StokeyRed has written an article entitled, Nottingham Forest will go down without Sean Dyche?
19 Oct 2025 15:24:13
Feel Mancini is the better coach. ?.
19 Oct 2025 15:54:21
He’s not managed at club level since 2018. Excellent coach in the past with good teams but perhaps yesterday’s man? Whereas Dyche is a proven Premiership manager with an impressive record of instilling a bit of fight and discipline into his sides, especially in a crisis, which we have with Mr M’s spectacular run of own goals. Plus he brings with him his Forest connections ( Stone and Woan) and knows the team. And, having spaffed millions of quid up the wall paying off Nuno and Postacoglau he’s free.
Only my opinion of course…….
19 Oct 2025 16:02:44
A good article Stokey. Big M signs the cheques but I don’t think said to Nuno you can’t have Taroe. He is too removed from local happenings. His goal is success for our club and getting back on the European stage, where we belong. Of course he is a proud man and Nuno was responsible for his own demise. The fact he was given a 3 yr contract, shows Big M had every confidence in him as a long term manager. Is Nuno a good manager - I am not sure. Will he save West Ham I doubt. Big M was advised wrongly about AP suiting Forest, he was an opposite to Nuno, like him he had a variable CV. I agree about Sean Dyce but he will not want to be a stand in, till Silva is appt. So Big M is in a dilemma and it’s who is whispering in his ear that’s important, and worries me. Big M should appoint Dyche who has a good pedigree and relationship with his players. SC was an expert at this. Patently the moral amongst the players is rock bottom, and APs appointment did not help this. The next manager is crucial to the continued success of this club. I cannot think of a realistic alternative to Dyche. Mancini will not ‘ cuddle ‘ the players Psyche and will be looking for a final pay off. Dyche has a lot to prove to the football world that he has got what it takes to be successful.
19 Oct 2025 16:17:31
What ever happens this decision by Marinakis has got to be so right, all his ambition for Forest could rest on it?. Watched MotD a few times today, The City Ground could have been mistaken for a Roman Amphitheatre, every time the camera went on Marinakis I expected his arm to come out and put a thumbs down?.
19 Oct 2025 15:49:35
How can the choices allegedly be mancini and dyche, totally different types of Manager what is it big m wants?
Can't write the season off already n I think appointing dyche will be an admission that some already have
Go get silva pay the dollars n leave him to it.
19 Oct 2025 16:46:55
Agree redstripe, £8, 000, 000 is peanuts, relatively, if we can spend over £100 million on players who can’t make the match day squad 8million for the most important man in the club is a no brainier. Always assuming that he wants to come of course, couldn’t blame him if he didn’t.
19 Oct 2025 16:49:10
Good article Stokey.
19 Oct 2025 17:09:10
Well put redstripe.
19 Oct 2025 17:13:40
Dyche is by far the least successful and most boring of the list of candidates.
19 Oct 2025 18:02:31
Yes but Dyche has only managed small clubs or clubs with no money to spend, unlike Mancini. Let’s see what he can do with some serious talent, demotivated atm though it is.
As for £8 million it counts towards FFP. We got 4 points docked the season before last. I agree it’s peanuts to Mr M who is apparently worth £5 billion but that’s irrelevant….
19 Oct 2025 18:19:48
Sorry Stokey, should of said good read btw, but have a word mate, how many trophies has Dyche won? Mancini would be fantastic and for those who think their styles are so much different. Mancini loves a solid defensive unit playing 433 on the break at pace. Sound familiar?
Now don't get me wrong i'm definitely not anti Dyche but i think the ex fester striker would be the better option especially long term. ?.
19 Oct 2025 18:26:18
I agree RC, no disrespect to Dyche as I really like him, but think we can do better.
He is someone I would parachute in toward the end of the season for a relegation scrap if you were in one, we aren't in that situation yet.
We are one place below and have 2 points less than we had at this stage after 8 games last season.
Mr M, you made this mess this season, go fetch your Coutts and Co cheque book and pay off Fulham for Silva.
19 Oct 2025 18:32:36
Dyche would be a disaster
Don't want him anywhere near our club.
19 Oct 2025 18:37:45
Hey DTP, sneaked in there. I'm really disappointed that i didn't see one of your protests over Ange. Kept a keen eye out to. ?.
19 Oct 2025 18:57:29
Problem lies in midfield winter, MGW, Anderson, sangare says no goals
All good players but have no idea where the goal is
Add to that all three can't take a set piece
Whoever comes in will have to drop MGW or it will cost him his job
His finishing is appalling as is Andersons, we should have been two up at half time, but they can't score.
19 Oct 2025 10:59:24
As you know from my previous posts, friends, I have long derided Pat Nevin as a pundit, mainly because I don't understand a word he says. I have compared him to Rowley Burkitt QC the Paul Whitehouse character. Like him Nevin always sounds "ver. ver drunk".
However, he did make some good points in a BBC interview, fortunately transcribed in print, about Postacoglau's attacking pressing philosophy.
