The result today, Wood's scores a couple, Yates gets one, then Murillo scores with a overhead kick from the half way line 👃. Then fifteen minutes left Nuno makes his subs, final result 2-4.

There has been much speculation about the squad size, if anything at all happens it needs massive pruning, I could see a dozen players leaving, none would be missed either because they are not good enough or because they are permanently injured! Cooper wanted a smaller squad, so does Nuno, will this happen? Don't expect anything other than more chaos on the transfer front!

Agree1 0Disagree

19 May 2024 14:54:32
Agree Tyke, massive pruning. We are not a charity to the development of African and Brazilian young millionaires! Our performances in away matches are embarrassing and will lead to relegation if we don't sort it out. The following players imo have had there chance and must be sold:
Origi (nothing more to say)
Niakate- not physically up to the PL, not commanding enough, not fast enough.
Neco Williams - tries hard but his skinning at Tottenham and miss in the first 5 minutes against Man City were the last straw for me. If we can get £17M back from Wrexham using patriotism we should snap the Hollywood millionaires hands off. Worth £6M
Danilo - some shocking performances and no contribution in most away games - this is the problem. Not being unkind to the lad but he will easily make a millionaires career somewhere like Holland or Portugal, not in the PL.
Omabamadele - not good enough.
Chris Wood - he could make a contribution and has important goals in him but not at £80K per week - let him go if he and his agent expect more.
We simply have to be ruthless in the interests of this football club.

Agree1 0Disagree

19 May 2024 16:01:57
Sorry forgot, also on the ruthless must go list:
Kouyate - finished at Premier League level and a fouling machine. His agent is having a laugh.
Toffolo - not his fault but just not enough ability at PL level. Full back is a vital position.
Also gramatical error in previous post, their not there! COYR.

Forest have always been on the smelly end of the stick when it comes to the media and the games establishment refs decisions even before VAR
33 years ago yesterday I was at Wembley when we had the FA cup cheated from us if you want an example of a biased referee look no further than Milford that day
I’m proud to support Forest who have to work a little harder to overcome odds even before we kick off.

Agree2 0Disagree

19 May 2024 09:41:36
I don’t think Milford was a cheat Freddie, he was actually a good ref but there is no doubt he bottled it that day and in reality so did forest and so did clough - it was for me the first sign his magic was dying.

I was there too and I remember leaving feeling that Clough was now losing his way, we didn’t really deserve to win that day and it’s was the start of him making some awful decisions. Walker out tiler in, only Teddy out bannister and Rosario in beats that! In hindsight I wish he’d have gone after 91 - I honestly feel the yrs in the grave yard could have been avoided had he have gone then.

He did the club a lot of damage in those last two yrs. All this is said with complete respect for the man - someone who touched many lives with his genius - if only he’d have been in his prime today with a premier league forest - what a thought that is! Love ya Mr clough and hope you and peter have a dugout in heaven, sat together, as it should have always been.

Agree0 0Disagree

19 May 2024 10:34:48
If Clough and Taylor were in the dugout watching from heaven they'd be sending lightning bolts down watching some of the crap over the last 2 seasons.

We could do worse than look at Elijah Adebayo from Luton big strong quick and would make a good squad player for next season

Awoniyi made of biscuit and Chris Wood 32 and past his best

Need a GK and a specialist LB and a CB or AM if either Murrilo or Gibbs White are sold

Sangare needs a good pre season and get fit.

Back to Nuno, he currently has 0.95 points per game average at Forest. That’s roughly 36 points per season- this year aside that would most probably mean relegation. Just a thought.
And perhaps we just have a close season without change, without upheaval and preferably with a coherent transfer policy? And a chance to get rid of a load of deadwood.

Who is waiting in the wings for the poison chalice that is our club. As soon as our premiership survival is confirmed - I am not counting chickens -, the odds will be out as relegation favourites which will be us and Ipswich. It is likely if there is a new manager it will be another European and likely a Nuno look a like. We hit lucky with SC but we can’t go back there.

I do worry about Nuno though, although it is best he continues as there will be no one else. His substitutions against Chelsea probably lost us the game, I don’t think they were ever explained. What would have reassured us fans is a series of wins, even the rarity of two away wins on the trot by the end of Sunday.

If the squad stays together we have a capable team as we saw against Chelsea. More than anything we need a striker. The Luton player is a good shout but like every forward he is injury prone.

Agree1 0Disagree

18 May 2024 21:02:12
We definitely need a striker but from Luton Barkley his the man I'd take especially if we lose Gibbs if not I'd still get him because a bargain nobody knows what maranakis is thinking he won't be happy with nuno he wants us to be more than fighting relegation but like I say whatever he chooses needs to be done after the Burnley game for me if we lose he could be gone.

I think this is worth a separate post to my previous. Can any of my fellow-Reds give any positives about our time in the Premiership as opposed to the Championship? Kudos and bragging-rights aside, I can't think of any. If anything, I think our club has gone downhill since promotion. I'm not being depressing, just realistic. I much preferred us overall as a club in the Championship.

Murrillo, Gibbs White and Aina plus paying only a couple of million for CHO from Chelsea all pluses who have shown their quality in the Premier.

