise his game against other internationals and South American players? Would definitely play Nuno Tavares if he's fit - I like him and a strong, physical player who can run and get forward. šŸ‘.

Apparently Nuno is the highest paid manager in our history.
Hopefully that will change in the summer- surely? šŸ¤£.

That's usually how pay grades work RedFrog šŸ˜….
Pay moves with the times. The next manager will be likely be on even more.
Did you expect Nuno to be on less than Hughton and Lamouchi years after they were employed?

Congratulations to Olympiacos, apparently the first Greek club side to reach any European final. Also it took Maranakis 10 years of investment to achieve this and Mendelibar is their 4th coach of the season. The man is insane in his ambition.
The final will be played at AEK Athens ground, so victory would be even sweeter, fingers crossed.

Still a way to go then with Forest enjoy the ride he got us into the premier now if we stay up he can pursue European football but who and how many coaches will it the bin first has fans you won't be bothered if and how he succeeds because we are fickle and just want success.

If there are to be some sort of celebrations tomorrow evening with Ryan diving in the Trent we will have to be cautious. Looking back on the Forest players reaction to the semi final shoot out win over the Blades with Samba mobbed by a group. If you look at the footage closely you see a player running hard to jump on the huddle. At the crucial moment they move slightly and the airborne player falls off the side. Buster Keaton stuff indeed! The player?

Munmad always said the three that came up would go down
If it wasn't for points deducted for us and Everton they'd be down already
Don't want to jinks it but Burnley don't beat spurs and they are gone?
Realistically gone already with their goal difference
Luton lose?
Then the game against Chelsea becomes irrelevant
It's a case of thanks sky for picking us as the live game?

09 May 2024 20:55:20
I'm definitely recording the Chelsea game, just to see Sky talking about nothing because Luton lose and Burnley fail to win before we play.
Job done.
No relegation decider on the last day.
Stuff Sky and their meddling.

Just a few thoughts regarding Saturday.
Both Spurs and West Ham can be a bit flakey but I'm hoping, firstly, the Hammers can do us a good turn in their last home game of the season and give David Moyes, for all his faults, a good send off and secondly for Spurs to put Burnley out of their misery and fight for a European football place.
Depending on these results, we should be wary of the threat Chelsea pose at the moment and we don't want our 11 and 17 goal difference eroding if we lose. We've seen them put 6 past Everton and 5 past West Ham in recent weeks. I think I'd be detailing Yates to shadow Cole Palmer through whom everything comes. I read somewhere that he's played 30 Premiership games, scored 21 goals and 9 assists which is some record. Plus they have a very expensively assembled young squad which, unfortunately for us, is coming together under Poch just in time for Saturday!

Legless mate, a point would be pure gold and enough to keep us up. The nightmare scenario would be for Luton to nick a point at West Ham and us having to go to Burnley needing a win or draw.

But I predict (tin hat on here) Spurs 3 Burnley 0
West Ham 3 Luton 1
Forest 2 Chelsea 3, but weā€™ll all be pi**ed and in the Trent with Yatesy long before then!?
Coyr!

West ham to win 2 nil and spurs to win 3 nil for me.

10 May 2024 09:44:13
Fair enough Legless. If Yates can nullify Cole Palmer we have a good chance.
I remember back in the early days of Cloughies reign when we played Arsenal All Stars at the City Ground. First half Liam Brady ran the show completely and we went in 1 nil down at HT, second best by a long way.
For all the Masters braggadocio about ā€œ Here at Forest we don't worry about our opponents, we let them worry about usā€ at the start of the 2nd he put Martin O Neill tight on Brady and, with his tremendous engine, he just ran him into the ground and we won 2 v 1.
Of course we lost MONs threat on the right side of midfield but everything came through Robbo on the other side anyway! Tactical genius as always! šŸ˜šŸ¤šŸ‘.

Thatā€™s our best 11 Iā€™d say and if we stay up wow some big changes needed because itā€™s a very poor team to try and compete at this level.

At this stage though Iā€™d have Yates in the team, should we retain our status sangare, Danilo (sad as he looked like a decent prospect last year ) and Dominguez (especially) need replacing.

I'd love to see Worrall brought back and played alongside Murillo next season (if we can keep the latter. ). I think the two could compliment each other really well. What do you think Munmad?

