I read with interest the different opinions of Yates. Yes he bleeds Forest and he's Forest through and through. But aren't most Forest fans.
Some times Yates is good other times he's very poor. But whether he's very poor or very good he always gives 100%. I wish a few of the other members of the team would do the same. We all know who they are. We all have our own opinions. that's the beauty of being a football fan.
My feelings at the moment we have been let down by Maranaskas who I believe has ripped apart the good feeling that was running through the club.
What happened with Nuno and him we will never no.
But my view is I really think the new coach is the wrong man for this club. I know it's only 2 games but he doesn't inspire me one bit.
If he succeeds I will be the first to own up I was wrong. Not really looking forward to this coming season at all. But I will still be there every game as I said I bleed Forest through and through/.

Yates is not the most technically gifted of players but like you say he leaves nothing on the pitch. Always gives his all and always fully committed.

19 Sep 2025 14:08:43
That's why when it comes to Forest you have to enjoy the good moments, last season was mega to stay in the prem with all the recent upheaval will do for me I've seen and had some wonderful times since the 60s but fully understand the younger fans want more and they have every right to ask for it but this is Forest and their way is the hard way ENJOY BEING A FAN OF THE GREATEST TEAM I OUR WORLD ?????.

19 Sep 2025 14:15:42
Who would be a right man for the job. Would they want it whilst being publicly scrutinised and micro managed by the owner?

I for one was looking forward to a mouth watering season ahead and am still hopeful. Personally I thought Nuno earned another season after last season and looking at the fixtures ahead I feel he made good choices not making wholesale changes to unsettled and untested new players at the club.

19 Sep 2025 16:14:53
I'd give 100% for Forest, can shoot better than Gibbs-White and wouldn't try crazy flicks on the edge of the penalty area. I'd also be able to make a tackle without holding onto the other player in front of the ref and I wouldn't give the ball to the opposition 2 seconds into a cup game. But I'm still not good enough to play for Forest.

Hopefully, Gibbs-White and Yates have the character to prove their critics wrong.

Just saying.

19 Sep 2025 17:29:48
A wee ambitious evaluation of yourself there cyclist, peddling is a bit different from this football lark. ??.

19 Sep 2025 18:31:11
Makes me laugh when fans say who would want the job with marinakis?
Trust me they will be queuing up
Do you think mourinho ever controlled what went on at chelsea or anchalotti at Madrid, it's modern football and they are coaches not managers and if it doesn't work out they know they get a golden handshake.

19 Sep 2025 18:34:23
DTP Mr M is the best owner in the prem, his ambition is absolute. Long live the King. ?.

19 Sep 2025 18:53:11
I might have ambition but he needs leaving the coaching to the coaches. I wonder what clough would of made of him ? ??.

19 Sep 2025 18:55:50
All I know winter is that he's the only owner we've had with any ambitions
Pays our debts, no loans, trying to buy the freehold and build a bigger stadium and got us to the premier abd Europe, if anyone is pissed off with that, then you'll never be happy as a forest fan.

19 Sep 2025 19:40:43
Look around us DTP, i think we're in the minority on this subject. Must be those magic mushrooms you've been growing, were bloody good though, a week later and my dogs still got a Spanish accent???.

19 Sep 2025 19:43:19
Yeah, what ambitious coach would want to coach the 14th most valuable squad in World football?

Seriously? ??.

19 Sep 2025 20:07:34
Some really don't have a clue cyclist, its better to just laugh and smile. ??.

19 Sep 2025 20:24:32
Winter been growing tobacco plants this year, got them all over the garden front and back
They look stunning and easy to grow outdoors, all different colours.

19 Sep 2025 20:57:59
Fair enough, looking forward to this rain that's incoming, should finally put out the wildfires up on the moors. Up there on Tuesday morning and the peat is still smouldering, fooking unexploded WW2 shells dumped up there. Literally shat me pants when one went and was a mile away??.

19 Sep 2025 22:30:45
It's not stopped coming this month winter, my captive fish are loving it
I'll send you a picture on how well they've done, lawns like bowling greens, water barrels all connected time for a water meter ???.

19 Sep 2025 23:02:46
Nah been dryer than a nuns crotch up this way, planted about 200 saplings along upper tees over the summer most are struggling atm, bring on the monsoon?.