Agree2 0Disagree

18 May 2024 09:35:31
Danillo, Dominguez, Navas, fillipe last season, awoniyi, Mangala just a few quality players
Legless one obvious plus was the city ground rocking like it's never done before
Two sides play though not just forest and it's great to watch world class players play against us
The longer we stay in the premier the better we will get
Lots of plusses for me.

Great question Legless mate. I agree with the previous comments. For all of its frustrating aspects ( VAR, favouritism, the rigged domination of the big 6, refs frightened to make decisions and when they do, bad ones, diving and cheating generally, the pundits with vested interests etc) on balance it’s great to see the WFCG full and passionate fans watching the Worlds best players and some superb football.
As Vespa so succinctly put it, would you rather watch us pit ourselves against Arsenal or Accrington?
Plus we occasionally get to beat the best, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Spurs, Chelsea. The team goal against Man City was worth a season ticket on its own!

Legless my friend, I agree with all you hate about the premiership, and have stated it in previous posts, I HATE the premiership, everything about it stinks, but unfortunately I also believe that Forest for the sake of the club, have to be in it. I think the problem is mate, our performances, I believe that if we had a club that was performing better, able to win more games, most of us fans, even the haters of the premiership like us, and lots of others, would be enjoying it a little more, maybe next season ay, and maybe NOT.
While the same clubs win everything year after year I’ll never enjoy the premiership, but at the minute, such is life mate, but its so fecking boring ain’t it.

Beating festa at home on a Saturday afternoon after a skin full.

Beating Liverpool at home on a Saturday afternoon after a skilful.

Beating arsenal at home to stay up on a Saturday afternoon after a skill full and pretty much opening the trapdoor for festa.

The atmosphere at home last season was a unique moment n time and won’t happen again.

My children and wife watxhing forest in the premier league for the first time and my prediction to them, that if we ever got back in the big league - the roof will come off the cg all season coming true.

For me sky, the premier, the cheating arabs, VAR the officials. have inflicted far too many wounds on the club i love with all heart. a lot of them taking far too long to heal. Corruption bleeds yet we dress them in paper cash. But we keep on trying. Just my opinion. Will never change. Sorry if this annoys my fellow reds. I will always be there. It's what we do. X.

It is what it is we survived in the end
When you look at it Sheffield and Burnley had parachute payments but still failed, we lost four points because we wanted the premier and had no option as we didn't even have a team when we got promoted
Always be some failures but some very good signings aswell
We have the foundation to build on now as a team
The only way is up.

Manchester city will never be held to account for the blatant corruption they have committed over the years. The prem and fa should add up all the money city have over spent and make the Arab owners pay that amount to each of the other premier sides past and present as reconpese for the years of cheating, then draw a line under it. you can't blame the players who turn out for them, end of the day they go for the best deal. City will be champions again on Sunday, but we know and they know that team was built on corruption.

Thanks for the ground debate gents, think this one will rumble on. Club and Council are having their own Mexican stand off.
Burnley away? Is Nuno going to shuffle the pack, show the club which players he doesn't want?
Or end the season on a positive and make his case for a stay of execution?
Darren Fletcher suggesting Moyes is a hard no from me.
I go for a moral boosting win, 3-1 Forest. COYR.

Like I've said to many on here, if you don't like what your seeing walk away and stop moaning, you've had 23 years of being justified in moaning as a forest fan, nows the time to move on or give up
Sick of hearing on here about how some of you want us to go back to the championship because it was better?
Really?

After 23 plus years wherever the team is I will have a moan it's human nature you have done the same in the past, I didn't want Mr Clough at first and didn't want Cooper either plus a few others along the way and still and always will be a Forest fan and will never walk away did you when Houghton was manager once a red always a red ♥️♥️.

Why?

Agree5 0Disagree

17 May 2024 20:24:39
Evening DTP. I'm just curious as to why you think Forest is in a better place as a club in the Premier League as opposed to the Championship? Status/ bragging-rights of course. But, looking at our situation logically comparing our PL status vs the Championship I would suggest:
Financially - no, we're losing more money than ever.
Quality of play - marginally, but given the amount of money we've spent on new players, the return on that investment is embarrassing.
Reputation - no.
Management - no.
Passion of players - no.
State of the City Ground - no.
Player recruitment - no.
I'm just being realistic. Until I see some positives emerging from our PL status I will always look back on our Championship days fondly.

Agree7 0Disagree

18 May 2024 09:41:18
Why will you look back on our championship days fondly?
Don't forget we were in league one aswell
We had some terrible managers and players in the championship
We will just get better the longer we stay in the premier
It takes time and money to establish.

16 May 2024 21:05:34
After giving thought to the move, I'm not against moving from the city ground, but I'm absolutely opposed to moving to Toton, I think it's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard come out of the club, it's so ridiculous I can only assume that it's the owner playing games with our inept city council,

Agree2 0Disagree

16 May 2024 21:50:24
I agree stevie
If the council can't play ball and realise the money we bring to the city and the boats club can't find a new home?
It sort of leaves the club with no alternative.

DTP, Forest started playing at the City Ground in 1898, the rowing club you would like to move away was erected in 1869. It makes it older by 29 years, Forest started at the goose fair site in 1865 when they were formed, I think. Why don't they move back to to the forest recreation ground where they started.
