{Ed's Note - LFC-S MANGO has posted a new article entitled, Is Liverpool FC In A Crisis?
20 Oct 2025 06:38:30
Dyche incoming low block long ball draw specialist if lucky. bring back. douggie freeman all his forgiven. well done Mr maranakis and your right hand man edu excellent work on how to destroy a club in 8 weeks.
20 Oct 2025 08:13:05
I'll get my bedsheet ready.
20 Oct 2025 09:19:48
Dtp just make sure you spell it correctly and it hasn’t got ‘dyke out’ on it ?.
20 Oct 2025 11:41:04
On a serious note we have to hope dyche is successful or it's relegation
If he's the coach then he'll get my backing, if by Xmas we are in bottom 3 though, then we'll need coach number 4
I'm not thrilled by his appointment and I don't think the squad will suit his style, but you never know he might adapt.
20 Oct 2025 11:50:49
Dtp I've started collecting old bedsheets ready. anyone looking forward to forest Mansfield next season.
19 Oct 2025 20:27:29
One thing I'd say about ange tenure is we played our best football with luiz on the pitch
When he went off in seville and yesterday we fell apart.
20 Oct 2025 11:42:45
Had my doubts about Luiz but we are better when he's in the team, I think if Luiz plays 14 games+ it will make the move here permanent, with Dyche being appointed, Luiz is the sort of character who will refuse to play if he's not happy here!. I think Yates is the sort of player Dyche prefers.
19 Oct 2025 20:13:37
I've read with interest all your comments
Here's the problem
Easy to blame ange
Easy to blame edu
End if the day we've bought an attacking squad but can't score?
Only jesus and ndoye doing that
MGW giving goals away and got a better chance of playing rugby when it comes to shooting.
19 Oct 2025 21:05:35
Gibbs-White should've been dropped weeks ago.
19 Oct 2025 21:21:33
Didn't get many from midfield last season though did we yet we still did OK?
Difference is we're letting too many in at the other end.
19 Oct 2025 21:36:50
We did last season Fred
Everton lost one nil
Brentford lost 2 nil
Leicester drew 2 2
Chelsea lost one nil
It's not a new occurrence
Goalkeeper that's been sussed on set pieces as they know he will stay on his line and only punch at best
Coaches work that one out Fred.
19 Oct 2025 22:13:07
You've listed 4 games there lol.
What about the rest of the season?
Didn't we keep the joint most clean sheets?
You may have had another one of your timeouts but you still come back on arguing black is white ?.
19 Oct 2025 22:26:07
I'd also ask the question Fred, if we went to a back four?
Who would be your choice right now?
To me 9nly Williams can play as a right or left back?
Zinchenko is not a fullback and neither is savona, so what do we do?
That's a massive problem right now as well as midfield.
19 Oct 2025 22:41:08
Fred I'm just putting the real stats in front of you, I go to every home game and done arsenal and Newcastle away, I've seen us win one game no matter the coach that we've won
I've lusted them for a reason as it shows we were on a decline keeping clean sheets as we'd been sussed
We had an outlet in elanfa, but that's gone now, we also got very lucky with clearances off the line from aina and Co, that luck runs out I'm afraid
We have two players for every position on the field I'm told?
We font in reality as there's nothing at fullback
Sels a great shot stopper but doesn't command his area despite his Suze, zonal marking that has been sussed, add that to no goals from midfield and it's a big problem Fred
Even have to admit MGW has to score first half?
19 Oct 2025 19:11:37
Evening Duty Ed. I'm posting this on behalf of McGovern who is having problems accessing the site. He's tried logging-out and then back in and also deleting all his browsing data. Still no joy and he just gets an 'error 400' message.
Any ideas?
{Ed033's Note - As McGovern is logged out, how about them tapping on the register button and registering the username McGovern2 and then try logging in as McGovern2. If successful, i can make McGovern password the same as McGovern2 password.
19 Oct 2025 19:32:19
I can help on that one
It's down to cookies
Google error 400 and it will show you how to correct it
No other way.
19 Oct 2025 19:56:09
Thanks DTP. I'll let McGovern know. Good to have you back mate.
19 Oct 2025 20:07:17
Lego he needs to clear his cookie cache as there are ones there causing the problem.
19 Oct 2025 19:31:34
Many thanks for the advice Ed033. I'll let him know.
19 Oct 2025 18:56:43
As much as I want Marco Silva to be the new manager I can’t see us paying what Fulham would want.
I suspect it will be dyche which is fine if it’s only until the end of this season.
Other available managers I wouldn’t mind us looking at are:
Marco Rose
Ten Hag
Adi Hutter
Obviously very unlikely.