19 Sep 2025 12:41:10
I've been reading down some of the comments regarding the manager and his ' start" 2 games, one away at Arsenal where we got exactly the same result as last year, and suffered the same fate as most teams will there, and an away league cup tie at Swansea where he made 10 changes like we did last season and ultimately suffered the same fate as last season, I thought we played some decent football at times, and some garbage at others, should we have won? of course but performances by Bakwa, Luiz, zinchenko, Jesus and Hutchinson give cause for optimism, I also think jair cunha will be a star, I'm not sold on Ange, but he needs to be given a run of games before he gets slaughtered,

Agree3 Disagree0

19 Sep 2025 13:49:28
Exactly mate??.

19 Sep 2025 13:54:09
I agree, Stevie. Give the bloke a chance. I know some think that Nuno was trying to get sacked (I'm not totally sure that's the case) but I don't think he should've been sacked for answering a question. Like yourself I'm not inspired by the appointment but we need to see how it'll pan out in terms of results and performances before jumping on his back. COYR.

19 Sep 2025 16:11:07
Yes, I agree. And I also think that Jair Cuhna is exactly the right kind f signing and will be good for Forest. But young players will make mistakes so give him and Savona time.

Picture a team with two Brazilian ball playing CBs both completely settled in a couple of years playing for the title. Cuhna and Murillo could be that pairing. They could also win the world cup with Brazil if things go right for them both.

I just don't know whether people think sometimes. Brazil U20 International and World Club Cup playing players (Cuhna and Jesus) are unlikely to be useless. If some of the so-called fans destroy their confidence and they go and have a great career elsewhere, how ridiculous would it be?

19 Sep 2025 12:35:17
Last week you lot were all saying Jesus looked like he'd be no good. I wish people would stop writing off players based a the odd game or two.

Players have times off form. Some players take longer to settle than others.

Good signings according to people not so long ago:

Callum Huddson-Odoi: Off form now.

Morgan Gibbs-White: Mrs had a tough pregnancy with health issues. Has a new-born at home who mauy have health issues for all we know or his Mrs might not be recovered. Probably not able to sleep much. Off form. IS IT SURPRISING?

Aina: Looks like he over-trained to get back to fitness this summer and looked leggy. Now he's injured.

New players:

Igor Jesus: Loads of you were writing him off. He's OBVIOUSLY A GOOD PLAYER based on what he has done previously. Learning English as we speak. Now you've all seen what he can do he's flavour of the month again.

Written off by some on here previously:

Wood: People thought he was a waste of money and too old. Nearly won the Golden Boot!

Dominguez: People were saying he was a headless chicken with no end product. In fact he had by far the best stats for a number of key metrics of a midfield player IF PEOPLE BOTHERED TO LOOK.

Now Bowie and others are saying a lot of our new signings were panic buys or waste of money or whatever. Well how can you know at this stage? Wood had a couple of poor games and everyone wrote him off. Jesus was written off before he even started a game.

Next people are blaming Ange for results. He hasn't even picked his own first 11 yet and has only had 3 full days with the whole squad before Swansea.

Ange started against Swansea the players who needed minutes or to look at them (like most Prem bosses do in the cup) and we were 2-0 up with them so obviously wasn't an issue.

Was it Ange's substitutions that made us lose? Well he did actually bring on TWO FULL ENGLAND INTERNATIONALS and then we conceded 3 goals. AND ZINCHENKO who was player of the year at Man City and has 40 Champions League appearances and about 4 League titles to his name.

CHO and MGW are full internationals. Is anyone really criticising the boss for bringing of England internationals to see out a game against Championship opposition? Or for bringing on a title winning international with 40 champions league appearances?

REALLY?

And if the signings are so bad, then why were we winning with mostly new players, then went down when we brought in Nuno regulars?

GET REAL PEOPLE!

Great post Cyclist as Stevies above??.

19 Sep 2025 14:36:55
Cyclist I admit I am of that opinion about Jesus, BUT he took his goals well the other night, and he was in the right place at the right time, I don’t think him and woody can play together though. But I watch with interest to see how the team progresses, it’s going to be a period of transition of styles,

19 Sep 2025 16:31:43
Mgw full international, with lego?

19 Sep 2025 16:59:40
Cracking post Cyclist.
I'm of the " Nuno wanted out " opinion and prepared to Ange time to first, stabilise and then build on what we have.
Good luck to him.

19 Sep 2025 18:51:20
Mgw should be given some time off to sort his home life out, if the rumours are true, and I sincerely hope they're not, a new born child is quite enough to get your head around let alone a sick wife as well. As things are he's not helping his self nor Nottingham forest, we need 11 focused players on the pitch tomorrow not 10.