The gist of it was that it suits teams with limitless wealth able to support big squads of immensely talented and expensive players like Manchester City, Barcelona and Klopps Liverpool. Because the style causes exhaustion and injuries both in training and matches. It's high intensity and players are expected to run themselves into the ground.
This is generally ok with the players whilst they are seeing results and success. But they quickly become risk averse if the rewards don't arrive.
Even in a match, if you can do it for 60 minutes to the point of being dead on your feet, you might be 4 nil up by that point and game over. Then rotation comes into play.
I saw Forest players quickly losing faith with Ange with each defeat. He isn't a fool and tried to be more pragmatic with a back 5 against Newcastle and yesterday but too late to save him.
I remember Bielsa s Leeds teams coming to grief towards the end of a season using this physically punishing style with first choice players injured and no money for adequate replacements.
Anyway, it's a good read and analysis.
By the way, it's no coincidence that Nunos squad had very few absences through injuries throughout his time in charge. Under his system ( and Dyche if appointed) players run many fewer miles and with less intensity. It's about energy conservation, patience and discipline plus good team spirit where everyone knew what they were doing, unlike the shambles under Postacoglau.
19 Oct 2025 12:31:06
100% correct, when your players are only of a certain standard low block is how you stay in games.
19 Oct 2025 12:43:39
I heard Nevin on the radio talking about this and it appears there is a trend we have seen in his short chaotic spell that we collapse in the second half. May not be a lack of fitness but definitely a lack of mental fortitude. Whether that has been down to Angeball who knows. I think it was telling that Murillo liked the post saying Ange was a gonner.
19 Oct 2025 12:47:31
If the players took there chances yesterday, it could have been a stay of execution for Postecoglou, who ever is employed next has to tell the players some home truths, if they want to play international football giving 100% for Forest is paramount. Posted that Dyche would be nowhere near my choice for coach, like putting a white flag up saying we are in a relagation battle, although there's still plenty of the season left!. But am now intrigued to see how it would pan out?, would after spending Millions would Marinakis see avoiding going down by two points a success, after competing for Europe previously?.
19 Oct 2025 14:33:08
Good post Mossy. ( By the way I have posted a reply to your Lennon McCartney post on Discussion mate.
We are actually in a relegation battle, the table doesn’t lie. We might as well start early by recognising it and appointing Dyche to steady the ship because we are in a death spiral atm even though it early days.
19 Oct 2025 15:34:07
Dyche I'd rather support the rams. really is that what a massive last season as boiled down to scraping tge bottom of a barrel with dyche don't think Mr m will do it he wants more than a relegation battle. the first thing the big man should do to sort this mess out is fire edu simple.
19 Oct 2025 15:55:48
Mate, whether Mr M wants a relegation battle or not, he’s got one. Have you looked at the table this morning?
19 Oct 2025 16:26:49
We have a squad that can get us out of that easy stokey just need the right manager in charge and that's definitely not dyche.
19 Oct 2025 18:22:55
Have to agree skegs, think the relegation battle fears are definitely abit premature. Couple of wins and we'd be midtable. ?.
19 Oct 2025 21:20:47
Couple of wins Red? We’ve only won 1 all season ( and preseason) mate? ??.
19 Oct 2025 10:19:21
Watching the game yesterday in my opinion the zone all marking is costing us goals go back to man marking your man stop him getting the ball, they train every day you see it on FB they are scoring from all over the place yet in a match can not hit a bard door, if you train every day you should be able to kick the ball with both feet why do commontators keep saying it was on his wrong foot.
19 Oct 2025 13:19:12
Exactly this. I’ve posted several times about how one-footed our players are. No better example than CHO.
19 Oct 2025 10:16:22
For me it’s either Dyche or relegation, can’t see any of the other contenders stopping the defence leaking so badly.
It might be dull but it’s better than the alternative.
19 Oct 2025 11:03:12
'Premier Manager gets sacked'.! ; HEADLINE NEWS! Do you think if it was someone like say Potter that there would be all this coverage? Don't kid yourselves that Forest are big news now, it is him they want. (Next Traitors I.
19 Oct 2025 11:47:34
Bit early for relegation fears. there are good managers around or ones we can buy off. We don't want another panic choice. Let's see who can bring them together not just defensively, but attack-wise too.
19 Oct 2025 16:21:19
Have you looked at the table?
20 Oct 2025 00:17:51
Imagine a team bottom of Championship and still getting promoted, the right appointment could change everything.
19 Oct 2025 07:39:24
{Ed's Note - Thestigno1 has posted a new article entitled, Where Are Glasgow Rangers Heading?
19 Oct 2025 02:53:14
Whist watching the F1 highlights thought I'd check the odds
Sean Dyche. 7/ 10 · Roberto Mancini. 2/ 1 · Luciano Spalletti. 5/ 1 · Rafa Benitez. 18/ 1.
19 Oct 2025 06:57:38
Just to add to that list.
Harry Potter 20/ 1.