19 Oct 2025 19:09:05
Why try and put a short-term in?
19 Oct 2025 19:27:56
Can't see any manager wanting to come in just for end of season, would expect any manager would want at least 18 month contract.
19 Oct 2025 19:30:26
Realistically dyche isn’t a long term answer for us I think he’d be okay until the end of the season to make us more solid and he’d bring cohesion to the club I think.
Then get Marco silva in summer once his contract at Fulham’s expired.
That’s what I’d do.
19 Oct 2025 19:45:48
So why even think about it?
19 Oct 2025 20:44:10
Dyche I believe has hesitated as he does not want a short term contract, until the summer. I would agree with him. So the choice is Silva bring bought out. Peanuts compared to the losses we will have if relegated.
19 Oct 2025 21:03:21
Yes he's another that would walk away with a fat pay cheque after failing.
19 Oct 2025 21:23:11
Silva won't be brought due to the £8million compensation fee which will count against PSR.
Also Mancini has walked away from negotiation's.
19 Oct 2025 22:44:39
Simple solution to that Ripley
Pay the compo and sell MGW in January win win.
19 Oct 2025 23:45:00
We will need to sell in January, League and Europe not as expected position wise, would spurs still want MGW?, rather he went than Anderson or Murillo.
20 Oct 2025 06:26:51
Wouldn't worry about paying anything looks like dyche is getting job today. lòoks like no other manager wants the job can't blame them really well if dyche comes in championship dyer football here we come.
19 Oct 2025 17:22:10
I won't post on here which pub, but I could pop down to the **** ***** and ask Sean Dyche what is happening. He's a regular in there.
19 Oct 2025 17:57:02
Get on your bike and do it then Cyclist! ???.
19 Oct 2025 18:16:52
I can tell you what's happening.
Marinankis is having a midlife crisis and has decided to undo everything good at Forest.
19 Oct 2025 18:26:09
I do love a guessing-game! I'm going for the Burnt Stump Pub in Arnold. I like the name of it for some reason.
19 Oct 2025 18:27:15
That the Rust Husky? ?.
19 Oct 2025 18:47:03
Nags Heeed.
19 Oct 2025 18:47:57
I've thought about this post for a couple of days as I know it's controversial, but this issue could affect all football fans around the world. The decision to ban the Israeli fans from villa park I believe is wrong and the actions of west midlands police could have ramifications for us all if it's upheld and could change the face of football as we know it. So let's say forest draw Millwall in the fa cup at the city ground, notts police like us all know the reputation they have, so notts police decides to ban away fans from the ground. their excuse would be the Israeli fans were banned so a president has been made. and before you know it every football fan who travels away can't. then what about the world cup the euros, England supporters had a reputation in the past, so could easily be banned. It's not about religious divisions, I'm concerned about the future of OUR game. No offence intended.
19 Oct 2025 18:59:53
That's very good lego. Clever humour.
19 Oct 2025 19:06:10
The burnt stump is nice in summer for sitting outside. The pub is more central than that. I'd post it, but it's not fair on Sean if loads of fans turn up annoying him. I'm guessing he hasn't gone in tonight, as he'll not be able to chill out.
19 Oct 2025 19:16:19
Redvale I say the police in our second city have told the truth, they have to police the entire city without football, that game brings a lot of tension outside of football, so a good call.
19 Oct 2025 19:50:27
According to the UN Israel are committing war-crimes. Like Russia, shouldn't their teams be banned anyway?
19 Oct 2025 20:56:43
My post has nothing to do with Gaza, I'm looking at the bigger picture and what could happen in the future. So what your saying DTP is you don't mind if the police control where you can come and go to. but I'm forgetting you live in the modern world. thank god I don't.
19 Oct 2025 21:04:22
According to the majority of genocide experts around the world Israel are committing genocide and the UK are complicit, Cyclist.
19 Oct 2025 21:13:43
They already did that thirty years ago redvale, it was a free society and now need ask if its OK to demonstrate
We live in a different country now full of different nationals that get offended
So the police can't win on this one
Safety of villa supporters is priority and safety of travelling fans can't be ensured
It's a time bomb that has nothing to do with just football mate.
19 Oct 2025 22:19:37
I agree with the experts, Silkman. It is a genocide and our government are complicit.
20 Oct 2025 00:05:05
"The Mist Rolling Inn" or The Organ Grinder", It would be a big surprise if it was "The New Foresters".
19 Oct 2025 14:27:41
StokeyRed has written an article entitled, Nottingham Forest will go down without Sean Dyche?
19 Oct 2025 15:24:13
Feel Mancini is the better coach. ?.