19 Sep 2025 18:57:07
Ange has more chance of winning the lottery than being in tge job by xmas. has for nuno wanting the sack he wanted what was best to build a team for Europe and do well in the league. Good on him for having his say and earning a decent pay off all the forest fans should be singing his name next week when they play I'm Europe his doing ?.

19 Sep 2025 19:17:20
I still think sangare is the real problem, he sits to deep is totally mobile and doesn't criss the halfway line, sliws the whole team down and I believe that to be also a factor in MGW having to play deeper to get on the ball where he's less effective
Anderson and luiz will create more freedom for MGW or anyone else playing 10 role, if we persist with sangare then results won't improve.

19 Sep 2025 19:45:13
Hooydonk that’s exactly the opposite to want nuno wanted, he said he wanted a small squad, well you can’t compete in Europe with a small squad,

19 Sep 2025 19:47:29
I love these predictions, Jay. Ange is bound to be here after Xmas after that one.

I remember you lot clamouring for Wilder when I suggested we should go for Cooper. The rest is history.

NOTE; Yes, that was a smug post. I meant that one. ?.

19 Sep 2025 19:51:32
And why do you only seem to pop up when I'm right? Bit weird! ?.

So ta bed.
The lot of ya just do not see what's happening.
Tearing into yates who btw, was significant on our getting to the premier, (or have you all forgot the winner) I haven't. Covid crippled me after that game.
Not only that the sun shone out his arse fighting for every ball while captaining our initial 1st stages to the premier. Lot of players looking up to him. One of the only players you could hear on the pitch. Ok ok wasn't blessed with skill. But bye his heart was on that badge. And still is. Something very rare in football reds these days. And f ck right off with that was then. because this is now. And believe me without your yates players your done. Look at mgw. Perfect example. And boly bless the laddie gets one run out. Obviously not match fit gets slated. But that's the way your munmads etc are they want results yesterday and don't give two hoots on what they've brought. Ticket holders pffft. More heart on my armchair. Before I go. I want ya all to go through that team and tell me players with heart for the badge. And ef you dtp with your that's the way it is these days. because it isn't. You make players feel wanted. And don't overplay them. Murrilo, milenkovic, sels, wood, williams. Anderson. Full stop. who would only touch the surface of yates heart for this club. Just wrong the lot of ya.

Agree4 Disagree0

19 Sep 2025 00:58:38
Very sobering words Bowie my friend, and yes your right. going through that team can't find anyone, the only other player I believe comes close is Williams. not and overly talented player but always gives it a go, and personally I think love's playing for forest.

19 Sep 2025 08:10:15
Eff you Bowie with, "I'm sick of everything about the club including the owner"
And I hate the premier league and money
You put what you like when it suits.

19 Sep 2025 08:15:35
Yates bleeds Forest. Not many you could say that about.

19 Sep 2025 08:36:52
Yes Bowie bizarre attitudes towards Yates after his commitment and energy to the club - first half against Swansea he and Luiz were comfortably running the game and he was getting forward. I can remember in Cooper's first season in the PL how Yates single handedly took on Brighton away with a superhuman performance and won a point when every other player was nowhere and we got a point. One of the best performances by a Forest player in the history of the club.

19 Sep 2025 08:51:03
I guess it’s all down to opinion Bowie. 100% nobody can question Yates heart and devotion to the club but he is one ugly footballer. His game is based on niggling little tackles, arms around other players and basically just being a hindrance to the opposition. I also cannot stand the way he falls over when shielding the ball.

One of the worst crimes in football imo is giving the ball away cheaply and he constantly does that creating more pressure. Yes it happens to other players but not as much as Yates. Times I’ve watched him break play up and then give the ball straight back to the opposition.

Just my opinion Bowie.

19 Sep 2025 14:04:19
Yates is like Marmite loath him or love him he always gives 100% each game.
He may not be the most skilled but for effort you can't fault him.
If every player played with the attitude and mantra of Yates Forest would be even greater.
Bowie bless him wearing his usual heart on his sleeve ❤️??.

19 Sep 2025 16:19:58
Erm dtp I did apologise to ya, but kettle and all that? One minute your on live chat saying everything is Rosie 2-0 up, what changes etc. Next your, game of two halves. Which is 90 minutes a coach should recognise surely. Just be careful. Especially your predictions.

19 Sep 2025 17:04:36
I like Yates, always have done but I don't want him in the team anymore.
The only reason he's even considered is because other, supposedly more talented players aren't doing their job. If they did, I don't think Yates would make the bench sadly.