David Blane 22/ 1.
Yuri Geller 33/ 1.
Dynamo 100/ 1.
Merlin 2500/ 2.
Need a magician to cast a spell to get us in the right track again!
19 Oct 2025 07:10:01
Iraola or simular is required but Marinakas will make a right cods ear of it yet again. Shopping at Temu.
In rejects corner.
19 Oct 2025 08:01:12
Dyche will get the job. Then Mancini will get the job after the next international break.
19 Oct 2025 08:17:51
Didn't know they could drive aswell RedRobinHood!
???.
19 Oct 2025 09:11:01
Liz Truss would have lasted longer.
19 Oct 2025 10:22:33
Rogie ???.
19 Oct 2025 11:40:56
Mr m as been on phone to me. told him crate of Stella and a kebab every night and deals done. I couldn't be any worse than dyche ?.
18 Oct 2025 23:41:11
At the end of the day it's night!
Night night Ange!
I watched his pre match interview on Friday, I couldn't believe what I was hearing! Celtic, Spurs, but what about your current job, in Nottingham?
When I saw the team sheet I realised he wanted to be sacked, Ange realised he made a mistake coming and wanted OUT! He got his wish, and gave Chelsea 3 points!
Good riddance Ange! Fly Emerates back to Oz!
19 Oct 2025 01:07:17
But for poor finishing we we could have won that game.
Fine margins. It wasn't meant to be.
19 Oct 2025 17:17:11
Several games we had at least three times as many chances as the other team. The players share as much blame as the boss.
18 Oct 2025 22:40:28
Well EDS obviously ya both known me years I've been on. Am I banned now or what?
{Ed033's Note - You should obviously know that your recent posts have been too derogotory towards other posters to be let on the site.
18 Oct 2025 23:05:05
Let him back ed.
Bowie gets very emotional at time's and wears his heart on his sleeve.
I'm sure he can bite his tongue going forward or suck a lemon.
18 Oct 2025 23:40:39
'Mack is back in Town! '
? ? ?.
19 Oct 2025 06:56:12
Free Bowie!
19 Oct 2025 08:21:12
"I'm Bowiecus! "
???
???.
19 Oct 2025 15:53:11
Derogatory is not insulting, illegal, slanderous or likely to cause extreme offence. It may be disrespectful, thus more like a yellow card and if repeated a Red one. Let the game flow Eds have him back on clear warning?
19 Oct 2025 17:18:46
Derogatory can be insulting. It's a form of disrespect.
18 Oct 2025 21:45:22
Walking down to the ground before the game and visiting fanzone behind the Cloughie stand did any body else feel the general apathy around the City Ground.
Usually chants of come on you reds was ringing out.
Nothing very little atmosphere any where.
The excitement around the place had been cut off.
Thankfully Marinakas has seen sense before it was to late. All this talk of giving him time. How much more could our great supporters take after that second half performance.
Let's hope Marinakas gets it right this time but as we all know it's going to be a bit of a lottery fixing the mess Marinaskas and Edu have created. Heres hoping.
18 Oct 2025 21:24:29
Get ready for some good old fashioned 4-4-2
SD's team v Porto
Sels
Williams
Milenkovic
Murrilo
Zinchenko
Ndoye
Luis
Anderson
MGW
Jesus
Wood.
18 Oct 2025 22:51:52
That team would get annihilated v Porto.
Don't think Zinchenko would get a sniff, under Dyche. And he would definitely find a place for Sangare who played well today btw.
19 Oct 2025 10:22:32
Zinchenko would probably be a good option in midfield.
19 Oct 2025 11:53:18
Zinchenko loses the ball, can't tackle or get back and would be destroyed in midfield. To make us stable I would bring in Yates and have CHO in instead of Wood. Jesus much more likely to score than Wood or Awoniyi. We are still not using Abbott at all and we could.
19 Oct 2025 12:44:41
Zinchenko played midfield in a side that won the Prem Title.
18 Oct 2025 21:12:37
Will Andy Reid be in charge of team selection on Thursday night in which case we might play with 2 out and out wingers for a change.
18 Oct 2025 22:54:06
Effing hope not.
He spent the last 2 years of his Forest playing contract getting pissed at Ragland Road. An absolute disgrace. And I told him to his face.
19 Oct 2025 06:29:34
Marinakis will be in charge of team selection on Thursday, MUNMAD.
19 Oct 2025 06:58:41
Or Edu the Devil ???.
19 Oct 2025 08:23:04
That rhymed Forest 67!
???.
19 Oct 2025 10:24:12
The Raglan Road is only about 5 mins walk from here. They used to sell Caffrey's for £2.50 a pint for years. Full of annoying students now.
18 Oct 2025 21:09:52
Sean Dyche will get us to a mid table finish imo 11th or 12th
Today we had127m worth of players not in the starting 11 or indeed on the subs bench namely Bakwa Hutchinson Kalimuendo and McAtee
AP was sacked for not selecting them and losing should Edu therefore be sacked for buying them.