19 Oct 2025 15:54:21
He’s not managed at club level since 2018. Excellent coach in the past with good teams but perhaps yesterday’s man? Whereas Dyche is a proven Premiership manager with an impressive record of instilling a bit of fight and discipline into his sides, especially in a crisis, which we have with Mr M’s spectacular run of own goals. Plus he brings with him his Forest connections ( Stone and Woan) and knows the team. And, having spaffed millions of quid up the wall paying off Nuno and Postacoglau he’s free.
Only my opinion of course…….
19 Oct 2025 16:02:44
A good article Stokey. Big M signs the cheques but I don’t think said to Nuno you can’t have Taroe. He is too removed from local happenings. His goal is success for our club and getting back on the European stage, where we belong. Of course he is a proud man and Nuno was responsible for his own demise. The fact he was given a 3 yr contract, shows Big M had every confidence in him as a long term manager. Is Nuno a good manager - I am not sure. Will he save West Ham I doubt. Big M was advised wrongly about AP suiting Forest, he was an opposite to Nuno, like him he had a variable CV. I agree about Sean Dyce but he will not want to be a stand in, till Silva is appt. So Big M is in a dilemma and it’s who is whispering in his ear that’s important, and worries me. Big M should appoint Dyche who has a good pedigree and relationship with his players. SC was an expert at this. Patently the moral amongst the players is rock bottom, and APs appointment did not help this. The next manager is crucial to the continued success of this club. I cannot think of a realistic alternative to Dyche. Mancini will not ‘ cuddle ‘ the players Psyche and will be looking for a final pay off. Dyche has a lot to prove to the football world that he has got what it takes to be successful.
19 Oct 2025 16:17:31
What ever happens this decision by Marinakis has got to be so right, all his ambition for Forest could rest on it?. Watched MotD a few times today, The City Ground could have been mistaken for a Roman Amphitheatre, every time the camera went on Marinakis I expected his arm to come out and put a thumbs down?.
19 Oct 2025 15:49:35
How can the choices allegedly be mancini and dyche, totally different types of Manager what is it big m wants?
Can't write the season off already n I think appointing dyche will be an admission that some already have
Go get silva pay the dollars n leave him to it.
19 Oct 2025 16:46:55
Agree redstripe, £8, 000, 000 is peanuts, relatively, if we can spend over £100 million on players who can’t make the match day squad 8million for the most important man in the club is a no brainier. Always assuming that he wants to come of course, couldn’t blame him if he didn’t.
19 Oct 2025 16:49:10
Good article Stokey.
19 Oct 2025 17:09:10
Well put redstripe.
19 Oct 2025 17:13:40
Dyche is by far the least successful and most boring of the list of candidates.
19 Oct 2025 18:02:31
Yes but Dyche has only managed small clubs or clubs with no money to spend, unlike Mancini. Let’s see what he can do with some serious talent, demotivated atm though it is.
As for £8 million it counts towards FFP. We got 4 points docked the season before last. I agree it’s peanuts to Mr M who is apparently worth £5 billion but that’s irrelevant….
19 Oct 2025 18:19:48
Sorry Stokey, should of said good read btw, but have a word mate, how many trophies has Dyche won? Mancini would be fantastic and for those who think their styles are so much different. Mancini loves a solid defensive unit playing 433 on the break at pace. Sound familiar?
Now don't get me wrong i'm definitely not anti Dyche but i think the ex fester striker would be the better option especially long term. ?.
19 Oct 2025 18:26:18
I agree RC, no disrespect to Dyche as I really like him, but think we can do better.
He is someone I would parachute in toward the end of the season for a relegation scrap if you were in one, we aren't in that situation yet.
We are one place below and have 2 points less than we had at this stage after 8 games last season.
Mr M, you made this mess this season, go fetch your Coutts and Co cheque book and pay off Fulham for Silva.
19 Oct 2025 18:32:36
Dyche would be a disaster
Don't want him anywhere near our club.
19 Oct 2025 18:37:45
Hey DTP, sneaked in there. I'm really disappointed that i didn't see one of your protests over Ange. Kept a keen eye out to. ?.
19 Oct 2025 18:57:29
Problem lies in midfield winter, MGW, Anderson, sangare says no goals
All good players but have no idea where the goal is
Add to that all three can't take a set piece
Whoever comes in will have to drop MGW or it will cost him his job
His finishing is appalling as is Andersons, we should have been two up at half time, but they can't score.
19 Oct 2025 10:59:24
As you know from my previous posts, friends, I have long derided Pat Nevin as a pundit, mainly because I don't understand a word he says. I have compared him to Rowley Burkitt QC the Paul Whitehouse character. Like him Nevin always sounds "ver. ver drunk".