19 Sep 2025 20:59:39
I sent that first thing this morning Bowie, then been busy.

18 Sep 2025 21:33:56

Doku is a top player mate, great goal, and it completed my Acca so even more beautiful to me ?.

18 Sep 2025 21:03:09
Boly Yates Sangare definitely won't feature in. Ange's plans and Gibbs White needs to be careful because he is no longer the star of the show Anderson is

Anderson Ndoye McAtee and Jesus can all play in the 10 role and he needs to seriously up his game as does Hudso Odoi.

Agree4 Disagree0

18 Sep 2025 22:22:39
I'd agree with that munmad
Bakwa looks a special talent as does cuhna
Hutchinson also and luiz will see off sangare and make a brilliant partnership with Anderson
I've always said sangare does not fit in and never will.

18 Sep 2025 22:50:16
Wow didn't know you were that well in munmad. Can you update on the rest of the season. Like your team updates.

19 Sep 2025 07:33:37
No need to be sarky Bowie they are just my opinions and observations

If you think Yates is worth his place in Postacogllus team going forward when he wants to progress the ball quickly through the midfield then that’s up to you.

19 Sep 2025 19:28:16
Sorry munmad, and proud of your following, home away games. ? again just my frustration sir.

18 Sep 2025 20:29:42

Well rashford soon put that tie to bed, good job lammal wasn't playing ??.

18 Sep 2025 18:11:08
If I'm not wrong burnley played 5 at the back against the scouse. Rumours say they are playing a front 5 against us ?.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Sep 2025 18:33:04
Because of the lack of creativity last night. I was watching mgw closely. Talk about lost school kid on a football field. And never really acknowledged his team mates. Just a wrongun. As if planted. Ok ok probably looking too much into it.
Boly never played since alongside Pearce. I said on live chat. Remember these games giving the academy a run out. Bless miss that fire from the young. Then thought to myself. Probably yates the last that actually played for us. The whole set up for me this season is panic buying, and beating chests. Doesn't get ya anywhere. We know this reds. Don't get me wrong. Amazing buys last season. I think each and every player we have looks at themselves as individuals. Pushing for a game. Rather than a team player wanting to he part of the system. Look at any of my posts lately. Hardly know any of these signings and tbh jesus the only one for me so far showing signs of bringing something to the fore. But how does he do it without service? Again again again. You got to work to play simple balls, not f kn flick n hope. Stupid money. Just sick of the whole f kn mess. Owner included. Just my opinion.

18 Sep 2025 15:30:09
Now here’s a question. Have some of the players decided not to play for Ange because they want Nuno?

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Sep 2025 16:23:07
I wouldn't have thought so. Unless it's amateur hour at the village hall.

18 Sep 2025 16:34:48
Bsered if that's the case just play the new signings there better anyway.

18 Sep 2025 16:46:13
Absolute rubbish.

18 Sep 2025 17:07:27
I don't think that for one minute.

18 Sep 2025 17:17:24
Ange did the right thing playing all the available squad last night. The squad will become more tight knit now he's able to load up the deadwood stage with players who should never pull the shirt on again.
John victor, Boly, Savona, Motata Yates, MGW.

18 Sep 2025 23:02:48
Savona.

Talk about not giving someone a chance. Great ball from him to set up 2nd goal. Let him settle.

Aina and Williams didn't hit the ground running, but they haven't done too bad.

19 Sep 2025 11:49:39
Yates shouldn't be in that list. he just had bad game and Bowie will be upset you put him in it.

Would we have come away from last nights game with a win under Nuno? Possibly.
Would we have learnt anything? Doubt it.
Would we be looking at players being burnt out in the next couple of weeks? Definitely.
Why? Because Nuno would have played his usual favourite starting eleven.

Nuno has been found out in the Premier league, just look at our recent form, its absolutely terrible. We had a small squad last season and over reliance on certain players contributed to their poor form going into the last month or so of the season. Then he persisted in the same vain into this season.
Nuno complained about not having cover across the pitch, Mr M invested close to a quarter of a billion for him.
Oh and Nuno collected around eight million after negotiating a new deal before manufacturing his own downfall which i suspect was due to the pressure and reality of having to work with a bigger more talented squad.
Now don't get me wrong, i'm a big fan of Nuno. I believe he was our best manager since Frank Clark.