Nowt wrong with danillo he's only 21 aswell, never had you down as a doom and gloomer 2 star
Dominguez is also a very good pkayer
Both far better than Yates
We can't play another season with Yates in our midfield.

Bring Worrall back you have clearly had a few drinks or you have heat stroke.

Again reading reports consideration being given to the possibility of leaving the CG and moving to a new 50, 000 seater stadium. What's everybody's thoughts on this? On the one hand sometimes a tired stadium needs to be left in the history books and you move on. Also there is the ability or lack of ability to expand and build bigger stands due to housing, shops businesses being in the way. Take Leicester their old cow shed stand at Filbert street you used to have to enter between 2 houses and were surrounded by streets houses ect. On the other hand a new stadium loses that unique atmosphere takes away some of that charm especially for the romantics amongst us. Look at Arsenal, Highbury the stands were virtually on top of the pitch creating that authentic atmosphere and the Emirates still doesn't feel the same. But is it a case of move with the times or fall too far behind the rest
I love the CG just not sure a move would be a good thing.

Agree0 0Disagree

09 May 2024 13:50:51
Yes I saw that article, looking for a place big enough for the academy as well. Toton fits bill so does the embankment but city council owns that. I just worry about a move, you only have to look at the mess Everton are in over Bramley dock. Forest were offered land opposite lings Barr roundabout on the a52, the council yard. I donā€™t understand why mr m hasnā€™t made a offer to buy the city ground, after all they own all of the houses around the bridge ford end, theyā€™ve been buying them up for years.

Agree0 0Disagree

09 May 2024 13:55:39
Bin the city ground off. Its a dump awkward to get to, no where to park
Don't own the land. Its a car crash of a set up.
Get down Toton and build a proper ground šŸŽˆ.

Can we really afford a new ground, upwards of half a billion pounds, where does that leave the club with sustainable rubbish. the establishment will love that. We posted yesterday about the cost of lively hoods when clubs go down. The same can be said if a club moves, there are a lot of pubs and bars around the city ground that do well when we're at home.

Agree0 0Disagree

09 May 2024 20:48:08
Donā€™t look anywhere in the city- the council wonā€™t play ball. County council may be different. We discussed Gamston some years ago but that hasnā€™t really got the infrastructure to handle the traffic. Itā€™s bad enough there during rush hour.

Agree0 0Disagree

09 May 2024 20:49:15
Thank god for that, our ground is a complete tip after years of no investment under ND and fawaz. Itā€™s a very poor experience. Anfield and villa park prove that it can be done without moving but we just donā€™t have the wherewithal. To be honest when big M triumphantly trumpeted ā€¦ā€¦ā€˜this will be our home foreverā€™ ā€¦ā€¦you somehow knew it wouldnā€™t be!

10 May 2024 07:05:27
Cooper is free to find another club. DTP. He isn't being paid off as he has been sacked and not put on 'gardening leave'.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - that isn't how it works in football, he will still be being paid up for his contract.}

10 May 2024 07:50:31
Thats right ed1 but still free to sign a new contract for a club like west ham and palace who at one point he was favourite to takeover.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - no, he would have to negotiate a pay-off to take another job or give up the remaining money left. So not free, as it would cost him a huge sum. He was never in the running for the Palace job.}

10 May 2024 08:15:58
I know he wasn't in the run for the palace job or any other premiership job just others thought he was I'm sure he will be back in the championship soon with a team that has a chance of top 6.

Potter hasn't took a job yet because he's above himself and thinks he's entitled to wait for a top job I'm sure if any of the top 4 jobs had been offered to him he would be there like a shot but proved he's not up to a big job and won't be offered one.

Sometimes canā€™t believe what I read on here. As soon as any manager, no matter how mediocre, is sacked thereā€™s a general mood to sign him up. I think we have collective inherited Greek Marinakis managerial merry go round syndrome.
Wouldnā€™t touch Moyes with a barge pole myself. Only ever won one Micky Mouse Europa Trophy in 25 years of management often at well resourced established top tier clubs. Thereā€™s a reason West Ham have had him replaced comrades
So letā€™s give our heads a wobble and at least give Nuno a pre season and a chance to make his mark.
Especially when you consider the disadvantages he faces which are none of his making ie poor recruitment, lack of planning for AFCON, FFP breach, large unwieldy squad etc.
SC had similar problems which he eventually succumbed to but thatā€™s for another day ā€¦.