However, he did make some good points in a BBC interview, fortunately transcribed in print, about Postacoglau's attacking pressing philosophy.
The gist of it was that it suits teams with limitless wealth able to support big squads of immensely talented and expensive players like Manchester City, Barcelona and Klopps Liverpool. Because the style causes exhaustion and injuries both in training and matches. It's high intensity and players are expected to run themselves into the ground.
This is generally ok with the players whilst they are seeing results and success. But they quickly become risk averse if the rewards don't arrive.
Even in a match, if you can do it for 60 minutes to the point of being dead on your feet, you might be 4 nil up by that point and game over. Then rotation comes into play.
I saw Forest players quickly losing faith with Ange with each defeat. He isn't a fool and tried to be more pragmatic with a back 5 against Newcastle and yesterday but too late to save him.
I remember Bielsa s Leeds teams coming to grief towards the end of a season using this physically punishing style with first choice players injured and no money for adequate replacements.
Anyway, it's a good read and analysis.
By the way, it's no coincidence that Nunos squad had very few absences through injuries throughout his time in charge. Under his system ( and Dyche if appointed) players run many fewer miles and with less intensity. It's about energy conservation, patience and discipline plus good team spirit where everyone knew what they were doing, unlike the shambles under Postacoglau.
19 Oct 2025 12:31:06
100% correct, when your players are only of a certain standard low block is how you stay in games.
19 Oct 2025 12:43:39
I heard Nevin on the radio talking about this and it appears there is a trend we have seen in his short chaotic spell that we collapse in the second half. May not be a lack of fitness but definitely a lack of mental fortitude. Whether that has been down to Angeball who knows. I think it was telling that Murillo liked the post saying Ange was a gonner.
19 Oct 2025 12:47:31
If the players took there chances yesterday, it could have been a stay of execution for Postecoglou, who ever is employed next has to tell the players some home truths, if they want to play international football giving 100% for Forest is paramount. Posted that Dyche would be nowhere near my choice for coach, like putting a white flag up saying we are in a relagation battle, although there's still plenty of the season left!. But am now intrigued to see how it would pan out?, would after spending Millions would Marinakis see avoiding going down by two points a success, after competing for Europe previously?.
19 Oct 2025 14:33:08
Good post Mossy. ( By the way I have posted a reply to your Lennon McCartney post on Discussion mate.
We are actually in a relegation battle, the table doesn’t lie. We might as well start early by recognising it and appointing Dyche to steady the ship because we are in a death spiral atm even though it early days.
19 Oct 2025 15:34:07
Dyche I'd rather support the rams. really is that what a massive last season as boiled down to scraping tge bottom of a barrel with dyche don't think Mr m will do it he wants more than a relegation battle. the first thing the big man should do to sort this mess out is fire edu simple.
19 Oct 2025 15:55:48
Mate, whether Mr M wants a relegation battle or not, he’s got one. Have you looked at the table this morning?
19 Oct 2025 16:26:49
We have a squad that can get us out of that easy stokey just need the right manager in charge and that's definitely not dyche.
19 Oct 2025 18:22:55
Have to agree skegs, think the relegation battle fears are definitely abit premature. Couple of wins and we'd be midtable. ?.
19 Oct 2025 21:20:47
Couple of wins Red? We’ve only won 1 all season ( and preseason) mate? ??.
19 Oct 2025 10:19:21
Watching the game yesterday in my opinion the zone all marking is costing us goals go back to man marking your man stop him getting the ball, they train every day you see it on FB they are scoring from all over the place yet in a match can not hit a bard door, if you train every day you should be able to kick the ball with both feet why do commontators keep saying it was on his wrong foot.
19 Oct 2025 13:19:12
Exactly this. I’ve posted several times about how one-footed our players are. No better example than CHO.
19 Oct 2025 10:16:22
For me it’s either Dyche or relegation, can’t see any of the other contenders stopping the defence leaking so badly.
It might be dull but it’s better than the alternative.
19 Oct 2025 11:03:12
'Premier Manager gets sacked'.! ; HEADLINE NEWS! Do you think if it was someone like say Potter that there would be all this coverage? Don't kid yourselves that Forest are big news now, it is him they want. (Next Traitors I.
19 Oct 2025 11:47:34
Bit early for relegation fears. there are good managers around or ones we can buy off. We don't want another panic choice. Let's see who can bring them together not just defensively, but attack-wise too.
19 Oct 2025 16:21:19
Have you looked at the table?
20 Oct 2025 00:17:51
Imagine a team bottom of Championship and still getting promoted, the right appointment could change everything.