Ange has been given the reins and has had one whole week to lift a squad that's been in relegation form for months. First task after one whole training session Arsenal away, mission impossible if you ask me. Then Swansea away last night, wholesale changes and a first run out for many of our new very young and English football wise inexperienced players. First half was impressive and second absolutely dyer. Could definitely see different patterns of play in our build ups and Jesus looked great.
I have a feeling that for premier and big European games Ange will stick to the tried and trusted trinity of the block, Sels Milenkovic and Murillo.

Ange has had a week in the job and now has had a good look at everyone, something i doubt would have happened under Nuno.
Give the Aussie a chance and get behind him, big Mr M clearly trusts him and therefore so should we. ?.

Agree8 Disagree0

18 Sep 2025 10:44:05
As long as Ange doesn't say any harsh words about Marinakis he will be alright.

18 Sep 2025 11:02:46
If being found out means finishing 7th and qualifying for Europe and reaching an FA cup semi final I'd settle for all our managers being found out.

18 Sep 2025 11:06:35
Should have been top four, not seventh Fred and the semi was there to be won. What ifs and maybes. ?.

18 Sep 2025 11:16:17
Last fifteen games under Nuno including pre season.

Played 15
Won 3
Draws 6
Lost 6

Not exactly inspiring ?.

18 Sep 2025 11:16:54
Lol hiw can you blame nuno wasn't in charge. ange had a full squad to choose from and do it is way against a championship team. he made wrong decision bringing subs on 2 nil up and lose 3-2 against poxy Swansea Burnley rubbing there hands together ange no clue about defense simple bring back nuno.

18 Sep 2025 11:20:13
Good assessment of things winter
Deffo a game of two halves last night.

18 Sep 2025 11:21:15
We will see the true value of Nuno over the next few months for sure. His Leadership skills worked wonders within his set parameters. 8 million - can't buy a decent player for that!

Signing so many players at once and preying it comes together on the night - If only it was that easy!

Teamwork / togetherness starts from the top man to the kit man. If all on the same page, might have a fighting chance.

18 Sep 2025 11:24:25
Have you considered its the players that were found out as well as the manager?
Everything is there to be won but you can't win them all.
Those 4 points from the first 2 games could come in very handy.

18 Sep 2025 11:28:31
Skegs you plonker read it properly i'm not blaming Nuno for last nights result. ?.

18 Sep 2025 11:31:51
Pre-season ?. Doesn't matter a jot.
Cherry picking at its finest again.

18 Sep 2025 11:34:32
Also you have to remember a lot of these players arrived after pre season so without cup games Nuno or Ange wouldn't have had a chance to see what their all about. ?.

18 Sep 2025 11:45:33
Fred of course i cherry picked those games? proving my point to the maximum ??.

18 Sep 2025 11:48:14
Skegs again? Is it the same Skegvegas that I apparently am? Or is it a different one? DTP might need to clear this one up.

18 Sep 2025 11:48:32
There's a lot of great players in this squad bakwa last night was brilliant Jesus going to be class I just hope he has a rough idea already who is first 11 are mgw be gone at Xmas hopefully and have always said before we bought him sangare not good enough ange as probably 6 weeks to sort it.

18 Sep 2025 11:53:58
RedRobinhood - Agreed - How many signings were made after pre season and prior deadline day? Too many if wanted to hit the ground running.

So the cup match were always likely to be a difficult challenge if throwing all the new players together for the first time in a competitive match. Reminds me of the cooper days.

The positive on signing so many players at once is we should have enough players to be able to play a match against each other in training, with cover for each position.

18 Sep 2025 12:02:30
So let me get this correct BSR?
You want to include friendlies in your form report on our old manager.
You accept we would more likely have won with Nuno (you use the word ‘probably’)
And you say because Mr M chose Ange, you will trust him (and so should we all)? Best leave prior managerial choices off the list like MON etc, and all the countless ones he appeared to have made at Olympiakos.

Let’s hope we beat Burnley, arguably the weakest of the promoted teams. We will I think but Ange is a strange appointment, a strangely timed appointment too (after buying all the players), and this won’t be an easy ride.

18 Sep 2025 12:48:38
Sorry ‘possibly’ not ‘probably’.

Very mixed opinions about last night. Finding hard to deal with giving away 2 goals in the last 3 mins of added time! Careless? Oscar Wilde would have difficulty finding a metaphor for that. Mr Slot will be anticipating our fixtures with glee!

PS Agree about Igor Jesus. Has to play against Burnley.

Ange has an 18 month contract. If results do not improve by Xmas, Mr. M will pull the trigger again and bring in someone else like Silva.

"Every time that I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
Oh, it went by like dusk to dawn
Isn't that the way? "

Great lyrics for those who canny let go?.
